Biden Gets Angry at GOP: Gives ‘Em Hell For Ignoring Middle Class
LANGHORNE, PA — Joe Biden was the Obama campaign’s most forceful attack dog on the stump in the Philadelphia area today, turning in strong hits on the Republican ticket for twisting the knife into Democrats at their convention, but failing to mention so much as a single idea to help the American middle class.
Riling himself up along with the crowd of 2000 at a gymnasium in Langhorne, PA, Biden railed against the convention speakers. “It’s not so much I heard in the Republican convention, when I heard John speak last night, or not so much what I heard when I heard what the governor had to say, the Vice Presidential candidate. It’s what I didn’t hear. The silence. The silence of the Republican party was deafening,” he shouted, deafening in his own right. “It was deafening on jobs, on health care, on environment, on all the things that matter, on the neighborhoods I grew up in. Deafening.”
As the crowd built to its own crescendo along with the Vice Presidential contender, Biden exclaimed “their America is not the America I live in. They see something different than I see.”
“This isn’t theater here, this is real. It makes me angry,” he said
Biden, who’s been careful to praise both Sarah Palin and John McCain personally, recounted a time when he returned from a boring state dinner in Greece to find his wife Jill and McCain — then Biden’s Naval Liaison — dancing and drinking on top of a table in Greece, making the point that he and McCain have long been close friends. But Biden uses that familiarity to lend weight to his attacks on McCain’s judgment and record; today, he also used it to give more credence to attacks on McCain’s running mate — paying Sarah Palin something of a backhanded compliment for being excellent at going negative.
“Rick Davis, John’s Campaign manager said two days at the convention and I heard this. He said this election is not about issues. That’s what he said. And everything I saw at the convention demonstrated that. It was about how well placed — and boy she is good, how a left jab can be stuck pretty nice,” Biden said, throwing his own shadow punch. “It’s about how Barack Obama is such a bad guy”
“What do you talk about when you have nothing to say? What do you talk about when you cannot explain the last 8 years of failure?” he asked, answering “you talk about the other guy.”
Biden, who is urged to take on Palin forcefully in their upcoming debate at nearly every campaign stop, told the crowd at a union hall in Northeast Philadephia that he’ll follow the model of Harry Truman. “When they yelled at Harry Truman “give em hell, Harry,” he yelled back I’m not gonna give ‘em hell, I’m going to tell them the truth and they’re going to think it’s hell,” Biden said.

Senator Biden for 40 or so yrs . . . What have you done for the middleclass all these years?
Where were you during the Vietnam War?
Asthma, huh? Draft-dodger!!! Coward!!!
Joe Biden is a windbag. He knows that a convention does not lay out programmatics. He also knows that the people both Mccain and Palin were speaking about are the middle class–just like me. They are the small business owners, etc. Joe has been out to lunch for years with a strong interest in hearing himself talk. Biden’s America is not the America I see–his America is one of government, government and more government. He is so standupish–right. He does not believe in abortion; but, he will not stand in the way of someone who does. That is like saying I do not believe in slavery; but, i will not stand in the way of someone who does. This example shows how old Joe will not take a position of controversial issues. Once again–Republicans are middle class–ask the 40 million of them that listened to Palins Speech or the 38 million that listened to McCains speech (lets see about 20 million listened to Biden for they knew that he would preach more of the same stuff he has preached for 30 years. Sorry Joe–get better talking points.
Biden is a bigger moron than I onced realized. Healthcare, (including special needs children) along with energy (clean coal and nuclear, as well as US and coastal drilling) and jobs created as a result of these fuel sources being developed were all mentioned at the Convention. It’s all in the transcripts from the GOP convention. Listen Joe, blatantly ignoring the topics covered at the GOP Convention doen’t mean they never happened, and unfortunately that makes you a liar.
What is middle class to them? I heard that it is 100,00 dollars on up to a quarter of a million. In other words he wants us to work 10 days a week 12 hour days and pay for all the welfare junkies and take it in the ass for the rich. I thought that we were middle class I guess we are stupid itiots for giving our money away. GET REAL!!!!!
This really is not a close election and when the public understands who Palin really is they will understand how dishonorable a choice was made here.
Now that the conventions are over hopefully both sides will refocus on issues.
