McCain to Obama: “My country has never had to prove anything to me”
SPRINGFIELD, VA — John McCain took aim Saturday at remarks Barack Obama recently made in which the Democrat said his faith in America “was vindicated” when he won the Iowa caucuses.
“We learn more and more about Senator Obama. He said the other day that his primary victory ‘vindicated’ his faith in America,” McCain said to boos from more than 3,000 supporters at his rally in Northern Virginia today. “My country has never had to prove anything to me, my friends. I have always had faith in it and I have been humbled and honored to serve it. “
Reviving a line that Obama has used repeatedly since his victory in Hawkeye State last January, the Democratic nominee told his Des Moines rally Friday, that, “on the day of the Iowa caucus, my faith in the American people was vindicated and what you started here in Iowa has swept the nation.”
UPDATE–2:50pm ET: Obama campaign response:
“It’s pathetic that John McCain would take a statement Barack Obama has been making for a year about his faith in the American people and distort it to attack his patriotism,” said Obama spokesman Bill Burton. “Sadly, this is what we’ve come to expect from a desperate, dishonorable campaign that will say anything in a failed attempt to win this election.”

Obama is does NOT understand what it is to be American. He is a socialist with a racist background judging from his comment.
I’m still waiting to hear just what country Barry is a citizen of……
Is it the USA, Kenya, Indonesia????? one, two, all three???
Is he a naturalized citizen???? Qualified to be president??
We don’t know because all we have is a forged birth certificate.
The gov of HI is protecting his records as well as the Kenyan gov.
Doesn’t this seem a little strange!!!!!!!?????????
Sounds like a similar comment from Michelle Obama a while back
Obama is certainly no John F. Kennedy-President Kennedy had it right with “ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for your Country.” Maybe Obama should take the advise of a beloved Democrat.
Obama does not like the US constitution. He wants to bring about economic and social systems to this country that have been proven NOT to work in other parts of the world, socialism and Marxism. I was born in a country whose system was based on Marxism…it is terrible, it does not work. Why is it that the best innovations and discoveries were created in the USA…not in Iran, Cuba or Venezuela? The democracy and freedom that citizens enjoy in this wonderful country allows individuals to grow and innovate. That is not the process that happens in a socialized governments. A Socialized medical healthcare system controlled by the government does not work. Obama’s thinking is from 100 years ago. The people of socialized countries are moving towards our democracy and Obama wants to take us back to systems that have failed. Obama’s Change will be a “Change for Worse” things to come.
He is a liar…see this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXnAK0Atzy8
Only a self-centered character like Obama would judge his country by whether or not he could win the Iowa caucus.
America needs great moral leaders like John McCain and Sarah Palin who care about life and good values.
America does not need barack obama!!
There is a subtle theme coming out of the Obama camp. Obama was surprised that Americans would put their country first and vote regardless of race? Michelle made the comment that this was the “first” time she was proud of her country. Do not get me started on the comment “clinging to their guns and religion”. Honestly I would gloss over a lot of this but Obama’s circle of contacts before coming to national spotlight concerns me. He has surrounded himself by folks that believe that capitalism is evil, that racism is the county’s biggest problem, and that the US is typically a force for wrong in the world. You couple these comments with this background and it should give you pause.
What about the economy?
HOW ABOUT ASKING OBAMA MR. MCCAIN, TO RESPOND TO HIS RADICAL SUPPORTERS, COMMENT’S THAT HE PRAISED HIM FOR DURING THE TAPE, THE LA TRIBUNE HAS?

