Hank’s “McCain Palin Tradition”

Unveiled today at the McCain Palin Virginia rally, a new song by Hank Williams Jr, a member of country music royalty, and also known by football fans for his Monday Night Football theme song. The Pro-McCain song is titled the “McCain-Palin Tradition” .

Listen to Bocephus’ song here.

Sing along, if you’re a McCain supporter and feel so inclined, with the lyrics here:

McCain – Palin Tradition

By Hank Williams Jr.

The left wing liberal media have

Always been a real close knit family

But, most of the American People

Don’t believe em anyway ya see

Stop and think it over

Before you make your decision

If they smell something

They’re gonna come down strong

It’s a McCain – Palin tradition

Now this old Union’s got problems

That is plain to see

The Democrats bankrupted Fannie Mae N Freddie Mac

Just like 1, 2, 3

The bankers didn’t want to make all those bad loans,

But Bill Clinton said you got to

Now they want a bail out, what I’m talking about

Is a Democrat liberal who doo

CHORUS

John N Sarah tell ya

Just what they think

And they’re not gonna blink

And they’re gonna fix this country

Cause they’re just like you N ole Hank

Yes John is a maverick

And Sarah fixed Alaska’s broken condition

They’re gonna go just fine

We’re headed for better times

It’s a McCain – Palin tradition

I am very proud of America’s name

Bu no society is perfect

And we have had our stains

If I’m down at the coffee shop and

Somebody wants to give our flag friction

We say please move on

Cause we’re standing strong

That’s an old John McCain tradition

CHORUS

John N Sarah tell ya

Just what they think

And they’re not gonna blink

And they’re gonna fix this country

Cause they’re just like you N ole Hank

Yes John is a maverick

And Sarah fixed Alaska’s broken condition

They’re gonna go just fine

We’re headed for better times

It’s a McCain – Palin tradition

Some are bound to tell you I’m

Preaching to the choir

And that is very true

And we are going even higher

Like a mama bear in Idaho

She’ll protect your family’s condition

If you mess with her cubs

She’s gonna take of the gloves

It’s an American female tradition

CHORUS

John N Sarah tell ya

Just what they think

And they’re not gonna blink

And they’re gonna fix this country

Cause they’re just like you N ole Hank

Yes John is a maverick

And Sarah fixed Alaska’s broken condition

They’re gonna go just fine

We’re headed for better times

It’s a McCain – Palin tradition

Neat…..Obama has 1,000,000 musicians in his camp and they cater to more than toothless racists.

Comment by Kelly Flanagan

Palin and her husband are not proud of America and want Alaska to become its own territory. Look it up people. Google AIP and todd Palin. You should find a great article describing a militia out of Alaska that the Palins support and Todd was a registered member.

I actually appreciated this song…despite all the haters out there.

At least Fox does not bow down to Obama like MSNBC…used to read them all the time but finally brought to reason by friends.

Comment by N

Very Hank Jr-ish but he got the facts straight, and it is nice to see something real that hasn’t been polished to high sheen with rottenness inside. American tradition and values are being fought for here, and even though I don’t agree with all of this party I would still always vote for the America that is great so this year it will be McCain and Palin.

Comment by Marilynn

Kelly, the words you’ve chosen in your comment revealed a lot more about you than you think. In other words, you have revealed yourself to be just as prejudiced as those you condemn.

Yeah. A hypocrite. Exactly.

All I can say is this… The rich will become poor…The poor will remain poor….and our economy will become broke… Who will send me my welfare check then? Somehow the lefties will blame that on Bush also…….. PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!!!

Love the tribute to all of us Americans, Hank.