When is Fox going to start clammering for Palin to talk to the press?
Biden > Palin
I am angly at GOP too!
They never try to address the issues like Foreclosure, unemployment or immigrant.
I wonder when was the last time McCain wrote a check to pay anything by himself.
At the Convention Replublicans never try to embrace any other voters but people like hocky-mom.
Palin must know her stand in abstinency does not work and will not work. She can not even face the reporters!
LOL!!! Joe sit down! Shut Up! LOL!!
Biden will be a brillian debater. Palin, if she’s aware at all of what she’s gotten herself (”hey wait a minute guys, all you said I had to to was read the speeches you put in front of me”) into should be shaking in her shoes.
I don’t care if you like Obama or not. Please do not vote for McCain.
McCain may not be a bad guy. Obviously he has shown perseverance and strength as a POW. However, he has the same key problems that W. Bush has. He is not well educated and he is lacking culture and depth.
George W. came in with the same problems. An entertaining, likeable guy, who screwed the whole country with his ignorance, stubborness, and lack of foresight.
I live out of the country currently. People often ask me, do I really believe the U.S. could possibly elect McCain after 8 years of Bush and all of the struggles we have had.
Please give me a reason not to respond, “Don’t underestimate the stupidity of the American people.”
Lets see,
Joe Biden plagiarized speeches from John & Robert Kennedy. Inflated, (lied), about his academic record and has an ego that cannot pass up any mini-cam.
He is a blow hard lawyer with a huge mouth. And yes Joe, “I also bath daily”.
What an idiot.
Bob Galvin
Hey Joe, perhaps you should whisper in Apollo’s ear that it’s not about him. When have y’all given specifics about the issues except how to get your democrat hands in our pockets again.
McCain/Palin in ‘08
Amazing. Joe Biden is so appalled by the Republican candidates focussing on the other guy. Seems to me, the quote of Harry Truman is the perfect historical example to cite to explain what Biden’s opponents are doing right now — and why he is so upset. It’s ironic that he’s try to use it against them, and oh so sweet, too.
Good for Bidden. As a long time, and frustrated Republican, I watched the conventions praying for some redeeming points that would keep me voting with the party I’ve been with all my life. Unfortunately, all I saw from the GOP was negativity, NO new ideas, Biogaphies, and more of the fear mongering that has been their staple since 9/11. I may be pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, and pro-gun rights . . but that’s not enough to keep me with the GOP any more.
I am part of that middle class the Biden was talking about. And Obama’s numbers do add up. The GOP mocked how he would be able to cut taxes for 95% of Americans and still pay for the programs he wants to do. Well it’s actually really simple. When last I heard the statistic it was that 10% of Americas population had 90% of the wealth. My wife and I combined make about $100,000 give or take a $1000. Under Obama, I’ll get a tax cut. Under McCain, well, if he passes his “health care” plans, my taxes are going to go up. WHY? Because part of his plan is to make employer provided health insurance benefits TAXABLE! My employer provided family insurance is valued at about $15,000. Under his plan, that would be considered income, and thus, taxable. Great! Way to go McCain! Take a family, barely keeping its head above water with all the inflation, and tax them some more! At the end of every month, I barely the $25 that put into a college savings account for our three kids college. And with McCain’s plans, with the extra taxes that’ll make, I won’t even have that money.
All other things considered, KEEP your hand out of my pocket McCain!!!!!!!!!!!
Forget McCain! I’m crossing party lines and voting for Obama. And after the election, I’m switching parties.
Here is the REAL reason why McCain chose Palin. He has no shame… Check it out, it’s a pretty unique perspective from a religious point of view - surprising.
http://www.newsflavor.com/Opinions/McCain-Hijacks-Christianity-Via-Palin.240929
As a doc, my federal + state taxes will increase from 40.3% (2007 actual) to 55% under Obama.
Mr. Obama, I have a modest proposal for you. Take the top 5% of workers, round them up in a pen, and harvest all of their organs - pancreas, kidneys, liver, corneas, lungs, etc - for distribution to the lower 95% of wage-earners. This will tremendously alleviate a huge amount of suffering of people waiting for organ transplants. Moreover, any leftover organs can be sold on international markets to help fund free health care for the 95% of lower wage-earners. It is clearly the greatest good for the greatest number of people and highly utilitarian. A sacrifice by the top 5% will result in a tremendous amount of good for the remaining 95%.
