Way to go McCain, good debate.

Obama will raise taxes and stop free trade.

We do not need a depression.

Obama you are not running against Bush, you are

running against McCain! McCain who knows how to save us

from a depression.

Comment by daniel mccarthy

No matter what the polls show, when people get into the voting booth they will still have questions. Why does Obama make friends with terrorists and career criminals? Why has Obama flip flopped on every issue? Are higher taxes good for us? Is his wealth redistribution plan a good idea? How could he sit in a church for 20 years and pay to listen to anti white and anti-American rhetoric if he did not agree with it? Is he really an American citizen? Did he lie about his religion? Etc.

Comment by Susan Peebles

I am sitting here listening to the debate and have not heard some of the questions I would like answered.
Who is paying for all of these tv ads I have been seeing for the past few weeks, and they have been mostly Obama ads. He must be spending billions for all of these ads, so someone or some powerful groups must be giving him heavy funding. Who is he going to be beholding to if he gets elected and what are they going to want from their new “employee”.
From McCain, how will he cut wasteful military spending right now if elected? I know several government employees and they say the waste is enormous and sometimes unbelievable.
They both say they want to create jobs, but they want to mandate the health care coverage that employers must provide. They want to tax businesses and create more government regulations. How are any of these things going to attract more companies to the US?
Sincerely, Susan

Obama won tonight. As an undecided who has benefited from a public education I would NEVER vote for McCain, who I once respected, after his answer to that question. McCain is an old man and if Palin is an example as the type of decision he would make as leader of the free world he does not represent me.

I’m sure everyone who isn’t “Joe Plumber” will agree.

John McCain is not in touch with me. An America.

Obama Biden will get my vote.

Comment by Mary

Bill Richardson is absolutely correct! The media would want you to believe today, that this election is done! NOT TRUE AMERICA! This race will not be over until every last vote is counted/hopefully, the votes are not tainted with false registrations, because then, what we would have, is a STOLEN White House! And shame on Obama for not taking the opportunity to clear the air and publicly apologize to Sen McCain when he had the chance during this nationally televised debate, with all America watching, for the Lewis comments. That gives us a clear view of his lack of character, doesn’t it??

TOUCHDOWN!!! FOR OBAMA!!! IT’S OVER!!!

I just heard Sen. McCain openly admitted that Sen. Obama won the debate. Right after the debate Sen. McCain told Sen Obama “Good Job! Good Job! Good Job!

Now what’s the spin for?

NO THE RACE IS NOT OVER YET! MCcAIN SURE KEEPS PUTTING HIS FOOT IN HIS MOUTH. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MAN LOOK SO ANGRY ON TV BEFORE. HOW COULD HE HAVE GOTEN THIS FAR? I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS R-TICKET AT ALL? BETWEEN HIS ANGER AND HER STUPIDITY
I THANK GOODNESS FOR THE DECENT CANDIDATES ON THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET. I A 50- SOMETHING - INDEPENDENT VOTING WHITE WOMAN AND HAVE PICKED MY NEXT PRESIDENT. MR. OBAMA IS A FINE MAN WHO TALKS FROM HIS HEART AND SOUL STRAIGHT TO THE PEOPLE. YOU NEVER GET A SENSE THAT HE IS ON UNEVEN GROUND. MR OBAMA IS MUCH WISER THEN HIS YEARS. HE IS AN ELOQUENT SPEAKER. I AM PROUD OF THE WAY HE HANDLES HIMSELF IN TOUGH SITUATIONS WITH A COOL-HEADED DISPOSTION AND AN INTELLIGENT EVEN TONED MANNER. THANK YOU FOR WANTING TO BE OUR PRESIDENT. MAY GOD BLESS THE OBAMA FAMILY AND ALL AMERICANS. PEACE TO ALL IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

Rj, as an Obama supporter, I’d say McCain saying “good job” just shows some class (whether it was for the cameras or not is irrelevant really). After this election is over, we’re all screwed no matter who wins. It’s about time we get past the bickering and start digging out of the hole we’re in!

Comment by Adrian

Rj get a clue!!!!!! You obviously were not watching the same debate I was watching. But then again Obama has clouded many peoples eyes to the fact that he has nothing to say except “talking points”. And when pressed to say something he smuggly dodges this way and that, and as Mccain stated you were not “litening” to the actual words sliding out of Obama`s mouth.

You need a President in the United States not a slick salesman…… Touchdown… gimme a break RJ.

Comment by jack kimberly

John McCain won the debate hands down. Several commo.ntators said McCaim won. I watched the debate and Kenya Obama is a great speaker it’s a shame that his brain dosn’t function as well as his slippery tongue. Obama did a lot of spewing but in fact said very little. Vote McCain-Palin for America.

Comment by gonedemocrat

I was going to vote for Mcain until he chose Sarah (no clue) Palin as his running mate
To my opinion he had better choices then her
OBAMA ALL THE WAY

Comment by stephanie

Kenya Obama? Funny how attacks on Obama are always so silly and juvenile. Yes, let’s address everyone by their nation of family origin, even if they’ve never lived there. Way to unite America! Sheesh - Where do people like you live? (so I’ll never move there)

Comment by Sue from Alaska

I agree Adrian, RJ wasnt watching the debate. And how do you percieve the idea that McCain told Obama he had won the debate. How does “good job” define “you won”? Obama did more squirming and McCain had him right were he wanted him. It really doesnt matter who wins or loses these debates, what matters is who we choose to be President of the United States. Smooth talkers and winning debates dont necessarily make good presidents. I just want someone who will get our country out of this mess that its in and do a good job for the people of our great country. Obama didnt state anything new. He dodged all the questions that McCain threw at him, he had to explain his voting positions. Look either you did it or you didnt, plain and simple, all we want is the truth.