Fox News, it’s so totally refreshing to hear the UNBIAS views that you have here . I used to listen to MSNBC, but can’t STAND to hear ONLY good things about Obama, and hateful things about John McCain and Sarah Palin. Thank you for letting us hear Hanks’ tribute to these two very great Americans. Both of whom, no matter all the hurtful things that many of the media has said, still fights for their fellow Americans.
Thank you,Cora Miller

Kelly…country music was born in the old west by cowboys that settled this country. No truer lyrics were ever sung. I would take one country song over the 1,000,000 of Obama’s musicians. By the way, being toothless doesn’t discriminate, I’m certain that someone in your family is without a tooth or two.

it is surely obama is trying to twist the american values. when on earth we elected a president that was related to a terrorist, a thief, a hate preacher, a vote frauder, radicals, liberals, no experienced, when did we allow ourselves to be taken advantage by an intelligent man. when did we allow those radicals to win over us? we have to stand up, and fight the future of america is in our hands.

Comment by C Wright

You go Hank!!! The truth hurts doesn’t it? Why does this song upset the dems so much ….? They no it is true. Why are they so upset when their candidate is shown to be connected with terrorist?….Why worry if all this is not true?………..BECAUSE IT IS ALL TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OBAMA THE SOCIALIST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by C Wright

HANK KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING…..AS OPPOSED TO A BUNCH OF INNOCENT LITTLE BRAINWASHED FIRST GRADERS IN CALIFORNIA. ….FUNNY, ALL OF OBAMA SUPPORTERS ARE EITHER BRAIN-WASHED OR BRAIN-DEAD AND MOST OF HIS SUPPORT IS THE RESULT OF ACORN, BILL AYERS, JEREMIAH WRIGHT,ETC. ….ALL SHADY RELATIONS. OBAMA MAY WIN BY VOTER FRAUD. I WOULD HATE TO KNOW I HAD TO STOOP THAT LOW TO WIN. EITHER WAY, IF OBAMA WINS THE COUNTRY WILL BE DESTROYED. LIKE THE OTHER GUY SAID: THE POOR WILL ALWAYS BE POOR AND THE RICH WILL BE POOR AND JOBS WILL BE LOST…BUT FOR THOSE THAT SUPPORT OBAMA THIS IS WHAT THEY DESERVE. IT WILL TAKE THIS TO BRING AMERICA TO IT’S KNEES.

Comment by debi

I hate msnbc, they are so democratic. And Oboma with his Acorn….yes, bring in the “race” factor, make sure blacks are registered to vote. How arrogant to think they would vote for you because they are black. McCain for all races. And I love ya Hank, you represent 3/4 of American population! We are a family tradition. This WV hillbilly knows COUNTRY FOLKS CAN SURVIVE!

Comment by Seth Huggins

Sorry if our GOP songs don’t call Hillary a b**ch, but I would rather have one Hank Jr. than 1000 rappers. Obamacrats hate real Americans like you and me. Vote McCain/Palin 2008!

Comment by TexicoFromMexico

Sad, Sad Commentary when the Republicans can only get a washed up singer from 20 years ago…no wait, he was even washed up twenty years ago…..but hey this is the guy that goes around singing about dixie and that south will rise again…..have you noticed that Republicans want people with small minds in the White House? Must be true of the musicians they listen too as well.

I can hear the song now:

“If John McCain wouldve won we woulda had it made”…..we would had mo more MLK holiday!”

McCain/Palin Campagn reallypicked a winner this time.
They accused the Obama Campagne of playing the racial card.
Look at the person they had singing on stage with them today.
Hank Williams Jr. have always been a thorn in the side of Blacks.
He sang songs slandering Blacks and all the time wearing his
famous shirt with the Confederate Flag on it. He has really helped
me make up my mind.

I’ve heard comments from Obama supporters calling McCain “an albino chipmunk” and ” an old white man”, but I guess to them those comments aren’t racist, huh? I am so tired of the double standard being used in this election. What’s fair for one should be fair for the other. Calling Hank Jr. crowd a bunch of “toothless rednecks” is just as stupid as some of the other comments I have heard coming from Obama’s supporters. Yet, the McCain camp is charged with trying to stir up hate because they insist on talking the truth about Obama’s history (not his race, by the way). I see once again, a double standard. None of these horrible statements (opionions) should be flying around. Let’s stick to the truth and keep your dirty, mean-spirited comments to yourself. And, yes Obama has admitted to hanging with Ayers, so that makes it true. We can all have our opionion on what he feels about their relationship and how comfortable Obama is with terrorism. But, no one, that I have seen or heard, has made any comment on the color of Obama’s skin. However, I can’t say the same about McCain.