Clueless Joe Biden obviously wasn’t paying attention. Either that or he’s lying on purpose. We heard the candidates and the major speakers talk about the economy, taxes, health care, energy, education and more.
I’m middle class and I didn’t feel the least bit ignored.
The 40 million people who tuned in to the RNC know Joe is clueless.
WOW LOOKS LIKE BIDEN STILL USES EVERYONES WORDS HUH.
COPY CAT LEAVE TRUMAN OUT OF THIS YOU JOKE.
Sarah Palin represent middle class Americans and they can relate to her. You are part of the Washington establishment, live in a very pricey compound, and vote your own agenda and salary. Your senate experience as chair of a committee does not require you to create reform. All you do is ask questions, challenge anyone outside of the Washington establishment, and ride a train to and from work. In your 2 previous attempts to run for the highest office in the land, you failed miserably. Obama selected you to provide a safety net. He says he is a new kind of leader, yet he flinches when the going gets tough. Obama is an elitist and when I talk with folks in middle America on my street and in my neighborhood- they say in private they will not vote for Obama. Nobody talks about this on the record, but one of the real reasons for this is due to one of our senses called vision.
Biden, on the RNC convention: “The silence of the Republican party was deafening. It was deafening on jobs, on health care, on environment, on all the things that matter, on the neighborhoods I grew up in.”
Jobs, health care, environment, all the things that matter? I could have sworn I heard Sen. McCain cover these issues in his acceptance speech. Maybe Joe had a liquid dinner that night …
Sarah Palin, and her family are the middle class, get over it Biden.
Try another line.
McCann/Palin 08.
Tell me what Joe would know about the middle class. He lives in one of the more exclusive areas of Delaware, drives a Mercedes, has a ton of money. Middle class, I don’t think so.
As an non-party-affiliated observer of these politics it is funny that Biden is doing exactly what he is accusing the Republicans of doing - not talking with any substance about issues, only pointing out something about ‘the other guys’. Same with Obama for that matter. And when he speaks about the last 8 years, why have they, Biden, Obama and all the Democrats for that matter, not done more as ‘leaders in the senate’ to make a change, especially in the last two years when they have had control of both houses? They had 100% control of the nation’s purse strings and voted to spend, spend and then spend some more. The war they so despise - they voted to fund! Want to try to be like Gandhi, act like him and stand up in the face of all opposition and say no! They seem to not grasp that our President really has such little actual power - what a bunch of bright folks who put our country together! 8^)
I think that both parties are rife with greed and slime, but to accuse the other so profusely is sad. And his comments about not hearing anything about the middle class? Why would Sarah Palin have to talk about it because she is it!?! Yeah, she and her husband have probably made the move up financially since she has been governor, but to make sure we quote the Democrat attacks on her record - she has only been there 20 months - their reason for claiming no experience - except she has all the middle class experience in the world before that, no? But, if she would have said anything about that, they would have tried to turn it on her as saying, “See! She doesn’t have the experience to be an upper class, millionaire leader!”
And, Mr. Biden says it is not the world he lives in? Well, very few people do live in the millionaire world of Biden, McCain, Obama and Clinton and the rest of the long time Washington crowd. Biden - take a trip to the Anacostia section of the Washington, DC, (where you make your very healthy living from) - or hit the streets in North Philly - not the gentrified regions mind you, but those that are still struggling so mightily - and talk about life and the world ‘you see’ to those people. Do you think they see the same thing you do? White, millionaire, senator living a privileged life on the government bill, or single minority female, maybe married, maybe not, kids in failing schools that you as a senator have not fixed in the last 30 years and for she the most part seeing work and a decent living moving further and further away (and many times also on the government bill - but the wrong end). Joe Biden, Barack Obama, John McCain, Hillary Clinton - anyone in Washington for that matter - do you see them and do you see that world? Yes, from a great distance and as a bargaining chip!
I am all for realism - neither party does a good job of expressing it, only going negative to fire up their base, but to be perfectly honest, Sarah Palin is the closest thing we have had to an ‘average American’ for a long, long time. I do not think she is perfect, nor do I expect any politician to be, but we can have better than what we have in Washington now.