DNC is wicked, Obama is crooked… Ayers, Acorn, Zetko, Write, Jackson…Chicago…
It is amazing that Obama can spend $500Million dollars on this campaign… Imagine how that wealth could be distributed…

Comment by Denny

The sooner people accept what is now a certain Obama win, the sooner we can all get to work rebuilding the nation. Just look at the polls gang, McCain can’t pull out of this nosedive. Its too late in the campaign.

Americans need to start pulling for each other instead of focusing their hate against one another.

Comment by DEBRA

Why is Obama such a bloviator? He uses way too many words and gets twice as much time as McCain, or so it seems. I never know what the hell he is saying, but I don’t like his judgement on friends and associates (Wright, Rezko, Ayers) so I wouldn’t vote for him even if I bought into his 95% of Americans are going to get tax cuts (THEY’RE NOT…..35% OF AMERICANS DON’T PAY TAXES NOW…..HE SURE DOES FUNNY MATH)!
HILLARY SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN/PALIN

Comment by Peco08

John McCain had Obama on the defensive pretty much the entire debate. However, Obama aided McCain in that direction because all Obama had to do was sit on his rear, since he is so ahead in the polls. Why push it? But then, Obama did look very pensive and uptight, and I think McCain needs glasses. But there has always been something askew about Obama’s crafty smile. Oh, I know what it is–when he smiles that big toothy smile, I expect him to morph right into Stanley Lpkiss, Jim Carrey’s character in The Mask. LOL

Comment by Joe S.

Jack Kimberly, your choice of words “Kenya Obama” is exactly what is wrong w/this race. Folks like yourself are side tracked w/your stereotypical rhetoric instead of focusing on the issues. What is going to happen to the economy, the war, our Health Care System. We need smart people with a solid grasp of the problems and the solutions. Not anger and unprovoked attacks that do nothing to return this country to prominence. As a Republican, I believe it motivates more Independents to vote for “Kenya”. If you really care about your country Jack, drop your stereotypes and put your energy toward community service.

John McCain will never be the oriator that Barack Obama is, but that is a gift Obama has. Unfortunately, Obama does not stick to his word. He says what he has to , when he has to. His record of voting present, shows he will not take a stand that might go against him later! I have no confidence in him as leader of the country at this time. The tax cuts he speaks of for 95% is not the total story. About 40% of the lower income families pay no income taxes now. So his refundable tax credit is really government free money, (welfare).
That is how you get to redistribution of wealth, or spreading the wealth. I don’t care that they pay no taxes, but I am not happy about giving out free money. It gets people trying to work the system. About 80% of collected tax is from the top 5%. McCain’s plan to lower taxer for all is a better plan for the economy! I myself went on Obama’s web site to see what he says he will give me as a tax break. I filled out his little form and came out with 650.00. The problem was he didn’t show how he came up with those numbers. If McCain’s plan includes the extra 3500 for an exemption, I would receive more with McCains. Even at 650.00 per year which is 13.00 per day, I would rather forgo that tax cut and decrease the national debt. I will survive without 13.00.
I will take my lunch to work to help decrease that debt.
My bottom line is in the end, it doesn’t matter what they tell us, it is if they will really do it. I believe that John McCain will!

Jack,
Kenya Obama? What kind of person are you? This is the 21st century.
I thought McCain did very well in the beginning of the debate, but lost his step as time wore on. I’m afraid that he did not gain any ground tonight.

Comment by Jim

Jim,
Kenya Obama? This is the 21st century. be a real man and at least pretend you have the ability to see beyond color.
Anywhoo, I thought McCain did great for the first half of the debate, but seemed to deflate the last half. If he had kept going at Obama, maybe he could have made a bigger impact. Sadly, I think we’re looking at an Obama presidency. God bless us all.

Tonight’s debate completely sealed the deal for me. I’m voting for Barack Obama. John McCain came away looking angry and agitated, unable to clearly communicate to the America people. If John McCain becomes president, I’m afraid that his tone and temperament would get in the way and would turn off other foreign leaders. Your demeanor says a lot when you’re under pressure, and Obama came away cool, calm, and collected.

McCain will take 1.3 TRILLION out of Medicare and Medicaid…

From the Wall Street Journal:

“John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs.”

The American people won last night’s debate. The 2nd debate was a joke. Here is what we got out of it. Obama want to redistrubute our wealth and take care of all of us just like in socialist countries and other countries leaning towards communism. He talks great (most great rulers do with big amount of followers) but his brief record in the Senate and current policies are the radical left wing of the Democratic party.

Voter Fraud is a felony and I am urging ALL Americans to write or email the US attorney general to investigate ACORN; the main stream media has already identified 15 states with suspected illegal activity. email: AskDOJ@usdoj. snail mail: gov U.S. Department of Justice 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20530-0001. Here is what I sent and where: Office of the Attorney General, Dear Honorable Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey: As a citizen in this great nation called the United States of America I am writing you about my concerns with voter fraud and the organization called ACORN. I strongly urge for the Justice Department to investigate ACORN. The main stream media has informed the public of at least 15 states where fraud has been suspected. The Presidential election may be affected and at least the Democratic primary has been altered with regard to fraudulent activities. Concerned Citizen in Maryland, USA
