Obama Surrogate Questions Palin’s Creds

At a rally in Dublin, Ohio, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown took the microphone prior to Senators Obama and Biden. During his brief introductory remarks, Ohio’s junior senator mentioned new-to-the-national-scene GOP candidate, Sarah Palin.

The crowd predictably booed. “Think about this,” Brown said. “Barack Obama, John McCain have each had one major task of their judgment. John McCain chose someone who was a mayor of a town of 7,000 people, then was elected governor, has been governor of a state for 18 months — governor of a state that’s half the population of Franklin County,” he said incredulously. “And yet she’s gonna be a heartbeat away from the president?”

Someone on the crowd of 18,000 yelled out, “No way!” Brown replied, “No way is right! Now on the other hand, in his first exercise of good judgment, Barack Obama chose Joe Biden.” **

Meanwhile, Obama has not mentioned Palin by name - or referenced McCain’s veep pick at all - at any campaign event, only answering questions about Palin from reporters. Today he alluded to the GOPer for the first time at the Dublin rally.  “After 19 months of traversing this country, traveling to every state except Alaska, which now that I think about it…” Obama began his stump speech. As the crowd laughed, he added, “I’m gonna have to go up there now.”

Obama later told reporters that Palin “seems to have a wonderful engaging personality” and that her election to the governorship “shows she’s got real political skills.” That said, Obama accused her of subscribing to the same policies as John McCain. “I don’t get a sense that the addition of this vice presidential choice is gonna change the fact that he wants to take the country in the wrong direction,” he said, treading the fine line between complimenting and attacking the GOP’s history-making candidate.

While Republicans counter Palin has more executive experience than either Obama or Biden, the Democratic nominee encouraged reporters to compare Biden’s experience with Palin’s. “I feel confident about my choice,” he said.

The debate, no doubt, will continue.

**In case you were curious, according to the 2006 census, 670,053 people live in Alaska, while 853,476 reside in Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.

One chose a capable person to be 2nd in command. she has the same
experience ” as the other sides candidate. He chose a man who likes to embelish everything, and hasn’t done much of anything.

I’m thrilled Sarah Palin is not a lawyer and not a self-serving Washington insider. GO SARAH!

I question democrats making a big issue of Palin’s experience. By pointing out the experience of the candidate on the bottom half of the ticket doesnt it backfire by due to the fact that the democrats actual presidential nominee has zero executive experience and no real foreign policy experience himself. Palin is more qualified than the actual democratic nominee. She has run a goverment and been on commissions where she actually ATTENDED meetings. I dont think NoBama can claim that.

If Hillary’s supporters cross-over and are willing to spit with the Democratic party and vote for McCain because he chose Palin, then John McCain and his election staff are even more impressive than Carl Rove. They are allowing their vote to be taken by a single, insignificant issue. GENDER.
John McCain’s choice of Palin as his VP demonstrated to me that he is obviously out of touch. Considering the dynamic and fluid situations in America and in the world at large, we cannot trust McCain’s instinct and judgment to take America in the right direction.
This is additional proof of why we can never let the far right conservatives of this party to ever take control. The ridiculous 1 issue block voters in the conservative movement are blinded by righteousness, out of touch, counterproductive and dangerous!

John just showed how dismissive he is towards women. He thinks they are stupid. He could have picked Hutchinson, but no he picked the beauty queen after meeting her twice. No one with good judgement makes that type of decision. As a republican woman, he lost my vote.

Comment by sam stevens

That’s some vetting process McCain has–one meeting and two phone calls and she’s in! This isn’t even about Palin, it’s about McCain’s awful judgment. If he’s trying to prove he’s a maverick by selecting a woman running mate, that’s really his way of saying woman don’t deserve the position unless a man who is willing to take a chance picks them. He obviously bypassed a lot of women who have better credentials.

I’m so upset by the disrespect that Obama and Biden have shown Ms. Clinton. I will never vote Democrat again.

Comment by DM

Obviously the Obamaniacs want to show the US their feelings about little towns with bitter, religious people with guns in their hands. Moreover the whole Demo party is showing its low opinion of women and its believe that they are not qualified to be leaders, except to fight for abortion and homosexual marriages. In many ways how they cleaned the floor with perhaps their best qualified woman, Hillary, shows that the macho establishment still call the shots in that party. They may be color blind but when it comes to gender they are still living in the stone age. Keep the faith and let us hope that in the next 50,000 years they manage to recognize that women have a brain similar or better than many men and also leadership qualities.

