Why do I have to be in foreclosure to see anything from the government package?
If you gave each of the 300 million Americans 1 million dollars each, the bailout would have been $300 billion. Less than half that was passed by the Feds, and certainly would have provided economic relief for each American citizen!
Neither candidate address the fundamental problems with the financial crisis, and most middle-class Americans will see no relief at all.
I was undesided until tonight. McCain won my vote
Am I crazy or did McCain accuse Obama of being a terrorist on national TV?? McCain is really going for the jugular…..love how he twists Obama’s words….Senator Obama can put this debate as well as the others in the win column. Obama presented himself as usual like a gentleman. McCain is drowning and he knows it so I guess he’ll do anything to stay afloat.
McCain is just rambling. His answers have made up my mind to vote for Senator Obama. I am a retired, US Marine MSGT, Served in Viet Nam during 1966, ‘67 and ‘68. I do not trust McCain with the safety of our nation or our economics.

Senator McCain saidreferring to Sarah Palin: “She is a role model for women.”
I am a woman and SHE DOES NOT COME CLOSE TO BEING A ROLE MODEL FOR ME nor would I want her to be a role model for my granddaughter!! HOW DARE HE say she is a role model for women, insintuating that ALL women think she is so great!
I’m not going to hold my breath that my comment will even be posted, much less given any considration and/or comment.
Good Job McCain! You showed what a wise man you are.
Obama will raise taxes, hurt free trade
and force government health care.
We need McCain to get us out of this recession.
I am so dissapointed.,I think he just lost the debate and the election
I vote for Senator MCain as the winner of tonight’s debate.
Ralph Watson
Senator McCain is out of touch with what health care insurance costs. A local school district family policy costs a little over $700!! This is what the COBRA payment is. So in other words: When a teacher gets laid off, he/she must pay over $700 a month to continue the coverage for 18 months! Who can afford that when you’re looking for a new job, especially. His $5,000 tax credit for families for health care would only cover 7.142 months of coverage. That is a fact!
A tax credit also takes money out of the budget because it’s another $5000 that the filing taxpayer doesn’t have to pay taxes on. McCain has NEVER addressed how he’s oging to make up for that tax loss.
MCain, it seemed, just heard the responses Obama made on raising taxes. He certainly wasn’t listening because he’d come back with the same responses over and over after Obama repeated his plan. What is wrong with him when he responds in the same way after the plan is set out again and again???!!! He comes off as stubborn and close minded! He’s a great disappointment to this conservative.
I came away from this debate just shaking my head in disbelief at our Republic presidential candidate!
MCCAIN IS SO MUCH MORE INTELLIGENT AND HAS SO MUCH MORE EXPERIENCE THEN OBAMA. HE CAN BRING US OUT ON TOP.
McCain’s sarcasm is very unbecoming! He’s stooped to a George W. Bush personality trait, and one that Hillary Clinton used at least once during the primary debates. Shameful!!!
Obama Win again
Ah, I waited and waited, but McCain still sucks. He’s a hotheadedold man who is angry that someone like Obama has the audacity to challenge his washed out, faded joe six-pack politics. I can’t wait for change, and I know I’ll find that change in Obama! Woo Hoo!!! Yes, Obama, baby, you’ve got my vote, and I’m from Alabama!!!
“Senator Government”….Senator McCain’s freudian slip was right on. Senator Obama will expand the role of government in all of our lives. Senator McCain’s Federalist tencencies leave more choice and therefore risk to the individuals and families in our society. Senator Govenrment and Senator Free Choice. A clear choice this November.
Mr Obama was inane and full of double talk……..he NEVER answered a questions. He is so proud of what he considers his educational superiority that he cannot stop looking down at the rest of us.
He is not to be trusted………….
God help us if he is elected.
McCain finally kept Obama on the defensive! Just like he should have done. Obama has a lot of explaining to do!
Obama is the man to lead our country!
Obama !
No doubt about it John McCain WON this debate hands down. John McCain’s experience really showed through, he was clear and knew the issues. John McCain has the best solutions. Obama just wants to throw money at any and all problems. He didn’t come up with any new lies but his voting record and what he is telling the American people are two different things. (Obama Lies)
Hello and how are you? I was originally for Clinton, a thing of the past now, I was totally again Sen. Obama, as I felt what I heard about his background, I am not predidiced was totally in tune w/nostradamas predictions of the next highest control will come from the middle east and it will bring bad. I educated myself and agreed and figured out I am a democrate, because of my income and lifestyle. I agreed with Obama’s views on a lot of important issues. I am a single mother of twin 6 year olds and my son is autsistic.
