Obama Gives McCain’s SNL Performance Two Thumbs Up
COLUMBUS, OH - Barack Obama gave his GOP rival a rare compliment today at his 60,000 person rally in central Ohio.
“John McCain was funny yesterday on Saturday Night Live,” he said.
Obama missed McCain’s performance because he was on his way back to his hotel from a Missouri rally last night, but admitted he watched the skit on Youtube.
In what’s been a contentious campaign, Obama said, “That’s part of what our politics should be about, being able to laugh at each other, but also laugh at ourselves.”
Obama himself made a cameo on SNL last Halloween, and cancelled another scheduled appearance when Hurricane Ike threatened the Gulf Coast.
“We can argue and debate our positions passionately, but all of us have to summon the strength and the grace and the humor to bridge our differences and unite in common effort,” he said.

SEEMS THAT THE SO-CALLED “MAVERICK - HAS FAST BECOME A “DESPERADO” !!
NOW THE INEVITABLE IS ABOUT TO HIT THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN( A HUGE LOSS TO OBAMA) - HIS “SCORCHED “EARTH” POLICY OF POLITICS AND ” THE SKY IS FALLING”-CHICKN LITTLE” NEGATIVE POLITICS IS NOT GOING TO WORK.
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SENSE THE CHANGE THAT BARACK OBAMA IS ON THE VERY CUSP OF BRINGING TO THEM.
WHILE MCCAIN CONTINUES THROWING GARBAGE OUT THERE TO POTENTIAL VOTES,HE S FALLING ON DEAF EARS.
AMERICANS HAVE SEEN THIS ” ROVE-STYLE” POLITICAL BASHING IN THE PAST 8 YEARS. BUT LIKE OBAMA HAS SAID: ” NOT THIS TIME- NOT THIS YEAR”. AMERICAN VOTERS ARE MUCH AWARE OF THE LAST-MINUTE ” SCORN YOUR OPPONENT” POLITICS, SO SAVE YOUR MONEY MCCAIN- SARAH PALIN WILL NEED A NEW WARDROBE AFTER TUESDAY.
I was surprised SNL even had McC on their show this late in the game. He is likeable, has a real personality (one that is real not manufactured), and any is very humble to his country. I don’t think he can win now but I will vote for him. I do think if he had been given equal chance by all the networks, newspapers, and Hollywood, that Obama has been given he would be running away with the election. Please don’t let the media and all the folks living in their own dream world of Hollywood tell you who to vote for or make you think the race is over. In the words of McCain “stand up and fight America!!!!”Vote for a man of substance. He is really the change we need. Plus he loves his country . Anytime you really love something you will fight to the end to save it. He will fight for us. He has the experience. WE DO NEED A CHANGE BUT THE CHANGE OBAMA BRINGS IS DANGEROUS! He brings extra baggage of Ayers, Wright, Farrakhan, Acorn, partial birth abortion, among many other far left extremist radical people and ideas. Even he said (in his own words, “the Acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree” I’ve always heard this saying only with “apple”, guess ACORN is just always on his mind. Change is just a eye catching word to Obama. Bring America back and put some substance in the word Change. McCain has substance. His suit isn’t just stuffed full of someone else’s words and ideas. Obama’s patriotism must be examined!
I thought McCain was funny. He has a great sense of humor but I especially liked the “View” skit. Who ever the women were that did Whoopie Goldberg and Joy Behar were fantastic, I thought they were the real women until almost the end. The lady impersonating Joy Behar was exactly like her looks, personality and gestures…perfect. They could have picked someone a little prettier for Elisabeth Hasselbeck
McCain makes a horrible politician, but a GREAT COMEDIAN! I’ve been laughign at McCain’s stand-up comedy act for a year now. After Obama wins, I really hope that McCain starts a career as a comedian so the laughs can continue. It would be great if Palin stays with the act too, because watching the news about her is also hilarious to watch. McCain and Palin would be great on Saturday Night Live!!! They could even do a movie, and play Natasha and Boris on a new Rocky and Bullwinkle Show!
When did Obama ever had to laugh at any comedians pranks being practically all of them politically biased against the Republicans and doing the dirty job for him trying to demolish his political opponents?
Obama with these statements regarding McCain on SNL simply shows his hatred and desire to enslave his opponents. He is a racist that hates the USA and democracy and he doesn’t deserve to get elected.
The real sad joke on Americans here is Palin….Listening to Palin on the phone with “Sarkozy” was like eavesdropping on a VP or President Palin. How terrifying!!!!
Giggling like a star struck kid… Showing her ignorance over and over… not picking up on any of the hints…taking calls without proper screening…totally pathetic. I don’t want her ever representing the USA.
What on earth was McCain thinking when he picked her. Did she look up at him with her big brown eyes, do a wink, wink, wink and say “Maverick, Maverick, Maverick” to blind him to all sensibility.
Vote Obama!!! Bring snacks, a folding chair if you need it, and all of your patience!!!!
I so admire John McCain!!
A Real American Hero!!