We’re sorry that’s the only thing the Obama campaign has got on Palin. Seriously how can the they even discuss inexperience? They want to elect someone with less experience for the Presidency. Inexperience is done with, stop talking about it.

Comment by David (USAF WX)

The only expierance Obama seems to have is helping some workers when a steel plant closed, somewhere…I cant really remember…oh yeah in the Southside of Chicago. That is getting really tired.

Comment by Janet

They are saying she has little experience and will be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Obama has little experience and wants to be president. If he does win, lets make sure the speech writers and teleprompters go every where with him. So they man learned to be a great speaker. Now EVERYTHING he says is historic. Oh please.

Comment by eric b

Palin is just as qualified as Obama if not more so.

She has served as a mayor, although a small town it was still executive experience. Obama served as a state legislator in Illinois, with no major legislative accomplishments. Obama has no executive experience. Advantage Palin

She served on the commission overlseeing the Oil & Gas industry in Alaska, what is Obama’s experience with the Oil & Gas industry. Advantage Palin

She served successfully for nearly two years as the governor of Alaska, Obama has served as a US Senator for nearly four years. Again executive experience trumps legislative experience. Advantage Palin.

Overall I think the only reason people favor Obama’s experience is he is a man and she is woman. The same sexists that kept down Hillary are trying to hold down Palin, and by that I mean the media and the Democrats.

Comment by joe

Yes, and Obama choose to go “old politics” not change! I would question the remarks form Sherrod Brown as being a sexist .If you look at the experience of the candidate he supports based on experience alone he had no reason to make such a remark. I guess if she were a white or black man form Alaska with the same experience and fit the stereotypical image it would be a smart choice in his mind?!

This is pretty simple. Try to keep up. Listen carefully:
If we’re going to have “on the job training” then I’d rather it be for the VP rather than the President.
It’s that simple. Try to comprehend.

Comment by Bobby D

Isn’t it just like the liberals, it’s wrong to be one heartbeat away from the presidency without experience if you are Republican, but it is okay to be President without a lick of experience if you are liberal Democrat. There’s something wrong with this picture. But again we are talking about the Chosen One (Obama). He said he is a different kind of politician, ha ha ha ha. He said that the world hates America, ha ha ha ha. He is an opportunist that went to Germany during a free concert and told the world that ” we are the ones we have been waiting for”. He said America needs to change, but won’t tell you jack asses what the changes need to be. He said America should set the example and get rid of her nuclear weapons ( Is this one of the changes he is talking about). This is like telling all the good people of the world to get rid of your hand guns so the bad guys can come and rob you, then you can call the police and make a report of it. He said some issues of importance is above his pay grade but at the same time said he is qualified to lead a country like America. This man needs to go back to Chicago and study what he went to school for and leave the job of presidency to people that knows how to govern. It would be nice to have all the people who vote for him in November pay the taxes that he wants to increase and all the people who vote for McCain pay less taxes and enjoy all the tax cuts that went into effect under George Bush’s tax cuts. Then we can truly seperate the jackasses from the intelligence, but again this is just to darn sensible for the average American to get a grip on. Oh yeah the Chosen One wants you to vote for him in November, well go ahead don’t let me stop you.

McCain is nothing but a liar like Bush. He wants to drill in Anwar not because he thinks it will lower gas prices, it’s so he satisfies his Big Oil companys that sponsor his campaign. He opposes getting rid of tax breaks for the big oil companies that have had nothing but record profits. And has brought in over a million dollars for his campaign from Big Oil. Who knows what other motives he has. It seems that Bush/Cheney had a fixation on Oil and now McCain as well. Do you know what gas prices were before Bush was elected? $1.80 a gallon. Are you guys even paying attention here? Bush is an oil man. Halliburton ring a bell? We attack Iraq why? Oil. Where does McCain want to stay for 100 years? Iraq. Now McCain selects the governor of the biggest oil state in the country? Do you have to have it slap you right in the face, before you see what’s going on? If McCain is elected things will only get worse. He’s in on this Oil scam along with Bush. It’s seems pretty obvious to me. All we will see if we drill in Anwar are the same prices we have now and if it even does make a dent eventually it will a decade or so from now. Obama has agreed to leave drilling on the table, but at least he has the honest enough and sense enough to know that alone will not solve our Energy problem. And if it doesn’t solve the problem, why take the risk of having it cause even more problems to our ecosystem? Do we really want to drill off the coast of Florida? How many Hurricanes go through there every year? Sounds like a huge disaster waiting to happen to me.

