Creative Protesting

MIAMI - Another protest by air for - or more accurately against - Barack Obama.

At the Democrat’s rally Tuesday evening in Miami, a single engine plane buzzed around pulling a banner asking Senator Obama and his wife, Michelle, to “repudiate” 60s radicals Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

Republicans, including the GOP ticket, have attempted to draw attention to and amplify his relations with Ayers. Obama has consistently explained that he and Ayers simply sat on a Chicago education board together.

Ayers and Dohrn currently reside in the Obamas’ Hyde Park neighborhood.

I have lost all respect for people even asking that question, maybe its time for McCain/Palin to explain some of the people they know or may have passed by in the past. Here’s one, Palin’s hubby, member of an Alaskan group that is anti government, last time I checked that was not the american way! McCain also has associated with less than desirable people. I am so tired of some people who are americans, but are still so racist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAKE UP AND CARE ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY! YOU CAN’T SIT IN A PEW LISTENING TO REV. WRIGHT FOR 20 YEARS AND NOT HAVE ANY SEEDS PLANTED. AND THEN THERE IS THE AYERS/DOHRN FRIENDSHIP BY THE OBAMAS. Exactly why voters are turned off at McCain. These tactics are exactly why Obama is going to have a landslide victory!

Comment by Gilly

Good thing we have these people out there reminding kool-aid drinkers to WAKE UP FROM THEIR TRANCE and realize they are blindly following Obama because f his hypnotizing words and not because of his record. Guys SNAP OUT OF IT Obama is a huge risk for our democracy, our nation, and our security, Even Bidden thinks so.

Comment by CharacterMatters

Minimum requirement for a great leader: Integrity and openness — Something BO does not know anything about. Without good character, one cannot make sound decisions, even if he was educated at the best schools. The GOP is simply trying to raise awareness of a significant issue that Americans should be concerned about!!! BO is a brilliant lawyer and knows how to pick his words, and people just eat it up. The truth will come out. Just see what happens if he does get elected. It will be a hard lesson learned for many.

Comment by Shannon

The average American would not be able to get a security clearance for a job with the Federal Government if he/she had similar ties to the Weather Underground and Bill Ayers. Any one of us average Americans would undergo scrutiny by the OPM and have our backgrounds fully investigated. Why should we hold the President’s office to a different standard? Anyone running for office should have to pass the same investigation as the rest of us. That would put a lot of the lingering questions about Obama’s bith certificate, social service registration, college history and criminal record to rest. Not to mention the association with terrorists.

Comment by Ron K

The real question is why is Obama associating with Joe Biden? Joe doesn’t even know what Article of the U.S. Constitution covers the Executive Branch. (It’s number II.) And when debating Governor Pallin, Joe said that the only job the VP has in the Senate is to vote when there’s a tie.

The VP is always the President of the Senate, not just when there’s a tie vote. Joe made nine other mistakes in that debate, but they were overlooked by the left-wing media. That’s not the worst of it, though.

JOE IS A PROVEN LIAR.

Take his performance in 1988 when he ran for president the first time. First he was caught telling a lie on his resume about how many college degrees he had. (Have you ever forgotten how many college degrees you’ve earned?) But Joe stayed in the race.

Then he was caught telling another lie about being a member of MENSA, which requires an IQ of 175. (Joe’s IQ is probably closer to 100.) But he still stayed in the race.

Then he was making a stirring speech when a reporter remembered hearing those words before. He had. Joe had stolen those words, without crediting the originator, from a British politician. It’s called plagiarism, legally a lie. Someone shamed Joe into dropping out, finally.

All you hear about is that Sarah Pallin is not qualified.

EVEN AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS IN THE SENATE,
JOE BIDEN IS THE ONE WHO IS NOT QUALIFIED.

If I were Obama, I’d try to learn something about my associates.

Comment by Irena

Now there ya go again, doggone it! I bet that was really Putin in that plane rearin his ugly head. He must have thought he was still over Alaska.

You know, if McCain/Palin had anything to recomend them for the White House, they wouldn’t have to keep using these pathetic slogans. They should be focusing on bringing themselves up, not bringing their opponents down.

