Obama Tries to Stop the Palin Effect
CORAL GABLES, FL - “It is good to see so many so many women in the house! You can feel that women power,” Obama exclaimed to a crowd of some 8,000 in South Florida, waving signs reading “Women for Obama” and “Moms for Obama.”
The candidate is hoping to attract women voters - despite, or perhaps because of recent polls that have shown the McCain/Palin ticket drawing support from women. Sarah Palin has complicated matters for the Democratic candidate in the race, so Obama is busy touting his record on issues he considers important to women, such as equal pay, health care, and a woman’s right to choose.
“You’d think that solving these problems would be a high priority for anybody running for president in this country. Well, you haven’t met my opponent, John McCain,” Obama said to cheers.
Careful not to mention Sarah Palin’s name during his speech, Obama accused McCain of not understanding what’s gong on in the lives of women in this country. “Why else would he oppose legislation to help women get equal pay, and suggest that the reason why women aren’t paid fairly isn’t because of discrimination on the job, but because they need more education and training? … Why else would he say that Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision and run away from a platform, and run on a platform to outlaw abortion – even in cases of rape and incest? Why else would he propose a health care plan that actually taxes your health care benefits for the first time in history and gives insurance companies free reign to discriminate against women with histories of breast cancer and heart diseases and other illnesses? He must not know!”
Of course any story about Obama and the women’s vote has to include an obligatory reference to Hillary Clinton - this one included. Some wonder if Obama’s kicking himself for letting that ship sail, but today Obama reiterated his support for his choice of experience in Joe Biden. Who, by the way, Obama says is a friend to women.
“People forget that Joe Biden wrote the Violence Against Women’s Act (sic), so that we finally treat domestic violence like the heinous crime it is. And women, in case you’re wondering, John McCain voted against that legislation,” Obama said, adding that Biden raised his kids on his own. “Joe Biden also knows firsthand what it means to juggle work and family and you won’t find a stronger champion for a woman’s right to choose than Joe Biden so I’m proud to have him by my side in this campaign.”
For those who remain unconvinced that a man gets women’s issues more than the woman on the other ticket, Obama assured them this isn’t just political for him - it’s personal. “Because I come here today not just as a candidate for president. I come here as a son and a grandson, as a husband and a father who has seen firsthand throughout my life the challenges so many women face every day in this country.”

At the end of the day the state of Mississippi will decide Barak Obama’s fate. The pressure is on. Mississippi remains cool while sitting on a goldmine of wealth and prosperity.
We should all move to Mississippi….
Thanks at http://www.urbanads.blogspot.com
Well Sen OBama I can say as a father of Four lovely young women, one of which is physically challenged I can honestly say I fully support Sen McCain and Gov Palin. I work in a work place where women are paid the same as I am and do the same work as I do. So please, Please tell me why you and your supporters are so upset that there are women in this country like my wife who thinks the same way as Gov Palin?
So John McCain isn’t a son and a grandson or a husband and a father? Ahh the arrogance that is Obama. Just wait until it comes into full view of the public how he violated the Logan Act which has made him a felon, not to mention nearly a traitor.
The Liberazzi are coming, the Liberazzi are coming
Actually their already here! The liberal, paparazzi like news media are so incapable of independent thought it is down right scary to think that they are in control of most things labeled ‘media’. Very few of the people that I know think with such a one track mindset, their very practical in their thinking. If something is right or wrong it is just right or wrong. I am deeply afraid to send my child to the vast majority of colleges or universitys in this country because they all espouse the same ideals as the lunatics that are running what passes for the media.
If you actually do have an independent thought they label you as intolerant, prejudiced or just down right stupid. It doesn’t matter what the subject matter is. This why I have to vote from a conservative mindset. I have to do my duty as an American and fight this idiotic approach to thinking. Just because the thought comes from a conservative doesn’t necessarily mean it has no merit. This is their attitude and we all should fight it any way we can.
Lets not hide from the Liberazzi, lets confront ‘it’.
THE MORE I LISTEN TO AND READ ABOUT “the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate,” the more I like him. Barack Obama strikes a chord with me like no political figure since Ronald Reagan. To explain why, I need to explain why I am a conservative and what it means to me.
