Let’s see. Government bails out large corporations. Government bails out banks. Government buys out bank. Government sends billions to Iraq (which by the way has Billions of it’s own in surplus). Now who am I afraid of McaCain/Bush? Or Obama who at least wants to help working middle class families like my own? Last year my family spent over$24,000 on healthcare (taking from the kids college fund). McCains plan will do nothing for my hard working family.

McCain appears to be running for “Waffler in Chief”: his snarky comments and libelous negative campaigning have only shown that he can go from one set of ideas at the start of his campaign to another set of ideas entirely by the end of it. While Obama’s discussions depict a steady hand at the helm throughout his campaign, McCain is waffling wildly from the issues he began campaigning with, to his campaign running almost entirely on what Obama’s NOT going to do for this country. Maybe he should take a cue from his opponent and discuss what he’s going to do, instead of what soon-to-be Commander in Chief Obama isn’t, so that his desperate attempts to sway voters so late in the game doesn’t come off so easily as such.

Republicans have always been if favor of redistributing wealth. They have no problem redistributing it on Wall Street in the form of government bailouts. They have no problem redistributing it in Iraq and Afghanistan. They only have a problem redistributing it to the middle class in America.

I guess if your rich, like McCain, you want to hold onto your money. I remember before Reagan there were virtually no homeless people. Society tried to care for the less fortunate. Then, the ridiculous policies of the Reagan years consolidated wealth in the hands of the few. Anyone who was “poor” was looked upon as a good-for-nothing. So, if they ended up suffering, with no home, no health-care, etc. it was all right. I can see that McCain wants to continue the policies that guarantee an immense gap between the wealthy and everyone else. In fact the US has the fourth largest wealth gap in the world; behind three third-world countries. McCain is trying to scare everyone telling them that Obama wants to work to flatten out the curve and make it possible for more people to live a good life. And many people are foolish enough to fall for that line of fear. In fact McCain and the other rich people in this country are counting on getting enough people to vote against their own and the country’s best interest so that they can continue to get wealthier while the rest of us get poorer. This has been the strategy of every backward country for centuries. Don’t fall for it!!!

Apparently, McCain wants to eliminate the progressive income tax, despite the fact that some people are failing to make ends meet working two jobs, while others can afford private jets and 200 foot yachts. After all, some poor guy working for $7.50 an hour can just as easily afford a 20% tax as somebody who buys and sells baseball teams, right? Thanks, John - We’re drowning and you want to throw us an anchor. I’d say that this, and not remembering just how many houses you own, makes it pretty clear where you stand economically-for and with the selfish, greedy fat cats who are fleecing us for a TRILLION DOLLARS! Throw the bum out! Now!

Aren’t we glad that Obama is not in charge of anything near Syria. Thank GOD, when we elect John MCCain we will get a man that understands dealing with terrorist, instead of dining with them. McCain has lost all ability to address the issues that face Americans or he has become so obsessed with being president he has lost all ability to think and layout a plan that makes sense for someone to vote for him.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities has highlighted the work of Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez, two economists who long have examined the problem. Using 2006 IR data, they found that:

1) income of the top 1 percent of households increased 5.8 percent; income for the bottom 90 percent increased 1.4 percent.

2) Since 2002, income gowth of the top 1 percent is 42 (there is no missing decimal point in that figure) percent; the bottom 90 percent experienced a 4.7 percent gain.

3) Not since 1928, the eve of the Great Depression, had the top 1 percent claimed such a large share of the country’s income.

4) Productivity has increased (by 20 percent) and still middle class incomes have lagged.

This is the effect of the Reagan/Bush/McCain tax policy. Don’t use scare words like “socialism” and “communism” if tax rates are increase on higher income people. Look at the effect of the current tax policy on incomes. This is the policy that is not sustainable.

Having viewed the radio interview at another news source its apparent FOX News once again is showing that it has no intention of being accurate. Its about time someone press them for the truth. But they never have been accused of having a open mind.