If they didn’t have more contact Ayers as they say, why did Michelle Obama serve on the planning committee of The Community Renewal Society with John Ayers (brother of William) and Susan Klonsky (wife of Maoist Michael Klonsky) in February 2000. G.Gordyn Liddy did not try to blow up parts of the U.S. and just a few minutes ago I hear a radio interview with Ayres and his marxist, anarchist views set in 2002, and found that Obama has had a close association with Ayres up until now. I do not want someone who is associated with a terrorist running my country, what does that say about Obama. He cannot tell the truth and this is how he feels about america.

Comment by Sheryl

Fox, repudiate the bias journalism…

Comment by Jane Palmer

As for the Liddy deal: The man justly served time for something that hurt absolutely no one except the man they thought they were helping. The Ayers character is pure abomination and slimy filth - a terrorist - unrepentent and unpunished for his terrible deeds. Another story altogether, and you know it.

Fox news you should report on this one

‘Palin also apologized Tuesday for any misunderstanding caused when she referred last week to the patriotic values of “the real America” and “pro-America areas of this great nation.”

Democrats and others criticized Palin for seeming to imply that some parts of the country are more patriotic than others.’

Comment by James

McCain supporters, just keep accusing Obama all the way to the White House. When are people going to realize that Ayers is not going to save our economy. John McCain cheated on his first wife with the heiress. He then married the heiress one month after his divorce. Then the heiress stole Vicodin and lied about it, shades of Rush, Oxycontin, Dr shopper, money launderer LImbaugh. They both should have been prosecuted, but if you are rich and white you get a pass. Then you have Moosealini, who is so outrageously ignorant it is comedic.Boy I wish George Carlin was alive to see this freak show. Palin makes make ashamed to have estrogen. She owes everything to the liberal Democrats who fought for women’s rights, while people like Phyillis Sclaffley told us the reason American culture wasgoing down the drain was due to working women not taking proper of their kids.Ms Palin and her pregnant daughter, like my long dead father would say”AYE AYE AYE”, he was Pennsylvania Dutch.Sorry for the misspellings, the dumbing down of the USA has gotten to me.

You can argue your point all you want but HE IS WHAT HE IS and when the kool-aide runs out you are gonna realize you have been had by a smooth talking Mesiah wannabe that could care less about you and every one else in this country!

Comment by elizabeth

There are only a handful of words that McCain and Palin have talked about. Really nothing about what he’s going to do in office and who he will name as his advisors… Palin???
The majority of Americans are so sick and tired of his negative campaigning, Palin with her usual stump neagive speeches, (besides telling a 3rd grader that she will be in charge of the Senate).
Where’s the substance to these people besides sounding like a broken record going round and round and round with the words Ayers, Wright, Ayers, Wright and oh…… dividing the country once again between good Americans who love their country versus those of us who what???
Until this divide is stopped- and I truly thought that it would be after 8 years of Bush, we’re back to where we were 8 years ago with this mind set of Karl Rove who really doesn’t give a patooty about religion, but loves to see the vitriol between the two parties.

Comment by Shayne

My concern is not about Ayer’s or his radical connection that Obama obviously used to climb the political ladder. The fact that he has so easily caste off these characters proves they were just stepping stones for his political ambition.

My main concern is the fact that we face an enemy now that is taught to hide when facing a strong force and attack when facing a weaker force. If Obama takes a soft-line towards Russia, Iran, or North Korea the terrorist could perceive this as weakness. If that happens they will test Obama. I am not convinced that Obama will rise to the challenge. I don’t know why but Obama reminds me of Neville Chamberlain.

My second concern his record of taxes. If Obama does what he has done in the past he will raise taxes on the upper and middle classes no matter what he says on the campaign trail.

What a great idea! Obama has a lot of explaining to do and we need to know more. Just because you talk, and talk, and talk does not mean you can do the job. People who talk too much, like Obama , are really selfish
people. They are only interested in themselves.

Comment by Rich Burton

We, as Americans, should not base our decisions based on fear. This country was not founded on fear. It’s the dogma of the last eight years that seem to have put a fog of fear around this election. I, for one, believe in strong leadership that looks to provide solutions and explore ideas. There seems to be only one candidate interested in discussing the issues and that is compelling. I wish McCain would spend his energy on providing solutions as opposed to tearing down his opponent and using fear tactis. Vote for a unifying candidate. Vote for Obama and learn how it feels to be free again minus the fear mongering. Peace everyone and remember we are one country.