Obama only picked Biden because Biden is a Roman Catholic. Obama figured that since he is Pro-Choice, he needed someone who was Catholic to represent Pro-Life and to get the Catholic vote. According to Catholics Come Home.org website, Roughly about 25% of the people in the United States are Catholic. However, Pelosi had to open her mouth and, as usual, garbage came out of her mouth regarding her view of when conception begins. Even Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver put Biden in his place regarding his Pro-Choice stand on abortion.

John McCain is the gift that keeps on giving to the Democrats. They are absolutely right about her having no experience. Plus has several kids and one less than a year old with down syndrome. She seems like a great women, just not the person to be the second most powerful person in the world. The election is over.

And to think that LIBERAL women who voted for Clinton are all just going to jump ship? Those women feel insulted that you would think they would go for such a political stunt like this. Unbelievable to think that Romney was not chosen with his economic experience. We want a real leader with real experience, not a PTA member.

Conservatives, Liberals please tell me in list fashion the requirements to run for President and Vice-President. It seems to me that in a government of, for and by the people, the constitutional requirements should suffice. If not, let me know. Do you have to be a Lawyer, Economist, Businessperson? Is it vital that a candidate run a government agency?
Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are the American dream. The Presidency is not an individual institution. It takes a good team to achieve effective governance. I will always evaluate a candidate on the characteristics that truly matter. . .Integrety, Leadership, Vision, prior actions.

After watching the DNC the only thing that was missing was used cars. Because all the salesman were there. I have never heard so many lies and misrepresentations. It was like a brain washing cult. The DNC advertises how unbias they are and will unite all, why are they telling so many lies about each other. One minute they are aganist each other, then they love each other. I feel Sarah Palin is more qualified then Obama of Binden, and is a great choice. The country has already decided Joe Binden is not qualified to run the country, bad choice here Obama. Obama is a great speach giver after many rehersals, however making quick leadership decisions baced on experience, I give him a failing grade. Picking Joe Binden is old politics with no change, still the same old donkey mantality here.

What I really don’t understand is why the Republicans don’t stand up to the Democrats when they say things that are not completely true. For instance, the notion that Senator McCain has voted
90 % of the time with President Bush is a bit misleading and typical political speak. If anyone would take the time to actually check out voting records I think they would find that a lot of that 90 % includes naming Post Offices, congratulating sports figures and teams and other “important” votes like that. Just for once I wish both parties could be 100 % honest.

Comment by MJ Kneiser

I think McCain’s selection of Palin as a running-mate was an absolutely brilliant strategic move and no one in the Democratic Party saw it coming.

That’s evidenced by their response. They’re so stunned all theyh’ve been able to counter with is to question her lack of foregin policy experience. Well duh, their PRESIDENTIAL candidate has no foreign policy experience (unless he’s counting that little media tour around the Middle East and Europe he took last month.)

If Palin had chosen to run for President, I’d have voted for her hands down, no question. She’ll make an outstanding Vice President and first woman President if it ever has to come to that. I only hope that one day, when the time comes, she decides to run for President.

Whatever questions or concerns I had before McCain’s choice of Palin about who to vote for have been laid to rest. I’m voting McCain/Palin.

I’m an independent - always have been, I’m a single professional woman, I’m a conservative. And there are thousands out there just like me who were undecided until McCain announced Palin as his running mate.

McCain’s decision to choose Palin is another example of an experienced politician who knows what it takes to win. Not celebrity and fanfare, just hard work, experience, and dogged determination. Glamour Boy Obama doesn’t have a clue.

Comment by bill

McCain’s selection of Palin shows an incredibly reckless approach to staffing key positions: he had met her for one day before considering her. I don’t care how much of a “natural” she is, that’s poor judgement. How is he going to fill a Cabinet? Clearly, he’s either directly reckless, or he’s not the one making decisions — and we’ve just had 8 years of that.

