Palin Denies Report’s Findings That She Abused Power
PITTSBURGH –-
The morning after an Alaskan legislative panel ruled that Sarah Palin abused her powers as Governor to get a state trooper, her former brother-in-law, fired Palin responded to a reporter’s shouted question about whether she did in fact abuse her power, Palin shook her head and said, “No.”
She added, “And if you read the report you’ll see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member. You got to read the report, Sir.”
Her denial of abuse of power puts her at odds with the findings of the report, which found her acting lawfully, but unethically. The report states that she violated the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act by allowing her to pressure subordinates to try and get Trooper Michael Wooten fired.
However, Palin’s response was within the report’s findings because it did conclude that Palin was within her right to dismiss her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, Wooten’s superior. The report stated, “Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Walt Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads,” the report cites the Alaska Constitution in those findings.
In the 263-page report the legislative panel determined that Palin wrongfully allowed her husband, Todd, to use state resources as part of the attempt to fire Trooper Wooten.
Palin then boarded the Straight Talk Express with her children Willow, Piper, and Trig for a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Her husband Todd is campaigning solo for the GOP ticket in Maine.

Look, she was insignificant in this election before, this just puts the icing on the cake. Her supporters will deny and fight for her. Her detractors will pin her down. And those independents who are trying to make up their mind, just got a full dose of awful tasting stuff. I would hate to elect a VP that has already violated ethics laws as a governor and who supports a Cheney view of the VP slot. Very very scary.
More democrat garbage collecting. Had I been Sarah Palin I might have called the trooper in and fired him myself and filed charges against him for tasering a 10-year old boy. The guy should have been put in jail…not chastised. Go over the guy’s superior’s head. But then she would have still been accused would she not? Will someone please tell me what happened to the Democratic Party? It used to be for the people and now appears to be full of liberal nuts who are sending the government down the tube!
She had the Bible in one had, and a moose gun in the other, thats not abuse, thats common sense..
one word……BUSTED! One question: If she was so concerned about the “first family” being threatened then that seems like reason enough to just fire the trooper??? Take it right to him?? Not harass his superior into firing him. I repeat……BUSTED!
Here we go again…….even caught red handed the pin-up lies to the American people. You did nothing unlawfull Sarah, we know, but you did break the ethic code…..integrity and honor. Unfortunately your an oxymoron of those words. Keep on bad mouthing Obama, I can’t wait to hear whats going to come out about you next. Please do McCain right and thats to do the decent thing and bow out of the race. No one will blame you and Mick and McCain might have a fair shot.
She was found to have acted “unethically” and she “wrongfully” allowed her husband and others to get involved. This makes her like any other dirty politician inside the Beltway. Why in the world did McCain chose her when there were so many others who would have been a better choice? To get the disgruntled Hillary supporters I guess? She’s certainly no better and no more of a reformer. She’s more of the same old political games.
Palin is just another politician. What should scare us all is that in a few short months she could be a heartbeat away from the leadership of the free world in a time of economic meltdown and international uncertainty.
It also occurs to me that, given the increasingly hysterical tone of the Republican campaign, were she a Democrat rather than a Republican, questions would be asked about her own religious views. What kind of Christian names are Willow, Piper, and Trig? Is she a Wiccan? We need to learn more about this closet Satanist. She should come clean now!
Have you ever heard of an ailment which is characterized by presenile dementia? may be that is what led to the Sarah VP pick. It is obvious that we will not win this election. John McCain has sold us to the democrats - he has poor judgment, outdated policies, no economic agenda, poor social and family values (see what he did to his first wife) and does not appeal to conservative values. His smear campaigns of late and consistent half truths about an Obama is unbiblical and stinks. Why should i really vote for him? If McCain could despise and abandon a sick wife for an affluent beauty queen, she will do no better to the American people. If he is an avid gambler as very close souces state, he will gamble our nation. I am a real conservative and CANNOT vote for McCain. I would rather vote for Obama because eventhough he is a democrat, at the very least, he has policies that will steer our nation to the right direction (economic, educational an political) and and above all, he has some respect for family whereas John Maccain does not.
Let us keep partisanship aside and be honest with ourselves for the sake of God whom we all serve and our values.

Denial is a river in Egypt…
After reading the report, I cannot believe that the trooper was not fired. Riding a snowmobile while out on a worker’s comp claim? His doctor’s approval of the trip is immaterial–if he could ride a snowmobile, then why couldn’t her perform the full duties of his job? And they have the audacity to defend NOT firing him? Crazy! No wonder she lost faith in her “top cop.” I would have too.
