Biden Gets Back To His Roots In First Post-Nomination Event

DENVER, CO — Joe Biden says literally. A lot.

He literally said “literally” 6 times in 30 seconds while addressing Pennsylvania’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention at the Denver Marriott and Tech Center this morning, telling them “literally, literally not figuratively, the future of the nation – now think of this, I mean this in a literal sense, the future of this country. Because what happens in the next 4 years or 8 years is literally, literally going to determine the direction of this country for a generation.” Literally.

What’s more, a week after his ticket mate Barack Obama apologized for using the word “hell” in a speech, Biden unapologetically dropped three H-bombs in his remarks

The audience, however, loved every word from their native son and the newly minted Democratic Vice Presidential nominee. Biden was born and raised in Scranton, PA, and his Delaware home is just minutes from the Pennsylvania border.

Biden ever said he may not have his current gig if not for Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. “Ed started on Barack Obama, and anyone who would listen about picking me as Vice President,” he told the crowd. “I called him a couple of times and said Ed, this is not something I’m looking for. He said it’s something you’re going to get.”

“Well Ed, this is all your fault,” Biden said to applause.

While the party’s VP nominee said he was still getting used to saying “Obama-Biden,” he argued it’s a pretty perfect pairing. “This isn’t about me. It’s not about how do you fit Obama and Biden together. It’s a natural fit,” he said.

Quoting his populist announcement speech from his first senate run, Biden joked “Barack Obama could have made that speech were he alive in 1972.” Obama was, of course, 11 years old at the time.

The crowd laughed, but Biden intimated that he was pretty tired of the age comparisons. “If I hear one more time he was 11 years old when I went to the senate, I’m going to smack somebody,” he quipped.

But Biden was serious when he talked about how important the state of Pennsylvania is to the Democrats’ chances. “You are going to be the ones who are going to determine whether or not this world gets turned around. Because Ladies and gentlemen, it is not hyperbole. We can not win without winning Pennsylvania. It is that simple,” he said.

“We’re going to devote an inordinate amount of resources, hundreds of permanent staff, significant office openings. Tou’re going to have all the resources this campaign has available to us. That’s the good news,” Biden said.

“The bad news: you’re going to have a whole hell of a lot of me, because I’m coming home.”

They’re smart enough to target PA, but the audio of the “clinging to guns and bibles with antipathy to those not like them” is going to get played DAY AND NIGHT in Pennsylvania until the election.

Comment by Biden is all right?

Biden is so sneaky and he used dirty trick that is typical politician. He is in Congress too long!! How can he understand us ? He never worked in the company or he never experienced any military.
Obama Bin Biden are both big fat joke! They both never experience in the war. Think about all the past Democrats and Republicans President or VPs, they all experienced in the military!!

HOW CAN THEY RUN AMERICA IN THIS CRUCIAL TIME? ROSSIA AND GEORGIA, ISRAEL AND PALESTINA. NORTH KOREA AND AISA. AFGAN AND IRAQ.???

It almost impossible to trust and led them lead this country!! How can naive Obama with no experience be a commander and chief? That doesn’t work for us!!

Bush did what he can do to protect our nation after September 11. What would Demo have done in the same situation? Do they talk to Osama Bin Liden ? Yes, you are great!
You are so ignorance. There are evil in this earth. Obama has and had connection to Terrorists.

NOBAMA! NO OBAMA BIN BIDEN!

lol. Wonder if Biden mentioned his other son. you know Hunter? The big lobbyist for 2 major drug companies or how proud he was when his son consulted for the credit card companies to make it harder for people to file bankruptcy? or how while his son was consulting and lobbying Biden was pushing bills for him… Just wondering if he will say how proud he is of himself, his sons and brother…

(The Politico) The L.A. Times is just popped a big story the Obama-Biden folks don’t want to be reading the night the Delaware senator introduces himself to the nation: a potential conflict of interest involving Biden and one of the nation’s biggest asbestos litigation law firms — which also happens to be his top contributor.

The report seems to provide fuel to Obama supporters enraged Illinois senator picked a running mate with such deep ties to the D.C. cash-politics-lobbying world.

“When Joe Biden’s brother and son wanted to buy a hedge fund company two years ago, they turned for financing to a law firm that had lobbied the Delaware senator’s office on an important piece of business in Congress — and in fact had just benefited from his vote.

In addition to providing financing for the hedge fund deal, SimmonsCooper picked the law firm of another of Biden’s sons, Beau, to work with it on dozens of asbestos cases in Delaware. “It was only natural that we worked with my friend Beau Biden and his firm,” said Jeffrey Cooper, longtime former managing partner of SimmonsCooper.

And SimmonsCooper employees have donated about $200,000 to Biden’s campaign efforts since 2001, making the firm his No. 1 donor. All told, SimmonsCooper employees provided much more money to Biden than to any other senator during that period.”

