Obama Buys Flowers for his Wife, Talks Bailout
GLENSIDE, PA - Following his rally in southeastern PA, Barack Obama dropped by a local flower shop on his way back to Chicago, where tonight he’ll spend his 16th wedding anniversary with his wife, Michelle.
As Obama shelled out $47.70 for a dozen white roses, he was questioned by reporters on the successful vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on the bailout bill. Just hours earlier, the Democratic nominee urged politicians, “For the sake of our families, our economy, and our country, we need to step up to the plate and pass this plan.”
Standing at the counter of Penny’s Flower Shop, Obama said he wasn’t planning on doing an avail, but that he was “glad to see we finally got this dealt with.” He stressed going forward that taxpayers be protected and that homeowners are benefited and cautioned that this is the beginning of fixing our economy - not the end of the process.
“The fundamentals of the economy aren’t sound and we’re going to have to do a lot of work moving forward. So if we can stop the bleeding with this package, implement it effectively, and then move forward to deal with the broader problems on Main Street, then hopefully we can get our economy back on track,” he explained.
As the visible head of his Party right now, Obama also played a hand at helping to secure more votes for the bill, explaining that he held a conference call with Democrats who had initially voted no on the bailout earlier this week to urge them to reconsider, that the $700 billion would, in fact, help Main Street as well as large banks.
“They also I think wanted to hear from me, as potentially the next president who’s going to be implementing some of these policies after January 20th, and wanted some assurance that in fact—on the foreclosure provisions, preventing foreclosure, on assuring that homeowners are helped and that taxpayers are getting their money back— that I felt comfortable that this would not prevent me from being able to do those important tasks,” he said.
With that the man who may potentially be the next president turned and said, “Alright, where are my flowers at?”

Obama and Biden keep using the “Fundamentals” word and “McCain and Bush” terminology and it’s getting old. The fundamentals of the citizen’s in this country in regards to hard efforts to work etc. are fundamentally sound, it’s Obama’s lack of reality that it’s the politicians, wall streat and other preditors within these area that are pulling this country down–it’s the people in power that should be looking out to nourish and admonish the sound fundamentals of the people. The foundamentals of the politicians and powers that be is what not is sound–people continue to work and survive all odds that you all put us under because you are not where you should be.
Obama and Rezko (to say the least)–this is not fundamentally sound in relationship and business. Please, a purchase of a home for $300,000.00 below market value–give me a break and put this Fundamentally sound and McCain/Bush nonsense aside–we know what’s really going on. It is still beyond me how Obama is getting away with all that he is but the Truth will be known in time.

Obama is a good man who loves his wife. I wish I could say the same about dirty John who ditched his wife who waited faithfully for him for 5 years when he was a POW. She had gotten in a car accident and gained weight, so even though she was a former swimsuit model she was no longer hot enough for dirty John who then promptly started having numerous affairs, including one with heiress Cindy who was only in her early 20s at the time. He is so disgusting that I just laugh when Republicans tell me they’re going to vote for John McCain because of his good “morals”. Just keep telling yourself that, maybe you’ll eventually believe it.
The guy (Obama) is a quick learner, he immediately adopted Hillary policies and statements and now very quickly adopts McCain’s. He originally did nothing– campaign first country last!

I am independent and I am not sure who I am voting for.I like getting my info from different news channals and fox is not one of them because fox news is always saying good things about The republican party and fox always digging dirt about the democrat and it is not what I am looking for.so try to cover both side in fair way.

I’ll be interested to see how this 400 plus page bailout will help the beloved middle America. The banks will still hold on to their money, taking over little banks and companies with assets, the poorest will still keep their homes (according to congress people Obama twisted the arms of this week) and the dwindling group of taxpayers will pay for all of it. And when Obama gets in with his new presidential seal, everyone will start demanding things the government has no equity to provide. I’d like at least one of our candidates to be for all Americans, not just this middle business. There will be no middle when Obama is done.

McCain also called a lot of Republican Senators and some Democratic ones to get help on the bill. Obama wants to take the credit which is fine, I think they were both wrong. I say we should have let the chips fall where they may. I just don’t see it helping that much and it sets a bad precedence.
After the pathetic mental appearance of Gov. Palin in yesterday’s debate–if citizens don’t get the message of how bad this country needs Barack Obama for president it is just not understandable how people think. This whole economic crisis shows me how we need to stop hating government and expect the members of government to do their jobs–just as my boss expects this of me. People must pay attention–with the internet available–this is something to do regularly–must read our newspapers and expect more objective detail from them. National news is entertainment–no substance.All John McCain wants to be is commander and chief, no idea for the presidency. He just wants to be the “man in charge ” to start the wars.I honestly after watching his behavior this past week and the debate–I think their is strong suspect for his mental stability. Senator Obama is a highly educated man with a great command of the English language. That would include syntax, pronunciation and grammar. Additionally, his thought processes are unimpaired and he expresses himself with coherence and clarity.
Clearly, he was kidding. The man knows how to speak.
Why is it that when Palin does her folksy thing (and mangles the English language AND is totally incoherent on all manner of issues) you do not take exception with that?
While I disagree with the content, Senator McCain at least rates above Palin in his ability to express himself.
