Obama Explains Biden’s “International Crisis” Comments
RICHMOND - Joe Biden is no shrinking violet and the Obama campaign knew as much when the Democratic nominee selected the Washington veteran as his running mate. After all, it was Biden who called Barack Obama “clean” and “articulate” during the primaries oh so long ago.
More recently, Joe Biden caused a flap when he predicted an “international crisis” would emerge to test the mettle of Barack Obama.
Just two days later, Barack Obama surrounded himself 19 foreign policy heavy weights such as Richard Holbrooke, Richard Danzig, and Sam Nunn for an hour-long closed press discussion. Biden, too, participated from Colorado via telephone.
Coincidence?
No, says Obama. “It’d be pretty hard to gather this group in two days; they have pretty busy schedules. We actually had this planned two weeks ago - two to three weeks ago. It was prompted by the fact that, I was focused fairly single mindedly on the financial crisis, and I asked my staff to convene this group because I think its very important at a time when we are so focused on the economy and rightly so, that we not lose sight of the fact that we remain threatened and that there are a host of international challenges that we’re gonna have to deal with,” he told reporters during a brief press conference following the private meeting.
The candidate also explained his running mate’s comments, acknowledging Biden “sometimes engages in rhetorical flourishes.”
I think that his core point was that the next administration is going to be tested regardless of who it is. Because of the fact that we have – the next administration is going to be inheriting a whole host of really big problems, and so the president is going to be tested. And the question is will the next president meet that test by moving America in a new direction by sending a clear signal to the rest of the world that we are no longer about bluster and unilateralism and ideology, but we’re about creating partnerships around the world to solve practical problems? That’s going to be the best way to meet that test. And I have confidence that we will be able to do so.

Are Obama’s comments supposed to make me feel better? Some countries don’t want and never intend to have any kind of partnership with America. They despise us and everything we stand for. I want unilateralism and ideology when it comes to the needs of America. Americas needs should come first in my opinion.
Not all administrations have to be tested - What happened within the first hours of the Reagan adminstration? Quite the opposite of “testing” - our Iranian hostages were released!!! This was an immediate and dramatic surrender about as soon as his oath was taken. Doesn’t this say that A) yes Biden is right, they are watching, and that B) if the right Commander in Chief is elected, one like Reagan who directly spoke so strongly on “peace through strength” and the hostage situation even during his campaign, some of our enemies will run in fear and wait for a weaker leader later on! And lets bring up one enemy who didn’t run at first sight of Reagan… Momar Quadafi whose yelping was squelched for decades with one bombing campaign, but who now is rising from the dust to praise the hopes of Obama coming to the U.S. presidency! Will Obama fight for us if challenged or acquiese in some compromising way? But as we and the terrorists have heard, McCain will use appropriate methods to fight for & protect us. They know it, and are afraid, and we want them afraid to take action against us. How can any American vote in accordance with the desire of a dictator-terrorist like Quadafi? A vote for McCain is a vote to keep our enemies at bay, while a vote for Obama is a vote cast on behalf of those foreign entities who would diminish America. TESTING WILL NOT HAPPEN UNDER A STRONG LEADER BUT TERRORISTS BACKING DOWN WILL- AMERICANS NEED TO HEAR THIS LOUD AND CLEAR TODAY!
Fry ALL ACORN’S NOW!!!!!
yet once again another laughable read that comes from the mouth of obama. the more he talks the stupider he becomes and more people realize how much of a puppet he is. *sigh* this is so sad people. i mean really, the deomcrats could not have done better than this? maybe next time they might actually think just a little bit.

McCain has al qaeda’s endorsement! That’s definitely an endorsement any Senator running for President should have… an actual terrorist connection. There’s your ‘international crisis’.
