Palin: Wright Said Things That “People Would Find a Bit Concerning”
NOBLESVILLE, IN –
Palin came back to talk to her traveling press for the second time since she has been selected and said that she has not told her running mate to bring up Reverend Jeremiah Wright on the stump and it is his decision as to whether he does it or not.
“It’s up to him you know and what he chooses to discuss. I think that calling someone–an opponent on their record and even on their associations isn’t–it’s not mean spirited. It’s not negative campaigning.” Palin said, “It is fair to the electorate to have the discussion - the debate about someone’s record and associations, but I haven’t advised Senator McCain on who he should bring up and what his topics of discussion should be.”
When asked if Wright was more relevant than Palin’s attacks last week linking the Democratic nominee to 1960’s radical, Bill Ayers because Obama attended Wright’s church for two decades–pointed out by the reporter posing the question–she did not say either way and instead emphasized again that it is up to John McCain to make that link, “He sat in the pews for 20 years and heard Reverend Wright say some things that most people would find a bit concerning. But again that is John McCain’s call.”
Reports have been widely circulated that close advisers to McCain would like the Republican presidential nominee to go after Obama’s relationship to Wright and the vitriolic anti-American comments the Chicago preacher has made and were widely publicized during the Democratic primary. McCain said early on in the campaign that he would not bring up Wright and that it was off-limits.
This week, Palin has not linked Obama to Ayers and she said that she dropped the attack because since she brought it up voters “are understanding that association.”
“Of course, Barack Obama had been bringing it up, even in challenging John McCain on that, saying if you want to talk about it, talk about it, too, so McCain did that, and the association is out there. It’s up now to the people of America to decide whether that association is important enough to them to research and find out more about a person’s judgment and truthfulness,” Palin said.
Last week during those same attacks she said that Obama “doesn’t see America the way you and I see America.” Palin was asked if the Illinois Senator loves America as much as she does and she stressed that she knows he does, but that she believes her ticket has a “better agenda for the country.
“I know Obama loves America. I’m sure that is why he’s running for president. It’s because he wants to do what he believes is in the best interest of this great nation. I believe that our ticket can do a better job for America as we reduce taxes and reign in government and allow our private sector and our families to prosper, to grow, and to keep more of what they earn and produce so that they can reinvest according to our own priorities. Palin said, “But I don’t question at all Barack Obama’s love for this great country.”
Palin has been bringing up voter fraud on the stump and this morning linked Obama to community activist group ACORN that is being investigated by the FBI for voter registration fraud. While talking to reporters she said voters are “very, very concerned” and so is she.
“I think voters are very concerned about voter fraud and as more and more revelation comes in these 13 states that are now under investigation for potential voter fraud,” Palin said.” There are safeguards already that are in place but evidently they’re not being adhered to or implemented certainly in Ohio if the secretary there not seeming to desire to reassure voters that all securities are being taken care of to make sure that there is no, there’s no fraudulent activity at all, that those who are registered to vote are eligible to vote. And obviously there’s proof that that is not happening right now.”
When asked about campaigning in traditionally red states of North Carolina and Indiana so late in the cycle she said that she doesn’t “want to take anything for granted,” but did not mention the dead heat in which both candidates find themselves in, “I think it’s wise not to take anything for granted and assume that any state is a lock for either ticket, so if there were more hours in the day and more availabilities I would hope that we can be in even more states even those that maybe were down in maybe those that we assume are a lock.”
In a lighter moment, she said she was excited for tomorrow night when she will have her Saturday Night Live debut, “I have no idea what to expect because I haven’t seen any scripts or anything else yet, but it will be fun. The opportunity to show American television watchers anyway that you get to have a sense of humor through all of this or even just this really would be wearin’, tearin’ on you so an opportunity to show that sense of humor and that side of all of this I look forward to it.”
After the impromptu press conference, I remembered that one of her infant son’s toys accidentally found it’s way to my seat. I handed the toy to her and she looked at it inquisitively and said that she wasn’t sure if it was Trig’s, but that “Piper would love it anyway!”

