Obama Camp’s Prebuttle to Bush Speech

The Obama campaign is doing its best to make George Bush the star of the Republican convention. They began airing an ad on national cable networks linking John McCain to the unpopular president, and have already issued a response to Mr. Bush’s yet-to-be-delivered speech tonight.

From Obama campaign manager David Plouffe:

“Tonight, George Bush enthusiastically passed the torch to the man who’s earned it by voting with him 90% of the time, and who will continue this President’s legacy for the next four years – his disastrous economic policies, his foreign policy that hasn’t made us safer, and his misguided war in Iraq that’s costing us $10 billion a month.  The man George Bush needs may be John McCain, but the change America needs is Barack Obama.”

Why does Obama’s camp have Palin’s social security number as reported on Politico?

Umm… “prebuttal.” At least spell-check your headlines.

MY POSTBUTTLE:

If it is change (as the Obamanites continue to pander) we are looking for, than change is what we expect. Stating “he (McCain) is Bush” over and over just goes to show the ineptitude and lack of intellectual thinking that the NObama campaign is fixated on. Rather than compare yourself (NObama) to the Republican VP nominee, compare yourself to McCain. Obviously this is a sore subject since the Lunacrates have yet to put forth any meaningful accomplishments of their nonexecutive-volunteer to those of McCain. Why is it so important for the Lunacrates to only mention Sarah Palin’s mayoral accomplishments when she is still serving as the Governor of Alaska? She is the change that America wants. She and her family are the epitome of the REAL American family. THEY are facing the same problems as everyday Americans. The addition of the Palin TEAM to the republican ticket is the change we need, want, and will vote for in November. REAL AMERICAN FAMILY with REAL AMERICAN HEART.

ha! a little premature. just like Obama’s premature crowning. unfortunately, they are probably right on the money. With this Palin fiasco… I’m voting Barr or staying home. I can’t risk a 72 year old being backed up by someone so green. I am 73 - I know how hard it is to keep all systems go - with the stress presidency - palin could be president within a year.

I can understand why Senator Obama would like to keep pushing the relationship between Senator McCain and President Bush in an attempt to defeat him for the Office of The President. It would put the democrats in office and smear President Bush as a part of the defeat. I believe, from what I have read, that these are the goals and objectives of “The Shadow Democratic Party” formed by multi-billionaire George Soros. I have read that he has pledged all his billions to the defeat of George Bush and the Republican Party and has bought and paid for this to be done. I have read that He met with Senator Obama, prior to Senator Obamas creating an exploratory committee for the Presidency. I am led to understand that in that meeting he said he would support Obama. I don’t profess to have all the investigative resources that the print and main stream media has available. Nor the billions being paid out to suppress even a hint of this Shadow Party. I can understand that if the American people were to get the impression that the Office of the Presidency, and the democratic Congress, were bought and paid for by a Socialist as well know as George Soros how they might be upset. I can even understand how TITLE 18–CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE,PART I–CRIMES,CHAPTER 115–TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES,Sec. 2385. Advocating overthrow of Government; might cause the media to have some concern in their involvement.

Barack Obama will continue to make the case that George W.Bush and John McCain are joined politically at the hip. If the American people are convinced that McCain is a continuation of Bush, Obama will likely be the next president.

Comment by Kathy

90% of the time, the issues voted on were voted on as unanimous by all. All except Obama that is, because he only voted that he was present. Doesn’t seem like he would be able to make any decisions that will face him. It’s better to be for something than to sit back and let everyone else make the votes as Obama did 95 out of 100 times. McCain is the right man for the right job. Obama is a puppet for the democrats.
All of the candidates will be for ‘change’. Only McCain & Palin will stand up for our rights and the rights of ALL the people on both sides of the parties. They are what the country needs…a breath of fresh air! We need them to clean house…the White House!!!!

obama’s argument of conjoining maccain with bush is getting tiresome. the rnc should conjoin obama with rev. wright and other of his anti-american cohorts to emphasize his questionable ability to put our country first. then they should quote both him and his wife verbatim on what they think of our country before they were handed the political power they now enjoy. that will be an interesting reading. the rnc is the only entity which could do this because the media is plainly too enamored with obama to expose him.

