McCain: Palin will “deliver some news” tonight

DENVER, CO — McCain touted his runningmate’s credentials and said Democrats should brace for her message at tonight’s debate at his ongoing women’s town hall meeting just now.

“Governor Sarah Palin is going to have a little debate tonight,” he said. “(She) is going to deliver some news to the big spending, smooth talking, me first, country second crowd in Washington and Wall Street and that is that change is coming, change is coming and some of them aren’t going to like it…and I can’t tell you how proud I am of her and the inspiration that she has provided to young women and men and every American.”

Does that mean that McCain thinks Obama is going to win? “Change is coming” sounds an awful lot like what Obama promises.

Wait a sec, let’s look at this statement:

“(She) is going to deliver some news to the big spending, smooth talking, me first, country second crowd in Washington and Wall Street and that is that change is coming, change is coming and some of them aren’t going to like it…and I can’t tell you how proud I am of her and the inspiration that she has provided to young women and men and every American.”

Big Spending - McCain hasn’t been small on spending exactly. In his time in the Senate how has he drastically convinced other senators to cut spending? In the past 8 years, we’ve had more spending than ever. The Pro-War stance he seems to have encourages spending more. No matter what he says, he’s been pretty much on the side of Bush for the past 8 years, which hasn’t helped spending one bit.

Smooth Talking- I guess the “Straight Talk” isn’t the same as “Smooth Talk”. In watching McCain and Palin I’ve seen them try to answer questions with completely different answers than actually answered the question. To me that’s smooth talking. Maybe actually being able to form English sentences or coherent thoughts is smooth talking or too much for him.

Me first, country second- McCain’s new tactic of trying to show himself and Palin as the saviors of Washington is a joke. After he blew off Letterman to “rush back” and yet ends up staying in NYC and doing other interviews… he totally lost that line for me.

Change is coming - What change has McCain actually made in the Senate? I mean he’s had a bit of time there I’ll admit, but is he effective? I love Ron Paul, but he’s not exactly effective either. Neither create massive change. As far as I’ve seen in fact almost no senator has been effective at creating change. Palin likely thinks that the Vice President lives in the White House too or something, as she barely knows Washington.

“inspiration that she has provided to young women and men and every American.” - She’s been the inspiration for a lot of jokes, but that’s about it. As a young person, what does she inspire me to do? Work for earmarks? Lie? Have a knocked up 17 year old daughter, or a son that’s shipping off to an unjust war? To not be able to name a single newspaper or even a federal decision that you disagree with? To be able to dodge questions? Inspiring to hide from the media? I don’t frankly get it.

News? Whatever. Obama’s been saying that…funny how Republicans can’t be creative enough to announce their vision, they have to steal their opponents.

Weak!

The only news worthy story would be for her to step down. I think she should stay. I have always said she was a gift to the Democrats.

The American people are missing the point about what will fix our economy. Governor Sarah Palin knows. It is dependable, inexpensive energy sources developed at home. No one will purchase new vehicles if you can not afford the energy source to go anywhere. This is the third recession that I have lived through that is the direct result of the price and availability of energy. Our do nothing congress is banking on the naïve voters to be side tracked by the Wall Street/housing fiasco. The liberal Democrats will not dill for oil, develop alternate energy, allow clean coal and natural gas. You should ask yourself, “Why are the liberals trying to destroy our culture from within”?

Senators and Representatives are going to fall. Palin will reveal “The Ark of Truth”

Palin is the exact opposite of what they would like us to believe. She is abig spender, noney waster. She uses lobbiests probably more than any other Governor and use Ted Stevens son to go after ear-marks. Pitiful

Comment by Stacy

As I said before to the haters……..Sarah is awesome and do not ever underestimate her. She will shine and McCain will win the Presidency.

This is the :E” ticket folks…..and Nobama can shove his arrogant, narcisstic face up Joey’s arm pit.

BRING IT ON you nasty, socialist, morally absent freaks.

Comment by DD1

She will put lots of holes in the O! campaign she is the best debater in the country.

Comment by Tom

The one thing Sarah Palin stands for is reform. Reform is most needed in Washington right now. While Barack stands for hope of another government program, the McCain Palin ticket stands for reform of the current system. Let’s hope Joe proves to be himself tonight and declares the more you pay in taxes the more patriotic you are…we can only hope. :-)

Please put on your website where we can e-mail NPR and protest this most partisan manipulative deception of moderating the VP debate with one of their own. Why can’t we unite against these tactics? Obama’s campaign has also written threatening letters to media outlets exposing Obama’s liberal gun ban on honest Americans.

Comment by VICKI

WoW! Sounds exciting! Can’t wait to hear the news.

Comment by Bill A

I hope her big news tonight that she’s withdrawing from the race….Just like McCain pulling out of Michican….

Comment by Bertie

Biden may have a high IQ but like my mom use to say, “sometimes you can be so intelligent that you don’t have sense to cross the street”. Like NPR commentator said…basely it went something like this… “Biden has to try, at this debate, to not to act like he knows he is the smartest one in the room.” Well, we do not need arrogance, in my opinion. We need real results. I am for Palin.

Comment by Luis

The only change that’s coming is the Republican thugs are leaving the White House. Fox News will have 4 years of tantrums! I just can’t wait!

GO SARAH FROM THE SIX PAC FROM SANT ROSA, FL. WE ARE SOOOOO PROUD of YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by Marcia Eberhardt

Sarah Palin is just exactly who we need as our VP. She and McCain are the ONLY ones that are looking out for our country. Sarah Palin is outspoken and knows her stuff. If you don’t want to lose all those guns in your gun cabinet, and the second ammendment–you better be voting for the McCain-Palin ticket.

Comment by H Lawless

Joe Biden borders on absolute ignorance, and total rudeness in his responses to the governor, I’m not sure exactly what he believes as opposed to Barack Obama believes, he’s so defensive in this instance that the issues of who he supports are becoming sqewed and what he really feels he believes to be the truth. He is condescending, and as she states, doesn’t want a “healthy” debate about things that affect the average working class family!

Comment by Julie S.

Very impressed by Sarah Palin tonight. She can hold her own just fine thank you and be gracious about it too. Why is Biden so mean?

Not only did Sarah eat his lunch, she took his milk money to! Sarah, you rock!

Comment by Thoris Szczerba

Sarah Palin is real, what she says she means and she will do what she says to the best of her ability and opportunity. She answers to a Higher Power and will not go back on her word. She is not intimidated and she is not looking for any ones approval. As Joel Rosenburg says she sees through the third eye of Scripture. She is strong, able and intelligent. She will be an awesome vice president. Bless Sarah Palin and John McCain.