I feel an obligation to honesty and truth to share with you some facts.
My Father and Mother instilled in me the values and morals of treating
people fairly and always being honest. If you purchase something, you pay
for it. If you borrow something, you give it back.
I have been ’stiffed’ three times in my 30 year professional career by
someone who I rendered services to, gave a finished product to, but who
refused to pay for those services even though they acknowledged the services
and products were correct, were what they asked for, and were never
challenged for not being correct. I am lucky in having only three, but
those three hurt badly.
Joe Biden was one of those people. I worked on his 1988 Presidential
campaign financial disclosure engagement. I busted it for him and got
everything right. He stiffed me for over $15,000 worth of work. He refused
to pay once he dropped out of the race. I did similar Capitol Hill campaign
financial disclosure work for Bob Dole, Pat Buchanan, and a Democratic
candidate for Ambassador to New Zealand. All of those folks paid even
though they lost the election or did not get the appointment. That type of
work is very demanding and very tedious because your efforts are scrutinized
by Congress. Biden did not care.
I am on the Board of Directors of a company that owns a majority position in
a private jet management company in Northern Virginia. They manage jets for
businesses and rich folks. They also charter planes to the public. This
past winter John Thompson chartered over $250,000 worth of air time. He
paid every penny. Joe Biden, in his latest unsuccessful run for President,
chartered over $150,000 worth of air time. He PAID ZERO. He continues to
refuse to pay stating his race is over and he is out of money. He never
once complained about his flights. Joe Biden is a rich man. He could pay.
Joe Biden is a liar and a cheat. I know it first hand. Character is what
life is all about. Joe Biden is a man of bad character and sets a bad
example for America. I feel compelled to share this dark side of a man who
asks for your vote and trust.

I agree wholeheartedly with Biden.
The conservatives in my community are being screwed by corporate America. The CEOs don’t live in my little town. Actually, the CEO of the corporation that left down and terminated 700 jobs in our community of 3300 actually yachts around the globe and has no connection what-so-ever with the values or traditions of my little town.
All they ever want to do is suck all the money out of the community. They don’t care about community, they don’t care about religion — they care only about their own wealth.
I’m sorry, but the GOP is bought lock-stock & barrel by corporate america. McCain’s rhetoric is hollow. He has no program to right the ship.
You tell ‘em, Joe! We’re tired of the Republicans’ fear and smear tactics!
We’re mad as Hell and we aren’t going to take it anymore!
If Americans elect McCain and this woman it shows that we are the stupidest people on the planet
The base of the Republican Party is jsut that. Base.
Biden is either a total idiot or a liar. America has the SECOND HIGHEST business tax rates on the planet, and he and Barry Soetero want to raise them. The middle class automatically benefits when businesses can afford to hire them.
If these two jokers win and successfully pull of their tax scheme, watch businesses rush to get out of the country.
I am middle class. The GOP has not forgotten me. What is Biden talking about? Both parties have equally contributed to the problems that the middle class is experiencing. This includes the middle class themselves.
Silly, biased article.
Biden is a nice guy, but he is a hollow puppet. Joe Biden in an interview on one of the morning shows after the Palin juggernaut expressed some professional admiration for some of her “zingers” directed mostly at Mr. Obama.
“I thought ‘Whoa,’ ” Mr. Biden said. “They’re good, funny lines, but I’m glad they’re not about me.”
You got to love the fact that he cannot even hide that he is a consumate Washington politician trying to dodge a bullet. What the hell let the number one on the ticket take the bullet!
Biden’s “glad they’re not about me” mentality to the “zinger’s” says two things about the Democratic ticket: one, the zingers must have an enormous amount of gravity to them that the Democratic VP pick would verbally acknowledge that he was not the one that the zinger was hitting; two, it goes to show that he cannot even take a political bullet zinger for the team from the opposition and he probably will not be able to take a political bullet from the Democrats either.
This two points are valid in analysis which parties Presidential team is ready to fight for change in Washington. Which ever one wins is going to have to battle both parties and be ready to lay down the zinger gauntlet and be able to take a political bullet for the sake of the country, not for themselves or for their party, as Biden has done here! The humorous aspect of Biden’s comment turns to sadness, as you might expect someone of his experience and hopefully his judgment would take a stand with a stronger backbone, but this is not the case. Obama has problems now…1) McCain-Palin and 2) Biden-Biden!