Palin is just another politician. She’s folksier and less informed than most and has better cheek bones, but she is just another politician. Surely even rabid Republicans must have serious doubts about her qualification to be a heartbeat away from the presidency in a time of global economic meltdown and international crises.
It also occurs to me, given the increasingly hysterical tone of the Republican campaign, that were she a Democrat, these same upright, God fearing, salt-of-the-earth citizens would be loudly questioning her own Christianity. What kind of Christian names are Willow, Piper, and Trig? Is she really a Wiccan? Surely she needs to come clean immediately on her closet Satanism!
it seems the republicans have fielded two canidates for the highest office in the land who have serious issues with ethics
You’re done Sarah..face the facts.
Obama/Biden 2008
Okay, she acted lawfully but unethically? Sounds like they are talking out both sides of their mouths. So if you are a Demoncrat you can fire anyone for any reason (Clinton fired all Prosecutors) but if you are a conservative you can’t? Bush should have fired all of them and so should have Palin. Lesson learned.
Like she said, NO, she did not abuse her power. Whats wrong with dismissing a saftety commissioner who obviusly wasn’t doing his job of cleaning up his Police force? I’m sure the Dems will disagree because they don’t want a clean government. But in the eyes of the people who want to rid this country of corruption she looks like Joan of Arc compared to Obama. Lets see….. How many times has Obama abused his power?
Man, can anyone chronicle the Sarah Palin story in her short period of being in the spotlight. It is starting to get confusing.
1. She comes on the scene on McCain’s inauguration
2. She is kept hidden from the press
3. Than her selected interviews – SNL tells it best
4. She debates Biden – I think
5. After the debate, McCain camp says no more interviews
6. Now the Troopergate report (think McCain will let her do any interviews)
7. What’s next…will her Secessionists be finally revealed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eniG9l_7its&eurl=http://news.vodpod.com/watch/4435
8. I just listen to Palin stump speech after the TROOPERGATE report came out. Her new stump speech is taking care of children with special needs. This is the same woman who held the head of wolf pups and shot them in the head one by one (you can google it and get the scoop — it is also in the TROOPERGATE report). Yes, we need a woman with such compassion for life involved with children with special needs.
Her and MICHAEL VICK probably pal around.
May be she thinks “abuse of power” means drinking too many powerade or redbull in one sitting.
Palin’s team states that she did nothing unlawful because she did not benefit financially from the firing.
However, someone posted a copy of the law concerning this at another site, and it states “The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.”
Therefore, her claims that she did nothing unlawful are untrue, if the allegations are correct. She abused her power AND violated the law, because she had the trooper fired for personal reasons.
I wonder if this is an impeachable offense.
Well, well, well…..after all the Maverick and reformer rhetoric, after all her blatant criticism and bashing of Obama all week, isn’t it nice to see that payback is indeed a B^%$. McCain should have cut this chick loose at the onset, she may have gotten the party excited but now the pin has been stuck in the balloon…..POP goes the Palin!!!! Independents for Obama 08
it would seem the republican party has fielded two problem candidates. both McCain and Palin have now been censured for ETHICS violations. this is a reflection of a long standing philosophic tenant of the republican party. you have only to note nixon-reagen bush-(both) to see that this problem is deep seated. it is a function of the paranoia of conservatism.however evolution will prevail, and all republicans will go to a static heaven, leaving the dynamic universe to the people who can deal with it.
difference between Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin?
Lipstick !
Only a Republican could deny what is clearly written - black and white: she “violated the public trust,” which is against Alaskan law for an elected official. So what else don’t we know about Sarah Palin and her performance Alaskan Governor?
diference between Cheney & Palin?
Lipstick !
If she doesn’t think she abused her power, why did she refuse to take part in the investigation…and even try to block it? What was she trying to hide?
So, what would you have done if a 10 year old relative had been tasered by a cop for “fun” ??? I think Sarah showed amazing restraint! It appears her only “crime” was not stopping Todd from complaining.
And these are the headlines while ACORN’s former lawyer, trainer, and contributor (through cover) over $800,000.00 is on the back page?
Sarah Palin is seizing on one part of the Troopergate report (that she was within her right to fire Alaska’s public safety commissioner) but ignoring another part (that she violated the state ethics code and abused her office by having her husband push to get their former brother-in-law fired).
So the headline should say, “Palin focuses on only one part of report”.