“’OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW’…It’s time for something NEW and that’s PRESIDENT OBAMA.

I say McCain is experienced, you turn that around and say he’s “old” or “old Washington.” Ok, fine. But Palin is plenty new, and with more executive experience than Obama. The responsibilites of the President are a lot more akin to those of any other governmental exectutive (governor, mayor) than those of a senator. And oh yeah right, Obama/Biden ‘08 AND ‘12…that’s not at all premature or anything.

“With this Palin fiasco… I’m voting Barr or staying home. I can’t risk a 72 year old being backed up by someone so green. I am 73 - I know how hard it is to keep all systems go - with the stress presidency - palin could be president within a year.”

I would point out the same thing - Palin is hardly less experienced than Obama, at least in terms of experience that actually matters.

Thanks.

The real Democrat Joe to Obama Democrats, and don;t you forget it!!!
My friends, before I conclude, I want to ask the indulgence of all of you here in this hall tonight, because I want to speak directly to my fellow Democrats and independents who are watching or listening tonight. I want to — I want to speak directly to you out there.

I know many of you are angry and frustrated by our government and our politics today, and for good reason. You may be thinking of voting for John McCain, but you’re not sure yet. Some of you may never have voted for a Republican before. And, frankly, in an ordinary election, you probably never would.

But I want you to believe with me that this is no ordinary election, because…

(APPLAUSE)

And it’s no ordinary election because these are not ordinary times. And trust me: John McCain is no ordinary candidate.

(APPLAUSE)

You may not agree with John McCain on every issue, but you can always count on him to be straight with you about where he stands and to stand for what he thinks is right for our country, regardless of the politics.

I can tell you with a certain faith that as president you can count on John McCain to be what he is naturally, a restless reformer who will clean up Washington and get our government working again for all of the American people.

(APPLAUSE)

So, tonight, I want to ask you, whether you are an independent, a Reagan Democrat, a Clinton Democrat, or just a plain-old Democrat, this year, when you vote for president, vote for the person you believe is best for our country, not for the party you happen to belong to.

(APPLAUSE)

I ask those of you who are watching or listening, vote for the leader who, since the age of 17, when he first raised his hand and took an oath to defend and protect our Constitution, has always put America first.

My friends…

(APPLAUSE)

… I appeal to independents, Democrats, and Republicans. Let’s come together this November to make a great American patriot, John McCain, our next great president.

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you. God bless you, and God bless America.

Obama still does not get it he is not running against George Bush he is running against John McCain.
A truly wise person listens to what another has to say first and then responds. If Obama could only learn this he might not have to keep back peddling on every statement he makes. Wait he would then have to have a position he was willing to go on the record with and that would be fatal to his campaign.

Sorry I cannot vote for CHANGE INTO A FOG OF UNCERTAINTY and from Obama and all his pretty speeches an policy’s in PDF format that you can get on his web site that is all I get. Puff and fluff no substance.

I will vote McCain, Palin

See you in November.

@Destinee

You’re argument is that the attendees were old? That’s the argument against the Republican ticket? Do you think the Obama campaign should change their slogan to, “Hey! We’re young!” That has to be one of the most mis-guided, short-sighted, un-informed comments on a political event I have ever heard.

Comment by Joe

Since David Plouffe is the campaign manager with the executive experience………maybe he should run for president.

Comment by pete

The President does not have a vote in Congress so I’m not sure how McCain voted with the President 90% of the time. As another poster pointed out close to 90% of the votes in the Senate are unanimous. In Obama’s 146 working days in the Senate he never once bucked the special interests of his party or backers. He has voted with his party every step of the way making him the most liberal Senator during his time according to all independent watch dog groups. Even Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden the ultimate party Democrats can’t match the politics as usual of Obama when it comes to their voting records.

Comment by K

I find it hilarious that the Obama supporter two posts above me wishes to remark on President Bush’s speech being “more like a sentence with a few jokes” yet he/she has completely incorrect grammar and punctuation throughout the entire post.

