Obama the Underdog?

NASHVILLE - Up in the polls, money, and momentum, Barack Obama is largely considered the current frontrunner in the race for the presidency, 28 days out.

“Obviously we like the position that we’re in, but we understand that we have to battle every day,” David Axelrod told reporters today, adding they don’t get “too intoxicated” by favorable polls.

But Obama has always thrived as the underdog, and today his campaign reclaimed the mantle - at least for tonight’s debate.

“When it comes to sheer format, we enter today’s debate the decided underdog.  John McCain does extremely well in town hall settings. It’s been his favorite format throughout his career and we think that he will of course do very well,” a spokesman said in a memo sent to reporters.

I hope he knocks the socks off Obama. If anyone would care to look at what’s going on… Economy in bad shape, okay, but why, because the Democrats under the Clinton Admin. deregulated banks and financial investment firms. Bush has tried numerous times to get things back on track, but with a Democratic House and Senate, was unable to do so. Why, right before the election does all hell break loose. Too many foreign investors in our markets who support Obama…. I believe they did it on purpose.
Why will they not release any Harvard records on Obama, nothing, nada… Obama says in an interview that we have no right to that information. We absolutely do as Americans have the right to know about you, your past, your everything, so we can make an informed decision… If you deny us the right, I think there’s reason for concern… what are you trying to hide? Why not make yourself an “open book”, let us see who you are, then there’s no reason for doubt. But, we don’t have that opportunity.
WAKE UP AMERICA…

Obama is clearly the underdog when it comes to fair reporting by Fox news. The purpose of a news organization is to report all aspects of an issue and allow the public to form their own ideas. It is clear that the McCain camp is running scared. They are not giving Americans a clear economic plan to resolve the financial mess that has occurred. Instead they continue to use false and unimportant information in regards to Obama. Sarah Palin is a joke and a disgrace to women. She has no clue of what is going on in the world and is definitely not qualified to be vice president and definitely not President. Can we all get back to the real issues facing America: Unemployment, Foreclosures, The War and make both candidates give us a clear agenda of how they will get our beautiful country back on track.

This is probably obvious, but I’ll say it anyway because it needs to be repeated over and over to avoid a group-think result…. We know an underdog has the advantage of low expectations and less pressure… naturally each candidate would prefer to be perceived that way…. Only McCain is the underdog in my view, however, because I think… on average… even good people would like to do all of the following: elect a black person, benefit from the liberal agenda (free health care and ballooning entitlements), reduce their personal responsibility for their own welfare, etc…. Picking John McCain commits the voter to personal accountability and denies the presidency to someone who might be qualified, even though his exhibited experience does not indicate it.

McCain should refrainfrom the personal attack as is back firing and his popularity is diminishing.
He should keek Gov. Palin in a cloak as she is not an advantage but disadvanytage to his compain.

John McCain is increasingly looking an erratic, desperate cranky old man who is completely out of touch with mainstream America. But 7 houses, 10 cars and a rich wife can do that to you. Instead of debating on the issues, McCain looks just pathetic slinging mud.

This is an unusually unbiased story coming FOX. It merely states the facts. Hmmm.

Pls Obama does well when he is answering questions that effect real people instead of playing with stuff like character and patriotic bull***t. Dont understand when will republicans understand that we dont care whether you are gay or born again fundamentalist. as long as you can help an avg joe put food on the table for his kidz and sleep well at night knowing if things go wrong tommorow his country wont leave him out and dry. McCain and his pittbull are going to take it all away from us just like Bush did. Terrorism fro abroad my ass we have terrorists in freedy mac and Leeman bros in our country who cause of their greed and never ending lust for our hard earned money are willing to take us all down with them. so I say to all independants out there think again before casting your vote for a third term for bush and his minions. we have suffered to much for too long!

Underdog? Obama? No way! Underdog was way more honest than Obama. Instead of “Never fear, Underdog is here”, its “Have great fear, Obama is here”. Underdog would recognize a terrorist and not hang out with him. Underdog fought to help others, not try to make himself look good. Underdog would tell the truth about why the economy is in the tank, not lie and point fingers. UNDERDOG RULES! Obama…..

I have seen a lot of articles about race, tending to group white people together as prejudice when it comes to voting for the President in the Fall elections. Could it be that most Amercians do not trust Obama? Maybe it is his radical left wing ultra liberal policies that mirror socialism? Possibly his wrong outline on world affairs? Or his friends like Rezko, Wright, Ayers, and Farrakhan? I think it could be his flip flopping on every major concept/idea to appeal to all voters when he chooses to.

Wow. Setting expectations low as usual when you know you’ll lose, Obama. Nice strategy. Yeah, backpeddling always worked well for me in races too! Smooth.