In 1964, at the age of 16, I organized the Dallas County Youth for Goldwater. My senior thesis at the University of Texas was on the conservative intellectual revival in America. Twenty years later, I was invited by William F. Buckley Jr. to join the board of National Review. I later became its publisher.
Conservatism to me is less a political philosophy than a stance, a recognition of the fallibility of man and of man’s institutions. Conservatives respect the past not for its antiquity but because it represents, as G.K. Chesterton said, the democracy of the dead; it gives the benefit of the doubt to customs and laws tried and tested in the crucible of time. Conservatives are skeptical of abstract theories and utopian schemes, doubtful that government is wiser than its citizens, and always ready to test any political program against actual results.
Liberalism always seemed to me to be a system of “oughts.” We ought to do this or that because it’s the right thing to do, regardless of whether it works or not. It is a doctrine based on intentions, not results, on feeling good rather than doing good.
But today it is so-called conservatives who are cemented to political programs when they clearly don’t work. The Bush tax cuts—a solution for which there was no real problem and which he refused to end even when the nation went to war—led to huge deficit spending and a $3 trillion growth in the federal debt. Facing this, John McCain pumps his “conservative” credentials by proposing even bigger tax cuts. Meanwhile, a movement that once fought for limited government has presided over the greatest growth of government in our history. That is not conservatism; it is profligacy using conservatism as a mask.
Today it is conservatives, not liberals, who talk with alarming bellicosity about making the world “safe for democracy.” It is John McCain who says America’s job is to “defeat evil,” a theological expansion of the nation’s mission that would make George Washington cough out his wooden teeth.
This kind of conservatism, which is not conservative at all, has produced financial mismanagement, the waste of human lives, the loss of moral authority, and the wreckage of our economy that McCain now threatens to make worse.
Barack Obama is not my ideal candidate for president. (In fact, I made the maximum donation to John McCain during the primaries, when there was still hope he might come to his senses.) But I now see that Obama is almost the ideal candidate for this moment in American history. I disagree with him on many issues. But those don’t matter as much as what Obama offers, which is a deeply conservative view of the world. Nobody can read Obama’s books (which, it is worth noting, he wrote himself) or listen to him speak without realizing that this is a thoughtful, pragmatic, and prudent man. It gives me comfort just to think that after eight years of George W. Bush we will have a president who has actually read the Federalist Papers.
Most important, Obama will be a realist. I doubt he will taunt Russia, as McCain has, at the very moment when our national interest requires it as an ally. The crucial distinction in my mind is that, unlike John McCain, I am convinced he will not impulsively take us into another war unless American national interests are directly threatened.
“Every great cause,” Eric Hoffer wrote, “begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” As a cause, conservatism may be dead. But as a stance, as a way of making judgments in a complex and difficult world, I believe it is very much alive in the instincts and predispositions of a liberal named Barack Obama
Obama fails to mention that he pays his female campaign staff 25% less than his males, and Mccain surprisingly pays his females MORE.
Doesn’t matter.
Of course he wants to stop anyone that threatens his winning the white house! He will go as far as sending over 300 of his people to Wasilla AK to find any dirt they can on Palin, and tell his computer geeks to do what they have to do, but I don’t want to be involved, IE, the hacking of Palin’s e-mail.
Food for thought:
Obama is a lawyer. Biden is a lawyer. Most of Obama’s friends and his wife are lawyers. Lawyers will do what ever it takes to win a case, no matter whether their clients are guilty or innocent! How many honest lawyers do you know?
Obama says he will raise taxes only on the rich? As a lawyer, he knows that most rich people have lots of lawyers working for them. Lawyers know how to find and use those magical little loop holes to get around paying taxes!
This is why Hollywood elite’s Love Obama!
Don’t trust Lawyers!!!!!!
Did he hear what Bill said about Sarah yesterday?
A white woman voting for Obama/Biden
ummmm He doesnt have to try and stop it! IT IS HAPPING ON IT’S OWN…. PALIN is last weeks news.
GO Obama/Biden 2009′
Another speech with empty words !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The women in this country never cease to amaze me!!! All you feminists from the 60’s & 70’s still haven’t figured it out. The only women you want to support for political office are the ones that are in total agreement with you. Haven’t figured out why we are the majority in this country with the least amount of progress made in the past 30-40 years????
