Palin Attends Post-Debate Rally

ST. LOUIS –

Sarah Palin roared into her rally here tonight — after her first and only Vice-Presidential debate — aboard the Straight Talk Express that literally drove into the arena. She hopped out flanked by her family: parents Chuck and Sally Heath, Todd, Willow, Piper, and baby Trig and dove into the crowd greeting several thousand supporters at the Chaifetz Arena at St. Louis University.

Palin — clearly buoyed from her debate performance — told the screaming supporters that she was talking for them at tonight’s head to head with Joe Biden, “That was quite the debate we had here tonight and I was so proud St. Louis I felt like I was speaking for you and I was so proud to make the case-so proud to make the case for the next President of the United States John McCain.”

She complimented Biden and called her rival a “skilled debater,” but pointed out some of the differences between the two that she focused on at tonight’s debate, “He did his very, very best to convince all of us that two of the most liberal members of the Senate belong in the White House, but that was a tough sell and especially in this time of crisis in our country that would have been a tough sell.”

When some protesters briefly interrupted the rally, the Alaska governor said she has spoken to her son Track who is deployed in Iraq and that he was “fighting for our freedoms” and that she will continue to “keep on protecting those freedoms.”

Like in tonight’s debate, she quoted Ronald Reagan to make the point that freedom must be protected or there will be consequences, “It was Ronald Reagan who said that freedom is only one generation away from extinction. We do not pass it on to our children through the bloodstream,” Palin said, “Freedoms must be fought for and protected and then we hand it to them to do the same and if we don’t do that then we are going to spend our sunset years explaining to our children and our children’s children what it was like back in the day in America where men and women were once free.”

At the end of her speech she dove back into the rope line as the Rocky theme played –- even though the highly anticipated slug fest is over.

We do not need an elitist intellectual to be our Vice President. We do need someone who can balance a checkbook, understand why we have budgets, ability to read an audit and can leave the bs dialog when communicating with the people who are working for the money that pays the bills.
I need the opposite of what we have now, congress people who congratulate a person on the other side of the isle well introducing a bill to commemorate some one or something well the country is in an energy crisis. An energy crisis is when it is more economical feasible for a father to stay at home and collect unemployment, food stamps, and medicare health benefits than to pay for the gas to get to work. We pay congress people at least $160,000 a year to figure out how our economy works and to build laws and policy that work for the regular people; they have proven they cannot do it. It is about what law someone voted for that had so much other stuff loaded on to it that the question about why he voted for the bill has nothing to do with the main topic of the bill.
Do we need another political robot or a person who can still understand what the truth is? I think Sara Palin can still hear the plain truth when she sees it. She can understand that a law made in Washington DC can look different in the homes and business of regular joe six pack.

Doesn’t sound like Palin is celebrating much today. $700 Billion dollars says the McCain campaign will keep her well hidden over the next few weeks.

Sarah Palin did an excellent job in the VP debate tonight. It was clear that Sen. Biden was trying to link Mccain to the Bush’s policies, but he offered no vision for America. Yet he claimed to be an agent of change for America. It seems like a lip service to the people of this country. Sarah Palin and Mccain are the team that America needs in the White House at this difficult time. I hope Americans won;t get fooled by the Obama’s political machine: Biden. Vote Palin & Mccain!

In just few hours of the debate, I am coming across conservative websites with hyper excitement. There will be a shift in polls. No matter the outcome of this election, Sarah Palin is a new star in the conservative movement.

Biden… 26 years if his advise…. 700 billion dollar bailout

Obama…. Higher Taxes….. Loss of the war…. Less Jobs

McCain…..Bad Health care plans…… Tax Cuts for the rich

Sarah Palin…. Price less

I say take McCain, Obama and Biden off the ticket and let Palin be President, those guys did there damage to the US. It would be nice to have a new set of fresh eyes on our problems. After this bail out plan, it seems to me none of them got it right.

PALIN FOR PRESIDENT not Vice

She’s pretty and she’s perky and she said a lot of nothing brilliantly. How has the Republican Party been co-opted by speakerine’s with nice bottoms and fanatically inflated confidence in their vapid sound bites? Yuck!

Palin did indeed do better than expected, but the bar was so low for her it would have been hard not to. It’s good that Alaskans and the republicans like her folksy tone, but the rest of the country doesn’t do folksy. She and McCain are still , however, only four more years of the Bush disaster. Thanks, but no thanks.