Obama has to make comments about McCain because neither Obama or his wife respect America, it shows true with his friends and what he wants for America. One ruler!! Also I can’t believe he can make decisions because he was is church for 20 years, but did not hear anything, he has friends and knows nothing about them, he has family (I believe I am correct) but his grandmother in Hawaii is his last living relative. He still has his grandmother in Kenya, where he was born. Still no birth certificate and why not if he is truly an American citizen. Question after question.
This highlights why McCain is losing. Having the opportunity to run a positive campaign what he has resorted to, instead, are desperate attempts to discredit Obama with misleading “gotcha” moments. It’s not only beneath a serious candidacy, its adolecent. In every case he’s taken Obama’s words out of context and twisted them to his own advantage.
The fact that Obama has resisted responding in kind, choosing instead to highlight the differences between his policies and McCain’s may be the biggest reason why Obama is going to win this election. I’m hoping, in fact, that Obama wins by such a landslide that this kind of divisive politics will be thoroughly discredited.
Our country cannot take much more of what Bush and McCain represent. It’s time for a change.
I DON’T BELIEVE THEIRS A MAN ALIVE THAT CAN LOVE AMERICA MORE THAN JOHN MCCAIN…DONT GET ME WRONG.. WE ALL LOVE AMERICA… BUT YOU CAN SEE IT IN JOHN MCCAIN HE REALLY LOOOVVVES AMERICA ITS IN HIS EYES AND IN HIS SPEECH…….IT MAKES ME PROUD THAT I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE FOR HIM…..GOD GO WITH YOU…. JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT
open your mind see facts… see both sides… waiting for mccain n palin to loose.
Oh exalted One, we bow down before thee. You can do no wrong. You grant the grace that we vote by. We question not, for fear that thee would cast us out. The media has made you strong, and your wrath upon them will not be spared. For they will expect favors for which you will not deign to grant. You are the One.
Given the comments preceding this one, it seems clear that the only people still supporting McCain are conspiracy theorists and impressionable rubes.
The dishonorable campaign and distortion is created by the Democrats and all their puppets from the media, news and entertainment Hollywood sectors.
They have brainwashed people to trust the void that Obama really is all about. The only thing for sure is that Obama will raise taxes and help terrorists and regimes worldwide.
Obama said his faith had been vindicated. TRANSLATION: He HAS faith, or it could not BE vindicated. Vindicated means that his LIFELONG FAITH IN AMERICAN VOTER is proven correct, BUT HE ALWAYS HAD THE FAITH TO BEGIN WITH— and he did NOT need it to be “proven” like McBush tries to twist it now.
Don’t McBush-Palin have ANYTHING to offer besides attack attack attack? Who needs THAT? What economic or social or military problems will THAT approach solve? They are both empty suits— and we already had EIGHT YEARS of “all hat, no cattle” so we don’t need to elect McBush to see what HIS term would look like.
Restore democracy after two stolen elections because THREE STRIKES and we’re out!
Of course the USA never had to prove anything to John McCain; he was born a privileged white kid, as was I. People of privilege have a hard time figuring out what the underprivileged are complaining about. I get what Obama was getting at, and it’s not what McCain wants us to think he’s getting at. Anybody who’s been alive 20 years or more in this country knows that racism is always a subcurrent; when white folks in the South vote for Obama because he represents them, well, I kinda feel what Obama feels. It’s respect for your country — not derision.
McCain Palin are the candidates for redneck racists, and all you racist rednecks are now a minority, so stop the hate and get used to being the newest minority. The GOP is telling its last lie.

Obama is does NOT understand what it is to be American. He is a socialist with a racist background judging from his comment.
Oh he does understnad what it is to be an American and he is an American. America can be better than it has been the last 8 years. Why do you think so many prominent republicans are voting for him.
A socialist? You mean like Reagan?

When the Earned Income Tax Credit was expanded in the Tax Reform Act of 1986, President Reagan, who signed the bill into law, called the EITC “the best anti-poverty, the best pro-family, the best job-creation measure to come out of Congress.”
The EITC provides a tax credit to very low-income working families. The credit can exceed federal income tax liability, meaning that some very low-income families actually receive a check from the IRS. Since pretty much all working people pay federal payroll taxes (and also some federal excise taxes like the gasoline tax) even if they don’t owe income taxes, the EITC seemed like a justifiable break for struggling families.
Leaders of both parties agreed, as did President Reagan. That’s as close to a consensus as anyone finds in Washington. It seemed this was one sort of tax cut that everyone supported.
Until now. Presidential candidate John McCain, who often claims to emulate Ronald Reagan, has lately argued that tax breaks exceeding income tax liability are “welfare,” and has even suggested that they are socialism. While McCain’s views are not entirely clear (since his own health care plan includes a refundable tax credit that would also benefit people without income tax liability) it’s difficult to square his hostility towards Obama’s proposed refundable tax credits with his tributes to the president who supported similar policies. As a short paper from CTJ explains, under McCain’s new logic, even George W. Bush is a socialist.
Pinning down where Senator McCain stands on taxes has never been easy. He originally opposed the Bush tax cuts, saying. “I don’t believe the wealthiest 10% of Americans should get 60% of the tax breaks. I think the lowest 10% should get the breaks.”
Interesting to see that a post I put up critical of this piece was not published. Could it be that Fox is afraid of criticism?
You mean the economy that the democratic congress and the friends of Obama have manipulated to give them power over America?
“My country has never had anything to prove to me,my friends” So said Senator McCain.
Of course not, your white Johnny. Vindication came about because a western mostly white voter state supported and voted for a black man. For once, I would like the McCain/Pathetic ticket to stop attacking, obfuscating and just tell us what the hell you plan to do. Do you have a plan to follow through on? What is it? Lay it out step by step. Stop the attacking, you do so because you know not what to do.
If you believe O has faith..then watch this.