Comment by Lena

Obamas link to the Rev. Wright is no more Racial than
McCain/Palins to the Raciest (Hank Williams, JR) that
wear the Confederate Flag and sing raciest songs. Check.

I thought it was awesome, I can not understand why Obama gets so much hype. The man can’t even answer a question without floundering around. I don’t even want to think about an Obama having the keys to the white house. We were built on freedom not socialism.

Hank Williams! I used to like you. Now I love you! America was built on grit not socialism. How can anyone who claims to be an American vote for Obama. I want to see all his credentials..the ones he refuses to show. The birth certificate, the college proof. I want to know why he went to Wright”s church for so long when he didn’t (supposedly) agree with his views. Come on, people, be afraid, be very afraid!

I think Hanks’ song was ok, a sincere opinion expressed in the medium through which he is best known and very successful at.
re: K.Flanagan - I live in Tennessee and I am neither toothless nor racist. I find it ironic that comments like yours’ seem to come from the Obama camp while the media claims just the opposite. Unlike some of your mis-informed angry Obama supporters blogging here at FOX, you can form a grammatically correct sentence also ironic since that seems to overwhelmingly be a trait of the McCain-Palin bloggers. “1,000,000 musicians in the Obama camp”???? I can only surmise that you did not spend as much time in math class as you did in english.

Isn’t this the same guy who sang, “If I get stoned and sing all night long, it’s a family tradition” and “the hangovers hurt more than they used to, and corn bread-n-iced tea’s took [sic] the place of pills-n-ninety proof”? Oh, and I’m sure Fox would like to know that his son is a notorious Satanist.

I was once a fan.

I’s clear that the substances have rotted junior’s mind.

Pathetic, washed up old drunk. And, the only news Fox could find, apparently, that wasn’t about the McCain/Palin implosion.

Comment by Kathy

Great song! Say it like it is! We need more American Spirit like that brought back. I say give a hand up not a hand out. Hand out’s just make people more lazy and they don’t tap into their talents to achieve better things for themselves. McCain will give the opportunity for people to get the education they need to follow their dreams and ambitions. If you just give people things well that’s all it is they have no desire or need to educate themselves and to strive for better things for themselves. And with McCain businesses will stay in America because they will be able to. Obama will tax them out and therefore there will be no jobs. Yes I can spell the word too J O B S!
You have to be a business before you can create jobs. Dah! And as for spreading the wealth well when it runs out then what? We will for sure be taxed again and again.
Economic illusionist Obama.

Comment by Linda

The democrat’s comments are sooo typical. Fox is the only media I have found that does not pound Obama into our brains and all day, every day, go on and on against McCain-Palin. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS - they’ve ran the democratic campaign! If McCain had all the associations with shady characters, like Obama has, it is ALL you would hear about but because it is Obama, most all of the media just doesn’t want you to hear too much about it. Obama is a very good speaker who has been on the scene for about 2 minutes - I hope all the McCain bashers, including the media, gets back w/us in 4 years, if Obama is elected, and lets us know how that worked out for them!

Comment by Ram

You think that McCain will be beat…don’t count on it! Everyone said Bush would not win his second term…Everyone thought McCain was left for dead during the primary. Well Lord and Behold Bush won his second term, McCain won the Republican primary he came up from behind lake a snake in the grass and clinched the primary. The best think is don’t count him out just yet, remember America always loves the underdog. America will pick him up and will carry him across the finish line…just wait and see!

In this time of discourse and doubt for me it wonderful when a guy like Hank Williams Jr. brings it all home to me again. I get so frustrated at people who cannot for some reason, see the goodness in this country and get blinded by just their own petty wants and needs. Oh I know I have mine too believe me, but Lord, we need to realize just what, and not necessarily who we are electing. We have been a country of proud people, self-reliant, answering to no one except ourselves, helping each other, believing in God and country. Now Obama comes along and tells us how terrible we are and how everything needs to be changed. We need to allow “spreading of the wealth” a point toward socialism,no one is questioning, just following. It is disheartening to me and that is why I thank Hank. I know it only a song, but it does bring back the ideals I believe in just for a little while and I know McCain-Palin believe in them. I know Obama DOES NOT!!!

