McCain supporter to press: “Shame on you”

SCRANTON, PA — While most McCain town hall attendees traditionally direct their questions or commentary towards the GOP nominee during the campaign events as the press take notes, one audience member decided to take her message directly to the media today.

After praising his choice of Sarah Palin as a runningmate, one female audience member turned around towards the press seated in the back of the room and went on a diatribe about what she feels is biased coverage.

“I also want to take the opportunity to ask the media, where is your 30 investigators over in Chicago looking at (Tony Rezko and William Ayers)?,” she said to cheers. “We want the media to start doing their job and stop pickin’ on little children because of their age and their pregnancies. Shame on you! Shame on all of ya’s!”

McCain smiled as the women delivered the rebuke to the press corps, adding “That is a great question!”

He also assured the audience that Palin is able to handle the scrutiny.

“One thing I want to assure you of is that Gov Palin, she can take it. She can take it. That’s what I want to assure you of,” he added.

YES!!!!!! Way to go, lady!

The liberal owned media needs to be hoisted by its own petard and exposed as the biased agenda-driven waste of airspace that it is.

The real Americans need to speak out against the celebrity pundits and the primadonna newscasters and tell them to go back to the holes they crawled out of. Lindsay Lohan, Sandra Bernhard, Matt Damon, Olbermann, Matthews, Gibson, et al DO NOT SPEAK FOR US. They’re so much in love with themselves in their fantasy worlds that they can’t help but open their mouths and spew their internalized garbage. Every single one of them is for sale to the highest bidder and have absolutely no personal or professional integrity.

The real Americans are chasing press corps back to their busses they way they did in Wisconsin and the way this woman did at the Scranton Townhall Meeting. The real Americans are cancelling their subscriptions to US and Oprah magazines and turning them covers to the wall at checkout stands in supermarkets and pharmacies across America.

So, when US loses 10,000 subscribers and Oprah fans start turning the channels, they’ve got no one to blame but themselves.

There are quite a few people in America who are obviously upset with the Press’ attacks on Sarah Palin. The backlash will result in more votes for McCain/Palin and less for the candidate idolized and idealized by the Mainstream Media - and the ‘Emmy’ gang.
We’ve gone through 8 years of being urged to hate President Bush and we thought it would be over since Bush is not running - but the forces of hate merely changed their target to Sarah Palin.
Maybe we’re just tired of being told to hate someone as if this is a bad re-run of 1984.

Comment by Eric B

And what they failed to mention here was that as the woman was yelling at the press thay all stodd there with their fingers in their ears saying in unison “LA LA LA LA LA LA we cannot hear you LA LA LA LA LA”. Good for her anyways.

Myself, my wife and grandson Otis were in the Scranton hall. The place was packed and everyone supported both the Irish and McCain’s view for America. Joe Liberman, Senator Spector, Senator Graham plus AOL President were all there supporting Mc Cain. The women was the second question who rocked the house when she was finished. She pointed her finger right at the DBM and told them to go to Chicago and do the same investigation.
Can you say “President John Mc Cain.
Scranton rocked today. Even our local AM talk show jock, Corbett, had his best suit on.

If she “can take it” then WHY, oh WHY won’t they let her answer questions?

Comment by Scott

Yes, I’d also like to know where the media is on Troopergate in Alaska. And why no one in the mainstream media is covering that McCain’s chief of Staff, Mark Buse, is openly gay and is personal friends of John McCain for over 20 years. Congrats to McCain for having an openly gay individual in such a high position on his staff. If only he wouldn’t discriminate against him.

Yeah send your investigators to Chicago and put it on the news - what are you all so affraid of in the media - that we might see Obama for who he really is - shameful is right - - - media is Obama biased!

Who ever you are beautiful & brave woman… I sure think that you are wonderful… and I couldn’t agree more! Thank you very much for speaking for all of us who share your feelings!