This is regarding McCain’s comment “my country never had to prove anything to me.” I am wondering if Mr McCain had said the same thing if his ancestors were brought to this country in captivity and had been kept as slaves for hundred or more years after their arrival here. Obama is absolutely right — 1) This is a great country. Its constitution is more perfect than any other nation’s constitution. 2) So we all have a lot of reasons to believe that this country has been moving in the right direction and will keep doing so. 3) But it does not mean that we have been perfect and all our faiths are already vindicated. There may be many people in the country –of all colors– whose faiths need to be ascertained and vindicated over and over again.
If McCain goes to Vietnam and says that his faith in new Vietnamese leadership is now vindicated, who could blame him. Boy! what an ironic analogy but it applies.

Why are the most current comments shown at the bottom of this message board? To keep the “racist” allegation/comment at the top?
Sounds similar to McCain when he said “I really didn‘t love America until I was deprived of her company.”
So, it appears McCain does not know the meaning of the word “vindicate.”

Racism in the words of Obama
Well said, Rose. What McCain and Palin have been counting on is the stupidity of the American public. Exhibition A are the comments that appear on this site on a regular basis. I mean to say sometning like “neither Obama nor his wife respect America” is so dimwitted that it doesn’t deserve a response. The good thing is that this is exactly what the Obama campaign has done - ignored them. Sometimes that’s the best way to deal with ignorance.