It seems logical to assume that honesty is about the most important requirement as when the honesty is questionable then everything else is also and no matter how attractive something may sound, it then just can’t be trusted. Over the last eight years we have simply been lied to so much that anyone would really have to be totally blinded by their biases in order to still put any faith in anything the Bush administration says. To any rational and objective viewer it has to be totally apparent that Gov Palin will aggressively say anything she thinks will benefit her and that when she is confronted with her inaccuracies, she then has no hesitation to belligerently rationalize an answer. Senator McCain has clearly demonstrated that he will change his positions frequently and quickly, creating little confidence in his intent, as he attempts to sway voters thinking and still maintain his commitment to the Bush-Cheney policies. The Republican Party has shown they will arrogantly use any artifice in hoping to manipulate public opinion, without conscience for fact, quality or class. There are many drastic problems currently affecting the country and the average American, yet there seems little acknowledgement of fault and still subtle efforts to continue to benefit Special Interests and a select few. Does all of this apply equally to the Democrats? There are of course faults that apply to the Democrats as well but it is definitely more of a contrast than a comparison with the Obama-Biden campaign by design seeking to stick to the ‘high road’. No staunch Republican will buy into this or admit its validity but I would think that anyone else, when able to be strictly objective and rationally honest, they will see the truth for themselves and be able to make their own conscience driven decision. Really it is just a matter of being personally disciplined and each honest with ourselves.
J of C have you read the entire article? The individual who posted that article is not reliable and apparently has no ties to Al Quida. If he is reliable then all this shows me is that they are scared of McCain and are really backing Obama because they are not scared of him at all.
Obama is Jimmy Carter on kool-aid
Enough about Reagan. He was a doddering old fool just like McCain! Age doesn’t equate to IQ.
I’m not speaking to this article. I’m speaking to the new information being related by CNN. It appears that al queda would prefer McCain as President. After all the ridiculous Ayers-Obama talk (terrorism) its poetic that the terrorists are starting to weigh in. It appears that they prefer McCains’s ‘Bush’ rhetoric.
It could well be that an ‘international incident’ is imminent.
“we’re about creating partnerships around the world to solve practical problems? That’s going to be the best way to meet that test.”
When Obama is elected, HE will be the President of the INTERNATIONAL STATES OF AMERICA!!!
Wake up PEOPLE of the United States of America!! and tell your mama, “Vote NO for OBAMA!”
J of C I was not speaking of this article. I was speaking of the article CNN is quoting. Read the entire article and not just what the news tells you. You will find a lot more truth that way.
democrats4life:
Yes, it would be awful if you tried to get along with other countries. Carrying the ‘big stick’ has always served you so well.
Forget diplomacy, let’s start wars everywhere.
Your super power status is sliding. Your economy is a nightmare. You’re fighting a war in Iraq over WMD’s that never existed.
Keep it up. It’s definitely scoring points with the international community.
First of all I don’t think we have to be concerned about the crisis that Biden is concerned about it will not happen because John McCain will be at the Helm and the Crisis will not arise during that time frame. We will always have a crisis in the horizon but not as John McCain first takes the helm.
Here is what is to happen with this election.Think I’m nuts Just watch as these next 2 week roll by.
Today Obama is 9 points up they say, BUT he has things working against him that he is not counting on, and they are—– Number one is the so called Bradley Effect where people are saying they will vote Obama to their neighbors because they don;t want to be considered racist In the Booth they will cross over and vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Number two, The Sarah Palin Effect. This will be just about the same as with that above. But Sarah is going to win more of the Clinton Voters than the Obama Campaign thinks. People will get in the Booth-and decide we need a Change for the better and will Vote McCain/ Palin.
It is not over till Sarah Palin is singing in the Oval Office with John McCain and us Cabinet.
VOTE NOVEMBER 4TH FOR LEADERSHIP FOR ALL OF AMERICA- JOHN McCAIN AND SARAH PALIN
People, you should think who found USA, who is mother land, what are you speaking now.
I am not raciest, but i am looking for maner, honesty, and who is talked, serving for this country…
J of C I was not referring to this article either. I was referring to the article CNN is quoting. You might want to read the articles instead of just believing what the “news” is telling you. You will find a lot more truth if you do.
It really bothers me that Joe Biden has made serious gaffs in his campaign speeches and the media has chosen to gloss them over. In the south we all have a crazy uncle that shows up for Christmas dinner that says the most outrageous things and someone will always say, “Well, that’s just Uncle Bob, you know how he is.” People this is the potential Vice Pres of the US making these comments not my crazy Uncle Bob. I’ll take unexperienced Sarah Palin any day. At least she’s teachable. What she doesn’t know she can learn and she doesn’t owe anybody in Washington any favors. How many people is Obama on the hook for with over $600 million in campaign money coming in?
