I am retired military, myself and many others served with honor to protect the freedoms we all enjoy as American citizens and help preserve our democratic form of government. Tyranny and socialism is not acceptable as an alternative. However, now we face Senator Obama’s new forms of change, change that will take us down the road to a socialist government. His proposal of change punishes the entrepreneur who has created a business and provided employment to numerous individuals in all classes. He calls it providing a rescue for the middle class and a tax cut for 95% of employed Americans. He is also calling for increasing entitlements for those who choose to live on the income of others. Such as the 40% of Americans who do not pay income tax. I am tired of seeing people, who are capable of working, standing with their hand out expecting, and in some cases, demanding what they do not deserve. We must all remember that socialist revolutionaries have always played on middle and lower class citizens, telling them that their problems are the fault of the wealthy and the big corporations. They promise that they will take the wealth of others and distribute it to the less fortunate. What they do not tell the people is the results of their socialist forms of government. Corporations leave the country and take their wealth and jobs else where. The people now become totally relying on a totalitarian government for the very basic necessities of life.
Please vote for a government that will allow the individual to prosper, because of their own abilities and endeavors, and will not unfairly tax those who succeed. Please preserve the American ideal that if you work hard and are fair to others you will achieve the American dream of success.

I notice when they want to let you get to know Obama they tend to forget to mention all his ties to radicals. If McCain had a list of white supremist as long as Obamas radical list we would all be aking what made the RNC think he was a good candidate. Just curious as to where that got all those people to register considering that 18 million voted for Hillary, 18 million voted for Obam and about 18 million republicans registered to vote. So total that is almost 204 million, That means there are just 96 million kids in America. Go figure, we have too many schools across this country for so few kids so why are they over crowded?

I do believe associations and friendships matter. I’ve lived nearly 60 years and have long standing friends and associates garnered over that period of time. Some are new and some are old. I believe that is how it should be. Some date back as far as high school, some from college, and some thMy question is who are Barack Obama’s associates and friends - the new ones and the old ones? I hear nobama everyday talking about this economy and how we are 2 seconds away from a depression, all day him and his campain are putting the fear of the economy into all of us. this is an important issue but he is trying to play on this issue. When will he speak of illegal immigration which has alot to do with our economy. Open your ears and listen, get your head out of that book and pay attention. And if i remember correctly, nobama and his wife brought up racial issues in the campaign along time ago. Who cares, we want answers on his affiliations and if you do not well, that is your starry eyed, head in the book opionion. If he thinks these affiliations are not important, then i wonder who he will be putting in the white house and what kind of backgrounds he will allow. he is a hypocrit. One last thing. Nobama sent alot of people to alaska to check out sarah palin if there were things he thought you should know i guess he would have told you. Get real. do not believe everything you read. The reason he does not talk about these people is because he did not want you to know… remember he has been running for 2 full years and never spoke of these people.

I click on CNN’s Ticker and it’s a pro-Obama fest. I click on FoxNews and its an anti-Obama, Pro-McCain fest. MSNBC, that’s just Obama TV. So is there any single news source that just reports the news as it happens? Oh well, I have to visit all these websites and take the algebraic average of all points of views to get the plain unflavored news.

It’s a shame you can blame just for a name. It’s sad there’s people out there that can justify their fear of a mans name because it’s not “mainstream”. It’s a shame that Americans can say jobs that get incentives and “now” will not, will leave. You must be retired and have no kids in school or getting your government pensions. I say this because our jobs are already gone, health care is horid, and tuition is astronomical and the job of which you seek must be sought in another country if you want one or one that pays to eat. And as we now see….”Maverick” led the bail out……and wall street is still dropping. As a child of our Lord Jesus Christ, I find it difficult to read the hateful things many of these posts contain. I despair of that we have lost so many souls to hatred and fear. Both Obama and McCain are good men. Obama has been heavily vetted for 20 months, McCain for years. We know these men. They are patriots who love there country, who care about the welfare of this great country. McCain is not a bumbling old fool as depicted by the DNC, and Obama is certainly not a terrorist. Leave your evil thoughts out of this race.

Personally, I was voting for McCain until his choice of Sarah Palin. Her violent and evil-mongering rhetoric since the VP Debate has shown me that she is not clean at heart. Of all the candidates, she has not been vetted. My hope is that she will see that her false words, meant to extract hatred for those inclined to such thoughts, are destructive to the country. Tell me about what you will do to improve this great country. That I want to hear.

How do any of you justify your characterizations of a man you have never met or talked to? Your opinions are based on remarks and advertizements made/purchased by individuals with a vested interest in presenting the most biased opinion possible. Some of you comment on the sad use of “fear tactics”. An honest person would be hard-pressed to say the republican political machine does not fuel their campaign with fear as well. The real question is which party’s fear tactic is dictating your vote?

For myself, I am excited about Obama. I am middle class. I need the help. (And, before anyone makes any assumptions, I work my ass off and am no further ahead for it.) I own my own home. I down-sized and paid off all my prior debts. My home was affordable. My morgage is a 30 yr fixed at 6.5%. My husband was able to quit work and stay home with our first born son. And, in spite of all of these “advantages” and careful planning, my husband has been forced back to work and we are inches from our potential creditors. Last winter, multiple house payments rolled over onto our over-draft protection credit card. I had no choice. It was that or lose our heat… There are no bailouts in my future, because I am responsible enough to barely make it, month after month after month…

The american dream is supposed to be obtainable for those who work for themselves and those who work for others. I should not have to be a business owner to be successful–or get a tax break for that matter. Nor, should I be the one whose back is propping up the wealthy or the unfortunate.

I support Obama. I’m glad he isn’t’ content with the status quo. I agree there is room for improvement. If that makes me part-socialist then so be it. But, I beleive I have the right to prosper. I want a president who understands that being “middle-class” ain’t what it used to be. Heck, I’ll take a president who doesn’t own 7 houses…