How great it was today to see Gov Palin knock the ball out of the ball park! The edited snippet of Katie Couric interview say more about Couric than the V. p. Gov. Take note America, we had elections last NOvember with the same main media bias as I watch regularly in your country, The LEFT are in power, behaving as only the left can behave, the blame game etc etc. Be very careful about what you believe you want, you just may get it. Go McCain /Palin ticket, Best Regards Natalie Woodley. Melbourne Australia.

I thought Sarah Pailn did a truly awesome job speaking directly to the citizens of the United States. I was very proud of her and her performance and I believe that this vice-presidential debate may be the only one in vice-presidential debate history to have any real effect of the outcome of the election.

Joe Biden was professional, polite, and committed no serious gaffes. However, he did not sell much to the American people and certainly did not outsell Sarah Palin.

Palin wins!

I’m jealous of St. Louis. I would of loved to attend such a fine debate. I saw her in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and she was fabulous. McCain-Palin 08.

Comment by Gregg

She was incredible, sincere and a masterful debater herself. No doubt she knows her stuff and smooth in every way! McCain made the right choice! She will matter in the polls, just wait and see. Biden is old, Washington Senate politico that just won’t quit even when he was beaten out cleary! Palin’s got my vote and so will the rest of Americans. She’s got gravitas!

Comment by Doris Burgess

I watched the debate and thought Sarah Palin hit a “home run right out of the park”!!!! She was absolutely fabulous! Her comments were factual and showed how much she really knows about the economy, energy and foreign policy. The debate was respectful on both sides. However, after the debate, I listened to some of the liberal media still attacking her. CNN and CBS are so in the tank for Obama that their bias is disgusting.

Comment by JPR 45

I am tired of the Media only showing there liberal side of things…They never give credit to the Repblicans…The GOP is alwyas on an uphill battle in any election in the last 20 years. Wake up MEDIA who do you reort to and for the American People or the Democratic Party. Give the Gov Palin some credit. She was excellent in her debate. This debate was more important to Americans than the Media is saying. The tickets are balanced as far as expeirence and age goes. How ever the GOP has shown the most change with the new voice of Gov. Palin a real Washington Outsider with her I do not see it as the same old stuff.

Sarah connected with “we the people” of the United States who are sick and tired of Government as Usual…. why should we let the Government decide personal choices in our lives? Haven’t we given up enough of our freedoms?

Being “present” isn’t enough when it comes to being President, Obama. We need a strong decision maker and one who will act in difficult times, putting the country first!

National Defense is STILL a huge concern and I will feel much more comfortable with John McCain at the helm!

It’s funny that on CNN. com they say Biden won “hands down” but Foxnews.com show Palin winning hands down; their text messages last night over one million people texted and 84% were for Palin - funny how CNN is also Pro Obama. Palin talked in terms I could understand because I am a regular person not really interested in politics and “political jargon” so althought Biden knows his stuff and he is ready to be president should that be the case - I didn’t understand half of what he said plus he went on tangents way too long and he seemed to get the last word alot. Sarah is qualified to be VP and if they win she will get more experience walking the walk. As for the moderator that we were all so worried about, she did great. I didn’t see any favoritism at all and I was one of the biggest skeptics. Hands down to Ifill.

Governor Palin did well considering the very low expectations coming into this debate. For the intellectuals or critical thinkers, we know she is not qualified for the position she seeks. I’m sure, however, she didn’t disappoint those who see her as a contestant in a beauty contest and she performed a magic trick which amazed even conservative pundits. My hat off to Joe Biden for being a gentleman becuase he could have sunk her and he didn’t. Well done Joe.

The old axiom is true, “be who you is, cause if you ain’t who you is, you is who you ain’t.” I felt Sarah Palin is who she is, real, I think the country would be in great hands if she were president. Her faith, her wit, her conviction on life’s challenges is clear from war to peacetime her main street logic brings clarity to the complex. dmh

I was in attendance at the rally last night where Palin supporters watched the debate and afterward Sarah Palin drove into the arena for a rally with her family. If you could have heard the cheers during the debate in the auditorium it was CLEAR she won the debate. She hit all the important issues today out of the park. She is the real thing that represents every average family in this country. We truly need someone like her to bring reality to Washington. “GO HOCKEY MOM” keep fighting for US the people!!!! Hooray For Sarah Palin!! I knew that she would come out of this victorious!
After the debate, the left, Colmes and his cronies were hard pressed to come up with criticizm towards Palin. The only things they kept repeating were that she her answers were “rehearsed.”
Just what do they think Obama’s answers were, if not “rehearsed”???? I sure didn’t hear any comments from the left on that part. They were all gushing on how “presidential” he looked. I thought he looked young, petulant and immature. McCain looked more “presidential” without even trying because he wasn’t on his “game” that night. He was distracted by the chaotic economic agreement in congress.

