Ohio Gov. Says Don’t Fear Barack Obama

CHILLICOTHE, OH - Ohio’s Democratic Governor went to bat for his party’s nominee at a rally in southern Ohio this morning to counter McCain’s “overheated” claims. “Unfortunately some of their followers would want you to be afraid of Barack Obama; they want you to believe that he is untested and unknown,” Governor Ted Strickland said.

Both the state of Ohio and town of Chillicothe went with George Bush in ‘04, and in reddish America, nothing has plagued Obama’s campaign more than rumors that he is not Christian and that he will take away people’s guns.

Speaking before the candidate for president, Strickland assured Ohioans that these rumors are just not true. “As a result of direct conversations that I’ve had with Barack Obama, if you are a sportsman, if you are a gun owner, if you are someone that honors and respects the 2nd Amendment - you have nothing to fear from Barack Obama and I want you to spread the word throughout this great part of our great state

,” he said, adding that “Barack Obama is a strong Christian family man.”

Minutes before Obama himself chided the McCain camp for their campaign tactics, Strickland concluded, “This election is too important for us to be fooled by unthruths and half truths and smear tactics. They don’t want us to focus on the fact that they have been in charge of the White House for eight long years.”

You’re right–we shouldn’t fear a man who has been associated with known domestic terrorists. A man who’s party caused this economic mess we’re in. A man who gave money ($800,000.00) to an organization who has now committed voter fraud. How many Americans could use that money!!! If you vote for Obama you are voting for our nation’s fall. Iran is salivating at the thought.

What I really want answers to is why no news service (especially Fox) is not reporting on this case in the “United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, BERG v. Hey Gov Strikland we are not afraid of Sen Obama we just want to know if what he is telling us is the truth or not. I also want to know how this affects his judgement on other matters, like national defense, security, and the economy.

Tell the entire truth there Governor; don’t be like Mr. Obama and state one thing in one place and another somewhere else!!

yeah right ? my main concern is obama’s socialist government views. Is the governor saying we should’nt be concern about that ? I believe we should. I’m still concerned about llosing my gun right, I don’t care what this governor has to say.

I’m very concerned about who obama really is - and his friends

tony rezko - born in Syria
valerie jarret obama’s cheif campaing advisro - born in Shiraz Iran

That fact that obama talked to the iraqi government telling then not to do anything about the war until he was in office ? come on people wake up ! Only a socialist, dictator type person would take it upon himself to address something like this underneath our current administration without anyone knowing. You see, that how a socialist works - he does’nt converse with the senate or congress first becuase a socialist is only out for himself because he thinks he has all the answers for his country. obama did exactly that. Do you think chavez or castro consult with a cabinet before making a decision ? no ! they do what they think is best becuase that’s what dictators do.

pay attention people

Mr. Obama changes his mind WEEKLY. this morning he used part of McCain’s speech. It was about American’s being the best workers in the world, it was exactly McCain’s. What is going on? Obama will do anything to win! If it means changing from NO DRILLING to drilling, NO GUNS to guns. Most of the men that love guns don’t think Obama is manly enough or down to earth enough to be their kind of guy to hunt with or want a gun…so this is a lost cause for Obama.

Once again, there are no specific mentions to what could be “untrue” or “half truths.” If I have to be told not to fear someone then I that is enough for me to not want to vote for that person.

McCain is wasting precious time and sqandering the goodwill of moderate voters like me who are looking for substantive comment on the issues, not smear tactics that smack of desperation. His choice of Palin was alarming enough, now, with every new vicious attack from the GOP ticket, I lose a little more respect. Why isn’t he talking about the issues? The economy is collapsing and he just doesn’t get it.

Mccain might not intend to do so (coz its impossible to know unsaid intentions) but how he says it and where or when is very important. I think the judgement to use these lines at this time sends horrible signs. If this doesnt show that he wants to divide the country- it says that he has nothing new to give or he has panicked. If McCain was a true conservative- he would have rejected the bailout bill. Or at least say something in the senate against the final bill. For someone who talks around about “vetooing the first bill that comes to my desk with earmarks”- it shocking that he voted for this bill even before he becoming a president. For someone talking about cutting spending- its shocking also taht he proposes new bail out on bad morgages (i wish i had bought a 500, 000 house!). For someone that talks about spending freeze its shocking that he owns- I dont know 13 cars and 7 houses! These are signs that we must look at. I am sure the independents see these things as contradictory to what McCain goes around saying. I think his mouth is writing checks his actions are not paying.

