A man and his wife are on their way to a restruant and see a homeless man with a sign that says, “Vote for Obama I need the money”. Well his wife and he sit at a table and his waiter, one he has had often, is wearing a pin that says “Vote Obama”. Now this man tips 33% or better but at the end of his meal he tells his waiter he will not be getting his tip as there is a man outside who needs it more and he is going to spread the wealth by giving it to the other man. The waiter got furious as he knew he was losing $10.00 and he had worked hard for it. Obama has been inconsistent on his policies from the beginning. He promised to sign the Public Financing for Elections agreement and when McCain signed he changed his mind. His health care plan had been a work in motion and now when he sees his welfare plan is being questioned he changes it. Bill Clinton did the same thing. He promised tax breaks and after he was elected he said that maybe that wasn’t such a good idea. You cannot balance the tremendous budget that we have and get this country back on track with the tax plan that Obama has and he is well aware of it. He obviously is too dumb to understand what they told him at his economic summitt or he is planning to wait until he is elected to show you his real tax plan. Really read his plan and then explain to me how he is going to be able to spread the wealth and pay the bills.

Let’s put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. “Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.”

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his “fair share?” They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

How do you explain “Country First” as your campaign slogan when you select a completely unqualified/troubled running mate and are running one of the most negative/divisive campaigns in decades?

People in this country and throughout the world are having major difficulties surviving from day to day at this point. Issues like jobs, healthcare, education, energy prices, and taxes are most important. As voters we would appreciate getting back to them.

How can you select a running mate that knowingly violated ethics codes as governor, has no economic, constitutional law (2 months ago didn’t know what a VP does and recently said a VP is in charge of the Senate), and foreign policy experience? Not to mention is not in step with one of passionate points of your campaign (earmarks). And how can she question Obama’s patriotism when her husband was registered with the Alaskan Independence Party for 7 years until 2002 and even gave them praise herself? For those who don’t know, these idiots believe the Alaska should be separated from the rest of the country. WOW!

I guess drastic times call for drastic measures? Looks like a replay from previous GOP campaigns. Nice to see droves of voters out there informing themselves about the issues instead of falling for these tired tactics.

Here is what I find troubling about this article: McCain is criticizing a change for being a change. He has no other reason, if all a change in policy is is “electioneering” then what happens after he is elected? Will he never change policy because its not what he said the first time? Being locked into a policy simply for the sake of being locked in is NOT good sense. Notice he doesn’t say the specific change is a bad one, but he criticizes it for being a change. Not a good omen for what President McCain would be like.

For the sake of discussion let’s say you’re right, Niky. So now the restaurant owner is making less money or losing money. What does he do? (a) Suck it up and eat the loss for the sake of the greater good (aka socialism), despite the fact that his family is now struggling to make ends meet (b) Lay off the waiter and a few more so he can afford the higher tax bill (c) Close his doors because he can’t afford to be in the restaurant business any longer, thereby putting everyone working at the restaurant out of a job (d) Raise his prices and pass the higher tax bill along to his customers, which could potentially reduce his business and put him back to lower or no income.

This is a zero sum game, but the likelihood that the owner will just absorb the higher tax and do nothing is miniscule.

Look in the mirror - John…..

1. He doesn’t want to raise taxes on anyone. An accross the board tax cut WILL help wealthy people save more, because they already pay more taxes.
2. Government managed health care is not the answer. Is that going to mean some uninsured people? Yes. But if we work on improving the free economy model that provides health coverage, we can greatly reduce the number of uninsured people, and keep that quality of service we’re used to.
3. We need to cut government spending. Government employees need to realize their jobs may be cut, and it’s not personal, but we need to stop borrowing from foreign countries to pay for all these government programs.

McCain’s right, Obama will say anything to be elected. He’s not told the American people that we need to make any sacrifices to get this country back in the right direction. He tells people what they want to hear. Mark my words, if he gets in office, you can kiss his promised actions goodbye.

I am really disappointed in John McCain. I used to respect him for his service to his country. I just can’t anymore. He has gone too far in this campaign. As far as “saying anything to get elected”, he really is the one who is doing that. I almost feel embarrassed for him. To suggest that another US senator is a terrorist or not one of us, is pitiful. Kay, I don’t think you understand the Obama tax plan at all. McCain likes to paint it as taking money out of middle class pockets and handing it to bums. Look at the traditional Republican tax plan: tax extremely wealthy people at very low rates, tax the poor and middle class at very high rates. Check on it. That is what McCain supports. He and his wife are extremely wealthy. They support the traditional Republican tax plan. They say it stimulates job growth, but the problem is IT NEVER TRICKLES DOWN! Unless you are extremely wealthy and/or own large quantitities of Exxon stock, you personally will be better off with Obama’s plan. Ultimately, the American people must decide who the liars are. Truth does not change depending on where the winds come from or the matters that sound troublesome. What is happening is that even pollsters try to create impressions of things that aren’t. Perhaps, to fool the electorate. The more insulting to the electorate is the tampering of the right to vote, one vote for each eligible citizen, and the buying of registrants. Criminal prosecution should be pursued vigorously even after the elections if only to preserve the sacred right of suffrage in this country. Considering that we have early elections or late registration allowed in this country, the likelihood of fraud is going to happen and the results of the election may be fraudulent as well. How sad for America, supposed to be the bastion of democracy in the world.

Wow- reading these posts make me even prouder to be a conservative. Facts, logic, common sense, proper grammar, all coming from the McCain supporters. The pro-Obama posts are barely comprehensible. This coming from the group spewing hatred for stupid Bush for 8 years and now jumping on an American Hero and the most popular governor in the country simply because they disagree with their views.
