Palin: Tina Fey Hold On To That “Sarah Outfit”

AP Photo-Columbus, OH

AP Photo-Columbus, OH

COLUMBUS, OH – Standing in front of a barn facade with the words “Victory in Ohio” emblazoned across it, Sarah Palin expressed her confidence for an underdog win Tuesday.

She praised her running mate’s performance last night on Saturday Night Live and had a message for her look-alike on the show.

“Now speaking of great performances, did anyone catch John McCain last night on SNL—Saturday Night Live?” Palin asked in an airplane hangar rally.

“He was such a pro in those skits there with Tina Fey. And little advice for Tina, we want her to make sure that she’s holding on to that Sarah outfit because she’s gonna need it in the next four years.”

Comment by former coal country gal

In the SF Chronicle interview Obama described his cap and trade as possibly more aggressive than anyone else’s; it differs from McCain’s.

Obama: “I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Do not elect its first socialist President; a person that has so much money to divert attention away from his radical left wing liberal voting record and policies that mirror socialism. I need to know a lot of the money Mr. Obama has raised has come from billionaire George Soros, who could be funneling the Senator’s campaign with anonymous $ 200 donations that don’t need to be reported. In addition, the smear tactics of the Obama campaign racist and sexist in nature. His campaign has not stopped attacking the Governor below the belt since Governor Palin selection was announced, just like his cronies smeared JOE the plumber. Barack Obama cannot be trusted.

Yeah she will, becuase she will be able to make fun of Palin for years to come.. there is that much material.

Yes, McCain’s performance on SNL was his best in the past 26 years. If he had been better and more reasoned during that time he would be in better shape now. Tina Fey will have no further use for her Palin skirt. Palin’s brand of culture war is past and it will take her down with it. Her poor attitude and retarded view of the country is not what we need or want. The republicans will go to a candidate with brains and relevant experience or follow Palin into forgotten history.

She was on a late night talk show the other night and she was PRAISING PALIN. She didn’t have anything UNKIND to say about her and said she was a very nice person. I think the US will agree COME NOV. 4TH!! I ALREADY VOTED EARLY FOR MCCAIN/PALIN!!

I’M BELEIVING BY FAITH, FOR A FULL AND AWSOME VICTORY FOR THE “”RIGHT TEAM”" IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

I am a white woman in my 60’s from Indiana.

I am registered as a Democrat but I believe I would be more aptly described as an Independent. I have never voted for the party but have always voted for the candidate and their stance on the major issues. I have voted in every election since I was first eligible. Never in all those elections was I as passionate as I am about this election.

I first saw Barack Obama on TV during the 2004 democratic convention and admired the wonderful speech he gave. My knowledge of John McCain was limited to his time as a Prisoner of War so I didn’t know much about him and his policies.

After the presidential primary, I have read everything imaginable about Barack Obama and John McCain so I have definitely done my research.

I was leaning toward voting for Barack Obama but was still unsure until several things swayed me totally away from John McCain:

When John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential candidate, I was totally astounded that he would pick a total unknown after meeting her for 15 minutes and I was thoroughly insulted that McCain thought by picking Sarah that he would appeal to the women voters. I was angry that he thought women voters would vote for Sarah because of her gender and that he thought that women voters didn’t have the sense to sort through and vote for the issues. I was even angrier the more I listened to Sarah Palin and knew that she was not ready for, prepared for or intelligent enough for the Vice Presidency.

I was originally impressed that John McCain said he would run a clean campaign. Then shortly after picking Sarah Palin, he (and Sarah) started in with the personal attacks on Barack Obama. It was very disheartening hearing all the things he was throwing at Barack Obama when people really only wanted to hear what he thought on the issues. It was Karl Rove campaign tactics at their best.

I have been absolutely impressed that Barack Obama has run a campaign free of personal attacks on John McCain and has run his campaign with knowledge, wisdom, honesty and integrity when he had so many things he could have brought up about John McCain and Sarah Palin. Has has attacked John McCain on the issues but he has continued to campaign and lay out his plans for the presidency while John McCain and Sarah Palin have continued on their campaign to personally attack Barack Obama while skirting around the issues.