This country’s economy is the worst I’ve ever seen. People are suffering and want someone with intellect and caring to be elected. Not someone that keeps calling names and acting like this is just a game to win. McCain needs to stop this negative campaign of his and start acting more Presidential or maybe just more grown up.

Obama appears to hang around with and do whatever is necessary for his political career. He did not care that he was working with Bill Ayers, he did not care that he stayed in a church that spewed hatred of America…..My opinion is that he cares more about his political career and campaign than he does the people of the United States. This also shows that he will make decisions that are best for him or the Democratic Party, not for the people of the US. It is all about judgement and making choices. You can’t just suddenly stand up after years of hanging around people and denouce them or say what they did was wrong….

Comment by Anthony Johnson

Clearly, McCain is acting very erratically and is very confused about which campaign tactic to take. On one hand, he can be his old self, the maverick, and take his ideas regarding domestic and foreign policies to the American people. Or, he can listen to his advisers, trained by Karl Rove, and attack Obama’s character and play upon people’s fears and prejudices.

It seems that McCain is torn from day to day about which tactic to take and is uncomfortable in his own skin, and the American voters pick up on that. He was afraid to look at Obama in the first debate and in the second debate he seemed angry and agitated.

Obama, on the other hand, has maintained his cool, calm, and collected demeanor throughout his presidential campaign, even while taking on the Clintons and the Republican machine. During our current financial crisis, Obama has been reassuring while McCain has lurched from one gimmick to the next. America needs a fundamental change in direction and a steady hand at the wheel and the voters have now realized that Obama brings both to the table.

It will be interesting to see if McSame will bring up William Ayers at the 3rd and final debate and whether he is comfortable doing so, especially during an economic crisis while our country wages two wars. It will be so out of character for the senior senator from Arizona that the American people will realize that the old maverick has been hijacked by the Karl Rove political machine.

Greg Norman I am disgusted with your comments and those of you that will bring our country back 50 years. I am a 65 year old white woman making under $50,000 and you can put me in the Obama column. I served on many boards that I was asked to be on and yes there were people on them that had some questionable backgrounds, but I served on those boards to help people in the communities I lived in and I respect Senator Obama (whether he knew about Ayers or not) for doing good for the education of that community. Those of you that are writing racist type comments, I hope you have a church you are associated with that either at church or in private you will ask the good Lord for forgiveness.

I hope I hit the million dollar mark soon so I have to pay less taxes.

Sen. McCain should sponsor a senatorial investigation into Sen. Obama’s connections with the alleged terrorists as accused by Sen. McCain and his cronies. If he can not do this he should shut up about this Ayers and terrorists story, and talk some sense about what he will do as President better than what Sen. How can we judge, and not be judge. People we need to keep the hate out of the politican process. I only want the candidate that will look out for my best interest be it McCain or Obama. Yeah, but I have fear in someone who changes his views over and over, and was apart of a group full of racists and anti-semites. John McCain is a sell out, and will do everything he can to win, even bash his legacy he’s had. It’s pathetic, and wrong, and Sarah Palin needs to look in the mirror when she speaks about patriotism, especially when she speaks at events and her husband pays dues to a group who wants to be seperate from America, and says Hell doesnt compare to his hatred for america. Stop drinking the kool-aid.

McCain supporters…please vote for him because you believe in the policies that he has rather than believe all the Obama fear he is spreading. Go to factcheck.org and you will find that McCain is just as guilty or more guilty of misleading American’s regarding his opponents positions. As far as these character attacks on Obama and his associations, use some logic. It is illogical for example to say: “If I have to be told not to fear someone then I that is enough for me to not want to vote for that person.” It is more logical to look at the facts of Obama’s associations and the fact that they have been hashed through again and again by the press, the Hillary Clinton campaign and others and there really is much ado about nothing. I used to respect McCain. I am a conservative Independent who is supporting Obama as I believe he has the ability as well as a love for this country to lead up out of the mess that Republicans got us into…not that Democrats are fully exempt from blame but the Republican administration and majority and near majority of Republicans over the last 8 years have led us down a terrible path. This character attack on Obama is just a last minute desperate political move to try to regain the ground McCain has lost.