The crisis could come from an “ally”: Israel attacks Iran, and demands that we join in. The new President would have to either resist tha Israel lobby (very difficult) , or put us into yet another war.
Wake up America this is the time every vote counts. Keep America Safe that is my No.1 priority. This is a dangerous world with terrorist waiting for a chance to crush us. Economy, yes its bad but it will fix itself! The government should stay out! Let the companies pay the price of their mistakes! Let the people pay the price of their mistakes! If they have to go bankrupt then so be it! Why should the hard working taxpayers doing things right pay for everyone’s mistakes!! I’m tired of all this, are we heading for socialism! If that is so, maybe we should move to another country because America will not be as it has always been…THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH!
We the people cannot afford Barack Obama! John McCain will keep us safe and that is all that matters.
gregg,
MCCain is Bush on geritol. one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
Considering Joe Biden’s IQ is supposedly 146, I find it amazing he can say the absolutely most ignorant and stupid things he does. He should get along real well with the supremely glib and pontifical snake oil salesman he’s playing politics with.
The approach that has been used so far for the practical problems of the U.S. hasn’t been working for that past 8 years. To continue more of the same is stupid. There are other ways to solving problems than dropping bombs and being a bully….and we wonder why other countries hate us so much. folk, we’re not as good and pure as you think.
Why on earth won’t FoxNews run the Berg v. Obama story??

I have to believe that if more people were aware of this info, it would be over for Obama
I wish the american people would wake up and see who the right candidate is…..McCain/Palin!
After the latest McCain assertion that “he has been tested, and Obama has not…” I went on-line and re-read several different accounts of the Cuban Missile Crisis in October of 1962. (I was only ten-years old at the time, but I still remember the protracted national anxiety we lived through while our collective future as a nation was in doubt.) After taking it all in again, this time with more historical detail to draw upon, I’m glad John McCain was safely ensconced in his jet fighter on an aircraft carrier, and not occupying the Oval Office at the time. Were it not for a variety of diplomatic initiatives without pre-conditions, none of us might be here today.
It is, admittedly a highly subjective conclusion, but the last thing we needed in the White House back then was a President quick to draw lines in the sand, and enamored of the symbolism required to defend them. As one reads these minute by minute accounts of complex back-channel negotiations, contingency planning, and public diplomacy, all occurring simultaneously, it’s hard to place a President McCain in the role that JFK actually played in leading us through this near-miss with nuclear war.
In fact, the Cuban Missile Crisis probably stands as a strong argument in favor of a President Obama who’s leadership style and temperament closely resembles Kennedy’s. There was no clear victor when the confrontation subsided on October 29th, 1962. The Soviets withdrew their missiles from Cuba, and the United States stood down from it’s plans to initiate “regime change” by removing Fidel Castro. Shortly thereafter, the United States removed it’s nuclear missiles from Turkey on the basis of a verbal understanding that was not made public until 30 years later.
In short, the resolution of that crisis was a far cry from the “Total Victory with Honor” that Senator McCain insists is prerequisite to our exit strategy from Iraq. Instead, it was a pragmatic and nuanced solution to a problem with otherwise catastrophic potential. It required a President strong enough to consider yielding ground on lesser matters (such as the removal of our ICBMs in Turkey), in order to achieve the best possible outcome, even if that outcome reinstated a somewhat uncomfortable status quo.
Ironically, as a consequence of the somewhat incoherent foreign policy of the Bush administration towards Russia and the former Soviet republics, the next President will most assuredly face a critical test, one which is already locked and loaded: Poland, and our currently stated intention to deploy defensive missile batteries there. There’s no doubt Joe Biden should have chosen his words more carefully, but as to the facts, he was 100% correct.