Why should the GOP talk about the middle class? Are we not ALL Americans with equal rite to vote?
Biden left little to say. When you’ve annihiliated the economy, squandered billions, (trillions perhaps) on an unnecessary and useless war in Iraq, refused to talk specifics on health care, social security, the economy, or anything else more stirring than war stories and the adventures of a hockey mom, I guess the only thing left, as Biden said, is to trash talk the opposition.
Could this be why Gov. Palin is so conspicuously absent from the Sunday morning line-up? Not even on a Fox love fest! Could Rick Davis and her handlers be afraid that she, and they, might take some “hell” if she had to give extemporaneous answers rather than deliver from a script?
As noted by Mark Silva of The Swamp (http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/09/sarah_palin_awol_from_sunday_c.html) — McCain campaign manager Rick Davis has indicated that they aren’t “in any hurry to slot Palin for a Sunday show appearance,” Frederick notes, “and will do so only if he and other strategists determine it serves the ticket’s purposes, not because some may view it as a required initiation for a major political player.”
Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Davis said, “I’d never commit to anything in the future. … Our strategy is in our hands, not the media’s. We’re going to do what’s in our best interests to try to win the election. If we think going on TV news shows are [sic] in our best interests, we’ll do it. If we don’t, we won’t.”
So, maybe putting Sarah Palin out there in public where she has to answer questions from a reporter, as opposed to running circles around a fast-reeling TelePrompTer, isn’t in McCain’s “best interests?”—
Could it be that the campaign feels that it would be too elitist for her to be seen on any of those shows? Of course, they’re only watched by people with enough discretion and good sense to turn off the cartoons and take a world interest; not the type the Rovians pander to.
So I hope that Senators Biden and Obama take it too ‘em. Make Gov Palin tell us her plan for making this a better country when (God forbid) that last heart beat thrusts her into a position of being more than a Hockey Mom. Make her explain how her executive experience in a state with a population smaller than most cities in the lower forty-eight prepares her for the world stage and, not just a better community organizer than someone else. Let her say “Thanks, but no thanks” one more time by returning the bridge money that’s reportedly still in the Alaskan coffers. Make her explain where the access road that she built to the bridge to nowhere now goes. Have her tell us how just how much and how soon we’ll reduce our dependence on foreign oil by letting her “drill baby, drill.” Give her the opportunity to tell us all how her ability to field dress a moose makes our children’s lives better.
All Biden has to do is start talking and usually he ends up giving himself hell…… Looking forward to the debates!!!!
Poor Joe Biden!! He is Obama’s running mate, therefore there to build up his boss and tear down the other side, however, Joe can’t cover his respect and admiration for Sarah Palin. He is between a rock and a hard place. It is hard on Joe because he is used to saying what is on his mind but, now, he has to try to conceal how much he admires Palin. It is hard biting your tongue, isn’t it, Joe?
Thank God for an actual God-loving patriotic American that underdstands that our Government is God’s greatest blessing to this earth - not the problem. Enough idiots!
Give ‘em hell, Joe!
SENATOR JOE BIDEN IS VERY VERY WASHINGTON INSIDER AND IS A BIG JOKE! I AM A MIDDLE CLASS AMERICAN AND NEVER FEEL ANYTHING AFFECTED BY ECONOMY! I AM DIGUSTED WITH BIDEN TAKE MANY THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT OF MIDDLE CLASS IN TRUTH WAYS. I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR DEMOCRAT PARTY ALSO HATE NANCY PEPOLOI FOR HER FAILED LEADERSHIP IN CONGRESS!!!!
Yes, that was really an interesting speech. Watch it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=955Y3NJTRIE
We seem to have two good orators as VPs - The debates will be interesting
Obama proved himself the phony that he really is when he chose that ‘hack’ Biden for a running mate. Joe Biden wouldn’t know the ‘middle class’ if he tripped over them!
People take the time to think and look at the real facts of this election:
1) Republican party has driven our country and our economy into the ground, yet big oil and large corporations have had record profits. Do you think it bothers a multimillionaire he has to pay more at the gas pump or for food? No! Get real and look at the facts.