Don’t be scared? WHEN OUR GOVERNMENT MILITARY COMPLEX AND F.B.I. MAY BE ? Allow me to explain: The ‘Commander in Chief’ MUST HAVE ACCESS TO TOP SECRET INFORMATION.
There is an application process !! Let’s look at, according to the Form we all had to sign in the military:

”DISQUALIFYING CONDITIONS FOR A U.S. SECURITY CLEARANCE: Part 710

- ‘Membership in any organization that ‘advocates’ the commission of acts of force or violence to deny other persons their rights under the Constitution of the United States.
- Illegal Drug Use
- ‘Unexplained’ Affluence ( do we know where ‘all’ Obama’s campaign money came from ?)…..
- ‘DELIBERATE’ ommission, concealment, or ‘falsification of a material fact in any written or oral statement TO THE GOVERNMENT when applying for security processing’…

My fellow Americans (even including the ones ACORN brought into the world, which Obama headed)…as President of Project Vote…..Mr. Ohio Governor..!! I’ll leave this up to you all to analyze just these few above phrases from the official form..and ask yourselves if you would ‘pass him’…

This election has been about Unity in the United States of America. Firstly, what is bad is bad, and good is good. We all know what and where the Republican Government has led the Country to so far. Fighting two wars, at loggers heads with other international communities, and don’t find enough time for its domestic problems; why don’t the Republican accept that their chance have been a total failure led by Bush 2 administration. Give the Democratics a chance. We all have the records of Pres. Bill Clinton. The Democractics have chosen Obama for this year; and from the performance so far, Obama is better to handle the Unions’ economics, energy, social security, welfare, domestic awareness and the global glot in financial instability, and international cohesion. Americans should not be mislead any longer. Unite this first time, and change the world for the better. It will be history. McCain is a disciple of Bushes.

McCain - 1) Keating 5
2) A proponent of hanging the Confederate flag outside of the White House
3) A friend of a domestic terrorist in G.Gordon Liddy
4) A member of the US Council of World Freedom which was a gathering of Supremist, anti-semite etc etc
5) A strong member of Congress who has voted for Deregulation of banks
6) Voted against increase funding for Veteran Healthcare
7) In 2005 and 2007 said he didn’t understand how the economy works and that was reading Greenspan’s book
8) Lied about our status in the war
9) He’s an adulterer and a coward
10) He hides behind Palin and his wife instead confronting Barack face to face
11) He’s no Romney or Paul
12) Arianna Huffington predicted months ago that McCain’s team would use fear and smear tactics against Obama
13) Tax cuts for mega corporations that takes American jobs overseas
14) Long stood against earmark misuse, but ask Palin to help him reform. She requested 750 million in earmarks in two years and hasn’t returned a dime of it.
15) Part 2 coming this evening.

It is difficult to believe that if the demacrats are Americans, why are they supporting an anti American for president. It appears that the demacrats want a terrorist loving president in the White House. Obama was born in Kenya! Maybe we have a far left judge sitting on the case in Pa.

a total of 42 presidents have been sworn into office, in this great country of ours. 18 have been republican and 15 have been dem’s. of those 42 not a one has been a woman, black, asian or hispanic. we can conclude, therefore, that the economic woes we face as a nation is due to the white males who have dictated policy since the begining. now all i read about is obama’s purported relation with mr. ayers……….talk about rope a dope. i think i’m voting for change….i think i’m voting for the black guy. if he fails to perform we can do him like we did president jimmy carter!

Comment by R.S.