Rosie…”A Socialized medical healthcare system controlled by the government does not work.” Well…are you quite sure about that statement considering the United States is the only industrialized nation without national healthcare? Tell Canada it doesn’t work. Tell the UK it doesn’t work. Or maybe France? Their healthcare systems are much better than what we currently have. The difference is that we pay more for ours.
All this talk from everyone about Socialism is ridiculous. Why complain about socialism when dealing with healthcare, but not argue against the other socialist policies we have in this country? I know why…because you don’t understand it apparently. $800 billion dollar bailout of privately owned banks? (not to mention the other bailouts) Come on, how much more socialist can you get. How come you people complaining about Socialism don’t complain about the fire or police departments? How about social security? We already have Socialism in with our democracy.
Is McCain losing his mind, or was he always this dimwitted?
Maybe because McCain quit in 2000 and lost in 2004 ??? Dont seem like he trust any one, not even his own shadow.. And what did you ever have to fear ?? always been paid by the government, never had to do any real work or compete for work at minimum pay.
If OBAMA does not win and the election is stolen from HIM, there will be blood bath and the rivers shall flow Red. The apcalypse and armageddon shall be rolled into one and the free world as we know it will cease.
Palin will be another Bush with Agression and arrogance but no substance. She is the stooge of the oil companies….and it will be america’s bridge to nowhere.
The nerve of you, McCain, using Obama’s anti-American sentiments against him
When I heard Obama say this I thought it was an ambiguous thing to say.
His campaign needs to delete this from his speech even though he
was talking about how hard he thought it would be for a black candidate
to win and feels that the reception by all races has vindicated
his belief in the American people welcoming a black president
at this time in history. However, the opposition is poking and pulling now.
It was too easy to get caught on this at a time when both campaigns are
literally hanging on to every word of these VERY tired politicians.
EXCUSE ME FOLKS…….You are forming your beliefs on McCain’s FALSE QUOTES/SPIN on Obama’s statements. Then you go off and make statements on the blogs with quotes around them attributing them to Obama rather than McCain. These distortions and fear tactics are what have turned the people off. McCain is a good man and statesman but he is not at the level of Obama’s leadership and intellectual capabilities in leading our country. These divisive tactics not only to separate himself from Obama but to also divide America into labeled groups of the good and bad is not leadership. That is not leadership. Vote OBAMA/BIDEN!
If Bush hadn’t screwed the American people over the last 8 years, people wouldn’t act as though they don’t care what John McCain and his minions say about Barack Obama. Therefore in light of this obvious observation, thank you Mr. Bush!!
Vote Obama and he will treat americans just like his brother in Kenya living with $1 a month. I guess he doesnt share his wealth, but he wants us hardworking americans (selfish as he said) share our wealth. My boss already showed his business plan if Obama wins. He will cut our raises from 6% to 3%, no annual bonuses. I am sure those $500 will make up for all I am going to lose. I dont blame my boss. I am sure I am not alone on this? Am I? Have you asked your boss about his/her business plan?
I AM TIRED OF ALL THE POLLS THAT SUPPOSEDLY SHOWS OBAMA AHEAD. THE NEWS MEDIA HAS MADE THEIR MINDS UP A LONG TIME AGO, AND THEY ARE VERY BIAS. PEOPLE NEED TO LOOK AT THE TYPE PEOPLE THAT OBAMA SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH. I THINK THE MAN HAS BEEN VERY DISHONEST WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, AND EVERYTIME HE SAYS HE DID NOT KNOW THAT A PETICULAR PERSON HAD DONE SUCH A THING, OR AN AUNT THAT IS HERE ILLEGALLY, OR THAT HE NEVER HEARD HIS MINISTER MAKE THOSE KIND OF STATEMENTS ABOUT THIS COUNTRY. THIS MAN WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET INTO THE WHITEHOUSE. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE, AS THE MEDIA STATES IT TO BE. IT IS A MAN THAT DOES ONE THING AND REALLY STANDS FOR SOMETHING ELSE. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

Guess the whole article is kind of debunked now isn’t it. OBAMA ALWAYS HAD FAITH.
So does mccain not know the English language very well?
All the GOP stands for now is GREEDY OLD PEOPLE… the NEW GOP is will have to change its acronym to NEOCONPARTY since they love Palin-Gingrich-Rove-Cheney so much. Let them run on hate and see how far that gets them. It won’t inspire anything but more attacks like 9′11 because that’s what the NEOCONS attracted after SELECTING Bush.
While that idiot tried to read MY PET GOAT, the NeoCons caused the attack on America, and then used THAT as an excuse to try to invade THE WRONG COUNTRY (Iraq) SO THAT Halliburton and Exxon could get rich stealing the DEMOCRAT SURPLUS.
Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……. Vote for McBush?
Yeah, right…
@ Javalation
Beautiful. So much, I have to repost that quote again.
***************************************************************
John McCain: “I really didn‘t love America until I was deprived of her company.”
As usual, Fox News comments - ground zero for the intentionally self-misinformed.
How nice of John McCain to point out his “whiteness” and bring race into this. His country has never said it was OK to buy and sell him or hold him in slavery. His country has always given him the right to vote and to go anywhere he likes, eat anywhere he likes. Unfortunately, this has not been true of many citizens of this great United States.
John McCain also voted AGAINST recognizing Martin Luther King, voted against equal pay for women. So, which country does he support? The one that denies rights HE enjoys to each and every citizen? Or the one that recognizes that each and every one of us are equal under the eyes of the law?
What could this country have to prove to John McCain? He has been allowed to divorce an infirmed wife and marry someone richer, letting others help his wife find employment. He spreads lies about those he feels he is competing with. Where is the honor in these actions? Yes, you don’t hear the Obama campaign railing on them. THAT’s what makes Obama better in my eyes.
MCSHAME HAS HIS JOE—JOE McCARTHY
fox news is a joke. Obama is going to win, get over it.
vin·di·cate (vĭn’dĭ-kāt’) Pronunciation Key

2. To provide justification or support for: vindicate one’s claim.
3. To justify or prove the worth of, especially in light of later developments.
4. To defend, maintain, or insist on the recognition of (one’s rights, for example).
5. To exact revenge for; avenge
Mccain just plays on thinking people are stupid enough to not know what vindicated means, as he has done many times with many “big words” Obama has used. Which means, in essence, to all that jumped on this ranting about how unpatriotic Obama is, Mccain thinks you’re stupid.