There is NO man that will ever understand all we go through, from giving birth to working twice as hard to be thought half as good. Get over yourselves, put your tail between your legs and allow common sense to enter the picture. I do not agree with Governor Palin 100%, but at least it is progress for us women and a foot in the door to bigger and better things.
You haven’t accomplished anything since Roe vs Wade. Wake up. Obama is an empty suit, the most incompetent, inexperienced man we have ever had run for the office of Presidency of the United States and will tell you anything and everything you want to hear to get elected.
I urge you not to let his dream become our nightmare!!!!
How this for playing Santa Claus (“Obama and Biden will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and they will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal,” the candidates vow in their campaign platform.
Johns Hopkins professor Steve Hanke said such spending would merely drive up American debt, while doing almost nothing for the world’s poor.) I don’t think so, Obama needs to rethink
this for sure.
I could not vote for him if he was the only one on the ballet. People think about this
world view instead of the american view
Having a uterus doesn’t mean one speaks for all women, as Sarah “My Fertility is my Only Apparent Credential” Palin has so adequately proven. I’m sure not voting for her or “I really don’t want to talk about that” so-called “straight-talker” McCain.
Remember, too, that Obama was raised by a single mom, making him even more in touch with what millions of women face when raising their children alone. Palin, on the other hand, has used nannies to raise her children.
McCain? Well, he abandoned his injured wife when she was disfigured in an auto accident that hapened whle McCain was in Nam. Feh.
The choice is so clear: like a breath of fresh air — OBAMA 08!
you should have pick Clinton you dumb.
Talk is cheap!
Palin is losing steam as people see her for what she is: a provincial candidate that is not suitable for the national/international stage. I can’t get past her cat-yowly voice myself, much less her colloquial vocabulary. It has been painful enough listening to Bush butcher the language for 8 years. Then there is her yen to have creationism taught in our schools.
At any rate, she had better come out of hiding and take her lumps with the media like everyone else, because it looks an awful lot like she has something to hide. If she can’t take the heat then maybe she should go back to the kitchen.
gross. Obama would consider his own grandchildren”punishment” MOMs against obama.
WOMEN OF AMERICA, YOU CANNOT TRUST THIS MAN. OBAMA COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU.
HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A FIGUREHEAD WHILE THE OLD BOYS IN THE BACK ROOM ARE PULLING HIS STRINGS.
HIS PART OF THE DEAL IS HE GETS TO POST FOR PICTURES TO SHOW OFF HIS BIG HEAD DURING HIS POWER TRIP.
He does not have to stop the Palin effect. Palin is “see through” and the whole world knows it. Do you think that it is just a coincidence that she is not campaigning alone? She being the VP pick has come to be a disaster. All the hype about her has turned into a big puff of smoke. She is a liar that has been called out a million times. People need to stop believing the news…like Fox and read to get what is really going on in the world. People cannot afford to vote against their own economic issues regardless of what party you belong too. No one will be with you when your bills need to be paid. And all of these older white woman; I sure hope you are not banking on Social Security because as far as the Repugs are concerned with privatising it into the stock market it would be gambled away with the 500 point drop Wednesday by now. Think about that when you go into the booth.
Obama is just pandering to the Hillary crowd he snubbed. Nobama 08… Keep the change.
OMIGOD FOX NEWS!!!!
You distort. The Sheep comply. You guys give journalism a bad name.
Obama doesn’t have to stop the “Palin Effect” - she’s stopping it all by herself!!
*********Obama / Biden ‘08 **************
So - where is his mother? His grandmother?
Obama keeps talking about his family. O. K. that’s understandable, everyone does. But why don’t we ever see photos of his grandmother in Hawaii ? I for one think older people are pretty neat. We have had photos of all the other candidates (even if remote kinfolk) practically rammed down out throats. I have never seen one of her except of older family pics when he was a baby. He supposedly went to visit her several times during his Hawaiian vacation. My question is does she really exist ? Is she a fictitious character to make him seem “more” of a genuine family man ? She is bound to be a pretty neat little old lady, if she really exist. Why is a simple photograph “off the table” ? I would just like to see her. What gives here ? Is he ashamed of her color ?