Tim Griffin, Republican attorney and strategist:
The McCain campaign is, understandably, pointing out that the Commission was biased and that ultimately Gov. Palin did not break the law. Unfortunately, the “Gov. Palin Abused Her Power” headline will be difficult to counter.
Reduce…
While Gov. Palin has brought energy, enthusiasm, and star power to the Republican ticket, her selection has raised many legitimate questions about her experience and readiness to govern. Yesterday’s finding will certainly raise more questions, take the McCain campaign off message and damage the McCain campaign. It will not have an appreciable impact on partisans who already fervently support or oppose Gov. Palin and the McCain campaign. However, it may be the deciding factor for many undecided voters—many are independents—and may sway voters who have until now been fluid and subject to persuasion by McCain into Obama’s camp for good.
This is nothing but a distraction so we will not pay attention to the millions of fraudulent restrations of Voters for Obama.
Let stop the country from being taken over right before our eyes, without a shot being fired.
Do you think we could get Jimmy Carter to investigate this like he does in 3rd world countries.
Kruschev’s forecast is coming true, we are being taken over without a shot being fired, from within.
As if Sarah Palin firing an insubordinate employee is more important the the millions of dead and underage people who a voting for Obama.
Let’s wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“You got to read the report, Sir.” is such deplorable English.
All quiet on the Wester front??? Come on, Palin supporters. Sure, the panel was BIPARTISAN and she spent the entire week attacking “that one” for putting ambition above country. Hmmm….I wonder what you would call abusing power to pressure subordinates to fire your former brother in law because things went sour? Please, find a passage in the Bible to jusitfy her behavior or explain it away with semantics or out and out lies. Palin’s people said she didn’t break the law, but the a panel of bipartisan state officials (the elected people who actually wrote the laws) seem to think she did. Would you call this putting ambition above country? Would anyone even have the audacity to call it decent? I wonder how many other Joe Six-packs have been in the position to fire blacklisted family members. Maybe she should be explaining this a little better instead of attacking Obama.
Then again, McCain/Palin has decided to be negative by smearing and, you know, Republicans rarely change a course of action, regardless of facts, opinion polls, or effectiveness, once they’ve set a plan in motion.
McCain is strapping conservative bashing points to Palin’s body like explosives and then sending her into the American political limelight like a terrorist into an American base. She is not thinking for herself. I said it, so you think about it. Palin is McCain’s very own political suicide bomber. Just send her out there to do as much damage as possible after praying to God (Although I am a devoted Christian, I don’t know if my God is quite the same as hers though) to deliver her from her enemies.
I had soooo much more respect for John McCain before he ran for President. The sad things is, I’m pretty sure he had more respect for himself too.
What did you expect her to say?
They’re always innocent….of course. The ethics is the scary thing, it was personal!
This is laughable to say the least. There is much more we need to be concerned about than one man that lost his job because he wasn’t doing his job, period!
Please see the video and pass on if you would to get the word out! We deserve better than what we have received. Only gets worse with very liberal Dems in control. They find no problem using us to get what they want. Don’t let them become a Government on steriods!
http://www.johnmccain.com/videolanding/acorn1.htm
IT WAS PERSONAL. How unethical is that?
Testing again

testing none of my posts are being accepted but say I have already posted. What is going on?
I would rather support BillAYers than be seen anywhere close to Palin. At least Bill Ayers is educated and intelligent! His students love him and think the world of him. He is acquitted and Christianity teaches forgiveness. It is not like we are voting for Bill Ayers for President, or his wife. Althou my opinion is that Bill Ayers would make a better vp than Palin! The DUD is a drag on the GOP ticket. I only wish McCain had chosen Romney….this race would have been different.
If Palin does not stop and go back to Alaska, McCain is going to lose BIG and shamefully. To save face, he needs to let her go back. She is going to cause the downfall of GOP in all races including senate, house and Governor!. Not even “Joe six pack” thinks that Palin is representing their values!. They think Jo Biden represents the joe six pack!
Palin if all lies and no honesty! She is a proven ethics violator plus she is 100% negativity and 0% positive. I think looking at her makes me want to throw up
What is the problem? This is proof that she has the qualifications to replace Dick Cheney.
Well maybe they would have found her innocent if she took part in it like she promised she would. It amazes me that McCain can talk about Obama not being honest look at his own ticket.
Any man worth his salt would have done exactly what Todd Palin did. I admire the man immensely. Anyone who understands the least thing about politics and the grudges of old men and jealous women knows what happened here.
McCain/Palin The best for America!