I became very concerned seeing John McCain roll his eyes repeatedly while Barack Obama was speaking. Imagine if he disagrees with a leader of a foreign nation and he shows such little diplomacy and respect. The foreign relations already in jeopardy between the US and the rest of the world could become more dangerous with that kind of lack of discipline.
I was undecided until tonight but McCain finally showed me he could be a great president. It’s time for someone to curtail government spending; not promising programs that will only increase spending. The spending freeze was the deciding factor for me.
If, during the debate, you understood Obama to say he will lower taxes, he lied again.
OBAMA WILL RAISE TAXES ON EVERYONE!
OBAMA WILL RAISE TAXES ON EVERYONE!
OBAMA WILL RAISE TAXES ON EVERYONE!
OBAMA WILL RAISE TAXES ON EVERYONE!
He thinks it is the only way to keep fat in government, welfare programs, ACORN and other radical organizations and keep congressional salaries fat. At the expense of the little people.
obama did not answer the questions
example what willl you cut
mcain defense ect…
obama is still saying change but not explaining
OBAMANOS!!!! VOTE McCain!!!!
what was he saying?
he was putting me to sleep. with
all his eee and aaa aea and what-ever!
OBAMANOS!!!!!!!
Mcain won the debate. Palin has more experience governing than Obama. why ia the media so biased?
Be Patriotic America!!! Vote McCain!!
Way to go Sen. McCain!!!! Great job tonight! Sen. McCain got his points across, yet in a very respectful way….unlike Sen. Barrak Hussain Obama. What’s with him calling Sen. McCain ….”John” all night…just another disrespectful act on his part. I thought Sen. McCain exposed his lack of knowledge many times over. I am proud to be an American… and proud to be voting for Senator McCain…a man with character and values!!!!!
I’m voting for the old guy. I trust him he makes me feel safe. He has nice friends, no criminals etc. He doesn’t want to raise taxes…..Obama/taxes to everyone that pays them.
Hello and how are you? I was originally for Clinton, a thing of the past now, I was totally again Sen. Obama, as I felt what I heard about his background, I am not predudice was totally in tune w/nostradamas predictions of the next highest control will come from the middle east and it will bring bad. I educated myself and agreed and figured out I am a democrate, because of my income and lifestyle. I agreed with Obama’s views on a lot of important issues. I am a single mother of twin 6 year olds and my son is autsistic. I was very disappionted w/Sarah Palin running for any office, I feel if you are going to decide to get pregnant at her age, w/knowing the risk of have a child born w/a disablilty, if it does come to term, you take care of that child, I don’t care how much money, sucess or potential sucess, you do wht is right and running for VP is not appropiate.
I have been waiting and hoping a candidate would mention not only generally “special needs”, but autisim, as it does effect 1 out of 150 children & families in America today. Again, I was disappointed in Sarah Palin decide as a mother w/$, w/life issues ie. her dtr, her youngest special needs child to run, now, I see, we do need someone to stand up for our families, to pledge and make that commitment, to continue to help our schools to help us, in turn help society, to not leave that child behind.
I have never disliked John McCain, I respect him trumendously for his commitment and service as a senator and more importantly to me, as a P.O.W., I undertand heis experience in life and issues, but now I am a swing voter, only as he brought up the fact of autism and the need to probide and educate for it. I only wish senator Obama had also addressed it.
I think McCain clearly won the debate because he was more specific about his congressional voting record. Obama continues to make “motherhood statements” but never explains how to. McCain called Obama’s hand on redistribution of wealth (socialism) and big government. I think McCain also won the health care issue. The international trade question was also won my McCain because Obama played politics and McCain gave the facts about Columbia.
I’m surprised that McCain did not mention:
1. Illinois State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.
2. Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.
3. Chicago school system one of the worst in country.
…the leadership in Illinois …..all Democrats
Govenor is Rod Blogojevich
House leader Mike Madigan
Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of former Mayor Richard J. Daley)
Senators BARRACK OBAMA & DICK DURBIN
(Look’em up if you want).
In an interview with the New Republic, Mike Kruglik, one of Obama’s early mentors in the fine art of community agitation, said of Obama, “He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better.” That modus operandi is what Obama follows on the campaign trail: quickly rattle off many things that people believe are wrong with America, get the crowd riled up and angry and feeling hopeless, and then present himself as the one who can save them from their problems – regardless of whether he can.
IMIGRATON!!!!!!!! Why didn’t the candidates talk about this issue?
Obama won…hands down. McCain sounds like my kids when they are complaining about each other.