Regardless of your personal convictions (which are quite obvious), as someone in the media whose job it is to disseminate information that the rest of us can use to make a rational decision on November 4th, it does you, us, and our country no service whatsoever to put up a strawman (or in this case, invent your own reality) in order to somehow strengthen your point. Your article is written on the basis that (1) there continues to be a ‘Palin effect’ in the polls; (2) that McCain is gaining ground among women in the polls; and (3) Obama is scrambling to undo (1) and (2). If you take todays RealClearPolitics aggregate poll, you will see that any Palin effect there may have been following the RNC has now gone. Polls now stand about exactly where they did prior to the conventions. Furthermore, if you bother to click on the detail of each of the polls that make up the aggregate, you will see that the ones that give a breakdown on a gender basis all show little change to a slight gain for Obama among women. Specifically, (1) Pew: “little change among women voters”; (2) Quinnipiac: Obama 54-40 in Sep vs. 53-39 in Aug; (3) Zogby/Reuters: “Obama expanded his edge over McCain among women”; and (4) CBS News/NYTimes: “Obama has made gains with women, and white women in particular. He now leads among women and runs even with McCain among white women. McCain led among white women after the Republican convention.” I have grown tired of baseless partisan attacking. We all have a right to our opinions, but when we stop being truthful in order to ‘win’…meaningful debate breaks down and nobody wins. When I see people spouting this sort of thing on blog responses, I don’t pay much attention; but, you are a journalist, so you are (and should be) held to a higher standard. Gather FACTS and report them…don’t squeeze the facts in the right mold to fit what you WANT to say.
WASP Women Against Sarah Palin
She is not the only one wearing lipstick
Palin Effect……its been erased……wanna know why?
1. Troopergate……just being under investigation for abuse of power is terrible
2. Earmarks….earmarks are fine and go to noble projects, but Palin and Mccain lie about her even requesting them when in fact she has requested and recieved more earmarks per capita than any other state…..she was the first ever mayor of alaska to recieve earmarks and hired a lobbyist to accomplish that….
3. bridge to nowhere…..after it became unpopular she backed out, but then kept the money and built a road to the proposed bridge site…
4. her inexperience
thats why……
What a misleading headliner “Obama trieds to stop the Palin Effect”. He is campaigning against McCain. As far as I am concern, Palin is out of the picture - out of my picture anyway. I don’t take her seriously in terms of her qualifications. I do take her seriously when she joins in the lies that McCain peddles and will fight the behaviour not the person. McCain has given new meaning to the ‘L’ word - LIAR. Thank you.
Obama and Biden have already stopped the Palin Effect, as shown by recent poll numbers. Palin is a weak candidate and an unethical one. It is shameful that McCain selected her over dozens of more qualified female leaders.
Fox News Alert: he already did.
Here is one thing women are doing maybe by tomorrow Planned Parenthood will be in the news thanking the GOP for such an eye opening unifying candidate.
Subject: Fwd: a brilliant idea for $10
Instead of (in addition to?) us all sending around more emails about
how horrible Sarah Palin is, let’s all make a donation to Planned Parenthood.
In her name.
And here’s the good part: when you make a donation to PP in her
name, they’ll send her a card telling her that the donation has
been made in her honor. Here’s the link to the Planned
Parenthood website:
https://secure.ga0.org/02/pp10000_inhonor
You’ll need to fill in the address to let PP know where to send
the “in Sarah Palin’s honor” card. I suggest you use the address
for the McCain campaign headquarters, which is:
McCain for President
1235 S. Clark Street
1st Floor
Arlington , VA 22202
PS make sure you use that link above or choose the pulldown of
Donate–Honorary or Memorial Donations, not the regular “Donate

I think “tries to stop the Palin effect” is a bit misleading. According to the latest polls the “Palin effect” has already waned. Obama has regained the lead he had before the RNC.