The Republicans don’t understand the change we need. They talk of “reform.” So far, all she brings to the table is a hope of ending Republican corruption in Washington. That’s what she’s done in Alaska. Great. Why don’t you all get to the convention and commit not to be corrupt? Wouldn’t that be better than forcing a mother of 5 (with a 6-month-old, who needs to still breastfeed) to make you get your acts together?

Please, people. This is serious business. Have some serious solutions, or get out of the way.

DEMOCRATES GOT THIS SO WRONG THIS ELECTION YEAR!
Obama screwed up, just as expected and predicted…

Count how many Obama selected top advisors have been fired from his camp, but ONLY after voters began to discover for themselves where MEDIA, like CNN & MSNBC failed to report the truth and of course the rapid drop in polls, otherwise Rev Wright would still be employed by Obama camp. Next Obama’s selects VP vetting team, Jim Johnson who got the sweetheart deal from countrywide and fired and Caroline Kennedy no experience at all, (payback for Ted Kennedy’s support) who both stupidly ignored the historic candidate who split the primary elections down the middle, won the popular vote, 23 primaries, with 18 million strong supporters, they wrongly pick Biden who got just 9000 votes in primaries and contradicts his change message and the war vote the media helped him use against Hillary that Biden voted for as well? Proof is Biden gained him zero “bounce” in the polls. Infact it underlines his inexperienced to lead and make a decision based on what’s best for the country and not just for him and Michelle.

What would Clinton of added to the ticket? Apparently a WIN. If Clinton were at the top of the ticket, even today polls show she would be leading McCain by 8pts 3 months after ending her campaign. Clinton herself enjoys 87 percent approval ratings among Democrats, Gallup reports three out of four Democrats would like to see her as president and be a major-party spokeswoman over the next four years. Clinton’s supporters lukewarm in their support for Obama mainly because of the sexist way his camp treated Senator and President Bill Clinton. David Axelrod has said often in the past; “Obama doesn’t need her supporters” they vote republican anyway, why are they begging for them now? DNC is shaking in their boots over selection of Palin.
Especially after the historic DNC convention Obama ONLY got an average 2pt bump in polls, when history shows most got 10-15pt bump.

Simply Put: “ Dems showing “BUYERS REMORSE”

Tabloid Cable media especially CNN ( Obama hired help)& MSNBC should be boycotted for frankly putting the security of our great country at risk with an Obama coronation in the bias election opinions nightly. It’s extremely concerning that so many Americans could care less about who their candidate really is?? He’s black, let’s make it happen? Simply amazing and frankly scary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m89m0pC_bpY

Obama has shown this entire season he can be pushed and told exactly what to do just what we can’t have in the White House and remember grandma; he will throw anyone under a buss if it helps politically so; WATCH OUT MICHELLE! Obama, Pelosi and Dean are why we changed our party affiliation to “Independent” When all the benefits are with the Democrats this election; they selected the wrong candidate, who in turn selected the wrong VP candidate by a mile.

I guess neither Palin nor Obama have the experience to be vice president. Fortunately, Obama is only running for president.

They are gonna lose because of the womens vote and they know it. Obama shows poor judgement. When Hillary won the popular vote he snubbed her. If he had been willing to work with her for the common good of the country he might have won. What have men politicians shown us but poor judgement a lot. Affairs, taking money-bribes, and just generally doing as they want when in office instead of what their voters want. They think they know best. The illegal alien issue is a good point to prove that. Crime where I live is getting bad. We are over run and will our govenor do anything? No. Other states try all they can with new laws but not this state. So I think Palin is refreshing. Give her a chance. She is seen to have more experience than Obama and he wants to be president. Go figure. They better watch out how they smear her. It can all come back on them in the voting in November. Give her a chance, let them get their message out while McCain and Palin does the same. Let the voters decide.

As a resident of Ohio I’m offended Sen. Sherrod Brown is referred to as a “surrogate.” If our society practiced common decency and an honest veneration for our political system, something like this would be considered slander.

Is comparing Biden’s experience with that of Palin’s really a wise choice if you’re trying to support the conservative movement? Instead of just comparing current populations of their constituencies, perhaps you should compare the number of people they have represented over the course of their careers?

Comment by James

Everytime the Dems make issue of “Palin’s lack of experience”, the voters will ask themselves… compared to who?… Barack Obama? Which when compared, Palin’s resume is easily far more impressive. Obama supporters seem to have no problem putting a less qualified Obama in the Oval Office, so who’s more reckless?… Obama supporters for wanting to put someone with less executive experience than Palin in the Oval office, or McCain putting Palin in the office down the hallway? Keep it up Dems, your doing the GOP’s work for them LOL!