I have heard all of the personal attacks John McCain has thrown at Barack Obama mostly concerning people he had associated with in the past but also attacks were made about Obama’s faith and religion. As these attacks continued day after day, I read more about John McCain, I found out that he had been chasing Cindy McCain while still married to his first wife who had been seriously injured and crippled in an auto accident.

I read about his involvement and friendship with G. Gordon Liddy who was imprisoned for his part in the Watergate burglary. That’s just one element of what Liddy did, and proposed to do, in a secret White House effort to subvert the Constitution. When asked about his connection to G. Gordon Liddy in an interview the other day, John McCain said “yes, I’ve met him”. When pressed, he admitted that “yes, he did know him”. In fact, in 1998 Liddy’s home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, Liddy has made many contributions to the Senator’s campaigns. Last November when McCain was on Liddy’s radio show, Liddy greated John as “an old friend” and McCain said to Liddy: “I’m proud of you, I’m proud of your family. It’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great”.

I also read about John McCain’s part in the Keating 5 Savings and Loan scandal that cost taxpayers $2.6 billion. McCain was found guilty by the Senate Ethics Committee of using “poor judgement” for attending meetings with regulators on Keating’s behalf.

Carl Lindner, Chairman of American Financial Group and former chairman of Chiquita International, made his fortune from the savings and loan industry and junk bonds. In 2008. Lindner raised over $2 million for McCain’s Presidential campaign. Lindner also serves on McCain’s Ohio Victory Team. Carl Lindner was recently implicated in a scandal where he oversaw the payment by Chiquita and its executives of roughly $1.7 million to a Columbian paramilitary group that was designated a terrorist organization. Chiquita made similar payments to the leftist FARC and ELN guerillas during Lindner’s oversight.

The Republican National Committee spent over $150,000 in the month of September on clothing, hair cuts and makeup for Sarah Palin. And she didn’t spend that money at Walmart, JC Penney, Goody’s or Kohl’s. No, she spent it at Neiman Marcus and Saks 5th Avenue. Does this not even bother you a bit when people have lost jobs, lost their 401K’s, seniors have lost money, people have no insurance? For her to spend $150,000 is a slap in the face to all Americans who are hurting right now.

The investigation by the Alaskan Legislature just found Sarah Palin guilty of abuse of power and ethics violation. Then Sarah Palin went on national TV saying that they had found her not guilty.

It has just been reported that Sarah Palin has been taking her children on official business trips and Alaskan citizens have picked up the tab for separate hotel rooms for the kids.

Barack Obama had every right to retaliate against the unfair treatment by John McCain and Sarah Palin but never once did he bring up any of these things or personally attack either John McCain or Sarah Palin..

Have you or anyone in your family lost a job lately? I live in a small town in Indiana where we have lost thousands of jobs to the housing slow-down but mostly to jobs being sent to foreign countries. My daughter lost her high-paying job due to the housing slow-down. I have several relatives who have lost their manufacturing jobs to foreign countries; however, John McCain has always supported and continues to supports giving tax cuts to those companies who send jobs overseas. Barack Obama wants to take those tax cuts away and give them to companies who keep jobs in the United States. We NEED those jobs here in the US.

John McCain has long been a supporter of no regulatory oversight of the financial industry and what happens? Financial meltdown. How much did your 401K lose? Has anyone lost their job due to this meltdown? If not, they may soon. I know many people in our area who have worked hard all their lives and have not only lost thousands of dollars in their savings and 401K’s but have also lost their jobs. Jobs losses will continue.

I just saw an ad this morning where John McCain says that Barack Obama’s tax policies won’t work in this economy. I believe that John McCain’s refusal to regulate the financial industry has not worked and, in fact, caused the financial meltdown.

John McCain & Sarah Palin say Barack OBama has no experience. John McCain has had 26 years of experience in the Senate but obviously he has not done much for the lower or middle class. Barack Obama doesn’t need the experience. He has a fresh outlook not the one that John McCain has had for 26 years. Barack Obama will use his common sense when John McCain would fall back on the Republican ideology.

I am now firmly behind Barack Obama. While John McCain and Sarah Palin have continued attacking Barack Obama, I have been listening to Barack Obama’s speeches about his views, his stance on the issues, what he belives in and what he will do if elected. How refreshing to hear Barack Obama’s speeches instead of the mud John McCain and Sarah Palin are slinging. That is why I am so passionate about Barack Obama’s campaign. I hope you will share my passion and VOTE OBAMA.