2) McCain has voted 90% of the time the party line, for Bush’s agenda why if the oil companies help bring him back from failure in this election would he suddenly turn on them if elected. Check the facts don’t by their Carl Rove based lies.
3) Bush has systematically changed the shape of our court system to a conservative radically right court. If Republicans are elected again Roe v Wade will be history, your civil rights will be history.
5) Republicans have taken your right to privacy and thrown it in the trash. If you want more government interference then vote Republican.
It is easy to look up the facts and see the truth. Don’t let the politicians and the politically invested news agencies convince you through their manipulation of the truth. Remember the weapons of mass distruction that weren’t! If not for you do it for your children they will have to pay for you not looking at the facts and chosing a president on rhetoric.
Joe here’s a news flash for you. Sarah is the middle class. Your the business eletiest.
The dems are terrified of this woman, and should be !!
What can one say that will demonstrate any more clearly the mental vacancy this gas bag and the empty suit he’s running with bring to their ticket than by simply printing his verbal farts?

I think you may be the one who is confused. You’re correct the US does have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world BUT the effective taxes paid by most of those corporations is nowhere near the ~35%. You must be familiar with the term loophole (s)….
And no trickle down economics is not an effectively proven strategy for enhancing the position of the middle class. Certainly a strong economy is good but it can’t be achieved by only give tax breaks for the people at the top.
And just so you know Barack Obama has considered slashing corporate tax rates as well as other measures to get the US economy growing again….
Perhaps you need a more informed opinion from this nice article on Forbes website.

Gee Joe, I didn’t hear any outrage from you when the DNC ignored the voters from Florida and Michigan. Weren’t many of them in the ‘middle class’? You and the DNC leadership are all power hungry, hypocrites.
And you are about to get exactly what you deserve…
“It was deafening on jobs, on health care, on environment, on all the things that matter, on the neighborhoods I grew up in. Deafening.”
I grew up in a working class neighborhood in Philadelphia and to the best of my knowledge… the hard working people I knew and the conversations I heard around me never … revolved around the environment. As we know in this day and age it is an important issue but JOE… give us a break!
I really don’t remember that health care was an issue at that time either… JOBS have always been the topic of politicians.but it really bothers me that people will try to associate themselves with a certain demographic to suck up some VOTES!!! I hear everyday about how one or the other doesn’t explain their PLAN for the middle class… the middle class has changed so since BIDEN was growing up that he needs to realize that now the past “middle class” falls into POVERTY LEVELS!!! What are you people going to do for the worker that lives paycheck to paycheck??? Not all of us VOTERS make $250,000 a yaer OBAMA!!! Thats where you two will lose this election… it shows you only care about winning, which is rather amusing because everyone wants to win… thats the name of the game. The problem OBAMA-BIDEN have is that they have become the CANDIDATES THAT ARE OUT OF TOUCH! yOU PANDER TO THAT PRESENT MIDDLE CLASS AND FORGET THE REST OF THE POPULATION… LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE SECRET… WE VOTE TOO!!!
I’m sorry - Obama and Biden have no idea what the middle class is. They want to tax people making $250,000 and more. Do they really think that a person in NYC, LA, Boston or any other major city making $250,000 a year is upper class. They have no clue what middle class is. I am amazed that I don’t hear more about that. Prices of housing is still high, gas is still high, cost of living is high - and Obama and Biden want to tax us more? I’m sorry - I am not buying it and I think more people need to speak out about this!
dick and W didn’t have the nuts to show up at the RNC because of a shameful 8 yrs. Fox backed these douch##bags the entire time. Now Fox backs popeye and olive oil.Really?Do you really despise the liberals enough to sacrifice common sense?Really?Than you inherently have a hateful/disillusioned soul.
Neocons will have a rough eight years ahead.Protect the fetus and bomb the child-neocon mentality.WTF?Really?
As a side note to this middle class yada yada. In Spokane several years ago a company named Kaiser Aluminum had two plants in the area. Union workers went on strike and demanded what they were asking for…. unfortunately the guy who bought Kaiser had no interest in negitiating with people who wouldn’t compromise. So, he closed all of Kaiser’s operations. Thousands of people in Spokane who were making 25-30 dollars an hour, now make about 9 to 10 dollars an hour.