No Bloviating about Hope and Change while you collect a whole group of Anti-American ‘Friends’
I trust John McCain and Sarah Palin and I’ll vote for people I can Really believe in!!!
I think that Obama’s comment shows how much bigger he is than McCain.
McCain is trying to get as much exposer as possible before the enivitable loss. McCain is a man of Honor but OBAMA 08
I pray that America chooses intelligence and class over ignorance and manipulation.
Obama will make an exceptional leader - calm, steady, far-sighted, wise.
I’m for McCain and I respect those that are for Obama. This post is about McCain on SNL. Why do people (Bobby) rant and rave on here and they don’t even mention the article that people are suppose to be commenting on? There are other boards for ranting.
Let’s set the record straight on so called “Failed Bush econimic policies”: Let’s recall the past 8 years. Our nation was attacked by terrorists who caused significant damage and, save for the actions of brave Americans, may have destroyed the White House or Capital building (or other site). It was a time of heart wrenching tragedy. Our country formed the Department of Homeland Defense to protect our nation (which was unanticipated and necessarily increased the scope and cost of government), and our airports. Our nation also attempted to twart those nations who were sponsoring terrorism, either directly or indirectly. Starting in late 2000, our tech industry started to nose dive. Naivity that the housing boom would never end, and greed (interest only payments, wait for the market to uptic, then sell the house for a profit; or accept an ARM under the same premise…also banking institutions which are fully culpable for their irresponsible lending policies) led to the decline and near collapse of the housing industry. Evil…it’s in the world, it influences people, it’s not going away in this age. Thank George Bush that he has the foresight to fight evil over there, and not in our own country. Freedom isn’t free, except to those who ‘think’ its free because they’ve never served their country as part of our defences, e.g. Police, Military, National Guard, Fire Departments, and more. Lastly, selfishness: so many things are bought on credit; we’re taught and encouraged to spend outside of our means…to keep the economy thriving. There was a time before plastic (credit cards) when people saved up for things, and then bought them. Houses were bought using mortgages and cars, which required a substantial down payment, were bought with loans from the bank. Bottom line: don’t blame the current administration for every thing wrong in our nation, and the world. Prosperity will not return to our nation from the inspired actions of people…it will return when we turn to Him who is greater and wiser than us. Which candidate for President embraces the sanctity of human life…prosperity is in that candidate. May God Bless America.
McCain should have picked Tina Fey as his running mate.
True, McCain is a funny man… Not what I am looking for in a president though…
and dear BLim, I think it is pretty clear that you are absolutely no racist
right?
Obama and Biden cant seal the deal,,, they know they’re losing and that’s why they have gone back to Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania so much in the last days of the campaign. McCain-Palin are clearly the right choice for our economy, our environment, our national security and our freedom,,, Obama’s stated goal to bankrupt the American coal industry is of vital interest to all Americans and particualarly to people in CO, OH, PA and everybody who uses utilities!
McCain did and an awesome job on SNL. He is very comical. The truth is that OBAMA wouldn’t be so far ahead if he didn’t raise and spend ONE BILLION dollars. He is not my candidate of choice because of his short tenure and political policies. American’s we need to say NOBAMA this election that our position of President can not be purchased by the highest bidder, because it’s not for sale, our government is not for sale, our democracy is not for sale, that we the public our not sell outs because we too are not for sale. We need REFORM in Washington and someone that’s not buying an entrance to the Presidency but has the track record, experience and the integrity to represent us as a UNITE NATION not pawns for their political careers. NOBAMA!!!!VOTE McCain!!!!
the more i watch fox news the more i feel compelled to vote for obama, see i already have 7 of my friends voting for obama by just recommend them to watch foxnew. mc cain is a decent and a great american hero but i just cannot vote for that lady he picked, she is way too radical, too extreme for any moderate republican. she has no knowledge of this world, she just got her passport like last year, never has been to foreing country, no, zero, nada foreign policy, she has never read the constitution, matter of fact she’s never read a book or a magazine. come on people do you want some one who believe that the war in iraq was a mission of god to be potus? please if there is any moderate republican who’s thinking to vote for mc cain, take a second at his vp.
thank you