You brainwashed liberals need to use your own brain for once. This entire bailout is the fault of the Democrats from Clinton onward. Look at the ads by lending institutions for refinancing homes with no credit application to 97.5 % of homes value. They have not learned from this damage to the economy. If you vote for the people destroying our capitalistic nation in favor of social programs, you will get what you deserve, but the rest of will also suffer due to your ignorance and failure to use your brain and apply logic. This county has been the strongest economy for years but globalism has destroyed that. Vote them in and ruin forever the lives of your progeny.

Get ready for your welfare checks that the Messiah has promised that he will be giving us yesterday… Does he really think that the average American does not see the holes in his flip flop tax credit plan…. Or realize he wants to grow big government.. Please someone tell him, so we can get him a one way ticket back to Chicago….

John McCain consistently gives the impression that he is not all that bright; frequently he appears to not know what to do, he changes positions often and then everything he ever does is always for him and his political status. He has clearly demonstrated all of that over his whole career and then again so obviously when he selected Sarah Palin, who is bazaar, self-focused, dishonest, incompetent and just ridiculous. Additionally we only need to look at the last eight years under Bush-Cheney and where we are today and remember, in spite of all of their claims to be different, who strongly and even arrogantly supported all of it and ask ourselves are we now going to reward and encourage that? It is very hard to see how this presidential race can even be close and it can only be explained by people being distracted and focused on the wrong things, by their giving credit to the garbage being thrown around and neglecting to focus on the issues. If we don’t want more of the same or even worse, then we had better put our biases and prejudices aside, refusing to let our emotions be manipulated, and concentrate on the reality of things. If we don’t, the looser won’t be Barack Obama, it will be us!

Comment by Noor Jivraj

Check out this editorial from the Anchorage Daily News, Embarracuda’s hometown paper:

Sarah Palin’s reaction to the Legislature’s Troopergate report is an embarrassment to Alaskans and the nation.

She claims the report “vindicates” her. She said that the investigation found “no unlawful or unethical activity on my part.”

Her response is either astoundingly ignorant or downright Orwellian.

Page 8, Finding Number One of the report says: “I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.”

In plain English, she did something “unlawful.” She broke the state ethics law.

Perhaps Gov. Palin has been too busy to actually read the Troopergate report. Perhaps she is relying on briefings from McCain campaign spinmeisters.

That’s the charitable interpretation.

Because if she had actually read it, she couldn’t claim “vindication” with a straight face.

You see, in Washington, we’re used to Republicans saying the grass is blue and the sky is green, and getting away with it because enough of them say it astounding conviction, and the media report it with a straight face. But they seem to have this old-fashioned idea in Alaska that the grass is green and the sky is blue.

Makes one wonder how, if her ticket loses, her moment in the national spotlight will serve her once she returns home. Walter Monegan, whose firing led to the Troopergate affair, now wants further investigation:

Gov. Sarah Palin’s former public safety commissioner says the governor smeared him and he wants a hearing to clear his name.

Walt Monegan on Monday asked the state personnel board to allow him a chance to disprove the vice presidential nominee’s assertion he was a “rogue” and insubordinate commissioner. The board is investigating Palin’s July dismissal of Monegan.

“Governor Palin’s public statements accusing Mr. Monegan of serious misconduct were untrue and they have stigmatized his good name, severely damaged — and continue to damage — his reputation, and impaired his ability to pursue future professional employment in law enforcement and related fields,” said the hearing request filed by Monegan’s lawyer, Jeff Feldman.

We in Washington will largely quit paying attention, but that doesn’t mean it will end.

The song this is based on is “Family Tradition”, an anthem of my teen-years, and a A1 Country Classic! Go Hank! You’ve got the best interests of the country at heart, too bad the message is lost on some in the delivery. Can’t please everyone I guess.
