I don’t see any coal producing states voting for Barack Hussaine Obama because what he and Joe Biden has said about coal production,no coal, thats what they have said.
Conserning MCcain,he needs to let people see what Obama really is,A friend to several terrorist,a friend to several racial orginations,he is the one thats worse than George Wallace, and he is against the American Values.

You maybe thinking of voting for Obama with his promises that make you feel he is going to fly you to the moon and stars, Jupiter and Mars. Exciting, really. Think again. Better to stay on earth with John McCain who would probably tell you he cannot fly. Cucufate T. Catral

Actually the polls are wrong: they are only sampling small groups of people. 600, 1,000, or 3,000 in the case of Gallup. (even still many are within 4-6 pts)

How about a poll of over 90,000 people?

AOL has a straw poll that you have to use your AOL account to sign into, enter the state that you live in, and can only vote once. (unless you have multiple AOL accounts I guess, but who would have more than 3 or 4 anyway?)

Wanna guess who’s winning among the 90,000 people?

McCain, by 10 pts.

Narrow Lead? Are you kidding? That doesn’t look narrow.

I have enjoyed watching the republicans and McCain eat one another all morning. There isn’t a person standing that wants to be associated with or take credit or the McCain campaign. It’s kinda sad even from the left.

Obama is taking hope and recovery plans while McCain is talking about his standing and fighting to save his run for office. Get back on message John…..if you ever had one.

Comment by patmosburg

seeing that mr.Obama is so intelligent and McCain came in fifth to last in his academy class I am really surprised that Obama not farther ahead in these states. After having a less than intelligent president that has destroyed this country I sure do want an intelligent person in office and don’t care if the color of his skin is purple.

And according to ACORN in the Cleveland Investigation there is no fraud since there hasn’t been a vote. Oh so now we should not prosecute anyone for getting a single individual to register SEVENTY
THREE (73) seperate time for Twenty dollars and few packs of cigarettes.

I cannot believe that Sen Obama has not pulled his funding for this organization and verbally hammered them for their misdeeds, or does he condon these types of actions?

Sen Obama/Sen Biden please respond, do you condon these actions and will you pull the funding and ask for a complete refund of your campaign dollars?

As McCain and Palin continue to flail, flounder and throw mud (or worse) at Obama, Obama’s lead continues to grow. Another day has passed without the Republicans putting forth what they will do about the economy…all they are doing is attacking Obama. McCain and Palin are throwing red meat to crowds of voters that they already have…and doing nothing else. They are not getting undecided voters to come over to them…the undecided voters are gradually going to Obama.

McCain says stupid things like “I’m going to whup his a**” at the next debate…even though Obama has cordially kicked McCain’s butt in the last 2 debates. Palin is busy saying stupid things and inciting anger and hate. They are not on the same page. The McCain campaign strategy keeps shifting to a new strategy before anyone can figure out what the last strategy was.

Even the conservative attack dogs are in disarray, stepping all over each other’s negative message.

And some of you wonder why McCain and Palin are losing? How can they possibly win when they are acting like 2 years olds?

If McCain looses Ohio, it’s over! He needs to get back on the message and quit the scare tactics right away. It isn’t working.

When you interview just a few people you don’t get the true picture.
Do you really think that people are going to tell you the truth?

I vote against Hillary in the Primary and voted for Obama which a lot of people had done.
Now I will vote for my candidate the next President of the United States, John McCain.
The most educated, experienced administrator of the two candidates.
In life you can’t learn it all out of a book even if you are a full time dope smoking student.

Whit Sarah Palin on the McCain ticket you can not go wrong. These two people will lead America to the success that we have always achieved and other Countries have always admired.

LEADERSHIP YOU CAN TRUST

VOTE NOVEMBER 4TH FOR McCAIN/PALIN ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET

I was a Reagan Republican, voted for the current crackpot twice hoping he would follow in the footsteps of dear old Ronald Reagan (which McCain is not!). The again my last vote for a Bush was more a vote against ketchup queen Theresa Heinz. But for the last election I switched to Independent following Bill O’Reilly’s lead, and at present am staying there, but putting my energy behind Obama. He has the gumpshaw of a Lincoln. McCain is the end of an era, I cannot look at him for the next four years on my media screens.

“Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakan, announced in Feb. 2008 that Obama is the Messiah! Now, since Islam believes in Muhammad then Obama is Muhammad in the flesh. What does this tell Christians?” Well…it tells us Christians that Farrakan is wrong…Mohammed is dead. It does not imly anything about Obama, however. And Obama refutes Farrakhan. Obama does not think he himself is the Messiah. There are a lot of people that say they worship Jesus who don’t really know Him, either.