Is This A True Story? However, a CNN poll taken moments after Obama’s speech revealed that the candidate’s misstep may have simply gotten lost amid the 24-hour news cycle. Though most citizens said they would prefer a candidate who thinks he’d be a good president, 23 percent said they would still vote for someone who thinks he would make an okay president. Furthermore, 35 percent of citizens said they would vote for a nominee who promised to be a serviceable, or even a so-so, president. Forty-two percent of citizens polled said that, at this point, a “just plain bad” president would also be good enough. “I am more certain than ever that I will vote for Obama,” Windham, NH resident James Kilner said. “This is the first time I have really connected with a candidate, mainly because I think I would make a pretty bad president, too.” As of press time, the McCain camp has yet to respond to the potentially damaging blunder. However, many feel this is exactly what the Arizona senator needed following a mistake he made earlier in the week when he said that “a vote for McCain is a vote for mass genocide.” Return to theonion.com for live, all-day election coverage on November 4th and 5th
Cont. “My youth and inexperience would definitely make me an awful president,” said Obama, whose seven-minute misstep was further exacerbated when he called himself “no expert” on the economy. “To be perfectly honest, I’d be worried about putting me in charge of the most powerful military in the world because I’m not any good when it comes to making important decisions. Also, I’m not sure how much I care about keeping this great nation of ours safe.” “I’m an elitist, I hate Israel, and I want to lose the war in Iraq,” Obama concluded, and then, seemingly unaware of the magnitude of his blunder, smiled, gave a thumbs-up to the stunned crowd, and urged his supporters to get out and vote on Nov. 4. Immediately following the speech, Obama campaign officials released a written statement alleging that their candidate’s comments had been taken out of context. In addition, Obama’s top adviser David Axelrod claimed that the senator was quoting former president Abraham Lincoln when he said, “I am not the guy to head the executive branch of the United States government. Trust me. I’m really not.” Beltway observers agreed that the gaffe could come back to haunt Obama on Election Day.

HOW TO TEAR DOWN A CAPITALIST REPUBLIC AND REPLACE WITH A SOCIALIST DEMOCRACY Cloward Piven Crisis Strategy - Strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. First proposed in 1966 and named after Columbia University (Obama’s college) sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse. Their strategy is to create political, financial, and social chaos that would result in revolution and a change in U.S. government. To achieve their revolutionary change, Cloward and Piven blended Alinsky community organizing concepts with more aggressive organizer tactics and assisted by friendly news media to force a re-distribution of the nation’s wealth.

I believe in the Republican ideals but the neoconservative movement has high-jacked the party. Our beloved W. is turning the free market financial system into a socialist one. I don’t want my tax dollars going to big business simply because there is a fear of what might happen. The cold hard facts are if you run a business poorly and it fails it’s your responsibility, not the tax paying public.
Like a good Republican I also don’t believe the US should play an imperialist role in the world and yet we find ourselves in 2 wars and perhaps 2 more on the horizon (Iran & North Korea). Government spending has sky rocketed causing larger deficits and weakening our economy. I thought McCain could help us overcome these challenges but the choice of Palin was a clear attempt at pandering to the neoconservative group that has taken the party in a direction that is the antithesis of what we, Republicans, believe.

