I’m a bit concerned with the McCain/Palin energy policy (especially in regard to drilling in the ANWR). Lets be real here. A slip of the tongue on both sides of this partisan wall we have is one thing. Playing with semantics to mislead the American people is quite another. Palin asserted that Obama had not sponsored a single “major” piece of legislation in his time in the Senate on both the state and federal level. This is simply not true unless you redefine the word major.

Actually, after watching the convention for 2 nights, I am considering voting Democratic or Libertarian in the election. Where is the “maverick” McCain. We have been trying to move the party from the religious right, and thought McCain was our man. Apparently he’s not. Biden sounds more and more reasonable, and so does Obama. Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air both in politics in general and in the Republican party. She is down to earth and a problem solver. She has my vote for sure.

Why does everyone thinks that because McCain chose a woman for a running mate, he was trying to appeal to Hillary supporters, why? My take on this is that he could have picked anybody but he was looking for someone who is a conservative that matches his and the Republican Party ideals. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it’s guaranteed in the Constitution. God also gave us Freewill to make our own choices. If the Democrats did not choose to nominate a woman for VP, that was their choice. The Republicans did, and in my opinion, a very capable one with strong family values and belief in God.