In order for true change to happen you need the experience, intelligence, and drive to have yourself heard in Washington. Obama lacks two of those three, despite his speech writers greatest efforts. Obama would need, as his own VP pick declared, “on the job training”.

Comment by GrammieJ

I will try a comment again. Fox/McCain newcast do not ever print mine, but at least I get a chance to vent.
The Rep. were so very lucky that they only found time for the President of the United States to have about 5 minutes of speaking time. What a joke, Laura Bush has had more speaking time than the President. Maybe she should run!!!!!
Better still, McCain should have picked Laura Bush as running mate, now that ticket I would look to for leadership in our country.

Comment by chuck

Will someone tell the Obama camp the Bush is not eligible to run for a third term. If the knew this, they would not be campaigning againg against Bush.

Obama camp is running scared. Can’t think of anything truthful that would disqualify McCain or Palin as leaders of our country so they must resort to fabrications.

Lets go positive in campaigning. This will be quite a challenge for Obama we know. How about if Obama/Biden list (honestly) their qualifications and the dem platform and McCain/Palin do the same. Will there even be a contest? I think not.

Lets do the same with supporters. Let Obama/Biden supporters list what they think their candidates qualifications are and what they say they will do for the people and our country and McCain/Palin supporters list their candidates qualifications what they know they will do for the country and people.

We know this will extremely one-sided; the direction to be defined as to whether one is patriot or traitor.

Comment by Gabriel

Destinee you are so correct about Obama, bring in the new! He has positively shown that he can take a new stance on a monthly basis. How about we praise his new campaign of disguised old attacks. I love even more his new credentials of senator.

I would love the new stance we can take for a person who was snorting coke while attacking Gov. Palin’s husband who, at the same time, got a DUI. Obama is a great speaker, amazing orator, but if we would have followed his views we would have lost the war in Iraq. Obama has already made a political stance in the senate to oppose, natural gas, clean coal, nuclear energy, and American independence on oil. It’s nice that his new stance sounds better this time. Its all refreshing that Obama has thrown out all his primary stances and embarrassed everything that Hillary Clinton ran for.

This guy seems like he would be a great person for the presidency and like no other person before him can bank on his success via extreme partisanship. That my friends is running on the backs of something NEW! Let it be remembered that unlike during a political campaign, there is no do overs as President.

Comment by A. Holman

How is it that McCain voted with President Bush 90% of the time? Apparently Senator Obama doesn’t realize that a Senator and a President do not vote together. His ad is very misleading and in fact would go as far to say it’s a big fat lie! A Senator would support something and then the President would sign it or veto it; how is that they are voting for the same thing? Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say that President Bush sided with McCain 90% of the time? Wouldn’t it also be accurate to say that many democrat Senators may have the same record? If people would do some of their own research they may be suprised to know that McCain has frequently voted different than the republican party. Google it…..see for yourself! This smooth talker from Illinois loves to say it the way he interprets it; he is assuming that we are not smart enough to check it out ourselves!

Comment by Nathan

Obama needs to find a new set of talking points. This argument is so old. What about the twenty years John McCain was in the Senate before GW was around, what about his accomplishments then? McCain basically designed the surge that has worked in Iraq, anybody see yesterday that Al-Anbar was turned over to Iraqi control, oh of course nobody would report on that HISTORIC fact. Obama should spend less time talking about a President that won’t be around in three months and more time actually challenging John McCain’s record, something that Obama is intellectually incapable of doing. I have several friends that are democrats that have had enough of this linkage, and same old comparison, a few of them will be voting for John McCain. Wise up Obama.

Comment by connie

Destinee I would much rather have old and experienced than young and dumb as the

Comment by L

I am going to start standing up for President Bush. the Dems are trying their hardest to put president bush down and never give him credit for the fact that he kept our economy out of a recession after 9/11 (i worked in investment banking at the time and we all thought we were doomed after the attacks). The housing market was booming like never before and i bet you people who had houses worth more then they should have, or sold for much more then they should have, never said a bad word about president bush at the time.

the bubble had to burst and when it did presidnet bush got blamed for that (even though its the nature of economics). we still havent hit a recession, in fact the economy is growing, just at a slower rate, which is better for everybody becuase the next bubble is just around the corner so things should be slower until then.