They are falling headlong into this well conceived trap. I can guarantee Joe “Isuzu” Biden will eventually say something stupid and condescending about Palin. When he does, he’s going to look like the bully big city banker, and Palin will have the opportunity to play the frontier heroine, standing strong in the face of injustice.

This is only going to get better, as I fully expect MeCain to dismantle Obama in debates (assuming Obama doesn’t chicken out); moreover, I can see the debate between VP’s leaving Palin appearing as the unpretentious pervayer of reason, and Joe “Isuzu” Biden looking every bit the arrogant, ostentatious, blow hard politician he actually is.

Senator Sherrod Brown should remember the old adage, “people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!” He doesn’t have a great track record of accomplishing things in Ohio, and I should know considering he’s my Senator. This individual has been surviving off the public tax dollar for his entire career and has never done anything that I can recall as being beneficial to his constiuents. Just another career politician trying to protect his “phoney-baloney job” by supporting a canidate who has no track record of service (like Senator Brown) and has done nothing since being elected to the senate (like Senator Brown)! What is the other old adage about flocking together….

Yes the part this article left out is the downside to Joe Biden. He brought the Violence Against Women Act, 1994. This law provides no support for abused men a statistic that shows men are equally abused in society. This law has caused a plethora of false allegations of domestic violence and falsely placed restraining orders mostly on men. Oh Well…Obama did say that fathers need a kick in the pants for their lack of responsibility… Check my facts at http://www.mediaradar.org

I don’t like Joe Biden…when Iran’s Republican Guard was providing Iraqi insurgents with terroristic style training and powerful IED’s…Bush wanted them classified as a terrorist organization so as to better apply prresuure…Joe Biden was openly against it. His reasoning was that he didn’t believe Bush.

I don’t know about the rest of the country but I can never support a VP choice that would chose to score partisan points over the safety and welfare of our troops in harms way.

I think if the media actually reported how Joe Biden is Teheran’s favorite US senator then maybe everyone else would see him for what he really is. You see Biden was for the division of Iraq and by publicly stating it…Iran picked up on it, and was able to convince many in the region this was the US intent. Iraqi’s do not want to be divided so Bidens declaration was not viewed as a positive aspect…but rather just another reason to oppose our efforts.

I won’t vote democrat this year because it’s one thing to oppose a war…but it’s quite another to undeniably work to undermine our best efforts in executing it.

As successful working Mom, I am appalled at the attempts the Obama Campaign are making to deminish this woman’s accomplishments. Just another Man and his chauvinistic views against women. Obama changed his tune later. I wonder why.

Palin will bring the views/perspective of a woman to the table.

If you REALLY want CHANGE, put a WOMAN in the white house.

Obama’s accomplishments:

Voted Present 154 times
Chaired a foriegn relations committee and never held a single meeting

Yea that’s really thinking outside of the box. Obama would not even by hired as a CEO of any one of our major corporations. The only foundation he was a part of failed.

I don’t think Mrs. Palin has any friends who are known domestic terrorists(Bill Ayers), conviected felon (Tony Rezko), and an America hating Pastor (Rev Wright). Is this the type of cabinet Obama will appoint?

John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin as his VP was a master stroke. The choice between the two parties could not be more clear. Governor Palin will prove to be a fresh, formidible oponent to the Hussain/Biden ticket.

It will be fascinating to watch the left attack her on her “lack of experience” when she has done more, lived her life well and transparently and demonstrated true American values through execution. When compared to Hussain, WOW, what a difference!

Everyone I know is estatic about this choice and it has absolutely energized the party. I’ll bet McCain/Palin contributions have been through the roof since this was announced and rightfuly so.

Comment by HawkTheSlayer

John McCain has been making important political judgments and reforms for decades. McCain’s VP pick is one of hundreds of critical political judgments which include the troop surge that has won stability and victory in Iraq. This is far from his “first judgment” as the Obama distortion machine asserts. I like Sarah Palin and I think she was an excellent choice. With her years of executive government experience on the bottom of the ticket, how can Obama claim that his 1 year of national legislative experience before starting his presidential run is adequate for the TOP of his ticket?