Talked with my daughter (lives in Ohio) on the phone last evening. She said it is an absolute disgrace the way ACORN people are signing in people to vote……over and over and over. Not only are they signing up the homeless, they are even bussing them in from Michigan and signing them up. NOT JUST TO VOTE IN ONE COUNTY, BUT TO HAVE THEM VOTE IN EVERY COUNTY THEY CAN GET THE BUSES TO!! She has been harassed something fierce in the cities.

However, knowing how Obama has gone about winning previous elections, this kind of garbage is to be expected of him. The shame is, that the citizens of Ohio are not screaming their heads off in protest! They should be marching in the streets.

And as usual, the MEDIA IS IGNORING IT SINCE IT’S OBAMA!!!! And he is in it up to his neck…….even giving them $800,000 to help in the “getting out the votes,” whether legal or not.

Sarah Palin got an 841 on her SATs—combined SATs. No Joke. They made the mistake of showing it in a photo with her and you could read it. This should scare anyone. She is dumber than a stump…as if you needed more evidence than watching her Katie Couric or Charlie Gibson interviews. Keep in mind she has a degree in JOURNALISM. That’s right folks, that is a COMMUNICATIONS degree…and yet she can’t communicate. I understand why John McCain picked her. He needed someone that made him look smart by comparison-a truly daunting task. McCain by the way, might just be dumber than G.W. Most random Americans on the street are smarter than this pair.

It just makes me laugh that so many of you conservatives prefer to ignore the polls — even your beloved “fair and balanced” FoxNews poll shows Barack Obama winning. The fact of the matter is that Obama is pulling ahead and McCain is falling behind. You’d better get used to the idea of President Obama. No whining or crying now, the rest of us had to put up with Bush-Cheney for 8 long horrible years and you can be quiet for the next 4 years like good little boys and girls. Republicans brought this on themselves…..

So commonsense, I guess you have spoken with a sampling of all “smart” people to determine whether or not they have caller I.D.? And seriously - caller I.D.? Let me guess you have the fanciest walkman in your neighborhood. Younger, more educated types are more and more turning to no land line and only a cell. Unfortunately for you this group is made up predominantly of younger people that are strongly leaning (as a statistical group) towards Obama.

Really?! Wow this is such a ridiculous comment it is hard not to just break out laughing. But then you realize that there are actually some “people” out there that buy this garbage. These have to be the people that make up the 12% that believe this country is on the right path. Let me guess…..you voted for gw twice and with confidence?

John McCain is a good American. That is not a good enough reason to elect a 72 year old with a bumbling hater of a vp candidate into office. Obama 08

Mr. Hopper

it is funny that you mention AOL’s poll. Aol is one of the oldest Internet Providers around. Their customers are usually older people who have a hard time with change. It makes alot of sense that they would be for MCcain. The fact that they overpay for an inferior service doesnt make them the best canidates to decide our countries fate. I am an idependent who is leaning Democrat but my vote is still up for grabs. I just wanted to point out the bias in your poll comment. Mccain is blowing this election just like the one in 2000 because he is out of touch with the average american. He cant see the Swift Boat coming because the people who are running his campaign are not looking in the right direction. When all your talking about is Obama even though it is negative the only one being talked about is obama from both parties. Mccain’s plan sucks and that is why he is losing. Stop trying to show america that Obama is a bad guy and show them why your plan is better. That is your only saving grace because your campain is going down faster then your plane in Vietnam. Oh yeah, you should drop Palin because that choice kind of proves you dont know what you are doing. Good Luck, you will need it.

Comment by Andrea

hey patmosburg,
educate yourself. bush also went to harvard. that’s hardly an argument for you on obama’s behalf. and fyi…obama nearly failed out of occidental college before he went to columbia and has admitted heavy drug use of cocaine. sounds like a smart guy. and from your typos, i’m guessing you have no room to talk.

Comment by BighornCowboy

What Obama doesn’t tell you is he wants to raise taxes on everybody. Everybody knows increased business taxes are passed along to customers. That’s the fundamental weakness in the democrat socialist strategy.

Comment by Andrea

irongrumma,
how do you figure that the poor pay more taxes than the rich. you are dillusional! the top 10% of working people pay 70%, yes 70% of all taxes. the bottom 40% pay NO income tax! this is typical of most obama supporters i’ve come across. you’ll have no one to blame but yourself if obama wins and drives this country into the ground.

Comment by Patti

A response to the comment about the AOL poll…and the 90,000 people?

Where you should be watching and worrying (for Mr. McCain) is in electoral votes. I think that this race is going to be very tight, and it is the candidate who wins the ’swing’ states and their electoral votes who will win.

And that will, Thank you, God, be Barak Obama.