Obama may be a good speaker, but listen to the facts. With our economic climate, don’t forget how much money Obama spent on TV advertising. If that’s any indication on his future spending, be very afraid. Action speaks louder than words. McCain is a much stronger presidential candidate. Obama’s spending concerns me…don’t let him pull the wool over your eyes.
Stick a fork in McCain, he’s done!
OBAMA WON !!!!!!!!!!!! GO OBAMA — GO OBAMA
Frank Luntz was great on Fox during the debate. The focus group really showed who is winning…and it is Obama. Notice how no one raised their hand at the end for McCain? Very telling.
McSnarly is out of touch, out of his element and out to lunch.
Hi I thought John McCain was great tonight. Obama looked very uncomfortable and perturbed over and over again looked like he just wanted it to be over. I think the opinions by the group on Fox with Hume afterwards and all was like you have been there too long and have lost your perspective and sense of reality. Juan Williams obviously has a very serious crush on Obama and his behavior is getting to be embarassing. Please release him so he can go to Obama. The others say the same thing over and over. They need a vacation. I felt that McCain was much more believable and made me feel very secure in all the things he said. Obama is same old liar telling stories he has told all along but sounds more unbelievable than ever. He has no authenicity and never tells of any of his actual accomplishments. That is because he does not have any. John does have the facts and I believe him. Everybody go home and take a nap so you can clear your minds and start over. Maud Halbert
I can not believe that we, the over 55, are left in the dust when it comes to voting on this debate 10-15-08. We may neither have the “teckie” expertese nor the capability on our phones to text. Are we totally leaving this election up to a populace of the young and inexperienced, are we all considered dinosaurs because we are not plugged in 24/7 to cell phones and i-pods-PALEEEEEAS!!
We at retirement age have the most to lose and our voices can not be heard, what a skewed way to vote on this debate. how about an old fashioned telephone number ?
I FEEL THAT OBAMA SOUNDS HEROIC AND EDUCATED ON THE FACTS OF THE ECONOMY HE MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE EVERYTHING NEEDS MORE MONEY AND NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE HIS POLICIES WILL SPEND IN ACCORDANCE TO WHO NEEDS HELP THE MOST. LIKE DON’T WORRY THE GOVERNMENT WILL FUND OUR ECONOMIC NEEDS. HE FAILS TO ELOQUENTLY EXPLAIN THAT WE ALL ARE THE GOVERNMENT AND WERE ARE BROKE, IN DEBT. NOT ONLY IS HE GOING TO MANDATE HOW MUCH WE EACH WILL CONTRIBUTE, BUT WHERE IT WILL BE CONTRIBUTED. I THINK THIS PORTRAYS THE GOVERNMENT AS OUR SAVIOR, BUT THE THING IS WE THE PEOPLE EMPOWER THE GOVERNMENT THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT POWER THE PEOPLE. I DON’T WANT A HAND OUT FROM THE GOVERNMENT I WANT OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE OR BRAKE MYSELF THE WAY I CHOSSE. I THINK WHEN YOU HAND OUT AND DISTRIBUTE OTHER PEOPLES MONEY, YOU QENCH THE PEOPLES DREAMS AND HOPE FOR CHANGE YOUR TAKING THE MONEY FROM. WHY SUCCED IF IT WIIL BE TAKEN FROM YOU ANYWAY. ON THE OTHER HAND, IF YOUR RECEIVING HAND OUTS FROM YOUR PEERS WHO PERSEVERE AND ACHIVE MONETARY ACCOMPLISHMENT, IT QUENCHES THE DREAMS, ASPIRATIONS, HOPE FOR CHANGE. I THINK IT BUILDS COMPLACENCY AMONG US, LIKE DON’T WORRY THE GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE CARE OF US. HIS POLICES SOUND GOOD, BUT IN THIS ECONOMY WE CAN NOT AFFORD FOUR YEARS OF INDIVIDUAL BAIL OUTS FROM THE GOVERNMENT. AS THE PEOPLE WE NEED TO INNOVATE OUR COUNTRY. WE NEED TO BECOME DEPENDENT ON OURSELVES, CONSERVE OUR RESOURCES SAVE OUR MONEY, AND WORK EXTRA HARD TO PAY OUR DEBTS. ITS PROBLY TRUE THAT NOT EVERYONE WILL BE STRONG AND DILIGENT, BUT LETS ALL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE THE WAY WE CHOSSE AND LYE IN THE BED WE EACH CHOSE TO MAKE. OBAMA’S ECONOMIC POLICIES ARE TOO EXPENSIVE AND WILL DRIVE US MORE INTO DEBT AND CREATE A LARGER NEED OR DEPENDENCY ON THE GOVERNMENT.