The left say Joe Biden won on substance. Of course he did!! I expected him to. After all, he’s been in Washington for 30+ years. Sarah Palin could no more win this debate with Biden than Obama could win the debate with McCain. Sarah Palin’s role in this debate was exactly as Obama’s, only to prove to the Amereican people that she is aware of the problems facing this nation and that she will have their best interest in mind. Only, she meant it and Obama did not. Obama’s problem is that he does not know enough about anything. He only repeats what he’s coached to do. That’s a problem because he’s running for president and should go into the White House not only with vast knowledge but experience, as well. He cannot use this position as “on the job training.”

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, as V.P. has time to learn and learn well she will. How often do you see Dick Chaney or any other V.P. on TV? It’s all about the president. Sara Palin will make the best V.P. we’ve ever had because she is genuine, down to earth, and she really cares. She has the hame problems we do. Remember, she is middle calss just like us. She’s not rich, pretending to be middle class like Obama and Biden. If Obama loves his “middle calss roots” so much, how come he couldn’t wait to pen, not one, but two books about himself in order to make millions. Sarah Palin proves that you don’t have to be rich to run for office and win. And that, my friends, gives me hope for the future of America.

Comment by Aline

Sarah is such a breath fresh. I think the people that do so love this country are yeaning for someone that is really in touch with us, someone that will not promise us that they will feed and wipe us for our entire lives, someone that does have respect for those of us that do love our God, our guns and our way of life.

Please don’t forget how many times Biden gave the wrong info about he, Obama’s and McCain’s votes and other actions of he and Obama’s. Sarah pronounced a name wrong but was correct about what he said and she did have the level of troops off by about 3000.
Thank you,

Comment by Robin

YES ! she is right about how energy and low taxes will restore the economy . Mostly she is right about the crucible of character , where it is born ,and how it matures . People are wrong of character to promise to be their provider and hope . There is only one provider and source of hope . She is correct on all accounts .

Joe Biden answered the questions from intellect and Sarah Palin answered the question from about 6 memorized paragraphs, which included, Israel, Iraq, the economy, Afganistan and Pakistan, energy and her mud-slinging. That is what they prepared her with – it didn’t matter what Gwen Ifill asked - these 6 things were her responses. The people including journalist who are saying that she did good are people with the same mentality as Palin who couldn’t see the big picture. I thank God everyday that he blessed me with a little intelligence.

I am proud of Sarah Palin. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for what you believe in, especially when you are being victimized by the press. The press has gone for the jugular because they are intimidated by an honest, God fearing, middle class woman that has nothing to hide! We should be voting in leaders that have our best interest at heart. Sarah truly understands what it is like to earn a living and raise a family in middle class America. Thanks Sarah!

Palin won.

Biden tried to impress with a flood of facts (at least 10 were wrong, as FOX pointed out) but he came off as boorish and boring.

Palin came across as fresh, full of energy, likable and sincerely interested in helping the American people. I do wish McCain would address the health care issue differently (his stance is grossly inadequate), but Palin is not responsible for that.

Biden makes me sick everytime he starts up with the Scranton thing. He spends most of his time in Home Depot? Is he getting paid by them for free advertising? I thought he was getting paid to be a senator??

Palin is honest, Biden is a player. Palin was right to point out that Biden first said Obama is not experienced enough and then changed his tune when he got the chance to run as VP. Then Obama is ok.

wish Palin had mentioned the fact that Obama never takes a stand. Except of course on ultra-left issues like the born alive infant protection act that even most senators, regardless of party, could not support.

MCCAIN/PALIN 08!

I sat on the edge of my seat awaiting the debate. I was amazed at Sarah Palin’s ability to handle each and every question. Those she did not want to respond to, she didn’t. I believe that was a smart move on her part. I believe Joe Biden was very much a gentleman during the debate.
This debate should put the major stations, ABC, CBS and NBC in their liberal place. She was
forthright, charming and most of all intune with the middle class.

I found her to be quick to respond at every step as well as knowledgeable. I couldn’t be prouder of her and of being a republican at this time.