Go back and read that first sentence again (Palin fired or was fired?), and the last sentence in paragraph 3 (who allowed her?).
It’s obvious Fox doesn’t hire fact-checkers, but couldn’t you at least hire some copy editors?
After watching the way Sarah is willing to make false and misleading statement in this campaign, how many of you have considered that Palin and her family in the heat of a hostile divorce may have falsified statements about Wooten to punish him for leaving Sarah’s sister. Horrible things are said about people in divorce cases and in fact courts never pursue perjury in divorce filings or requests for restraint orders. The real crime is the man that stood up to Palin’s retaliation got fired. If we had more people that would stand up to out of control government leaders this country wouldn’t be in this situation.
“Gov. Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda,” This is a violation of Alaskan law. What else doesn’t she understand about the law and being law abiding? It would be a compliment to call her a female Cheney.
Senator Hollis French is a staunch Obama supporter and Monegan and him are close friends. In fact French had stated that he promised he would do what he could to bring down Palin. French is also known in Alaska as the “phony solider”.
Ms. Palin’s right to hire and fire is not at question. Trooper Wooten’s bad behavior (and he did behave badly) isn’t the issue here. The “abuse of power” is a scary, scary proposition.
Haven’t we seen much of this same behavior with the sitting President and Vice President? John McCain has for years been above this kind of action, now he finds he is joined at the hip with someone who shows the same kind of selfish and unacceptable behavior that has dragged this wonderful nation through the mud.
Partisan? Didn’t the team investigating this have more Republicans than Democrats? Didn’t this begin before she was selected (by the powers that be in the Party) to be McCain’s running mate?
Senator McCain, this is your opportunity to stand up for what’s right. Walk away from Palin. You’ve already begun to see the light. You are apologizing for her words and the actions of your political team. Stand up.
Fox news does tell the whole story. Why would you leave out most of the story?
Looking at the report she did nothing wrong, it looks like someone is trying to make points with Nobama and maybe get a position.
Less than two months on the scene and already there are charges and denials of abuse of executive power. Let’s see, how is this any different from the Bush-Cheney-Rove-Rumsfeld days of lying and double-dealing? Maverick? I don’t think so, more like more of the same. Kick the b**** out! We cannot afford to go down this road all over again.
Hmmm….violation of ethics laws and abuse of power is unethical. She violated the trust of the Alaskan people. Can’t blame the press or Obama on this one…board was made up of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats. The investigation was going on even before the Obama campaign knew she was a V.P. candidate. This is from the same person who tries to instill fear about the trustworthiness of Obama. A member of the righteous right is not so righteous this time.
This is clearly not an abuse of power. What Americans should be investigating is the unprecedented effort by Democrats across the nation who are engaging in voter fraud on a massive scale. Let’s start with George Hammerlein, director of Harris County Voter Registration in Houston with his 4000 dead registered voters. This is shaping up to be an election the likes of the dictator Mugabe or Chavez.
Palin just ran Alaska like it was her high school student council. She appointed high school friends to positions such as Secretary of Agriculture, and she whacked anyone who didn’t wink at her in the right way. Is that a big deal? Probably not if you are Alaska, but if you are talking about someone who is a heartbeat away from the presidency and you don’t want the Federal government run the same way, especially in the mist of crisis, it might be a great big deal.
Wow, does anyone understand that first sentence? I guess literacy is an optional extra at Fox News
The morning after an Alaskan legislative panel ruled that Sarah Palin abused her powers as Governor to get a state trooper, her former brother-in-law, fired Palin responded to a reporter’s shouted question about whether she did in fact abuse her power, Palin shook her head and said, “No.”
I wish people would stop for a second and put them selfs in her shoes it is clear that she has not been charged with anything and who wouldnt defend their family or community by trying to rid them selves of someone who is clearly has anger as well other issues that would taze their own kid for kicks but want to pull a blind eye view on someone who on the other hand does associate w/ terrorist, raceist, radical groups and people who clearly hate america as well as his self putting down our troops whom has not made good on any promise he has made but actually went against some of his promises he has already proven he is a liar and is a true politician you want to accuse the right side for guilt by association but isnt that what the left side is doing with G.W.Bush .McCain is his own man and it is clear his plan is different and will put us back on track not to mention keep the terrorist out and us safe.
Don’t let the media get you down, Sarah. Good luck in the election.
Excuse me, but shouldn’t the headline be:
“Alaskan Legislative Committee Rules that Palin Abused Power?
Despite your headline, the news at the moment is not what Sarah Palin thinks. The news at the moment is the finding of the committee.