Biden seems to be a decent person who has consistently worked for the good of his fellow citizens … how unfortunate that he has hooked his wagon to Obama’s. Obama is a fraud and an egotistical idiot. He showed up on stage last night acting like he was some kind of a Hero. He couldn’t even let his running mate have his time in the spot light. The media has made Obama out to be some sort of a Messiah who is here to unit this country and save the world … get real. Obama has a past that shows his lack of respect for the law and his association with Rezko is very telling. Rezko had all of the Illinois politicians in his back pocket and Obama was no exception (which is very evident in the aid he provided to Obama in purchase of his 2million dollar home). The media has favored Obama and has down played his association with Rezko and tried to smooth over his 20 year connection with one of the most radical racist (Rev Wright) people in Chicago. I hope all the “ObamaBots” come to their senses and look “behind the curtain” before they go to the polls in November. While the nomination of a Black man in this country is historical and should be celebrated, it’s sad that the black man isn’t someone of decency and good character. So … good luck Mr Biden, sure hope you don’t regret hooking up with “King Obama”.

IF I COULD ASK OBAMA A QUESTION

I WOULD ASK, “HOW DOES IT FEEL TO

HAVE A WORLD CLASS DORK AS YOUR

RUNNING MATE?”

here is one for you bitter typical folks. Obama stands on high ground saying how he will not have lobbyists on his staff nor special interest groups but picks one of the biggest connections to both for running mate.

Lotito’s lawsuit alleges that James Biden called him in January 2006 to arrange a job for Hunter Biden. It says James Biden told him that his brother (Sen. Biden) “was concerned with the impact that Hunter’s lobbying activities might have on his expected campaign for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination,” and, “Biden told Lotito that, in light of these concerns, his brother had asked him to seek Lotito’s assistance in finding employment for Hunter in a non-lobbying capacity.”

Hunter Biden was made president with an annual salary of $1.2 million, despite his inexperience in the hedge fund industry, the lawsuit said. Before that, he had been part of the Washington law firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair, which earned $1.76 million in lobbying revenue in the first half of 2006, according to Congressional Quarterly’s CQ MoneyLine. One of its biggest clients is the National Association of Shareholder and Consumer Attorneys, a District-based group representing law firms specializing in investment and corporate law.

FOX News, just like always, cannot report the “NEWS” without trowing in their rightwing slant.

Why can’t you just report the news, and leave the rightwing editorializing to “non-news reporting” agencies???

Way to go, Joe. Now let’s talk about the issues - YOUR age, YOUR 30 years as one of the problem insiders, YOU non-electability and YOUR loser running mate.

“Literally,” I could not think of a better forfeiture for the democratic ticket than Biden. As if that will help the fact that Obama’s a bumptious derelict candidate to begin with. Although, Biden seems to be a good family man, he is DC delusion at its worst! Between he and Obama, they will numb and confound the voting public with their equivocal loquacious answers to the simpilest of questions. No wonder they cannot share the stage at the same time too often… each is far to verbose for the other. In short, Biden is the only other man in Congress, besides Obama, that can take six minutes to answer a “Yes” or “No” question.

If you cannot answer YES or NO to a question, you are attempting to hide something! Why do you think they ask yes or no questions in a court of law!

The point is: That is what chases the blue collar / middle class / working class voter away! They have the best instincts to know BS when they see it! Biden sold cars & Obama is a lawyer… need I say more!

Joe Biden is what this party needs to succeed! For too long the Democratic party has been ignoring the Caucasian, Old, Ugly, Grumpy guys who Aren’t Republicans! Meanwhile the media has engaged in reverse-racism, reverse-sexism, reverse-misogyny, and reverse-reverse-elitism. That has left all of the people like me, who worked hard to support our families and our communities, with no one who we can relate to in our party.

With Biden I finally have an option in the Democratic party who knows that to succeed in Washington you have to be a Grumpy Old White guy!

Let’s see Biden’s son and brother are caught up in hedge fund fraud and his son Hunter was a lobbiest that Biden got the hedge fund job for because his lobbing would look bad for Biden. Hunter went back to lobbying. So we have a candidate that is VP to Obama who claims he is against old politics yet is tied to lobbiest by his VP. All I can say is wake up how many Nancy Polousi’s do you want in office?

Biden is changing the theme of the campaign. It is now “It’s not hyperbole”. Sadly enough he has to say it often just so people don’t think he is spouting words from his fantasyland. Obama’s pick here really shows his want of change. Biden is a straight down the line partisan Democrat with no history of bipartisan efforts. He relishes his lobbyist money. And half the time he is full of it…AND HE ADMITS IT. If that’s the change you want you should really ask yourself why. http://www.nevadapundit.com

To: Comment by Biden is all right? Your ignorance is showing!

You say ‘Think about all the past Democrats and Republicans President or VPs, they all experienced in the military!!”

Excuse me but did I miss something? Over the last 41 years 6 prisidents have served on active duty. 3 republican presidents and 3 democrats with 5 of the 6 serving during WWII, the 6th served during the Korean War.

Out of Presidents Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, and “W” Bush the only one to serve was G.H.W. Bush. So out of the last 3 republicans only 1 served.

I’m not going to add up VP’s but I will say Dick Chenney didn’t get anywhere near military service.

So don’t tell me military service is necessary to be Commander and Chief!