In the last two Bush elections, Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Big Tobacco bankrolled Bush to the hilt. No complaints then from Republicans, as a small oligarchy of corporations was buying the US Presidency away from 300 million Americans!

We didn’t donate enough to Gore’s & Kerry’s campaigns to help them defeat the Republican sleaze machine. They lost, and we, the people, lost big time - Republican-made disasters just keep on breaking down on us every day!

But we learned from that experience - today, more than 3 million citizens have donated between $5 and $100 to the Obama campaign.

As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:

5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it’s “good to spread the wealth.” Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more “patriotic.”

6. The last few people who were hired should clean- out their desks. Don’t feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you extended unemployment, free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he’ll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can’t pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn’t all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!!

If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

This is a game-changer. The only way this could backfire on McCain is if Obama happens to be wearing rubber, while McCain is wearing glue.

The United States has had a graduated income since the system began in the early 1900’s. It’s based upon what economists refer to as “the ability-to-pay-principle”. Back in the 60’s we had tax margins of over 60% on the highest incomes! Reagan reduced the top tax to something around 39%. Bush cut that top percent to around 35%. Obama is proposing raising it again to about the same level it was under Reagan AND reducing the middle class rates. I don’t think anyone would dare suggest that Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and Bush the First were socialists or Marxists!

Everyone needs to stop walking on eggs about Obama. HE IS A SOCIALIST. HE BUILT HIS CAREER ON COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AS TRAINING FOR SOCIAL REVOLUTION AND FORMING COALITIONS OF POWER FOR THE PURPOSE OF REDISTRIBUTING WEALTH BY SUCH COALITIONS, outside the court system.

Obama doesn’t care if the coalitions involve fraud, corruption, felons, anti-American extremists, terrorists, or our foreign enemies who have vowed to destroy us. If his links benefit him, even for a time, he’ll take it. If they become too much of a political liability, he’ll jettison them.

P.S. As corrected elsewhere, Obama calling himself a Constitutional Law Professor is wrong, and another example of his deceit for personal gain. He was a lecturer at a law school in Chicago and taught a course that included constitutional law.

As a doctor who has been in the tenured professor track in the halls of academia, I know full well that it’s far more rigorous to earn the title of Professor, which is the ultimate tenure track academic position. Lecturers from the community are not held to any of the academic, intellectual and accomplishment standards of professors.

You want socialism, go to Sweden or another Scandanavian or European country. We’re capitalists here. What you people don’t seem to get is that you could redistribute all the money in our great country evenly to all our citizens and within a week you would again have rich and poor. You would think that betweeen adoring comments that the Obama campaign recieves from the press that someone would ask how you can give an income tax rebate to someone that does not pay income tax. Remember Obama is touting 95% of all American will get an “income tax break”. Lets do the math. Currently 40% of all income tax filers have NO income tax liability and yet Obama promises them an income tax “rebate”. If you want to give money to those folks call it a subsidy or a payroll tax rebate but it has nothing to do with an income tax cut.

On the point about the Earned Income tax credit—It was never intended for $40% of Americans!

Some Democrats are proposing eliminating the tax deferment for 401K retirement plans. They even go so far as to detail their plans for siezing these accounts. Given the high probability that Obama will be president, does anyone in the main stream press have the temerity to ask where he stands on this issue?

It is not just Obama who wants to raise our taxes so that the Democrats would have more money to spend and more government to feed. Here is a part of the published article:

How many of you received a nice little rebate check? I know my mother did and she isn’t even in the middle class and she received one. Looks like the perfect storm may result in our getting a smooth talking evasive lawyer into the WH. Bush inherited a recession in 01 & although GW turned out to be a disappointing communicator to the nation at least he didn’t use the WH as a bully pulpit for the blame game. Watch Obama & the adoring left wing mainstream media blame Bush for the next couple years of likely economic pain. Of course economic cycles eventually come full cycle & when this one finally improve it will be nauseating to watch BO eloguently take all the credit for the “turnaround” just in time for his 2010 run. But all Americans need to rally behind whomever wins & we can only hope ol Joe s wrong about his guarantee that other nations will test Barack early on. If they do test him it will certainly help unite a painfully divided country.