Well, shortly after Bush was elected we experienced 9/11… not that Dick Cheney gave us an advanced warning- and those with the brains and courage to do so supported Bush regardless of what the passive-aggressive opportunist hippie conspiracy theorists were spewing out…
But Obama is different somehow- I almost want to see him elected just to watch him twist in the wind. He’s such a douchebag he makes a bottle of masengale look bad.
Hey Vote Freedom First-
here’s another good one…
“To sit back hoping that someday, someway,
someone will make things right is to go on
feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last–
but eat you he will.‘
-Ronald Reagan (1911-2004)
Obama: “I am not arrogant. I am just a lot better than you!”
J of C you are a moron. You actually believe al Qaeda supports the one guy who pushed for the surge that ultimately crushed them in Iraq?! No wonder you are an Obama supporter - no common sense.
A fact that is not disputable is the the Chief Political Advisor for Hammas endorsed Barak Obama last summer.
As for Obama’s “clarification” of Biden’s unbelievably stupid comment (he was right, just so stupid to have actually stated it) it is breath taking. Biden stated that the response would be unpopular, leaving many to conclude that they would not take strong action in defense of the US, and Obama actually added to this by saying he would react to such a test…
“…by sending a clear signal to the rest of the world that we are no longer about bluster and unilateralism and ideology, but we’re about creating partnerships around the world to solve practical problems? That’s going to be the best way to meet that test.”
IN SHORT, OBAMA WILL SING KUMBAYA AND JUST HOPE WE’LL ALL JUST GET ALONG. If I’m an international thug like Putin, Chavez, or Ahmadinijad…I’m going to may hay on this chump Obama.
The problem is Biden forgot to explain how Barack would then negotiate (in a very strong maner) with the people causing the crisis. Doesn’t anyone understand how very good Barack is.
The problem is Biden didn’t then remind us that while Barack is easily handling the crisis, along with many other duties of the President, he would also be negotiating in a very strong maner, with the “bad guys”. Don’t you understand how good Barack actually is.
GIVE US A BREAK,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
BIDEN,,,,,,,,,,,,WAS,,,,,,,,,,,VERY,,,,,,,,,,,,SPECIFIC,,,,,,,,,,,IT’S,,,,,,,,,,,,,COMING,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,AND,,,,,,,,,,,,
OBAMA,,,,,,,,,,,WILL,,,,,,,,,,,,,BE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,DEER,,,,,,,,,,,,,IN,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LIGHTS
With Obama we would be defeated in an International crisis should it hit us in the first 6 months if he were elected President. For the following reasons, his weaknesses.Lack of Leadership, lack of overall experience , lack of experience in the worlds affairs.Unable to put together a qualified Cabinet.
A sharp talker but a person who is unable to move people to get the job done. A person who is to self centered, thinks more of who and where he is rather than America and the people around him.
Not a person for the Position of Commander In Chief for he lacks the support of the total Military as 68% or more will not vote for him.
Another good reason he would lose in a crisis is that all I mean all are wanting him to win because of his weakeness knowing they can defeat him Biden would be No Help.
Do we need a weak Man in the Oval Office at this time? I don’t think so!