Comment by vicki

irongrumma, what are you smoking? The rich which is about 5% of Americans pay for the majority of the taxes. Obama promises 95% tax reduction, mathematically does not compute. over 40% of Americans do not pay tax, what does that say…redistribution of income. Average americans are paying 28%-30% of their payroll in taxes to help the so called poor people, which I truly doubt b/c alot of gov’t programs are failed programs with alot of fraud. Totally wasting my hard earn money. So why don’t you go get a real job and work hard like everyone else and not expect hand outs.

Comment by Brad Jordan

Is American’s really this stuipd? Can’t they see the hand writeing on the wall, that Obama is not fit to be president or run any public office as far as i’m concered.PEOPLE JUST DON’T GET IT”.SO SHUT THE PIEHOLE AND LISTEN”.

Here’s what I’ve got to say to this: this strategy isn’t working. It’s time for McCain to go back to the economy and national security.

For a week in April and now in the past eight days, Yahoo’s news cover mentioned at least one attack on Obama’s connection to Ayers almost every single day. The liberal media is reporting these attacks too–probably around 70% as often as Fox does. You’d think after so many days running it would have an impact on Obama’s lead, but it hasn’t. So it’s not working. McCain needs to go back to the economy and national security.

McCain has a good economic plan, but when he runs attacks on the Obama-Ayers connection, that shoves his economic message off the front page. The people aren’t buying the Obama-Ayers connection, and they don’t know that he has a good economic plan. So it’s time for McCain to focus on the economy and national security.

This is a familiar pattern. Whenever a candidate falls behind in the polls, his strongest supporters say he needs to go for the jugular. But undecided voters don’t like it when candidates go for the jugular, especially when it takes on overtones of desperation or conspiracy theory. So it’s just not a winning strategy. McCain needs to go back to the economy and national security.

Bill Kristol is right about this one.

I think that McCain can make up ground quickly if he and his advisers effectively detail for Americans how flawed (deceptive) the Obama tax plan is.

Here is an insightful analysis in today’s Wall Street Journal (called, “Obama’s 95% Illusion”), detailing the reality of Obama’s tax plan (a.k.a., “welfare”). An interesting read - here:

Illinois Bill,

“John McCain will be our next President regardless of what your polls are saying”….

I am sorry, W is not running this time, and if McCain loses, he WILL NOT get into the White House.

Maybe McCain should try and scare the electorate into voting for him? At least I wouldn’t mind having a beer with Bush. While making snap judgments might have worked for McCain in the past, he lost any chance of my vote with the Palin choice. I was leaning towards the democratic candidate during the primary season, but by no means convinced. McCain has done nothing but push me away with moves like choosing Palin. She has set women in politics back a bit in my opinion. I would rather have someone knowledgeable as opposed to nice.

Comment by Lulu Zoe West

First we tell McCain to come on stronger and then Obama says his feelings are hurt and he wants to be talked to like his mother would.
Gimme a break. Obama is a radical and leftist in the scariest way one can imagine.
Obama is not the one just because he is the new kid on the block and using race to get votes.
It ain’t over til it’s over and my vote will not sway. I am voting for McCain as an Independent and there are other folk who will cast their vote for McCain also who just have not expressed their views widely.
Ohhh yeah, there are more signs on yards for Obama for Republicans like privacy and not having someone smash their window for fear of being called something or another and when they cast their vote, it will be for McCain.
And, what about the so called registered Dems; well, there are those who will not be voting for Obama for he is so far out that it scares even the most dedicated party liner of Democrats also.
Playing safe or so it would appear. Threats of riots if we don’t vote for Obama just don’t cut it.
I think this will be a very close race and we could see McCain as our next President and this would or will be just great.
Obama’s promise for instant relief to everyone the minute he becomes Prez is another messiah wand that just won’t wave over anyone.
Dems want complete power over all of America and will bankrupt us.
The war is the reason for our current debt while the financial mess is that of the Dem’s doing and we sure cannot count on them to fix anything. All they have is another gov’t program that every American will pay for and it won’t be just the rich. The class envy tool just won’t work for it is not justifiable and anyone can see through false promises.
I gotta wonder if the ACORNs will gather just registers but no votes. Gotta show up to vote. We’ll see.
This is really gonna be some kind of election year with all that is taking place and going on and all the characteristics of it so far have shown that it is not going away.
Voting for the old man and the pitbull. Don’t need empty rhetoric with fancy words and empty meanings. I am not booing Obama; I just am not about to vote for the Democrats for their platforms are out of sync with reality.