I just want to comment on all of these posts and what they mean to the public in general. For the most part on this issue the only side that makes any sense is the conservatives. As a fellow right winger so pointed out before me, all of the times OBAMA has voted to RAISE taxes or to not allow some tax cuts. That is the liberal way tax and spend tax and spend. We have no tax problem as of now. We have a spend problem. Look at the amount of money we spend yearly on welfare alone. Stop the free handouts. Try working hard for a change. Even if you do have a low paying job, take an apartment with out cable, don’t by a car that costs more than your house, buy a house you can actually afford. Don’t put all the blame on sub prime mortgaging. If people were okay with being a little modest in the US and didn’t need that one size bigger house or the pool in the back yard just so they can brag about it at the next Burger King Cashiers picnic waiting for their government check so that hopefully they can meet their ridiculous mortgage they can not afford to begin with. So what if you are rich. If you are successfull, more power to you. That is no reason for you to be responsible for those who don’t work and collect the government checks. Stop sitting around and asking, when is the government is going to bail me out.. The answer is never, not even if Obama your so called “savior” is elected, which for the good of the country we all can pray that doesn’t happen.

McCain’s tax proposal involves cutting rich people’s taxes more than our taxes. I say that because, compared to the Obama proposals, McCain keeps up the recent tax cut for rich folks, and he maintains tax cuts for capital (only rich folks have “capital”). So McCain’s tax proposals redistribute towards rich folks, don’t they?

Why do we talk as though there is someone doing more redistribution and someone else doing less? Why do we talk about redistribution as “socialist”? It is just the struggle about who gets what. And McCain is trying to continue the tax policies where the rich people continue to get their “tax cuts”, right?

Does he ever talk about tax cuts for folks like us? maybe making less than $200,000 a year, let alone $40,000 a year? Can you imagine what has become of the country when $200,000 a year is still “middle class” and yet the average income is $50,000?

Nobody talks about the money facts, sadly.

There was one radical revolutionary who argued that there should be a “second phase” of the civil rights movement that would be even bigger than the “first phase.”

This second phase sought an “economic bill of rights” where government funding would provide housing and even guarantee an annual income for the poor.

Certainly some of Obama’s views could be considered similar when wishing that the civil rights movement had managed to achieve greater nation-wide economic parity.

Definitely views of a radical.

The first man I referred to was, of course, Martin Luther King, Jr.

King says, ”There are forty million poor people here, and one day we must ask the question, “Why are there forty million poor people in America?” And when you begin to ask that question, you are raising a question about the economic system, about a broader distribution of wealth.”

Good thing Obama is too young to be tied to THAT dangerous radical.

MEANWHILE… All we’re really talking about here is letting the Bush tax-cuts expire. Both candidates support progressive tax rates where the rich pay more than the poor. Both candidates want to cut middle class taxes. The major difference is that Obama wants to let the two highest tax brackets revert to their former rates- an increase of 3%-5%. This isn’t exactly Stalinism.

McCain deplores ‘the distribution of wealth,’ but he is quite satisfied with the concentration of wealth. It’s worked wonderfully for most of us these last several years, right?

For Fox News to drudge up a seven year old news report shows true desperation. Haven’t you noticed that your parties candidate John McCain’s negative attacks aren’t working? Stick to the issues that matter and how the candidates will bring positive change to this country. It is obvious that FOX News is owned by Republican backers because you consistently try to overshadow Obama’s plans for the country instead of asking your candidate to bring something better to the table. Every McCain rally that I have watched has been about Obama. Does McCain have any substance to offer concerning himself and his ticket? Time is running out….and desperation is setting in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McCain once opposed the same Bush tax cuts that Obama wants to roll back. Does this make McCain the Redistributionist in Chief? Or maybe the Stealth Socialist? Or perhaps the Grand Marxist? Perhaps just the Hypocrite in Chief. The hyperbole in this election is amazing. At least from the polls it appears that people can see through it. Nov. 4 can’t come soon enough.