I agree with Palin, hang on to that Sarah Outfit. With much of the media pratically coronating Obama these days, they have forget to factor in one meaningful part of this equation - America doesn’t always do what the Media wants them to do, or expect them to do. Look at New Hampshire for example during the Democratic Primary, big surprise there, and a big upset. And with 1 out of 7 American’s not knowing who they’ll vote for on Nov. 4th (14% of the people). Me thinks, they already know, they’re just not telling anyone. And why should they? It’s perfectly within their rights. Besides, it’s really none of the pundit’s business if they decide not to share this with them. With any election, tt’s a personal decision as to who they’ll vote for, whether they’re a Democrat, Republican or Independent and it should always be respected as such.

Yes, Tina Fey, hang on to the Sarah Outfit…

Do you guys that support Sarah … well is it that you really believe what she’s saying or is it, what many people believe, just that you will not vote for a black candidate. I mean other than FOX BS put out there due to the fact that a ring winger owns the station, do you really just ignore logic. Any argumant I’ve heard for the last 18 months about Obama just .. well has no truth to it. Meaning what people are arguing is not and never was his position in the first place. Think about it. This last one for instance, “Obama says he’ll backrupt coal plants” .. that’s not what he said. Corse no one giving him flack about it bothers to go read, yes actually read or hear from his voice, just what he said. He stated that he would fine coal plants for deadly, enviromentally unsafe out lawed in most every state coal emissions. To which is already a law of many states and nothing much new here to see. However, FOX posts the story, you guys were not paying any attention or knew about such laws to begin with because you’re busy watching American Idol and react as if he split the earth into. You guys you guys. Spread where you get your information from and God forbide pay attention

I CANNOT VOTE FOR OBAMA

I am a Conservative. I cannot vote for Obama because I do not believe in many of his policies:

I do not believe the Constitution is “flawed.” I believe it is the basis for this country which is a world leader (economically, militarily).

I do not believe in moving income from the higher tax bracket directly to the lower tax bracket via “refundable” credits. I believe that all low-income assistance programs should be temporary and designed to help the recipient do better with the goal of self-sufficience.

I do not believe that Supreme Court Justices should use their feelings and empathy when deciding cases. I want judges to set aside their personal beliefs and the European precedent and judge on what the US law _says_.

I do not believe that we can talk to every one of our enemies and achieve peace. I believe that there is good and bad in this world and that “bad” people will not support lasting peace without deterrent.

I do not believe that the federal government should be more involved. I believe that the federal government should be less involved - a minimalist approach as we see in the constitution.

I do not believe that being American means everyone enjoys the same things. I believe that America promises equal opportunity, not equal result.

I do not believe we can completely eliminate our dependence on oil. I do believe that whatever oil we do need should be extracted from American soil.

I do not believe you can grow and economy by taxing the “wealthy” and redistributing it to the middle class. I believe you have to leave more money in the hands of the people who earned it and let the government tighten its belt and make do with less.

I do not believe that everything Barack Obama thinks is wrong or that he is evil or that he is trying to ruin the country. I do believe his judgment is suspect and his experience is lacking and I know my vote will _not_ be for Senator Obama.

McCain/Palin ‘08

To Lynn who wrote the novel on support of Obama. You didn’t do enough research. I live in Illinois and have seen what Obama and his cronies and corrupt politicians he’s associated with have done to this state . Leaving that aside, his policy to tax the wealthy is the same thing that Herbert Hoover did in 1931 when he raised the taxes on people making over $100,000. After just coming out of the depression, he totally wrecked the economy for years. People with money and businesses could not start new companies, people were laid off, businesses were closed and the jobless rate went through the roof.

Not to mention the fact that if Obama were just an ordinary citizen, he couldn’t get a security clearance to even get into a secure government site let alone be president with his past associations. One being another of our fine Illinois citizens and personal Obama associate who dedicated one of his books to the assassin of Robert Kennedy.