Thank God for unions.. huh.
I would love to have one of those Kaiser jobs as I am feeling pretty broke at the moment, but there gone.
Biden and Barrack want companies to pay outragous amounts of taxes… Companies can just say no and leave the US or shut down completely.
Boeing workers.. don’t get yourself in to such a frenzy that you forget that it can all go away in a matter of weeks and a lot of people out there will tell you it ain’t good looking for work right now.
Good luck creating jobs and raising taxes B & B.
Alan
Rick Steiner, a professor at the University of Alaska, has this to say about Palin’s record on the environment:
PALIN’S RECORD ON THE ENVIRONMENT IS ABYSMAL
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/377955_palinenvir07.html
Mr. Biden would have us believe that the Democrats are going to help the middle class. Is that a joke or what? Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama would take the money and give it to poor illegal immigrants, poor welfare people (who know how to use the system), poor people that want to stay poor because it is easier to live a life of ease than to go out an earn an honest dollar.
I have worked in a school that was 98% hispanic. The Democrats argue that these people work hard for only the barest of salaries. Well, guess what, Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama, what need do these people have for higher wages? At the school I worked at the kids were given free meals, free clothes, free medical care, free dental care (including xray, cavity fillings, cleaning, pulling), donated Christmas parents, 6th grade students a trip to Disneyland. And while they are getting all the freebies from us,the middle class, they are dropping their kids off at school in SUV’s. Well, I have to take part of the drop students off because anytime the illegals think there may be a raid most of the students stayed home. I guess they had that virus called deportation.
So, in case you don’t know, Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama, who paid for all of this. I will share a bit of information for you The middle class that you say you are trying to protect!!!! I think people like you, Mr. Biden and you Mr. Obama, and you Hollywood celebrities who have tons of tax benefits and money, who have lived in the upper middle class, who have lived far enough away from illegals so they don’t effect you, all of you don’t have a clue as to what the middle class has to support because none of you are middle class.
No socialism for me because I can tell you from experience, it is extremely abused and misused.
Joe is right on! I watched the entirety of both conventions and while the Democrats offered specific plans and addressed important issues over and over again the Republicans offered nothing but personal biographies and hate filled LIES about the Democrats. There were NO specifics offered by them, they avoided the issues entirely because they don’t want to remind everyone that they agree, by and large, with the way Bush has been doing things and intend to carry on in the same vein. No one calling themselves a Republican this year deserves any votes period after what they have done to this country over the last 8 years. If you’re conservative, vote for the Libertarians, at least they have a little integrity.
Whoa!!! Joe now wants to be a Truman wannabe. The last time I heard, he said that Obama is not yet ready for Presidency.
With Obama aka Bob the Buider “Yes We Can” and Gov. Deval Patrick’s clone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M6×1H08aFc
They really complement each other to become the Milli Vanilli of Politics.
To Sarah Palin’s basher: the reason she is not accepting interviews right now is because she hasn’t finished eating her waffles LOL
To all of the Obama Supporters who claim that their candidate will be better than McCain/Palin - where is your evidence? Where is your proof? Where is his record? Just show us his executive experience, or his major legilations, or his bipartisanship, or his history of successfully completing large projects, or his ability to deliver on what he promises. Where is the validation that he keeps his promises, such as his promise to use Public funds for the general election? McCain has an actual verifiable history of keeping his promises. He has a history of reform and major legislation. He has a history of bipartisanship. On the major issues of our time, such as actually solving the situation in Iraq, he is the architect of our success. You say that you want improvement, but Obama has a much liklier probability of failure than George Bush had in 2000.
The fact is, you are reactionary. You hate George Bush to the core of your soul, a burning firebrand that sears your psyche every day. You are voting for Obama because he says that he is the anti-Bush. But what you are actually voting for is dangerous inexperience, and the same polar blank check authority (with a strongly democratic congress and Obama) that led to the excesses you accuse George Bush of. Giving Obama the presidency with a democratic congress is like giving a child an M16 with the safety off.
Here’s one for you Joe Biden, who was ignoring the middle class when President Clinton signed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)? That’s right President Clinton and the Democratically controlled congress that included a “yes” vote from Senator Biden in 1993. Senator Biden is nothing more than a hypocrite on trade.