Obama is stupid and he is insulting woman. Not consider Hillery as his running mate is too over-estimate himself as a Jr. Sen. (Not sure how he can be a Sen with such poor background and experience). Now, he knows he is in trouble. Palin is great! Very glad to see that John MaCain is so brave to choose her. He has good vision and good quality as a leader. Obama has poor judgement. Obama is the one who I think is really insulting women. Stop Obama, go back to your own state, black dwe!
Sniff, sniff….MILF
What Palin effect? The one where her net approval/disapproval rating has cratered into negative territory, the worst of the 4 candidates? The one that has Obama polling better at this point with women than Kerry did four years ago? I say Vivia Palin! Keep on affecting things and the Republican ticket will be lucky to carry AK and AZ!
Check out what Obama pays the women on his staff versus what McCain pays his. That will confirm how two-faced he really is!
“It is good to see so many so many women in the house! You can feel that women power,”
Ohmigod, how sexist is that!? He sounds so in-touch and sincere in his praise of women. Please. Gag!
so much expectation from an individual who has done so little. the heavens will open if he ever does anything that lives up to half the hype.
What is the Palin effect? Just sensationalism. !5 minutes of fame that’s already over. Time to address the real issues
Palin really??? listen remove the MILF idea and the woman is terrible
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Funny how Obama thinks Biden will appeal to female voters because Biden raised his kids himself…(sigh) seems like Obama needs to enter the 21st century before he can become president. Women have been in the workplace for decades, and (gasp!) some men have been stay-at-home dads too. But that doesn’t mean men understand women more…what a sexist comment!
sure, that’s why he didn’t choose hillary to run on his ticket. he doesn’t get women.
he gets himself first, second and third. a vote for obama is a vote for obama period.
Forget palin; she is a unqualified at any level. The issue is the economy.
“I come here as a son and a grandson, as a husband and a father who has seen firsthand throughout my life the challenges so many women face every day in this country.”
Gee Barack, you don’t have 5 children, you’ve never been a Governor with children, you have never faced any of those challenges first hand and you couldn’t stomach having a strong woman as vice-president. Except for that we should believe you support strong competent women. You couldn’t handle Hillary, you may not even be able to handle Michelle. Some say she had a lot to do with your choice of “safe” Joe Biden.
Obama is turning into a big liar. McCain did not vote aganst equal pay for woman. Obama is nothing more than a Chicago thug.
“Careful not to mention Sarah Palin’s name during his speech,”
Can you be any more slanted? He’s not running against Palin he’s running against McCain.
Just like McCain isn’t running against Biden.
Bunch of Rupert puppets.
Yea he cares so much about women, look what he did to Hillary, accusing her of being a racist, mocking and making fun of her. He has no respect for women, except that mean hateful woman he is married to. UGH!
obama is the most hypocrite politician i have ever known. i can’t believe that a lot of them supports him.
Those of us here in Florida haven’t forgotten the primary’s. Obama will never get our vote. He is all talk and has no experience.
Will you see it this weekend…
It seems with Obama getting more and more media attention from the media. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m seeing Obama touch the side of his forehead area with his middle finger more often than I would like. Is this a inside gesture to towards the Republican Party or a bad habit. If it’s a bad habit I can’t believe his advisor haven’t brought it to his attention.
Strong conservatives are giving the thumbs down to Palin, it is not only the dems. And why are they backing off from supporting her? That should be the substance of this article, but given it is FOX, they will see everything as us v the dems.
Francis
Obama just loves to copy cat opponent’s strength and he is the one who is willing to say and do to fulfill his white house dream; he flip-flops on every issues that he addressed.
When did you write this, a week ago? Palin’s star is falling fast and Obama is ahead in the polls again. Once we women got a good at Palin, all but the extreme right ran to Obama. Her snarky arrogance, lackluster intelligence, lack of knowledge and experience, Cheney-style secrecy and deception, religious extremism, lack of support for women’s equal pay…the list goes on and on and on.
Maybe you just wrote this to soothe those rightwingers.
The “Palin effect” just proves the American people are stupid and don’t deserve the Democracy they have, because they are even dumber than she, and that is scary.
McCain/Palin - Dipstick and Lipstick
What Palin Effect? Oh, you mean all of that transparent hoopla last week and right after the Pub convention? Yeah…it resulted in what it was really all about FLUFF. Fluff doesn’t win elections.