You bet our country will be tested if Obama ends up in the White House. Americans’ are already the laughing stock of the world. Just the idea that we would actually elect a man who has NO executive experience to run our country makes us look like a bunch idiots. Big deal so he’s a senator…….the only people in this country who even knew his name (before this race) were Chicago’s inner city residents, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright ACORN & Hamas. Not associations one should boast about, oh I’m sorry my mistake, I forgot……he tried to hide and downplay those relationships. Just because none of his associates have been convicted doesn’t mean we should ignore them. Oh but by the way, Bill Ayers’s wife did serve 10 yrs in prison because of her involvement in the Weather Underground (a woman who once worked with Obama and Michelle at the same law firm). Let’s face it, their both attorneys and I’m sure they know a number of ways to get around the law. Perhaps the news media should spend a little more time airing the facts about Obama and not wasting the viewers time with their own personal opinions. Fraud (ACORN), Hate (Rev. Wright ), Terrorism (Ayers & Hamas)…………these should not be terms connected to a person who is running for the American presidency. Desperation on the part of American’s will not work to our advantage. If you don’t have all of the facts straight by Nov. 4th then do our country a favor, don’t bother to vote. Voting for someone based on their promises will end up doing a disservice to our nation. Remember promises are made to be broken but records are a matter of fact and can’t be disputed. Do the homework if you want to make an educated decision otherwise stay home on Election Day. I can’t help but wonder where all of our ideals, morals, judgment, unity, religion and patriotism have gone in this country? What did Biden mean when he referenced John Kennedy? Was he insinuating that there would be an assassination attempt on Obama’s life during the first 6 mths of his administration? Perhaps we’ll get lucky and it will only be another terrorist attack on US soil. At this point, will pulling our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan really keep our nation safe or reveal our country’s weaknesses? I was strongly against the surge from the beginning because I felt Bush prayed upon the American people’s emotions after 9/11 to fulfill his own hidden agenda nonetheless our country has not suffered any additional attacks since that surge. Our troops in those regions ARE keeping us here at home safe. I know first hand the sacrifice that has been made. Like so many Americans I too have lost the love of my life for country. I feel that Obama is using the same tactic that Bush used to justify the War on Terror. Because of our current economic crises & desperation we are feeling we’re allowing Sen. Obama to use this as a ploy to pray upon our personal vulnerabilities to further his own personal agenda. Remember promises are meant to be broken but records are a matter of fact. Know the record before going to the polls!
Obama: What Joe Biden was trying to say is that something will happen, an international crisis. Barack is going to be tested. Americans are going to wonder why we’re doling the things we are. They’re gonna say “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, WHAT THE H*LL DID WE DO???!!! WE ELECTED THIS GUY????? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. HOLLY #*&^@*!!!! That’s what Joe meant.
The problem with Obama is that he knows how to twist the truth and lie very well. Its hard to believe someone who has flagrantly lied about his associations with Ayers, Rev. Wright, Acorn, and others. He is partly responsible for the financial crisis we are facing today. He and is his democratic constituents voted against regulations for housing, mortgage companies, banking industries, etc…!!! Why isn’t anybody addressing that issue alone? He didn’t even help to prevent our nation from going into a financial freefall…So when he talks about change, it is very scary for myself and all the friends and associates that I have…You can’t trust a man who doesn’t have a very good track record nor is he coming clean….
WELL, EVERYBODY MAKES EXCUSES FOR WHAT IS ON RECORD OF WHAT WAS SAID.
BIDEN IS A GROWN MAN AND HE KNOWS WHAT HE SAID.
HERE COMES OBAMA WITH HIS BROOM TO SWEEP THIS UNDER THE RUG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE.
Should Senator Obama take the election, I believe we’re seeing just a few of the many many times Obama will be trying to smooth over something Biden has screwed up. His selection of Biden is the only way he would have gotten anywhere other than a senator.
I’m wondering who will straighten out Obama’s screw ups. It may be more difficult to blame the Republicans since democrats will control everything. Responsibility is something that democrats are not used to taking, especially anything that matters.
If the Democrats take the White House, it will be interesting to see just how much America’s foundation can stand before it crumbles. The Clintons got it shaking.
Griff
Biden specifically said that Obama would be the one tested and I think he meant it. He was informing a group of people who have donated to their campaign to still support, monitarily I suppose, Obama and Biden should they be faced with this crisis and whether or not they make the appropriate response. It sounds like Biden is forseeing the worlds perception of Obama being weak. It was Biden, in the primaries, who said that Obama was too inexperienced to be president.
Comment to Jof C
That comment by the Alqaeda group is meant to be just the opposite of what they want. They have done this in the past and they monitor our news on a daily basis. Biden comes out with a statement saying Obama will be tested early if elected president then this message comes out. The last person they want elected is John Mccain. They are masters at manipulation and the press should disregard what they say because who cares what they think. Like Tom sad before me Obama will take the Rodney Kng line and preach the can’t we all get along. Obama is naive and whe he says he will meet with rogue leaers of terrorist states that shows me this man is clueless as to how dangerous the world really is.
Someone along time ago warned us that socialism would take us over…..
The press is our chief ideological weapon.
Nikita Khrushchev
I once said, “We will bury you,” and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.