I disagree that Joe Biden, who has been caught plagiarizing others’ work twice, is Obma’s first important decision. He made a decision to launch his political career at the house of Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist who claims to have bombed a variety of government buildings. Obama sought guidance from “God D America” Rev Wright for decades. I know that Obama would like people to THINK that his first judgment was selecting Joe Biden, but his history goes further back. When you are a politician, you live in the public eye and lies cannot obscure facts, as Obama’s friend John Edwards found out recently.

Let them question Palin….but when the smoke clears she has more actual leadership proven accomplishments as an executive than Obama and Biden put together. neither of them have really run or directed anything on their own merits in a program as large as a state government. Proven leadership not simply running for president nor just being a member of the US senate. Seems that Obama and Biden are suggesting if you have not become a washington nsider then you are not qualified for president…..maybe reason why Biden was picked over the other dem governors. So for all which Obama desires to change washington Biden is a pure example of a washington insider. Palin although the need to pursue foreign policy issues would be less in alaska may just stack up as an equal to Obama for his foreign policy background at the time he started to run for president was absolutely zero….and his short trip to the middle east and germany was to give him foreign policy credentials….absolutely not!!! Palin is more qualified than both Bidan and Obama put together.

As a woman, I vote on the issues, not on a candidate’s gender.

Although it appears Gov Palin expressers herself well (thus far she has repeated the exact same comments since her introduction on both occasions and was booed the second time when mentioning Sen. Clinton), I do not share her political views.

It is natural for the republicans to pump her up as a saving grace of the ticket, but when the American people can see the comparisons between the Democrats and the Republicans, they will be able to see and make a decision of where they want this nation to go at the voting booth.

In comparing the VP picks, I believe Sen. Biden is the most experienced candidate. He impresses me with his intellect, knowledge, insight, strength and demeanor.

I can not believe anyone in Obamanation would question the experience of the republicans #2 who has held an elected office 5 years longer than their number one. Not to mention she has actually had to work as a governor for the 2 years she has been in office not just say she is a senator while running for president. I mean lets be for real here who is really the one who doesn’t have to the experience or qualifications to be president. I think Nobama is just jealous.

Compare and contrast the lives and experience of Governor Sarah Palin and Barak Obama.
1. Governing Accomplishments: Govenor Sarah Palin has more governing experience and has acutal accomplishments while serving in government than Obama can ever claim.
Obama has written books about himself but never actually sponsored any bills during any of his brief stints in government.
Govenor Sarah Palin has, for her entire career in government provided concrete accomplishments, i.e. lower property taxes in her town. Turning down $400M for the “bridge to no where”
2. Earning Her Own Way: Obama and his wife have been handed their lives thanks to affirmative action and the help of the very wealthy left and the Chicago Political Machine.
Sarah has been to busy actually leading a middle class life . Sarah has earned her own way with her husband. She has run a business, rasied children, bought her own home.
3. Agent for Change: Obama is part of the corrupt Chicago Political machine business as usual. Sarah Palin fought against the political machine of her own party to end corruption at every level.
4. Foreign Policy Experience: Neither have any. O.K. So Obama actually took a trip and made some speeches.
5. Order on the Ticket: Obama has no accomplishments or experience but the dems choose him for the top of the ticket. McCain chose her to be the second in command.

I would rather have a woman with her level of experience than Obama’s with his.

So please expalin why Sarah Palin is the best choice for the GOP #2. If her selection means that she could court the embittered fraction on Clinton supporters; what does that say about McCain’s “lose an election statement? Does McCain care what he proposes to leave us with if he doesn’t live to become 76? No!

Palin ADMITTED that 2 weeks ago she didn’t know what the Vice-Presidents duties entailed. She may be a fast learner; but dizzamm….how much of a price would WE pay for her on the job training if the Senile Senator doesn’t live thru the first term? Harp on Obama’s experience if you will; but understand that he has read the decsription of the job he is running for.

I’m sure the GOP is full of people who share the views of Sarah Palin that KNOW what a Vice-President does. I’m not sure that they happen to be young females. This is PANDERING to the highest degree. Dan Quayle would have been a better choice. At least he knew what the job entailed.

Women Put in Their Place, Again ?