“The candidate is hoping to attract women voters - despite, or perhaps because of recent polls that have shown the McCain/Palin ticket drawing support from women.”
You seemed to have missed the recent polls that showed a large shift of women voters moving to the Obama/Biden ticket
Apparently women weren’t the only ones to show up… there was also about a dozen black protestors with signs reading “Blacks Against Obama”. There’s a video of the whole thing floating around on the net and on the Drudge Report. It definately rattled Obama.
Seriously? After all that has been proven in opposition of the maverick persona, after the polls have proven that the “bounce” doesn’t exist and women still support Obama far more than McCain, the FOX Neo-Con media still tries to sell the idea that somehow people really give a flying turd about Palin.
Sarah Palin is not a Maverick. Look it up. Ford presented the Marverick in 1969. The Maverick is nothing more than a rebranded Edsel Comet. Edsel- the worst overhyped product in the history of North America. The Comet - An astronomical event that appears unexpectedly and fades fast.
I have one question, since we are finally seeing the flaws of the clinton administration some 8 years later, what are we to expect 8 years after Obama if he even gets the presidency? People seem to forget that the financial industry was tweaked by the Clintons and now look at us?
OBAMA AND BIDEN DEFINITELY ARE SO MUCH BETTER FOR WE WOMEN OF AMERICA–WHAT DOES MCCAIN OFFER—-NOTHING THAT WE WANT!!! I WANT EQUAL PAY AND MY RIGHT TO CHOOSE. MY DAUGHTER JUST GRADUATED COLLEGE AND I HAD TO PUT HER ON MY COBRA PLAN AS SHE IS A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AND NOT ENTITLED TO BENEFITS YET. THE COBRA PLAN IS VERY EXPENSIVE–WITH OBAMA I COULD HAVE COUNTED ON THE COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH PLAN THAT HE WANTS TO ADOPT. IF MCCAIN HAD HIS WAY OUR RETIREMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN CONTECTED TO WALL STREET AND WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JEOPARDY. OBAMA IS BY WIDE MARGINS MORE POPULAR IN EUROPE, CANADA AND OTHER COUNTRIES WHICH WOULD HELP GREATLY IN COOPERATION BETWEEN NATIONS!
Why would anyone in FL or MI vote for obumler when he fought Hillary every step of the way to keep their votes from counting.
Let’s just keep this simple …
… if she won’t allow her staff to testify - if she won’t allow her husband to testify - if she HERSELF won’t testify to clear her name and get all of this behind us …
… why would I want her in any government office?
No thanks. I’ll pass.
Obama shouldn’t have to try too hard to defuse or stop the “Palin effect” after her stand against women’s right to choose, her unfailing pentacostal religious beliefs, her “deer in the headlights” look when asked a pointed question, the “private matter” of her daughter’s pregnancy (some mom)—-the list goes on. Seems she’s losing ground on her popularity/unpopularity ratio as we watch, and McSame’s helping her right along the way.
My wife attented Obama’s rally in Pueblo, CO last week and she reported the crowd was “electricified” by his presence and his candor. She came away from that rally totally in favor of him as our next president—and I respect her belief in that 100%.
Obama / Biden, the ONLY way to fly!!!!
rreally? well why wouldnt obama tell these women that he employs more men than women and he pays them less than the male workers and that it is MCCAIN that employs more women then men and he pays them more than the men. so who is really bull sh****** who? and to all of those women out there that may hear him speak, please try to get a chance to ask him about this. i would be very interested in knowing how he explains that one!
Joe Biden can juggle work and family, but Sarah Palin can’t, right Barry?
Maybe Sarah opposes abortion because she knows that the majority of women oppose abortion. It’s only men that really favor it.
That’s all it is to B.O. {a game}
“People like Senator Obama have been too busy gaming the system and haven’t ever done a thing to actually challenge the system. Thats not country first, that’s Obama first,”
kiss an a ss here - stab a back there -
… my opponent can’t name a single occasion in which he fought against his party’s leadership to get something done for the country,”
B.O. is first with B.O. - I can clearly see that -
I have news for you B.O. - tens of millions of Americans can see straight thru you.
you are empty, and not an answer to any problem the USA may have.