Blim writes “Obama with these statements regarding McCain on SNL simply shows his hatred and desire to enslave his opponents. He is a racist that hates the USA and democracy and he doesn’t deserve to get elected”.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? Your statements don’t make any sense. Obama’s statements from above:
“John McCain was funny yesterday on Saturday Night Live, That’s part of what our politics should be about, being able to laugh at each other, but also laugh at ourselves. We can argue and debate our positions passionately, but all of us have to summon the strength and the grace and the humor to bridge our differences and unite in common effort,”
How in the world can you translate any of that to show “Obama’s hatred and desire to enslave his opponents” you state “He is a racist that hates the USA and democracy and he doesn’t deserve to get elected”
Are you on drugs???
ANNOY A LIB
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
BIDEN’S IQ IS - 146
MY DOG IS SMARTER
MCCAIN VICTORY WITH HONOR
Bobby-Oklahoma-
Your ignorance shows-you wouldn’t last two days outdoors in Sarah’s country-or McCain’s canyons either.
Doesn’t your hate just kind of knot up in your stomach sometimes?? I mean, don’t you just wish you could type Harder, with even Way bigger capitals?
I mean, don’t work yourself up into a stroke, after all
HOW MANY OF YOU AGREE WITH REV WRIGHTS “TEACHINGS OF AMERICA”?????????
JUST CURIOUS
how many of you agree with what rev wright said about america
It’s hard to say something bad about a really good decent human being….Shame we can’t do the same for Obama….
Hey folks, this was scripted just like all his and Palin speeches, comedy writers could make anyone funny, but it’ll take more than a good writer to make McCain an HONEST PERSON.
Yeah… As a REPUBLICAN, I love Obama for showing great respect and humor for his opponent. You know what? Obama is not so bad like McCain camp portrayed him to be, man this politic thing is dangerous to someones character, especially if you don’t do research for yourself. Obama is showing he is a mature youngman, unlike the guy I “was” going to vote for (McCain Palin), who has childessly released a new ad on such an old subjects concerning Rev. Wright issue. Man, I need McCain to tell me what he’s going to do for us supporters and frankly it seems Obama will do more for us than he’ll do for himself. Do you understand that Obama will also pay a higher tax bracket for the sake of us middle and poor class workers… that’s a heart warming sacrafice. My vote has shifted to Obama… the bigger and better man fit for PRESIDENT!! OBAMA for AMERICA!
Every one, remember to tune in on Fox news Tuesday night !!!!

Yes lets get the record straight. Wall Street and home owners are greedy and has always been so, that is capitalism. Republicans pushed for deregulation and got it. The 700B could cover the foreclosures but not the unregulated derivatives that the deregulated financial system created.
Iraq was and is a huge mistake that has cost 4000 American lives, 100,000 Iraq lives, 100s of billions of dollars and has not made us any safer, and possibly less safe. Had we spent those resources in Afghanistan or at home we would be far better off. Those are Bush’s decisions.
Obama has been endorsed by Warren Buffet, Ben Bernanke, Paul Krugman and Colin Powell, not exactly a bunch of crazy socialists. It is time to recognize that the GOP needs to rethink its strategy. Over the past 8 years, they have failed in ever respect.
i though fox was a good media outlet…. i can see that they too have stopped free speech… not one of my notes has been posted so the truth does come out doesn’t it…… You people at Fox are just a bad as the others…. I was really fooled…
Regardless of which political party wins, I hope the lesson learned by our politicians is when they begin to serve their own interests instead of the interests of the whole people, they can and will be replaced.
Vickie: NO WAY DO I AGREE WITH REV. WRIGHT. He sounds insane and sounds anti-American.
Under Senator Obama’s tax plan, Americans of every background would see their taxes rise–seniors, parents, small business owners, and just about everyone who has even a modest investment in the market. Obama sends “Bonus Welfare Checks” to non-workers paid for by every American worker!