You were one of the first to respond here so I want to thank you so much for your extensive writings. You have convinced me to vote for a true socialist that will set in motion the destruction of our free enterprise system and our so called liberties. (Our liberties are really just the pressure of the Christian Right to oppress the citizens of this soon to be great country). I am so glad that in these troubled times we will have President Obama to lead us. I know I would be lost without him. In fact, after tomorrow, I may be proud of my country for the first time. Thank goodness we have Harvard trained leaders like this devout man. A person of high learning who can make those complicated decisions for us. I know I trust them far more than any little girl like Sarah Palin who only understands everyday people. She simply doesn’t have that Ivy League training that Senator Obama has.

Again thanks for illustrating so clearly the sort of mentality that promotes the right kind of leadership for America. In the future we can all be properly trained to serve in the best role that President Obama feels we should be qualified for. I for one, look forward to hearing the plans he has for my children!

I hope Lynn feels better getting all that off her chest. Sounds like someone from the Obama camp to me. Leave the stump speech to the candidate. Lynn,
I hope you can live with your choice. I myself have read everything on both Obama and McCain and will be voting McCain . Obama is a deceitful person who has lied all the way to where he is at. Just read his autobiography “Father of my dreams” and all the radical associations he has had. He has poor judgement and no character. He is inconsistent with everything he believes in. He has a step-brother in Kenya who lives with $12 a year and an aunt in Boston that is illegal in this country and lives on welfare and you believe he is going to take care of you??? Wake up …stop drinking his kool-aid. Remember this, you are being fooled!

I went to a Sarah Palin rally yesterday here in our battleground state, and I have to tell you that she gave a GREAT speech. It was refreshing to be able to hear her uncensored and edited. She didn’t make a single mistake, and the crowd LOVED her. I have never seen a crowd go on bonkers as they went when she came onstage. We had to stand in the same place for five hours. When you’re standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the same people for that long, you kinda get to know them. The guy next to me was a staunch democrat who is NOW voting for McCain/Palin. The lady in front of me was an independent voting for McCain/Palin.

What does it say about Obama that his own party is voting for the other ticket?

Comment to Lynn below.

YOu probably should READ a little more! Here are my comments after skimming your rather long comments.
1. Sen Palin, who is second on the REP ticket, has more experience than Obama at the top of the DEM ticket. She not only has the executive experience, she has real life experience and personifies the American Dream of working her way up from a middle class house hold to a VP Candidate. She takes on corruption …and WINS.
She was not born an elite with the silver spoon in her mouth like the others. She is real and gets it.

2. If you have bought into the cost of the wardrobe story, then you have already drank the kool-aid.
Do you think the Obama’s buy their own clothing? What about using the campaign plane to go see grandma in Hawaii twice. Think that was cheap. Secret Service men, pilot, plane, etc. And look at his clothes. His suits cost thousands, and look at the coat he is wearing. Do you think HE is paying for that, NO! Their campaign team are professionals at hiding things by now. The RNC bought those cloths for the convention. Most were sent back….or given to charity after she wore them. She made 110,000 last year…. she buys her clothes at a nice resale shop! AND WHO REALLY CARES!!??!? YOU paint yourself as a diligent, self thinker, but honestly you are one more sucker that has bought into the lies, deceit and negligence of the main stream elite media.

This bad choice to elect Obama affects house hold income of struggling families, it will cause loss of jobs, it will destroy NAFTA with Canada…one of our friends. It increases labor unions which is why American Auto Makers cannot make it in today’s workplace and jobs go offshore. It affects our security and it affects your children and grandchildren as the national debit and forthcoming inflation will preside. NEVER before has there been a man of so little character running for the highest office in the land. And never before did half a nation not care that he is a liar, cheat (ACORN) and inexperienced like none before him. BIden is a disaster at Foreign Affairs. YOU PICKED THAT?

YOu have your right to pick a loser. Just too bad you researched the wrong material. Personally,
I think you are a democrat and just wanted to make the speech. Not buying it.

Thank you,
- C

Lynn, your long email tells me a few things:

1. You say “I have been absolutely impressed that Barack Obama has run a campaign free of personal attacks on John McCain”. It is obvious you do not spend a whole lot of time watching tv.

2. You have a lot of time on your hands..

3. I need to vote for John and Sarah!!

GO SARAH! GO SARAH! GO SARAH! GO SARAH! GO SARAH!

I’ve figured out why you all hate Palin so much. I think women (and I am a woman) don’t like Palin because they think she got into her political positions because of her stunning good looks and confident personality.