This just confirms the bias and slant that you are well (and deservedly) known for.
And by the way: This was not a partisan decision. The committee was made up of 8 republicans and 4 democrats. Last time I checked, 8 was double, or two times, 4. But I’m sure you’ll downplay this too, because, in typical republican fashion, you don’t have to participate in “reality based” journalism, do you?
reformer? sounds like her version of reform is my version of chronyism. Hasn’t this kind of politics given the Repubican partya bad name already?
What a disappointment she has turned out to be. What was McCain thinking? But then when was he not disappointing?
What is left out of this article is that this report was formed from a bi-partisan panel of both Republicans and Democrats. So no partisanship can be claimed. You should note that.
Interesting….a bi partisan commission, begun before Palin was selected as VP, has some to the conclusion that she abused her power as Governor and has misused the Public Trust….but Palin still denies it.
God forbid this woman has any national power.
Plus her divisive, and inaccurate accusations about Obama will tear this country to shreds.
This is not leadership.
Shame on McCain/Palin
“The report states that she violated the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act by allowing her to pressure subordinates to try and get Trooper Michael Wooten fired.”
? Did this sentence get proofread?
On topic - from what I have read, the report says that Palin had valid reasons to terminate Monegan, but that her personal reasons contributed. I suppose that means that if I have a direct report whom I dislike, I can’t fire him for cause without being unethical. Whatever.
Bill,
I cannot understand how this is a partisan “witch hunt”? There were 10 Republicans on the review committee and it was a unanimous vote. I have supported the Republican ticket but I find this statement to be a very disingenuos position by saying basically, “I did nothing wrong”? She gives no details, and for the ticket’s sake she should speak to this in detail rather ignoring the point. Take the time, speak broadly to media outlets and stand up for your position and defend yourself whether you see in your personal opinion the outlet as friendly or not. How can this be partisan if 10 f the 14 panel members are Republican? If this is payback by Alaska’s Republican Party then why not call that out? I know I may be disagreed with, but family relative to politics should be left at the door. This report showed an abuse of power and even the slightest hint of such is not right and it hurts the ticket!
And Nixon told us that he was not a crook. Did you expect her to say something else? She has lied through the entire affair so there does not appear to be any reason to change now. If she could read, she would have know that the laws applied to her. Another great day for the republicans.
At least she didn’t call William Ayers or Louie Farakhan and ask them what she should do.
You Go Sarah!
Republicans love to twist the facts. If they say it ain’t so I guess they think they are telling the truth. All we need is another pair twisting the facts in government to support their unethical behaviors.
Gov. Palin denies she did anything unethical. She has stated this — clearly and in her own words. What else more is needed? Thus, Gov. Palin expresses a lucid understanding of the law and of the principles that will guide her in the event she is elected as our next Vice-President: a person accused of wrongdoing is, by definition, innocent if they say they are.
WHY HASN’T THE TROOPER BEEN FIRED?
WHY HASN’T THE TROOPER BEEN FIRED?
WHY HASN’T THE TROOPER BEEN FIRED?
What would you expect out of her? If she was honest, then she would come out and tell American people that she tryuly was scared and she mad a mistake. Then it would be over. This is all McCain needs now. Actually, this is what he gets for making such an eractic decision. Do we really want this guy to run the greatest nation in the world? I do not think so.
Officer, I really wasn’t speeding…
Parsing Words! The commission didn’t find that her firing Monegan was illegal or unethical, it found that her pressuring subordinates into firing her ex-brother-in-law WAS unethical. She replaced Monegan with an unqualified lackey, who she subsequently had to dismiss as well. Shades of Bush/Cheney.
I find this very disturbing. Not the conclusion, which was inevitable, but that the report basically finds that Sarah Palin abused her power… But we couldn’t find any instances of it! What are they talking about, violated the ethics Act? How? How did she violate it? She even told her husband, “Get off it”. How is that abusing her power? It is all a bunch of hearsay, emails and phone calls that prove Nothing, other than she acted within her powers as Governor! How is this abuse of power?!?! What Ethics violation?!?!?
This is partisanship at its worst. Way to go Dems! Pulling stuff out of your (pocket) again, and spreading lies as the truth through your media lap dogs! Yippie!!! What a great Country!! What Freedom!!!
We better get this woman voted in with McCain, that’s all I have to say. Anyone who wants to argue my points, have fun talking to yourself, because your probably someone from the Obama campaign or an Obama-ton. Shame on you… all of you who deny the truth. It’s pathetic.