Comment by J.D. Maggard

There is quite a bit of partisan politics not being reported of Sen. Obama’s Illinois voting record & his association with Bill Ayers. But i guess when your network NBC has been renamed the “National Barack Channel” you should have the home court advantage & not be questioned about your political voting record since your career began.

Comment by GLC

Will someone please have the GOP stop sending in their “ringers” to asks loaded comments like this one. Additionally, there was a lady who asked Palin about her experience and was told she could play “stump the canidate”….she never did get an answer to her question only double talking from her and then McCain trying to clean up…..I’m sorry she said playing basketball helped prepare her for challenges in the world. I Republican and i say …..ENOUGH, too

Comment by Cheryl R McNeal

I like Sarah Palin, I liked Hillary Clinton, I am Reagan democrat.. I would have voted for Hillary if she had won. I am voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin because I just like them both. I have to like the person to vote for them. I just don’t like Barack Obama. I never have like him, the first time I saw him in a debate I wondered if he had a twin he can’t seem to talk correctly. He uh, sighing, and looks down a lot. Never really giving anyone a look into who he is. Chris Matthews has spit running out of his mouth when he is talking about Obama. Keith Obermann if you don’t agree with him about Obama he is really rude and very opinionated, this is when i change the channel.

Comment by IBBigPoppa

Ok.. Just so we’re clear. That has been done, otherwise how would you know about Tony Rezko and William Ayers, or about the paper that Michelle Obama wrote while in college, or about the Rev Wright scandal. The media has been all thru this man and his family’s life for the last 19 months (which is approximately 575 days). And Gov. Palin will be scrutinized for all of 14+ days? If they (McCain and Palin) are crying foul already, maybe she can’t take it..

All I can say is thank goodness for Fox News. I have no affiliation to either political party, but am absolutely appalled by the coverage of the other news organizations. I have no problem with commentary disagreeing with Sarah Palin on the issues, and even taking Sarah Palin to task on various issues — indeed I applaud that quality of journalism — but to engage in the ongoing smear campaign against Sarah Palin, as a tacit mission of these journalists, is downright vicious, autrocious, and ugly. It is absolutely appalling and b-rate journalism. Shame on you. I’ve lost all respect for ABC/CNBC et. al and will not support these news organizations.

Thank you Fox News for your balanced coverage.

Is this a real discussion site or is it hype like all of the other news media?

Don’t forget Rev Wright who is, in the words of Bobama, “”a legitimate political issue”.

Another vote for McCain/Palin.

Was the questioner Steve Schmidt in drag? It was good campaign work to have a planted question just as the campaign was making this there new point of attack. Too bad no one (other than those already deep in the McPalin tank) is going to buy this sad attempt to distract attention from the real issues.

Comment by Patricia Pelnarsh

It’s nice that Mr. Obama talks about being conservative and that he is up in Wisconsin worrying about the mills closing, but what about his own state. The State of Illinois that he is “suppose” to represent. 6500 hundred families are are about to loose there jobs because of our fine DEMOCRATIC GOV. GOV. B. wants to close state parks and one of the largest Federal Prisions in Illinois. Mr. Obama has never oncer mentioned that on national television or came down to any of the meeting to butt heads with our fine Democratic Gov. to fight for ” his own people of Illinois. Pontiac Illinois is already a ” repressed area, if we loose the prison, the town will become a ghost town. People will be out of jobs and that will further trickle into our democraticly destructed economy. All he preaches about is how the Bush Administration has destroyed our economy, but when in fact, the economy was destroyed back when Clinton was in office and the affects of that are just coming out. Look at the House of Representatives, they are sitting on energy bills just to save face, They didn’t talk about drilling for oil until Palin was elected. How many times has President Bush or the Republican Representatives asked for assistants with Oil and energy reform. Yet they continue to wait to see if Obama is elected, so that he can take care of things. Why should we suffer…

Don’t vote for Obama !!!!!!!!!!

Vote for McCain/Palin

Why dont you guys question fox bias ?

Comment by steve

I know Fox won’t post this but -
Please, Obama has never gone after Palin’s family, he specifically said they are off limits. McCain never opened his mouth when the press was going after Obama’s wife, and Obama never cried about it either.