Obama will increase the corporate tax to 39.6 %, capital gains and dividend taxes to 28% on small business’ earning more than $250 thousand??, inheritance tax 45% (When a guy wants to tax inheritances 45% so that “families can’t amass fortunes to leave to their kids”, that is communism.), payroll surcharge tax to 4% and income taxes on a family earning $42,000 annually. Be afraid. Be very afraid!

Here are some of the burdens that a Marxist Obama will transfer to you and your family if he is elected: soaring interest rates; a bankrupt Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Education systems; surging taxes on everything you purchase; trillions of dollars more in Federal debt to fund his vote getting, GIVE away socialism; No drill energy policy; $700 billion annually to enemy countries for OIL; increase in gas and heating fuel prices; an impoverished retirement account for you in your twilight years.

Brad O’Leary, author of “The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama’s War on American Values.” “You can’t give a tax cut to 95 percent of Americans if only 70 percent of them pay federal income taxes in the first place.” Obama’s “Bonus Welfare Checks!”

Union Leaders do NOT lose their jobs, salaries, families, homes, limousines during strikes or when companies close. Unions destroy commerce! Union bosses are arriving at American workers homes with huge, intimidating gorillas trying to force them to sign their union membership cards…or else.

by the way, choman, in the skit of “The View”, some of those women were played by men. Not all of them were women. Just making sure you knew. I very much agree that that was a hilarious skit.
Actually Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg were both played by men. They did a good job, it was hilarious.
Vickie I don’t agree with many of the things Rev. Wright has said but I do temper my understanding by looking at the environment they grew up in. I have far less charity for the many white ministers of Gov. Palin’s persuasion who have said stupid things like Hurricane Katrina was God’s judgement on New Orleans.
That was the real McCain on SNL — funny, self-deprecating, endearing — so unlike the campaign he’s run this time. Surrounding himself with the very people who swift-boated him in 2000 and adopting their tactics just revealed another side to him. Combined with the frighteningly poor decision he made with Palin and his floundering positions over the economy, he’s just not the right man for the job. Obama has shown steadiness and wisdom, qualities I want in a leader.
In the Words of Lewis Farrakhan announced Obama is reorganizing and revitalizing The Nation of Islam. Minister Farrakhan (Muslin Leader) Speaks about Barack Obama Being the Messiah There is something Very Wrong with This! Does Farrakhan mean that Obama is reorganizing and revitalizing America for the Nation of Islam?
Accuracy in Media has this bombastic article up on Barack Obama, Obama’s Communist Mentor, AIM Column, By Cliff Kincaid, February 18, 2008 However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his “poetry” and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just “Frank.” The reason is apparent: Davis was a known communist who belonged to a party subservient to the Soviet Union. In fact, the 1951 report of the Commission on Subversive Activities to the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii identified him as a CPUSA member. What’s more, anti-communist congressional committees, including the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), accused Davis of involvement in several communist-front organizations. === http://thelonggoodbye.wordpress.com/2008/02/20/barack-obama-and-frank-marshall-davis/
Blim- Clearly YOU are the racist who hates the USA. Get a grip.
Once upon a time, young pre-school Obama reached across the pre-school isle and took toys from the 4 richest kids in class. He then exercised the Democratic virtue of sharing with the “less fortunate” kids in the class. The children learned quickly how to avoid ambition and hard work. They all grew up Democrats with great virtue and got Government jobs. Soon the country had no one working. THE END.
And what happened to the sketch of Obama’s ears getting bigger everytime he mentions the tax income limit, or that he’s not a friend of William Ayers…?
You betcha! Whatever candidate “celebrities” love…..I’m voting for the other guy!
McCain/Obama ‘08!
ted811: Sounds likie the USSR. They’re not around any more, either.