Crack went the ceiling. Then she busted through it…..
Hillary must be sitting in her house having a drink and telling Bill get ready for 2012. We all know they really do not want O-no-Bama to win.

For all of you saying she is an idiot.. OH please. Biden is a 35 year ….I will say it again 35 year… senator. She held her own with a polished orator oh wait that’s a big word for you O-no-Bama folks. It means debater. She knocked him down and put a stiletto up his behind. Lol

How many of you could do that? After 5 weeks on the national scene…I will wager my “small town house you could not!

I have seen the houses in his neighborhood I would get arrested asking for directions. For him to know my pain…forget it he has not known our pain in 35 years.

Did any one catch the fact that he said he would be in O-no-Bama’s office making every decision with him? That is one heck of a vote of confidence. It is like he said I must hold his hand because he does not know what he is doing….

“Say it ain’t so Joe…” you’re an idiot…. Let me say that again….your an idiot…….

If brother McCain doesn’t win God forbid it won’t be because of her. Darn tootin….

An Absolutely great job was accomplished by Gov. Palin. Joe Biden failed and was baffled with her truths about him. Governor, we thank you for your honesty. Joe Biden is a scary choice to be advising Obama-nation let alone blundering his way around as President with foreign leaders should something happen to Obama-nation.
Gov. Palin, we would rather have you as President than Obama-nation or Biden should something happen to Senator McCain. You have proved your ready Governor.

Palin–give us a break. I hated every minute of your over-acted, over-rehearsed lines and the winking, just stop it–it makes my skin crawl. Do you honestly think you can run a country by trying to steal Reagan’s lines and by dodging every question? Sooner or later the cuteness catches up with you and you have to graduate from junior high and be serious minded in high school. You are in over your head and I believe there is something psychiatric wrong with you–like a narcissistic bi-polar borderline personality disorder. Go back to Alaska and try driving over the Bridge to Nowhere, then ask your puppy of a husband to get you some psychiatric help. This is a serious contest for serious, healthy minded candidates, stop serving us buffalo burgers–oh sorry moose burgers.

If Palin’s performance in the Vice Presidential debate on Thursday “excites” and “invigorates” the Republican Party, then that is a stark indication that the GOP are running on mediocrity. After Palin’s “freedom”, they truly need to be better than that by far. A McCain/Palin team is not on the same level as Obama/Biden. Of the four politicians, Obama is the best on the Economy and Biden is the best in Foreign Affairs. We only know about some kind of “experience” or the other from the McCain camp, but that is not convincing enough. The Polls never lie.

The founders did not want people to make careers out of the government they wanted movement in the electorate. I am glad that palin and McCain are not lawyers and they come from the people. Palin is not like “us”. She has a 500k waterfront cutom built home; a piper airplane; 2 jet skis and 2 boats and other pieces of land. yeah, sheis like middle America.

Palin did not answer the questions last night. She gave off sound bites. Go on, replay it and LISTEN. Palin avoided answering the questions ad said as much. Also, as a grown woman, she acted like a teenager, flirting, winking, please show some seriousness for the situation. After all, people are losing their homes.

As for the Couric interview, once again wake up people. Palin supported the exxon case where her state was awarded billions in punitive damages. Guess what, depite Palin’s rallies, the Supreme Court took that award away and she could not remember it???? What does she read–”everythin”. Well, since Palin said i did not go abroad, I got my info from reading, this was a fair question she could not answer.

That woman did not answer the questions last night. Palin believes–no abortion–even if your daughter is raped by her uncle!!! Palin believe it wouldbe illegal to abort the child.

Palin is against stem cell research. So much for being there for the special needs kids.

Palin took the money from the Bridge to Nowhere. She supported it and now claims she did not. Is America that blind or deaf?

If this country were to be attacked once again, God forbid and she POTUS because something happened to McCain, what will she say to America, “Ill get back ta ya.”

We as Americans should demand more. We need a person who is smarter than Joe Sixpack and who at least has intellectual curiosity.

It’s getting deep in here!!

As a woman, I would love to see a woman as VP or even Pres……. but not Palin. She is talented at stage presence, charm and the ability to replace true substance and knowledge with cutsie remarks and behavior. I’m not saying she’s without wit or lacking brains or that she’s not an accomplished woman in her home town and in Alaska, she’s got her positives. However, dodging questions, dancing around issues, filling in the empty blanks with “cuteness” and blah blah blah gibberish, reading off your notes and delivering practiced and memorized phrases and quotes……. is less than what this country needs and deserves.