On Aug. 26, 2008, the 88th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving Women the right to vote, Hillary Rodham Clinton will address America to explain why she and the rest of the women in America have allowed themselves to be put back in their place as third class citizens behind White men and now Black men. It is so disappointing to see women rolling over on their backs and doing as they were told, as if their Foremothers had not spent the past few thousand years suffering and struggling to be acknowledged as equals instead of the property of men ,to be used and abused and told what to do and think and say. What a shame it is that on the Anniversary of one of Women’s` greatest achievements Hillary Clinton will be personally giving up all that has been gained and admitting defeat once again. How sad that women have allowed themselves to be put back in their place and told what to do by Obama, Howard Dean and the DNC, and the media, then tricked into using such an important anniversary to admit defeat and pledge their allegiance to their new Master. It is such a disgrace to see the women of today selling out their Foremothers and their achievements so easily just to put another Male democrat in the White House, without realizing that when “United” they actually hold enough power to control this election and put a woman in the White House instead of another man. The women of today have rolled over so easily when they were told to, that I find it hard to understand if it was because they really enjoy being third class citizens behind the white man and now the Black man, or were they just not smart enough or brave enough to do as there foremothers before them and band together and stand up for themselves and what is rightfully theirs. The women of today have stood by and allowed the men of their party to push aside Hillary Clinton to make room for their chosen one, another man .How pathetic you have become, allowing the men of the DNC to put you back in your place on such an important night. I guess Hillary has been ordered to use that night to try to convince you that you should be happy and celebrating in the knowledge that you are lucky that your foremothers did all of the hard work so you can stand by and watch it ripped from a woman`s grasp at the last minute, but it is okay” because it was just not your time but it will be someday soon if you stand aside and let another Man have it for the next four to eight years”. You should be happy that they even allow you the right to vote, instead of complaining about how you were tricked out of your rights and told who you can vote for, as long as it is not a woman. ” You have come a long way baby”, then stepped aside as you were told to do so all of the men can get back in the front of the line, leaving you in the back of the line where you belong. Shame on you for rolling over once again! Regardless of Political Party or Race , you all lose.

I guess the Obama campaign thinks the general public is stupid. Obama has spent 143 days in the senate office, never been mayor or governor of anything, and he’s more qualified for president than Palin is for vice-president? Drink your kool-aid, Sherrod Brown. You’ve done nothing positive for our state (Ohio) or our country in your current position. I’ve checked your record thoroughly, being a lifelong Ohio resident myself.

THIS BREAKING NEWS JUST IN:

Obama set a new Democrat record and performed two miracles in front of million.

Obama set a new Democrat record and performed one miracle by turning millions of Democrats into Republicans, in a year in which the Republicans could only win if Hell froze over.

Oh, that was the second miracle,Obama froze Hell.

Sarah Palin has more executive experience than any of the candidates, including McCain. While Obama has three years in the Senate, he has spent two of those years campaigning. Palin went from activist to Mayor to Governor and is very popular because of her pit bull attitude and strength and willingness to take on the top dogs and win.
Palin was the best choice McCain could have made and has the Democrats shaking in their boots and scratching their heads at the same time trying to figure out what to do.
Palin is getting most of us HIllary supporters simply because of the way Obama ond the male dominated democrat party treated Hillary and her female supporters.
The Democrat party leaders and the media chose Obama over Hillary, and that decision will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Obama was not electable and we told them that from day one but they would not listen to us voters because the thought they were smarter than us . We showed them that we are smarter than them by taking this election out of their hands and putting it back into the hands of the voters.

Wen you pick some one to run has you’re v p and that some one says. you are not ready to lead and your opponent is . Is the beginning of bad choice and the lack of experience. And now Biden praises obama that is just hypocrite. Eventually all they want is just win. But no interest of working for the American people.

well at least McCain and Biden agree; obama not ready to lead, McCain is.

To all Hillary Clinton supporters don’t stay home. Go and vote. And vote for McCain this is the only way to send a massage to the democratic party. Respect the women in the party.

Polls show that the most important issue to voters is the economy. McCain admits that the economy is his weak area, so I thought he would choose someone who was strong on economic issues. A republican publication in Alaska VoiceOfThetimes.net calls the Palin Administration “redneck socialism” and says “Alaska could have a very limited economic future.” - August 18,2008 Is anyone going to address this major concern?

Comment by ALLEN

Obama picked a running mate that the party indicated in the primaries they did not want to be president. It says to me that maybe the republicans were right when they suggested Obama isnot in touch with the electorate or maybe just displaying questionable judgement.