How interesting to hear these things from the person who did more than most to destroy McCain’s candidacy. I can’t really blame her, since the choice was McCain’s. But I hope that when the dust clears, he is able to let go of his foolish defence of her and realize what happened. Meanwhile, I can only add a request for a follow-up interview about Troopergate, AIP, the witchhunter, the preacher who said that the holocaust was a just punishment, and all Palin’s other problems. Then there could be questions about her behavior the last few weeks and whether she is even capable of understanding that there’s a problem. The list of Palin issues that need further exploration by the media is a long one, and likely to get longer.
Journalists have a responsibility to use proper punctuation when writing quotes. That is the problem, not Palin. Palin uses a distinct speech pattern, which, if written correctly, would be conveyed correctly.
Palin is such a hypocrite. Why is it that no one is talking about the fact that Palin broke the law by abusing her power as governor, as determined last week by a bipartisan Alaskan Legislative Council? The Republican VP candidate has personnally committed illegal acts and this is not even being discussed anywhere in the media, nor was it discussed in the debates, nor is it portrayed in Obama’s campaign ads. I do not understand how Palin is able to get away with law-breaking and it seems just fine with Republicans. Then she has the nerve to point fingers! She has no business running for national office with the scandals she is involved in.

Samuel’s (“Joe’s”) second role was to discredit Obama as anti-small business, yet it turns out the man is neither a licensed plumber, nor a business owner, and also doesn’t earn anywhere near $250,000., which would make him exempt from Obama’s health care levy anyway.

The problem with Palin is she has already accomplished in Alaska what Obama promised to do in Illinois, when campaigning for the Illinois legislature seats.. Then of course there is also Obama’s “my word is my bond”, which is when he decided to opt out of public financing., after forswearing to do so. This no doubt is why Israel is so comforted by Obama’s promises of solidarity. What many are failing to realize is that while cream rises to the top; so does hot air. But then why look at Obama’s accomplishment (really the lack thereof) and his promises in Illinois state political campaigns where he promised to; Lower taxes (they went up), provide health care for everyone (two billion dollars later and still the same number uninsured) and then there is improving education; well, why even go there, you can check for yourself how dreadful Chicago’s school system is.

I’m wondering why Palin wants to skirt this issue…perhaps her connection to at least FOUR arguably controversial pastors (at least controversial to all of us devout christians, but non-pentecostals)–Kroon, Muthee, Kalnin, McGraw–has something to do with it.
I’m all for practicing my own faith, and letting other people practice their own faith. But if one party is going to inadvertently “not” talk about what they see as a controversial connection for one candidate (Oops, did we just accidentally talk about it by saying we WEREN”T going to talk about it?) then the general public has the right to know about and question the opposing candidate about a connection that the general public may find disconcerting in that candidate’s past and/or present.
Is that vague and/or not vague enough? Did I effectively shift the onus of that comment to the interpreter?
But I don’t want to talk about it. Erase it from your memory. Shushannah Walshe does not like Governor Sarah Palin and takes a dig at her every chance she gets. No wonder the Governor doesn’t give her much time. I wouldn’t either. Maybe Ms. Walshe needs to fine tune her persona a bit. After all, the one she is exhibiting now isn’t getting her very far. Is she dense or what? It is the nasty women who put Governor Palin off. I find it so funny that Obamabots bash Palin. I guess she hit on a nerve that shows Obama’s flaws! I just dont think that a person that would not qualify to be a FBI, TSA or secret service agent due to their associations should ever be able to run for any elected official position most especially POTUS!! Obama would not qualify to screen travellers at airports with his ties with Ayers & Wright! How in the hell can he run for the Presidency?? Get it thru your heads, he would not pass the background check!!!!! What does that tell you??????

Palin is a real person who has run a business, town, state etc. Obama is a scam artist fake poser who is a weak democrat candidate trying to pull a fast one to get the presidency without ever having done anything besides be a mediocre attorney. Even the Democrats knew he was not the right guy as they nearly stuck Hillary in the position despite the lead he had….Obama is trying to buy votes with our money and only a fool or a slacker would vote for him.

We could. But she really isn’t connected to that one since she doesn’t even go to the church anymore. And as far as the whole Pentecostal thing, she doesn’t really adhere to that part.
Because the reason she’s at the church is to be around the things of the Lord. Read her own testimony.
Again, it’s not the same in any way compared to Jeremiah Wright, or you’d be hearing the Press shoving it down her throat by now. Fact is, you have a right to know about each and everyone of the candidate’s personal lives (not the intimate stuff if avoidable) because he/she will be your President!

My comment to your quote is, what about it? The AIP is a legal, political party in Alaska that is connected to the Constitution Party in the lower 48. Alaska elected a governor who belonged to that party in 1990. The party platform has never advocated secession as it’s founder, Joe Vogler envisioned back in 1973. Over 25,000 Alaskans are registered members of the AIP.
Todd was a member of the party in 1995 and 2000. As were many native Americans and Eskimos. Todd is part Eskimo. Eit