Only a self-centered character like Obama would judge his country by whether or not he could win the Iowa caucus.

i so agree. is this to say that he didnt have faith in america until he was elected in iowa? his wife isnt proud of america, his friends are anti american and now we are selfish and unpatriotic because we want to keep the money that we earn so that we can feed our kids, pay bills, get medical care etc. im sorry peeps but this man is SO not a real american and surely should not be president. i think that the reason why he hates america so much is because the black population does. now hear me out. those that feel that america has done nothing for them (america didnt give them jobs, a house, medical care, a good life, the american dream) are the very one sthat will not respect and appreciate this country. they do not consider themselves true americans. you have to love this country in good times and bad to be able to cry at the sound of the national anthem. you have to swell with pride when you view the military marching in unison or when you pledge allegiance to the flag. many black folks do not share this feeling or this love for the usa because they feel that they were never accepted as rwere never considered americans by society as a wholelal a t onot held any favor with them atrue americans. for this reason, obama sides with the blacks and any other group, really, that feels the same way. so when he says he has no faith, he doesnt and neither do most blacks, when michelle says she is not proud, she isnt but neither are blacks. and so YOU will elect a black man for what? because you think it will give the people relief and free their guilt filled hearts. please dont do that for me. i dont suffer from white guilt and i am proud to be an american.

“QUOTE”
KHALIDI: The second thing to keep in mind about American foreign policy is that it is largely determined by domestic considerations almost all the time. There are many other things that go into it. But domestic considerations are always extremely important.
And these are often quite mundane; indeed these are sometimes appallingly crass interest. They are the kind of things that move domestic politics in Chicago — money, votes, corruption, bribery, influence peddling, back-door deals.
The kind of things that Cook County, the city of Chicago, the state of Illinois, the politics on the local level work through and because of. The kind of you scratch my back and I scratch yours kind of (INAUDIBLE) type of dealing, which we — which we — when it’s talked about in the Middle East it’s considered revolting and degrading and third world corruption.
It’s actually what oils American politics. If you don’t know this you’re not living in the United States.
END QUOTE!
HOW, I LOVE ALL THE MEDIA HYPE,THAT THAT, WORD IS ALSO, DERIVITIVE OF HYPACRIT, AND THAT IS WHAT OBAM AND BIDEN ARE, Doing! THEIR TALKING POINTS IS: Hypercritic, hype the Agenda, that it’s “All BUSH’S” FAULT? That is too, hypocritical and Therefore, With the MEDIA HYPE, “ALSO”? In this campaign, for Obama, and SO, Anti-McCain! It would seem to me and Most of the rest of the Republicans, That if McCain takes away, Anything from this treatment, it will be:
” TO WIN THIS ELECTION! “
Please note that saying “my faith was vindicated” means very precisely “my faith was proven to be right, reasonable, and justified”. Look it up.
The fact that any of you, including McCain, can misunderstand the English language so grievously, and then use your ignorance to attack Obama, should give you pause.
I mean really, is the word “vindicated” too advanced to use in modern political discourse? From McCain’s attack and the general response here, it would appear so. But I have faith in the intelligence of the American people, and on Nov 4th, I hope my faith will be vindicated.
How does it feel to ignorant? There’s not one thing you’ve said here that jibes with real facts (that is, real facts, not republican-based delusional “facts”). The rest is the rant of a scared, angry coward who doesn’t realise the world has moved beyond his stone age rhetoric.
Obama will be President. And there will be a huge smile on my face the second it happens, because it will mean useless folks like yourself with your small neocon minds will become powerless again like you deserve to be.
Gee, did Rose’s intelligent comment debunking the whole premise of this article stop this message board dead in its tracks?
I have news for all you right wingnuts. The country is changing, the population is changing, you’re slowly becoming a minority and as a result, the desperate comments support that notion. The next generation coming is will be mostly from new immigrants and many of them are starting to use rational thinking and reasoning in their their lives……….rather than resort to fear mongering (based on religion and or patriotism) to try and sway others. McCain wants to take Joe The Plumber to D.C with him. That’s what our country aspires to………..a moron led by another moron in lipstick to lead us.
All three cable networks were discussing Obama’s tax plan on their money shows and all three were questioning whether or not it would work. After of about 12 people only 3 thought it was a good plan and would work. All three groups said that he would have to raise taxes to pay for the plan and the debt. One CNN person said it was a fairy tale. Another said it would hurt the older middle class investors. So much for spreading the wealth. I’m sure his aunt woud like to have some of his money.
You’d think I’d be used to it by now, but I’m not and I hope I never will be. This oxymoronic viewpoint that says, “True patriotism never questions the acts and policies of government.” This is such balderdash. Of course, patriots (e.g. those who love their country) have not only the right to question our government, they hav