Comment by Tom Frisbie

I don’t know anything about Palin. But I do trust the advisers who chose to offer her background as suitable for consideration amongst the others chosen to be added to the list.

My greater concern is with Joe Biden and the VAWA act. What a horrible thing was set into motion when it was enacted. The original intent and need was there, no doubt. But marking the men as the wrong-doers is so terribly unjust and wrong.
The act has set into motion so much abuse it may never be straightened out again. Domestic Violence is not gender specific by any means. As many men suffer at the hands of the woman in their lives as do the women in the man’s lives.
If you want to do justice to the American citizen, then expose the VAWA for what it REALLY is. Ask Joe Biden how many shelters there are for men to go to if needed in this country? Ask Joe Biden how much money is earmarked for men in their need? Ask Joe Biden how much money is spent on women’s victim programs?
Ask Joe Biden about 3 Billion to “zip”? And those figures do not begin to touch abortion.
Thanks,
Tom

For those who say Sarah Palin who, they should write down Obama’s RESUME’, then write Governor Sarah Palin’s RESUME’ and compare…

Now, do I remember Barack Obama having less experience than Sarah Palin? And what about the quality of the experience? Do I remember Obama having less time “working” as a senator than Palin has as a working governor.. Not to include working as a mayor..

Mayors and governors have to work with a budget. Do senators?
Mayors and governors have to manage people in a working office. Do senators?
Mayors and governors have to answer directly to the people. Do senators?

By the way, How long has Senator Barack Obama actually work as a senator? How many Months?

Joe Beiden received less than 9,000 votes in the Democrat Primary. Now there’s a real vote of confidence! Sarah Palin in all about change and has the record to prove it. She took office and immediately set about to remove corruption and reform the government of Alaska. For this, she has received an approval rating of 80%. Neither Obama or Beiden has done anything to top her credentials.

A junior senator (Brown) making fun of someone who has more executive experience than the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party!!! Is it whining or jealousy! I have decided my community involvement has given me enough experience to become president so I’m running next election! Bad taste! Obama seems to think his lack of experience is enough for him to go into the White House and she would assume that role only if something happens to McCain. Poor us, we don’t have to wait a heartbeat if Obama is elected!

Comment by Robert Foster

My opinion of Sarah Palin is Her past actions in Alaska indicate she, if placed in the situation, would resembele Margaret Thatcher. Far and above Hillary or the wimp Obama. Sarah would fight for the U.S. and save the constitution, Rather than destroy it llike Hillary and Barak, both Socialists who want to destroy the country.

Comment by Vivian

At least, Palin will not over shadow McCain. It’s just hard for me to believe that the inexperience is on top of the ticket.

Comment by chuck

God forgive the ignorant for they know not what they do.

Palin has better qualifications and more credibility than the combination of Obama and Biden. It’s hard to believe there are (maybe were) American citizens (maybe traitors) who are willing to trash the greatest nation on earth. Do we have that many left hand lucky smoking junkies who don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground?
If you want socialism or Marxism or communism, move to China or Russia or some other country where you can experience the kind of life you apparently prefer over freedom and constitutional rights. You have to be some kind of traitor to think about subjecting the patriots of this nation to such barbarianism

Comment by Michael Myers

What about Obama credentials? What if something happens to Biden who is going to be there and coach him? If they are going after are VP then why are we not going after Biden after all he is only like 7 years younger than McCain?

Vets for McCain

Comment by Bill had no foreign experience either

The Democrats elected President Bill Clinton, governor of Arkansas, who had no foreign policy experience. Thus, the Dems argument about Palin’s lack of foreign experience falls completely flat. Palin has been an elected official longer than Obama, and she has ran a town, and a state, and she has successfully reformed government, taking on members of her own political party. What has Obama had to do except read teleprompters and get good house deals from Rezko?

Comment by del

Palin is truly a sad choice for VP. I don’t think that the Obama camp needs to say anything about it. The issues of her lack of readiness to be president based on her education background. She said ’she hasn’t really paid any attention to what’s going on in Iraq. I’ver already read about her being stretched to be Governor of Alaska. If that’s a stretch, forget about handling the VP role. Overall this is a bad decision. Maybe McCain will get her to step down after the convention so that he can pick Lieberman and no one can stop him. Even so this reflects poor judgement and is a bad choice by McCain.