Nikita Khrushchev
Unbelievable that so many extreme liberal thinking voters cannot or will not discuss Obama’s past history….almost completely ignoring it. Why won’t he produce his birth certificate…a real one. Very easy for a US citizen to do. For some reason, he refuses. Doesn’t take a genius to deduct the obvious for this and his past connections. I guess the libs do not mind or care about ‘character’ in their candidate. The truth will come out…it always does. Unfortunately, it may affect millions of sensible and rational citizens.
Biden was very clear that it was going to be Obama who would be tested. Now he’s trying to spread a bit more than wealth. The thought of Obama being in a situation where he will have to decide about deploying troops or taking a stance terrifies me. He will over intellectualize the problem. He will try to mediate and wrap the situation in diplomacy, meanwhile bad things will happen. Blah blah blah. McCain/Palin ‘08.
PLEASE TELL ME HOW JOHN MCCAIN HAS BEEN TESTED AS A LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD? JOHN MCCAIN HAS NOT BEEN TESTED ANYMORE THAN ANY OTHER VIETNAM VETERAN OR POW. JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE SERVED HONORABLY IN THE MILITARY AS A POW DOES NOT GIVE YOU ANY MORE PRIVILEDGE OR RIGHT THAN THE VETERAN WHO SERVED HONORABLY IN THE JUNGLE OF VIETNAM FIGHTING THE ENEMY DIRECTLY EVERYDAY.
I WISH THE MEDIA WOULD CHALLENGE MCCAIN EVERYTIME HE SAYS “I’VE BEEN TESTED” FOR AN INTERNATIONAL CRISIS.
IN CONCLUSION SEN. OBAMA IS BETTER EQUIP TO MAKE THE BEST DECISION AND JUDGMENT DURING AN INTERNATIONAL CRISIS. SEN. MCCAIN IS DYING FOR WAR TO PROVE SOME LONG HELD AMBITION STEMMING FROM THE VIETNAM ERA.
Biden is a big boy and has alot more experience than Obama. I don’t think Biden needs Obama to explain what he meant. Biden said what he meant. If Obama doesn’t agree, ok, but he doesn’t need to put another slant on it. Man, Obama thinks he’s the smartest, best, cutest and never wrong. Is that the definition of an elitist????????
Al-Qaida wants to continue the war. Al-Qaida has declared war against the U.S. They want to wrap up America’s money in war and tax our resources. If Obama is elected and is reluctant about deploying troops they’ll just find a different angle of attack. If McCain is elected, he’ll kick their bootay. The bad part with McCain is that Al-Qaida will partially succeed, our troops, money, and other resources will be taxed. The bad part with Obama is that Al-Qaida will have to find a new angle of attack. Thus, they probably will re-focus their efforts on attacking our mainland. One thing they have in mind is to start a series of forest fires around the world. Perhaps that will be what happens if Obama is elected.
Why is Obama always tryign to explain Biden’s gaffes to America?I think Biden was warning us because he knows Obama isn’t ready,in fact he stated that fact inthe primaries,as did Hillary.Biden said in the summer that he would be proud to be on a ticket with John McCain.I think he’s surprised that Obama is ahead in the polls, and he’s actually afraid of the thought of him being president.Obama is naive and week on foreign policy and defense, and has a circle of friends who are hostile to America;not a good combination! Google and YOUTUBE Obama/Raila Odinga and add that to what you know about Jeremiah Wright,Ayers and Khalid al-mansour.If America doesn’t wake-up, we are in for dangerous times.
obama will handle an international crisis, in a cool calm and collected manner, as opposed to the twitching erratic manner in which McCain would handle the crisis. Mr. Macho, war hero, with remnants of post traumatic stress syndrome.
Obama has continually backtracked and ‘explained’ somethng he said and did previously during this campaign…. So, no surprise that he now also ‘explains’ what Biden said or meant to say…. Never any real plausible or real explanations - just more rhetoric replete with half-truths, hidden agendas and distortions of fact…. ‘We are about creating partnerships” - what does that mean as a response to international crises or confrontation?? Obama’s glaring lack of experience is both naive and startling but constantly gets immersed in articulate rhetoric and media bias….