Comment by ILLINOIS BILL

The Rich are supporting this Country. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS TAX CUT THOUGHT FOR THE POOR.
OBAMA says that he is going to cut taxes on 95 % of the working Class.
Let it be known that with the tax structure we have now about 50 % of those people pay little or no tax.
The reason they don’t pay taxes like the top 5% of the people is because they are dependent of the Government to assist them and that is SAD.
Get an education, get a job or two jobs if necessary and start paying your fair share rather than depend on that HANDOUT FROM UNCLE SAM {you YOUNG and NON tax payers don’t know he who he is}.
I think the Fairest Tax would be a FLAT TAX with NO LOOP HOLES, paying on gross income
ALL WOULD PAY THE SAME AMOUNT OF FLAT TAX. The Rich and Poor.

Then reform the welfare program so that if a family didn’t earn the minimum family wage then the government would provide them income to meet the medium Family income.
Would there be Fraud but it would have to be a totally reform program with Watch Dogs all over the place.
I think then the POOR would feel better about themselves.
One last note all would have to prove American citizenship to collect from the Government to make adjustment to the minimum family income scale.

The bad part about this it would still be in the hands of the politicians which still causes corruption.

I do feel a flat tax for all is the way to go for America so all pay the same amount.
NO LOOP HOLES {no deductions whatsoever }NO WAY TO CHEAT PAY ON GROSS INCOME ONLY
A COMPLETE REFORMED PROGRAM

To irongrumma, you have been listening to the liberals for far to long. It is 5% of the American Public that you consider the rich that are keeping this Country afloat as well as to many other Countries,
OBAMA wants to cut taxes for 95 % of the working force. Obama is not very smart in economics and is attempting to snow the POOR or as he says the working force.
Of the 95 % that he says he wants to cut taxes for only 45 % of thise working People are paying taxes.
This means 50 % of those working are not paying taxes and the RICH have to carry that load as well as their own
That is Not a fair system and the taxes should be CUT on the HAVES and Increased on THE HAVE NOTS to balance out the tax burden so all are paying their fair share.

There is so much garbage in some of these comments. Obama is doomsville. He will attempt to control America. He is already offering Universal health. That is a start of it. Government controlled insurance. Talk with other countries that have it. Like England. It is bad news.
I think McCain has the best to offer and I am not wealthy. I worked hard for 30 years to get my retirement. I vote for McCain/Palin.

Go Palin! Palin is 10 times the Man Olamo is. We will pay big time taxes if the Crazy crowd wins. And as for Mr. MBNA credit card bank( Biden), He has always given the CC companys what they want. If you have CCards - Good luck. Don’t let the elite beltway media vote for you. To show your vote check out PitbullPalin.org

“Leadership you can trust”???

Can you say “ethics violation”? And she hasn’t even been elected to the VP yet! No thanks…I’ll stick with Obama/Biden. At least they have a clear message; one they can stand by and don’t have to defer to scare tactics and smear campagins to rally the vote at the eleventh hour. Even Bill Krystal has had to admit that the McCain campaign can’t stay on message.

You’re “darn right” I don’t trust McCain/Palin. Am I voting for “that one”? YOU BETCHA!

The AOL poll is skewed as only old people continue to have an email address there. Only idiots continue to pay money to keep an antiquated address. That said, AOL draws very similar parallels to John McCain. Only people who are afraid of change continue to pay money so they don’t have to. Also people… Please learn to spell and use grammar properly. It is embarrassing for us all.

It is apparent that Pennsylvanians are finally beginning to see the light - the Republicans have historically made things from bad to worse for the lower-income, hard working bluecollar Americans, and by putting McCain in office. it would only continue the downward spiral for not only them, but for the ever-fading middle class as well….. McCain=Rich Get Richer; Palin=Ignorance and Intolerance. Not a good recipe at all!

My mother is from a small coal mining town in PA; she grew up very poor and also rejected because she was from one of the only Jewish families there - she has grown up to be one of the most loving and tolerant DEMOCRATIC woman I know - she is proud to be a Pennsylvanian AND an American, and although she is now quite wealthy, she adamantly believes in the Democratic Party, and in the hope and the change that Obama/Biden will bring. She knows too that Together we can make a difference.

Obama/Biden in ‘08!!

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXCharlie, Obama got involved with ACORN back in his chicago days as an Organizer. He trained these people..he represented these people in a law suit against CITI BANK. ACORN wanted sub=prime loans for people who could NEVER afford homes so Obama helped them beat the bank down. He trained these ACORN people to agitate the loan officers,to “get in their faces” is the term he used. Obama is part of the problem, not the solution. A known president is what we need, not unknown~

Please People! Listen! Your taxes are going to go out the roof if you put Obama in office-study his plans as I have and listen to the economists. He’s a great orator, and that’s how he is fooling those who don’t study the facts. He will take from the ones of us who work and give it to those sitting at home on welfare or roaming the streets!! Small businesses will suffer and their employees will lose their jobs-don’t be one who is fooled by rhetoric-know the facts before going into that voting booth.
We don’t know this man “Obama”,we only know of his associations with Ayers and Wright-think about it.