The truth is that Mccain voted with Bush 35% of the time. There were 31 important issues and Mccain voted with Bush 14 of those times
Re Bruce Riddle’s “Joe Biden is a liar” comments;
Your comments on Joe Biden on a Fox News Blog are reprehensible!
First, because there’s no forum for defending what might be the Whole Truth to what you allege.
Second, because the average person reading this might be just gullible to believe it.
If it were true, you obviously are somewhat powerless as a CPA to not have the wherewithal to seek legal retribution in this alleged matter.
Those who think Palin is a God sent messenger to save us all from taxes, corruption, and going to hell need to read the following letter written by an Alaskan who knows her.

Hey MO!
You Dumb A@#! Biden is one of those rich people you don’t like. Get on the net and take a look at his house and where he lives. His only job has been politics. That translates into he is getting rich on YOU!
Go ahead and vote for him but then please shut up and suck on your toe. It is stupid people like you that screw this country up. You go to the poles and vote and don’t even have a clue what your voting for. Please move to another country.
I have been a supporter of Joe Biden since the 1980’s. This is an example why.
Give me a break people you judge Joe Biden, by what? Sarah Palin has been on the national seen for over a week and praising her name when honestly you do not even no her, the country does not even know her, your just caught up in all the hype. Democrats know more about economics then the Republicans, why else would John McCain say the economy is sound. Say what you want about Biden, but he has more experience then John McCain by more then a decade.
McCain is just another extension of George Bush who rather than represent the American people represented American corporations. They both believe in cutting taxes of businesses while businesses pay less and less taxes each year.

We need statesmen who represent the American people. Corporations already have the lobbyists. Many of these corporations pay no taxes. Joe Biden can relate to the American people. The middle class is being assaulted by these conservative types who want to privatize everything and put everything under the control of these corporations. Our economy is a mess. Republicans criticize the government whenever it is to their advantage but claim to be country first. I got news for them, when you support corporations over the American citizen you are not putting your country first. Not that all corporations are bad but when you don’t have proper control over the corporations then you are spelling disaster for our Constitution. Corporations do not have the public good at heart. Their legal obligations are soley to shareholders. Obama wants to give tax breaks to companies that keep jobs here. Over the last 8 years we have seen what the Republicans have done with jobs. It’s time to vote in the ticket that thinks Americans first. That is putting your country first and it isn’t going to happen by voting for John McCain.
Sarah Palin is another Dick Cheney, avoiding the media. Sarah won’t talk to the press, why because she can’t. Palin need someone to write words for her and does not want her background out. At one time I did respect John Mccain, no more he will lie and cheat to get in office, picking Palin just showed me it would be 4 yr more of Mccain as Bush and Palin as Cheney. Different faces but more of the same, I guess that’s the change Mccain is talking about.
I would not have voted for Mccain before the Palin pick but i did still respect him, that pick took that away. When he loses the election and he will, he will have also lost respect from many Americans.
I would like for Obama and Biden try to explain why taxing business and so called rich people is gonna fix the economy? Economics 101 here people.
Vet For Sen McCain and Gov Palin
It’s postings like ‘moe’s’ and L. Schulze who make this country look like idiots. Biden is a ‘hack’. Ok, so… are you going to back that up? Do you have anything useful or intelligent to make claims to that statement? He’s a business elitist? Really? I thought he was a politician, like everyone else in this campaign.
And do you even know why are you even for Palin? Do you know where she stands on most of the important issues regarding our country? What national or international experience can justify her candidacy? Oh and if I hear that she lives close to Russia or was commander of the National Guard - which, by the way, only means she commands their actions WITHIN Alaska - then I’ll truly believe that Republicans have lost all signs of having a shred of intelligence.
Why do people keep calling Sara Palin middle class? She went from being a mayor to being a governor. Governors of states are well paid and probably live in some sort of governor’s house which is probably a lot bigger than a “middle class” house.
I suppose I will have to be the one who explains the economy to Barack Obama and Joe Biden. The unemployment problem in the U.S. is a result of NAFTA and high taxes on business income. It has become 1000% more benificial for businesses (Look at the auto ind