MRS. OBAMAS LITTLE BOY BETTER BE PREPARED TO INTERPRET WIND-BAG BIDEN’S HIP-SHOTS BETWEEN NOW AND WHENEVER THEY ARE NO LONGER ENTWINED IN THE POLITICAL ARENA. ISN’T IT WONDERFUL, OBAMA, THE JR. SENATOR, EXPLAINING WHAT THE DEMENTED SENIOR SENATOR MEANT TO SAY?
OH YES INDEED, THEY ARE READY TO CHANGE WASHINGTON BUT 99% OF THOSE WHO BACK OBAMA WILL BE SCREAMING THEIR HEADS OFF IN A SHORT TIME IF HE IS ELECTED PRES. THEIR PLIGHT IN LIFE WILL BE TOO TERRIBLE TO CONTEMPLATE, SO THEY WILL PRATTLE ON ABOUT HOW PRES. BUSH CAUSED THEIR DILEMMA EVEN THOUGH OBAMA, PELOSI AND GRANDPA BIDEN WILL HAVE BEEN STEERING THE ERRANT SHIP.
Let us all pray that Obama will not win….or else…..the prophesy of Nostradamus that a leader nation from the west will be convered to a nation of islam…

Are Obama’s comments supposed to make me feel better? Some countries don’t want and never intend to have any kind of partnership with America. They despise us and everything we stand for. I want unilateralism and ideology when it comes to the needs of America. Americas needs should come first in my opinion.

Fair point, but then be willing to pay the higher taxes, higher interest rates, or higher inflation that come along with that position. As Phil Gramm would say, “stop whining”.

Uh, you forget any organization’s first goal is survival. Given their recruiting hasn’t been better than over the past 8 years, I would imagine they really do prefer McCain in the White House pushing a foreign policy that has helped them recruit so much. Are they supposed to be more scared of McCain than the Bush/Cheney push against them for the last 8 years? Why?

That’s right, why have Allies? Stupid for them to help us in Afghanistan. Maybe they should pull out, save their own lives and taxpayer money, and transfer the responsibility to us and our taxpayers. Great move. Our economy should be able to handle it. I hope you are willing to open your checkbook and put your money where your mouth is.
Tom, the reason al Qaeda prefer the Republicans is because THEY WANT US TO REACT!!! They want to engage us in war - and they know the ultra-reactive ‘maverick’ and his side-kick will play right into their hands that way.
My concern is not that a new President is tested, but what Biden said. He said that he needed their supporters to hang in there with them, and that they would not like the response Obama would have. Now that shows he knows something. And why would we not like his response?
[...] that Biden meant the next president’s mettle will be tested no matter who was elected. BS!!! More Obama excuses to his lack of foreign policy credentials. Biden specifically stated, “The world is looking. We’re about to elect a [...]
Here yet another “Just let me explain,” what is it going to take to see that these guys a freakin joke? with all that is NOT KNOWN about this or “That One,” it is amazing so many are ready to play 3 blind mice to new socialist government. Well if “that one” does make it to the White House and “Joe-six term senator,” is with him, the ones who vote them in deserve everything that comes with them.
PEOPLE!!!!!!WAKE!!!UP!!!THE DYE HAS BEEN CAST!!!!
YOU DARN RIGHT THERE WILL BE A REAL PROBLEM IF OBAMA WINS……THE BAD PEOPLE ARE IN THEIR COUNTRY’S JUST WAITING TO JUMP ON A CANDIDATE THAT IS “NOT” READY TO LEAD…..
THAT IS WHY THEY WANT OBAMA BECAUSE THEY KNOW HE IS VERY WEAK AND UNKNOWING ABOUT BEING PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!