So if Mccain has voted in line with his party then i dont see what the big deal is. Congress have been refusing to help rebuild this economy by not pushing through bills that could have helped with the oil prices etc., so i am blaming the Dems in congress, not president bush.

If Obama’s voting record is so strong against McCain’s, how come they have not shown us Obama’s votes side by side with McCain’s? Let’s see how they voted. While in the Illinois state government, how did Obama vote? Let’s see the itemized votes. How many times did he vote present, instead of a yea or ney? If I remember correctly, aproximately 160 times. Way to take a stance one an issue Obama. I hope, god forbid, that if Obama becomes President, what’s he going to do when he doesn’t have the experience or character to make a proper decision? Vote present? He’s good at that.

obama’s rant about “change”?–he chose as his vp a fossilized washington politician. palin is somebody from small town america. she, first hand, knows the immediate issues that affect common people and will be the one who will do something about them. it’s amusing how obama turns his back on small town america when most of his caucus votes came from small states. his m.o. is to marginalize small town america and trivialize a woman’s accomplishment. an elitist and sexist bunch. he is so small that he is matching up against palin instead of mccain. funny thing is, palin emerged bigger than he is. they minimize her by saying she is only the mayor of a small town neglecting the fact that she is also the gov. of the biggest state in the u.s.a. , while he brags about running his campaign as his executive qualification. now, how pathetic is that?-i bet she can even beat him one on one in basketball, although they again say that she is just a beauty queen. how sexist is that? it really is a bit– to be a woman when men are bit–ier than women themselves. palin is from small town–but as one immortal man from a small town said—government of the people, by the people, and for the people. and that is what just our country needs. mccain ‘08!!!!

Well said Kathy:

But present is not a US Senate voting process, but NOT VOTING is and Obama voted that 48% of the time because he was to busy campaigning as a WANNABE President. The other thing is that Obama voted with PRESIDENT BUSH the same 90% of the time that McCain did if he was there. Also how could Obama vote present when he was on the campaign trail for 2 of the 3.5 years he was elected to represent IL, what kind of representation is that for your STATE.

I am an Independent Voter.

After listening to the intelligence-insulting speeches of the GOP, repeating over and over and over the same old fear and smear campaign rhetoric, I am compelled to abandon the Republican Party.

They have evolved into a group of radicals who have used and abused the words of the Bible and our American Flag for their own political gain.

This is unacceptable to me.

I am sick and tired of fear and smear politics!!

I have finally made my decision and I don’t care if they trot Bin Laden out of a cave two days before the election and Russia parks a tank in front of every news camera team they can find 24 hours before that!

Until the Republican Party comes to represent more than the lock-step rhetoric of fear and smear politics, I cannot vote for their candidates.

Humm..what has Obama done?

How about: Obama VOTED YES FORBill HR5011 listed below:…….McCain VOTED NO.

1) Proposed Bill HR5011: Vote to pass a bill that would provide $10.62 billion in appropriations for military infrastructure improvement, construction, and other purposes for fiscal year 2003.

Highlights:
- $5.6 billion for military construction, including $1.1 billion for barracks, $159.3 million for chemical weapons demilitarization, $136.8 million for hospital and medical facilities, $25.7 million for child development centers, and $168 million for the NATO Security Investment Program

- $4.2 billion for family housing, including $2.9 billion for operating and maintaining existing units and $1.3 billion for new units

- $645 million for base realignment and closure

2) Barack Obama, May 24, 2007: US Senator (D-IL), cosponsored the “Ballot Integrity Act of 2007″ (S.1487), a bill “To amend the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to require an individual, durable, voter-verified paper record under title III of such Act, and for other purposes”: “TITLE II-BALLOT INTEGRITY:Sec. 201. Promoting accuracy, integrity, and security through individual, durable, voter-verified paper records.
Sec. 202. Requirement for mandatory manual audits.”

3) Barack Obama, Jan 8, 2008: “In 1998, Obama joined forces with former US Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned most gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.”