Comment by another republican for Obama

We do love the USA…and all 50 states not just 49, as Palin would have it.

Comment by Louis

The person above is right about the young people waking up. They are living in an Obama dream world. Reality is harsh. Do kids understand the meaning of birds of a feather flock together? Look who flocks with Obama. Are we not judged by the people we associate with? How many of you out there have said to yourself, “I better not hang with so and so because he will get me in trouble and make me look bad”? Obama’s friends are those kind of people. He is a crooked politician at best and heaven knows what else. He will lead this country into change alright, but not the kind these kids and young people are going to like. What really worries me is how much some of our enemies like him. Think about this people, we are heading for trouble with Obama and this time it may be more than our country can handle.

Comment by peaches

Great idea who cares what it cost? Look at the amount of money Obama spent on his campaign! And it was all taken from folks in this country who could probably use the money to buy food on their table!!

I should know better than to click on a Fox link - except that every so often I have to check out what you and Huffington have to say: balance of the extremes.

This air stunt simply points again to how much of Mr. McCain’s campaign has, unfortunately, been built on a politics of fear and innuendo rather than realities. Pity.

Pssst! Could someone tell the Republican’s that over 50% of American’s don’t care about Ayers! And, they certainly don’t think his views rubbed off on Obama or they wouldn’t be voting for him. Foxnews is sounding desperate repeating the same words over and over again.

Comment by Mr. Martinez

52% support Obama that’s alot of stupid people. Empty fools!

Comment by Shane Hamby

I have to admit that I love reading all the comments after the articles. I love to laugh at all the republicans and their hatred. It makes me smile to see all the comments that show fear of the unknown, FEAR of a man that has done nothing to them. They are running in FEAR. It truly shows the ignorance of some people. Social and political discourse in this country has truly sunk to a new low from the ignorant comments Ive read. I can’t wait for you to live with FEAR as the rest of us have lived with FEAR under the TYRANNY of BUSH!!!!! The devisiveness of these comments show the true colors of some of you. You are scared of something different. Even if its better than what is currently in place, you don’t want it as its DIFFERENT than you. Accept changing times, catch up with the times. Its a new world.

Comment by Bigdon1

This is just one more example of the McCain/Palin slime that permeates this campaign. It is remarkable that Obama has been able to remain above all the mudslinging of his opponent. It remindes me of an old saw, “Never wrestle with a pig (McCain), you both get dirty, but the pig loves it”.

Pretty pathetic of Fox to try to draw a connection when there is none. Report on the identified abuse of power of Palin and her unpatriotic husband who wants Alaska to separate from the United States. Those of plain facts.

Why doesn’t McCain have to explain the Keating Five? Or his association with a woman that steals prescription drugs. Or we could ask his first wife whom he cheated on so he could marry a younger richer woman.

Comment by BAILEY, AUSTIN

What a joke-the GOP has really lowered their standards. I thought they were God’s party? What happened to bearing false witness? What happened to turn the other cheek? What happened to we are all god’s children? I’m ashamed of the GOP…if we don’t win it’s because we’ve turned away from the core principals of the GOP, fairness, honesty, and civility and inclusion. At least that’s what I thought when I joined the GOP-no more, I’ve declared myself an independent meaning I will vote for Obama to send a message to the McCain camp and the rest of the GOP-we need change! McCain has become part of the old GOP regime he’s no longer our Maverick. What a shame!

It is rather unfortunate that the American people have drifted far away from the ideal of democracy which they are known to be its custodian. It baffles people to see some Americans fanning the embers of disunity/hatred during the current presidential election. It is time for American people to choose their leaders/ president in a conducive atmosphere than to resorting to name calling etc because the election shall come and go.When there are so many negative things been said against each presidential candidate and some marked frauds in the registration of voters, it makes the world wonder if America will be able to spread democracy or enforce democracy in other lands. The world is watching America, and Mugabe is keeping his eyes wide open. Or can the world send International Observers for USA 2008 Election.