Ted Stricklund is a fool. The American people DO want to know that one of the presidential candidates is extreme liberal left, and WILL take away people’s guns, their money (i.e., extremely high taxes), and will create socialism with our economy, and who hangs around extremists (i.e., Reverand Wright, William Ayers, Father Pfleger, Farrakhan, socialists). The fact is, he hates America. He hates capitalism. He hates our freedoms, and he wants to take from you, to give to the people “he thinks are worthy”. Who he thinks is worthy is the frightening part of that equation. I believe that he and his wife believe in education that teaches activism before “reading, writing, and arithmatic”. That is his history with the Annenberg Foundation he and Ayers on in Chicago. Then, he talks about the failure of our schools. Well, I say, if we don’t teach reading, writing, and arithmatic, which his mother taught him, then why would he blame the schools when the children don’t know how to read, write, or do arithmatic? His logic is flawed because he does not really tell you what his logic is. He is an extremist, and he does’nt want you to know that. He can’t be trusted, because he won’t give us all the information and allow us to decide based on “all the information”. He thinks we’re too stupid to make a personal decision with all the information. To me, that is arrogance to the 10th degree!

Comment by Dorothy

The fear tactics of the McCain campaign are clearly designed to distract us from the enormous problems facing our country, any thinking person can see that. American is being watched around the world, our reputation soiled by the Bush/Cheney years and this is the time to show America as a place of tolerance, fairness and dignity. The thinly disguised racism underlying the “who is Obama, really” ads is beneath us and appeals to the fringes of our country who promote intolerance and hatred. The choice of Palin as the Vice Pres. candidate has made us the laughing stock of the world, and no one in there right mind could envision her as the leader of the free world if McCain could not serve. Even Mrs. McCain claims that Obama voted against funding for the troops, when her husband did the same thing…The desparation of the McCain/Palin ticket is sinking to new lows and is an embarrassement to our country and clearly does not represent the heart and soul of Americans.

McCain and Palin are trying to inform the public of very important issues. We have a right to know before we are coned into going to the polls and voting away our freedom. The media (except Fox who is neutral) isn’t doing their job to inform the public. Instead they are trying to cover this up and keep the public in darkness but not everyone spends a lot of time on their computer and a lot get their information from TV alone. To me, this is total deception from the candidate Obama himself. I, as many others I’m sure, can only think that unless someone brings this to the attention of the public, we are all being thrown under the bus by Obama and his campaign. Thank you Senator McCain and Governor Palin for being the voice for many of us who really cherish our Country and our Freedom.

Someone who wants complete power, someone who wants to run other people’s lives, someone who knows how to lie or manipulate her way out of any argument, someone who will never EVER take responsibility for her own failings, someone who is proud of her lack of education (meanness trumps intelligence every time), and someone who knows they’ll be rescued from any damage they may inflict upon themselves (and others) when the world comes crashing down around her. Yup - Sarah’s my gal!

Hi folks it’s me !

I’m the owner and CEO of a small international company that employs several thousand people. In 30 years, I’ve never missed a friday payroll…starting from when it was just me and a couple of other people. So.,let’s say an employee, husband /or wife and kids. That’s a lot of economic responsibility to have to them and their families. I’ve got more “Experience” in my little finger than Barak Obama has in his entire life. Obama’s never run a 7-11! Think about it: Starting from scratch, company growth, meeting with foreign leaders, getting contracts, making everything happen FOR 30YEARS! Those were all my decisions, AND ONLY MINE! AND WE’VE GROWN!

What gets me the most (aside from Obama’s TOTAL INEXPIRENCE) Remember, He’s never even run a corner store,or a 7-11.) Is Joe Biden’s TOTAL LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT A VICE-PRESIDENT EVEN DOES!) See the articles, and how the media covered it up! What would have happened to Dan Quail (who is a lot like Joe Biden) If he didn’t know what the Vice-President did? But Joe, just does’nt know! After Joe’s 37 years in the Senate, that scares me!

There are two democrat guys: Obama, with NO EXPERIENCE, running frankly on being the first Black Man to achieve the presidency, and Biden, THE CONSUMATE WASHINGTON “INSIDER ” who.with 37 years in the Senate, is THE LAST GUY WHO’S GOING TO BE FOR “CHANGE” AND DOES’NT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE DUTIES OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT ARE! And you people want to elect these POSTURERS (Meaning phooney guys who are just giving us a line) to run our country.

God Help Our Country!