JUST SAY NO TO B.O.
Better title: Obama along with the Mass Media Tries to Stop the Palin Effect
C’mon, thereis no palin effect, FOX news the most ridiculous name in news
Obama was raised by strong, capable women. He is married to, and loves, a strong, capable woman. He is the father of two, little girls and wants to see each of them grow up in a country that stimulates them to become strong, capable women. There should be NO doubt that Obama is a friend to women. Biden openly displays affection and unadulterated love for his wife, Jill. He also knows how difficult is can be to raise little children, alone, and after great loss.
Other than Hillary, these men, these two, good men, are needed desperately in our White House to forge the way for our daughters and grand-daughters to experience the American Dream with, or without, marriage and children.
“For those who remain unconvinced that a man gets women’s issues more than the woman on the other ticket”, they need to take a good look at what these candidates are proposing, not what’s between their legs.
Making sure rape victims are billed for their screening tests/rape kits? check.
Making sure women and men don’t get equal pay? check.
Making sure women can’t make their own decision about abortion even in cases of rape and incest? check.
Making sure contraceptive medications are not covered by insurance companies while men can keep their viagra supply free of charge?
Before you vote, keep in mind your decision will help to affect WHO will become the first female VP in the US history, and her performance will have a long lasting effect on those seeking office after her.
Well, Obama has one more trick up his sleeve. I received information today from a very reliable source that Biden is planning to announce that he will have to remove himself from the campaign due to health problems - supposedly an aneursym. After the VP debate, on October 5th, he is planning to make his announcement. Then, Obama will announce that Hillary Clinton has agreed to replace Biden on the ticket. This will allow Obama to get rid of Biden without having to admit his poor judgment by not selecting Hillary to begin with.
Hillary has agreed to replace Biden on the ticket because Obama has agreed to pay off the balance of her campaign debt.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I find this deceitful ploy to be an insult to Hillary and an insult to his supporters. Obama has been able to hide his unethical activities in Chicago during his rise to the top, including his connections with Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko and his “favors” for some very unscrupulous characters - don’t let him get away with this. I am also disappointed that Hillary would allow herself to “play second fiddle” to anyone. I thought she had more self-respect than that. But I guess the prize at the end is worth doing or saying anything to win.
Don’t let Obama get away with this trick. Just what we need - a President that no one can trust! And, a Vice President who can be bought!
Please send this information to everyone you know. If this gets out to the public, Obama will have to find another trick to get rid of Biden or he will have to admit his poor judgement. Either way, he is not fit to be our President.
If he wanted women, he could have picked a VP women who got more votes in the primary than he did. Obama First!
Palin is like a scratched record with an old record player. Her rhetoric plays over and over and over again.
Palin opposed funding rape kits for rape victims in her town. Fun times.

NOT Buying your talk, talk, talk!!!! IF you really mean all this talk - YOU should of picked
HILLARY - SHE is the best qualified - AND brings 18 MIL along with her.
But you did NOT - and that will cost you the election.
McCain/Palin - Best team for Women - & America!!!
What Palin effect ? The going off the rails effect… lol
Why would America REWARD complete Republican failure ?
We wont.
The more the American people get to know Govenor Palin, the more they are going to like her. Obama is worried, and I think he should be.
This story is stale. The so-called “Palin effect” officially ended Monday because of our economic problems, which are now obvious even to those who have no understanding of financial markets, and because of the words that have me out of the mouths of McCain and Palin in recent days. Maybe McCain and his political “soulmate” can right the ship — seven more weeks until Nov. 4.
ANY WOMAN THAT VOTES FOR MCCAIN/ PALIN IS VOTING AGAINST YOUR OWN BEST INTEREST. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS NEVER SUPPORTED WOMEN. PALIN HAS NEVER SUPPORTED WOMEN. THEY ARE GRIFTERS. INTELLIGENT WOMEN…PLEASE STAND UP AND THINK.
“The candidate is hoping to attract women voters - despite, or perhaps because of recent polls that have shown the McCain/Palin ticket drawing support from women.”
Actually, the recent polls show that “Palin Effect” - as the article calls it - is no longer significant among female voters.