JUDY FROM IOWA
Why is it that any time the democrats speak, their words must be explained or clarified? I am so sick of hearing “what I think he was trying to say was…” and “what he meant was…” _________________Calling people in PA “racist” then clarifying that what was REALLY meant is that they are just “rednecks.” The democrats are already trying to claim racism if they lose; well, I’ve got news for you–we are not voting against Obama because he is black; we are voting against him because we do not agree with his policies, we do not trust him, and we cannot afford him for security or financially.__________Biden did not say ANYTHING about new presidents are historically challenged; what he DID say was “Mark my words, it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama …” “… Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.” ________________________We heard you and we know what you meant.
has anyone else noticed the fact that obama has to “explain” alot about what he says, or his vp nom says. his whole camp is about covering up or “explaining” why someone in his camp said this, or that, or why he has relationships with certain people who have “questionable” ethics. its like this obama has to take a muligan everytime he or any one else in his camp says or does something so he can go back and tell america why it was done that way or why it was said that way so he can further manipulize the idiots of this country who believe that he is the almighty messiah, that has come back to earth from heaven to help change us all. BULL$HIT!!!!!!
You got that right Proudrepub
Is Biden a Cliton plant? Hmmmm!!!!
Think about it.
DAVE: The reason none of the networks is running it is because it is BS This Berg guy sued George W and Cheney for 9/11 He is an attention seeker with no real facts, just a very distorted view of what he believes the law is and then tries to push cr*p like that through the courts. If Fox isn’t messing with it doesn’t that speak volumes to you. Go read real sources and talk from an educated stance.
I’m confused. Biden is the intellectual giant in the area of foreign affairs for this undynamic duo, and yet he’s the one that constantly steps on his doofus? That should play real well in Topeka!
Biden, goodlooking Senator from the old’boy’s network - tick as a three! Biden is the one they should compare with Dan Quayle, even so they didn’t. That comparison someone thought was a good idea to stick to Palin, even before she got to say something. They even said she was “worse than Quayle”, which reference her gender?
If you think sexism isn’t an issue in the American election, read Huffington Post for a week: Every day, top to bottom; Palin trashing, indiscriminately, unapologetic and endless. They even (”shame on them!”) published a Palin-porn video. With this kind of hate towards woman, and sexism in all shapes and colors, vote Palin! America needs a woman anything. No doubt about it.
The Chicago politics motto has always been if you can’t buy the election steal it and if you
can’t steal it buy it. I have lived here all my life (long life) and its always been this
way. Come on America get out and vote don’t let the dems and Obama steal of buy this
great Country
OBAMA is doing everything he can to reassure the people that he will be able to make the right decisions in an International Crisis. I thought Biden was going to be his trusted advisor on the foreign policy front? What happened to that love affair? Obama now calls all these other guys in?
OBAMA does not have the experience to handle an international crisis - He just doesn’t and that combined with all the money he wants to spend and give away - I don’t believe we can financially afford to have him at the helm. God knows who he would call in as advisors. Don’t vote for him and we already know his VP choice is an empty head. I think Biden may be bi polar. He looked like a madman on the TV the other night.
It’s a scary duo.
[...] prediction that international leaders will likely “test” the new president , the Democratic nominee discounted remark Thursday by saying that Biden sometimes “engages in rhetorical [...]
If Obama can face McCain, during the debate while McCain was unstable and anger and yelling, with a cool demeanor and gave clear explanation to his plans. President Obama will govern well in the future with the same confidence we have seen him doing.
They Only thing bad about BIDEN’s comments are that HE DID WORD THEM WRONG! LET’s tell the TRUTH people HISTORY has taught us that there have been OTHER presidents that had to deal with an attack of some sort on American soil in there first 6 mos of office!! Kennedy, Clinton and yes even your current Present BUSH! McCain says he is ready??? BUT HOW can that be when HE has never had to deal with a Crisis Like that HE WAS CAPTURED!! “Because he has never been the President of the United States of America”??? i question McCain bringing this up so much becuase on web site of AL Qaeda they want McCain to win BECAUSE that would make it that much more interesting to get McCain “Who says stuff like hell take em down and keep troops there 100 yrs fighting and AMERICA is the best Country in the world and no one can tell us what to do” this is what AL Qaeda lives on they want to HURT Americans and they cannot stand BUSH so to have BUSH JR there would be great for them to hit us again because they dont RESPECT BUSH or McCAIN!!
I don’t know who is more full of it….obama or biden. And if something would happen to either of the men running for president, I would rather have Sarah at the wheel than some guy who makes so many mistakes that the press doesn’t even bother to print them!