The press is investigating Palin (I hope), because no one knows who she is. Great, see can see Russia, but anything else? She won’t talk frankly with the press so how in the world are people supposed to find out what she stands for?

“One thing I want to assure you of is that Gov Palin, she can take it. She can take it. That’s what I want to assure you of,” he added.
No she can’t because anytime someone asks a question of her, she claims sexism or some other excuse. Stop whining and discuss the issued for the sake of the country. Country first, my butt. Me first, country - who cares….

Comment by june trinidad

I say Bravo, Kudos and it is about time someone asked that question to the media.

Comment by Raven

Thanks mister McCain, you are a man among men. yes S. Palin can take care of her self, But Obama needs the help of the press. He (obama) has only words to give and nothing to show for his servise to this GREAT land we call home. once you could read a paper and find news, now the the press seem to want to make news no report it.
Thanks Foxs for standing in the middle and doing your job. America needs reporters, no news makers.

Comment by Claudia

Why is it that there is no mention of Obama’s cocaine and marijuana use in the media? No one that I have talked to about this has ever heard that he used drugs. Yet he has written a book. So what if it was a “youthful indiscretion.” The media has been pounding Palin for her daughter’s pregnancy. How is that different.

Ask the actor on the raised any money for the writers that that made them famous? They are so caring for the small guys but not even caring about those that should mean the most to them. I use the have some actors that I cared for, but now with TMZ and seeing what they are doing in the elections, they too should be protested.

Well said!!!! I agree! I’m embarassed for
our country due to the horrible biased
coverage. It’s pretty sad when a candidate
sits down for an interview and gets fed
cookies and milk and then the opponent
sits down with the same media organization
and gets their BONES PICKED APART!!!
What a crock! Do they think the American
people are that stupid????

To all Americans who think the news media has been biased. Our campaign icalled “Media Bias-We are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore”
This campaign needs your help” Please e-mail this to all your friends etc. and blog it everywhere. Our mission is to stop this nonsense and the only way we can do it is to get in their pocketbook and ratings. First mission. Do not watch the debates on any channel other than Fox. We must hurt the other stations ratings. Second please take the time to e-mail NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, ABC and just put this message “Media Bias-We are mad as hell as we are not going to take it anymore” We will give them some demands in the next couple of days and if they do not take action we will call on a national boycott of their advertisers and stations. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME AND GET THIS WORD OUT! The only way we can succeed is in numbers!!! Fox-help us get the word out.

We’re not supposed to be able to go to MSNBC CNN or NYT..

Thank you fox for allowing us to decide….It is so wonderful!

This lady just hit the right nail on the head of those blindly media!
Sadly, the “O”rignal “B”elief “A”ntagonizes “M”ajor “A”mericans guy and most of the media continue to FOOL the general public, without having any tract record to proof his experiences to be qualified to run for the highest position/toughest job in the nation.
Yet they are shamelessly and tirelessly making all kinds of delusive tricks to misleading voters one way or another, disconcerting them to believe that he is the one to make CHANGE, to LEAD…..
Wake up! Folks, the bottom line is that this “empty suit” guy is not for REAL, he can’t be the leader for this greatest country under the sun!
God bless America!

Im really sorry. I am a republician and I am so shocked at this party. There are so many people out there that are jumping for joy over Gov. Palin. I for one am distant from her. I have been doing alot of research on her and I was so shocked about the things that I had found out. The problems that are happening in Washington is a republician problem and I am so sick of our party lying to us. I am ashamed to hear so many people complaining about our economy but are so quick to vote for McCain. Well I refuse to vote for McCain so Barr is the person I would think is better equiped to serve as president. The McCain campaign brings us to many lies and scandals and never offers up a real reason for us to believe. I advise everybody to do their own research on the The McCain campaign. With so many lobbyiest and and ties to the Bush administration I just can’t take the lies and the secrecy anymore. So as a republician I am so ashamed.
