Obama - McCain to Unite on 9/11
Both the Republican and Democratic candidates are expected to speak at a forum on “service and civic engagement” on 9/11, hosted by Columbia University. Today, their campaigns issued a joint statement announcing the two competitors would visit Ground Zero in Manhattan together, seven years after the 9/11 attacks.
“All of us came together on 9/11 - not as Democrats or Republicans – but as Americans. In smoke-filled corridors and on the steps of the Capitol; at blood banks and at vigils - we were united as one American family. On Thursday, we will put aside politics and come together to renew that unity, to honor the memory of each and every American who died, and to grieve with the families and friends who lost loved ones. We will also give thanks for the firefighters, police, and emergency responders who set a heroic example of selfless service, and for the men and women who serve today in defense of the freedom and security that came under attack in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania,” the statement read.
In the midst of what’s becoming a heated campaign, this is the second joint statement issued from the campaigns - the first announced the presidential debate schedule.

Maybe Obama can expound on how we brought it on ourselves. After all we are a downright mean country.

Here these two campaigns are both doing what’s right for the country and you come up with this trash talk. You should be ashamed!
It is important to consider that our policies abroad can have ramnifications.
Remember, Obama wants to shift focus from Iraq to Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden and the Taliban have not been dealt with, but McCain wants to stay focused on Iraq.
I consider myself an independent, and would have been glad to vote for McCain in 2000. He’s the Republican president we should have had. But many RNCers were chanting OIL! OIL!, and thats a snub in the face of our Armed Forces. Thse individuals had the honor and courage to serve our country, we should honor them with missions that truly protect and serve our nation, not the pan-global oil companies that are owned by a few American residents.
Just maybe we can let go of all the political hot air and on 9/11 remember what happened to us and our families on that terrible day.
I lost two family members and my children lost several life long friends.
Think about that day, not as Republicans or Democrats but as Americans united in our loss and determined to heal as a Nation.
Obama will probably be a “no show” as he spends time trying to retool! Call your friends the Clintons…they will help you…NOT! Further, why did you allow your staffers to trash thousands of new American flags after your Dem convention? You can’t answer “present” on this one buddy!

I would love to know what Obama is doing right? As far as I can see he hasn’t done anything except being “present”
What a joke, Obama would institue policy and executive orders as President which will pave a super highway for terrorists to enter the US and attack America. It is an insult to those lives that were lost to have him involved in any way with any commentary on 9/11. Perhaps his corrupt relatives running the totalitarian regime in Kenya will assist him in his continuation on the war on terror.
OMG! They’re back. I no sooner reported The Democratic National Committee consigned to the dumper, than it popped up again that very night at the 9-11 Forum On Public Service & Civic Engagement. Held at Columbia University, Richard Stengel, managing editor of TIME moderated the forum along with Judy Woodruff, staged by Service Nation, “a new nationwide coalition.” Although not related to journalist Bob Woodruff, Judy is married to Al Hunt executive editor of The Bloomberg News, DC, bureau. Bloomberg also reported that, “she [Sarah Palin] was arrested 22 years ago on a drunken-driving charge.” I believe it fair to say both Judy and Richard are committed liberals. Anyway, The DNC reemerged as The [International] Provisional People’s Collective Party, or PCP. And, guess what the PCP has in store: Political Officers, Commissars. The title Commissar refers to either a People’s Commissar (government), or a Political Commissar (military). In the Soviet Union, the Institute of Political Commissars was established to control the military. The state security organizations, KGB, etc., and or People’s Commissars also controlled the Soviet Army, together with the entire Soviet State. Compulsory Public Service is the future. All men will be judged politically; anti-Marxist sentiment will be crushed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC2Bk8f8plU&feature=related But we first require a state organ with which to train the political functionaries who hold coequal rank and authority. Welcome comrade, to Hillary’s National Public Service Academy: http://theseedsof9-11.com