So now the is when s!@# hits the fan. If Obama was born outside of the United States, he is *not* a U.S. citizen and he is not qualified to serve as president. If elected, Americans are insisting we should ignore the law and allow him to be president anyway. As justification for that, they are citing the will of the people. What if the “will of the people” is to elect Arnold Schwarzenegger as president? How about the head of the U.N.? People cannot ignore the law because you don’t like it. If Congress decides to change the law, that’s fine. They will be accountable to the people who elect them and if the people go along, that’s representative government. Once you allow a “ignore the laws you don’t like” mentality, you get anarchy.

If this election is close, you’ll only have half, or perhaps less than half of the electorate “outraged” over legal technicalities. I would say there would be just as much outrage over a man who refused to settle the matter by providing his birth certificate. I have my birth certificate and would not hesitate to give it to the judge if there were ever a question of my citizenship. If he’s so confident his birth certificate is genuine, he would not hesitate to turn it over. If his certificate is phony, then his character is immediately suspected. Did he knowingly withhold relevant information about his citizenship? I have no doubt most Americans would be upset at a man who ran for an office he knew he wasn’t qualified to hold. This is what scares me!

Polls in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, and North Korea also favor Obama. Coincidence?

A Christian is one that believes JESUS CHRIST is the only way to GOD. Obama has stated there are many ways to God and heaven. This means he is not a Christian by his own words. This will show up on election day no matter what the polls say.

Didn’t you receive my earlier comment about my experience as a CEO of a company for the last 30 years, and the responsibility of making a “Payroll” every week. Obama’s TOTAL LACK OF EXPERIENCE as an Executive (remember, he’s just been an employee his entire life!) And, Joe Biden’s TOTAL LACK OF UNDERSTANDING AT JUST WHAT A VICE-PRESIDENT REALLY DOES!

Obama, with no executive experience whatever, is running as “The First Black Man To Become President” that’s what’s this is all about! Biden’s a liability. Biden does not even know what the Vice-President even does!

Can we save our country from these two wrong-doers!

First and foremost I think it’s important to recognize that most political leaders have had some shady associations in their past. Neither Obama nor McCain are perfect and their quest to become leader of this country has not been perfect. Sure, both of them have put their campaigns above the best interest of this country in some instances but unfortunately in a 2 party political system there aren’t many options. I do not understand how people are repeatedly surprised about this. With that said, I have to say that it makes me sad that Obama’s past relationships have been receiving so much attention since they are relatively easy to explain and really have no bearing on where this country is headed. The focus needs to be on issues such as tax plans, health care, social security, national security, just to name a few. Someone may not agree with me on where I stand on those issues and nothing is wrong with that. It’s what makes this country great. But please, make your decision on which candidate to vote for based on the issues at stake, not based on smear tactics, character assumptions, and guilt by association accusations. It’s just the wrong way to go about things and this is too important of an election to think in those terms.

We wont.

Look at the bright light at the end of the tunnel…

If Obama gets elected and if our country survives him, there’s one thing you can bet on, the democratic party is finished.

The fascists of the Republican Party caused this mess Anna. You people are sounding alot like the folks we fought WWII against.

Got three pieces of mail from the Republican party today. All with Obama’s face on them and smut inside. Who should I be afraid of?

I am surprised that FOX news would not discuss Keating Five since its relevant to the current market crisis. Also to qualify as fair and balanced, I would suggest that FOX look at McCain’s relation with Gordon Liddy.

How about covering the Troopergate in more detail and Todd Palin’s membership in ‘Alaska Independence Party’. Its interesting that Todd Palin’s mother is leaning Obama !!!

This is crazy. As a independent conservatives and the people her including Fox news praise the hell out of Bush. He no dobt is the worst thing to ever happen to this country policy wise and now it is about being afraid. I hear nothing concrete about where the economy is going from John McCain nothing different from Bush. So I am afraid of McCain and sre as hell of Palin my 5 grade daughter has a better grasp on the world affairs from here history class.

Isn’t that like the boogey man saying don’t be afraid of the other boogey man???? I am sick of it being considered an attack or smear campaign. It is fact, the Acorn group, the Ayers, Wright, the list goes on. Obama has not answered anything he doesn’t have to with the media and the crazy uniformed on his side. He is lacking in leadership, experience and just plain integrity. And now of course it is a race issue too. OK EVERYONE OBAMA IS ALSO WHITE as much as he is black. The color of his skin does not make him any more experienced, honest or a better candidate.