Republicans, in general, are a scary bunch. Misinformed, immature, emotional, mean spirited- mostly clueless. I’ve got mine, & I want to keep it- the heck with anybody that wants to help those that need help. Power hungry, corrupt, decietful. I don’t want to be associated with those whom are foolish enough to support the Angry Old Man Mccain, his vile wife, or his crazy running mate palin. I’ll never vote for a republican until they fix their problems. & they’ve got a bunch of problems. Worst of all, they fill up media time with repetive, untrue propaganda- obviously they’re out of worthwhile things to talk about, lets tune them out en-masse-
Ive read the report and your petty vindictiveness is on full display, Ms Palin. The report clearly states that the abuse of power occured not in the firing of Mr Monigan, but in your obsessive attempts to have your ex-brother-in-law fired from his job.
Why doesn’t he just admit that she screwed up. I heard that she used Todd all the time to strong-arm her positions to those not receptive. She needs to bow out and not do any more damage.
PALIN “…there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member….”
Nothing Unlawful…. correct
Nothing Unethical…. Rubbish
Read the report ,lady
Let’s just hope that Sarah Palin doesnt have family problems that would impact her preformance as Vice President. Does she have mortgages that could be relieved by the congresssional bailout? Maybe Tropper Wooten is not a member of the Alaska cessation party that Palin supports and would try to keep Alaska as a state in America. I cant believe this woman is really for real!
I think the reporter needs to read his own paragraphs. Para 3 says that she violates Alaska Ex Br Ethics Act, but para 4 defends Palin’s statements saying she did not do anything unethical.
Does that mean violating Ethics Act is ethical?
I think that this is an issue that should have been a “state” matter. The democrats have gone out of their way to find any tainted background of Palin, and this is the best they could do??? So they are running with it. It has had no influence on my vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.
Now, if the republicans would go after the tainted past of Obama, I’m sure they could find some real issues. But all of the questions of Obamas past seem to for the most part fall on deaf ears.
The final conclusion of “Palin’s abused power” has no effect on me. IT WAS A WASTED EFFORT!!!
What I really want answers to is why no news service (especially Fox) is not reporting on this case in the “United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, BERG v. OBAMA Civil Action No: 08-cv-04083″, where Obama and the DNC keep stonewalling a ruling reguarding Obama’s status to Run for or hold office? US Citizenship is a question that must be answered before election time, whats everyone waiting for here?
Whats the deal, are all Fox News reporters afraid of this one, or has it just been swept aside, force the issue , make it public, put it in the faces of everyone and force a descision before its too late to matter. Jim in Bristol, NH

I like Sarah Palin and am sure the dirty, sneaky liberals had something to do with this. I see in Ohio the appeals court is going to allow voter fraud. I hope people know how this country is being destroyed by the liberals who have no ethics or morals.
I am very curious to know why, this matter had to even be handled by the Governor’s office. Why wasn’t Trooper Wooten charged criminally with child abuse, assault on a minor, communicating threats toward his father-in-law and last but not least why was having a beer in the patrol car tolerated by his superior officers. In the state of North Carolina and in most other states this would not be a matter for the Governor! It is sad that he has gotten away with these criminal charges. I’m sure if any other citizen had commited these crimes he would have been arrested, pronto! Why not Trooper Wooten? I feel sure the American public would like an answer to this question. Is Sarah Palin the only concerned citizen in Alaska? Why doesn’t the legislative committe who so readily investigated Mrs. Palin, not investigate the Highway Patrol. What other criminal offenses has this patrolman and possibly other patrolman commited, that may have been covered up or tolerated ? Why wasn’t the commissioner charged with anything?
Sincerely,
Angela Stamey
Don’t worry you little heads off about Palin abusing power. It was
just that she violated ethics and did not commit a crime. Ethics
whats that? A liberal communist concept that Bush Cheney
and McCain have condemned. As Justice Scalia said “get over it”
although he was referring to appointing the worst president in history in 2000.
She abused her power by letting her redneck husband do her dirty work. Did something need to be done about Trooper Wooten, yes. Was using her influence as governor to do it, NO!
Don’t you think the abuse of power started with the trooper in the first place? He is a paid public servant that broke the law no matter how minor it was. An open beer in his official vehicle, using someones else’s hunting permit and the worst one of all, tasering his 10 year old step son. Who in their right mind training or not would taser a child? Brother in law or not the trooper should have been fired, and when he wasn’t his superiors should have been at a minimum reprimanded. Palin did n