4) Stood for the new MGiBill….Whereas McCain voted NO…until he was pressured to make his party look good. Sad..all the hypocrasy.

Now————–It is YOUR TURN. Tell me what good McCain has done. Tell Me what Palin has done…the governor of LESS people than is in the democratic campaign……NO Foreign expereince…..of any kind, deceived the public with a blanket over her daughters pregnant belly, but touts abstinance only. McCain, humm lets see. Cheats on his wife for SEVERAL years. That means going out and Fu^king other people and then going in to his wife’s room each night and sleeping with her. Talk about Character.
Hey people..hey middle class people. VOTE ON THE ISSUES. RESEARCH THEIR VOTING RECORDS. VOTE FOR OUR COUNTRY. VOTE FOR YOURSELVES AND YOUR FAMILIES. Stop letting their manipulation soap operas divide us! Stop making the middle class loog IGNORANT and VOTE ON THE ISSUES. STAND UP! It isnt about liberal or republican. left or right. Can you really trust your son or daughter in a chaotic world where war is possible with McCAIN Palin? Will you be comfortable with that? Choose Peace not WAR. Choose Intelligence over ignorance. Choose inclusiveness over deviseness. Choose a world that includes all. Oh yes, I am so ready for change… Lets all elect a president with no Armed Forces experience, no governing experience and one who has complete dis-respect for the present Commander. Always respect those in authority. A lot of people were giving McCain a hard time, they didn’t think he “did enough” in the military. At Least he was a member. He knows how it works! I think that the pick by McCaine for VP was genius.
Sarah really will bring solid family values back.
I believe that she has more experience in runing government than Obama. Trying to say that she has no experiense does not hold water. Alaska is the biggist state in the union. She has had to fight to change what was happening in that state just like McCain and she will fght to make changes in the next 4 years. So if the consern is having sombody with experience if somthing happens I would certainly rather have Sarah at the helm than Joe Biden who wants more of the same big government with more programs that he an Obama want to put in place. lets look at a flat tax not more taxes on icome and on Social security.
Also trying to tie McCain to Bush is way out in left field. He is his own man. Look at his record and quit miss quoting it. The American people who are well educated do not buy into this hype.
I would recommend that you all read “Real Change” by Nuite Ginrich (sp) There are many ideas that need to be looked at to bring about change.

There is NO difference between Bush and McCain. Quite farnkly, America and the world has had enough of the guy who should never have been selected president in the first place. I have never seen a guy screw up so many things as Junior.

He did not divide the party he is one of the most positive candidate we have seen in decades nor was Hillary both wanted to win for the country. it is a shame when people like us need to push the media to reveal Biden’s son Hunter lobbyist and special interest ties since 2001. This is the “change” Obama’s judgment called for? Well what you expect when his judgments include his “moral” compass board, Wright. Ayers,Moss,Biden and so on…

and these days he (Hunter) represents nine clients, including five universities and two biotechnology firms, Senate records show.

The law firm he co-founded, Oldaker Biden & Belair, was paid $1.8 million to lobby Congress in the first half of this year

But the connections between the law firm and Biden are very close.

For instance, William Oldaker, another named partner and former general counsel at the Federal Election Commission, has been Sen. Biden’s campaign treasurer for Congress.

Oldaker has advised Biden on campaign issues, first during the Senator’s failed 1988 presidential bid. And while Oldaker has said he does not lobby Biden personally, he has spoken with Biden’s staff about some clients.

Wow and Obama talked about Hillary being obsessed, lol It seems like the good ole boys network is desperate McCain has gone against Bush more times than timid Obama has. McCain stood on principles not on party lines more times than Obama, McCain went against the popular vote , more times than Obama, McCain has turned away special interests and lobbyists more times than Obama has, Obama voted 97% with the democrat party so he better be careful this trick could backfire after all his past hasn’t been attacked like Palin’s and we all know some of it terror ties, hate groups, racists people yep Obama is the Messiah to some but just another dirty Chicago politician to most.

PREBUTTLE????? REBUTTAL, is the work if you didn’t know. If you’re going to attempt a shot at sarcasm and irony, at least learn how to spell. It’s morning, set down the beer and cover some real news.
