Obama Tells Reporters 2008 Convention Speech Different from ‘04 Version
Just yesterday Barack Obama was up until 2am fiddling with his convention speech. It’s the third day in a row Obama has spent hours working on the speech, set to be delivered on Thursday in Denver.
Yesterday Obama downplayed expectations, saying, “It may not be as good as the other headliners the first three nights, but hopefully it’ll make clear the choice that the American people are going to face in November.”
But expectations are high thanks to his widely heralded speech at the 2004 convention in Boston, which catapulted him into the national spotlight and gave legitimacy to his presidential hopes.
Today Obama told reporters things have changed over the last four years. “2004 I think was unique. Nobody knew who I was and, I think, even up to the time that I walked onto the stage and we handed out Obama signs people were thinking, ‘What is this? And so you know, I don’t think you can duplicate that kind of moment, but more importantly my role is different now,” he said.
In 2004, Barack Obama had just been elected to the U.S. Senate - hadn’t even been sworn in yet - and was a self-described “member of a supporting cast” for Team Kerry. “So I could structure a speech that was all about inspiration and broad themes,” he explained.
Don’t expect that same kind of broad inspiration from this year’s Belle of the Ball. “This speech is different. I think people know that I can give the kind of speech that I gave four years ago. That’s not the question on voters’ minds. I think they’re much more interested in what am I going to do to help them in their lives, and so in that sense I think this is going to be a more workmanlike speech. You know, I’m not aiming for a lot of high rhetoric. I’m much more concerned with communicating how I intend to help middle class families live their lives,” he said.
Obama will accept the nomination of his party at Invesco Field in front of an estimated 70,000 on Thursday night.

I am not going to tell you which party I belong just a few statements . Is our government that far out of touch That the DCC and the GOP feel Americans are so dumb that we can’t read between the lines one that we are going to believe what Michelle Obama is going to say to change what we feel about her and we know she is going to say what she is told to.She has made her stand about what she feels about our nation to little to late, so now we are to believe her commitment to our nation not happen. Lets go back to the issues Obama has all these plans for change what are they and how much will it cost and how we are going to pay for it? I am one of the over 200,000 income groups and employ people if my taxes are raising I am cutting my employees to keep a float. so it will destroy growth. Hillary is being forced by the DCC to concede or face political suicide and we are not suppose to see through this and it is a party united. If the vote on the floor goes all the way she wins but is forced to concede when New York is called what is the DCC afraid of let the vote be what it is and that’s your nominee. But we the people are considered to be stupid and believe what we are told give us some credit . Give us the facts and not the spin if you want to win!

Obama should have chosen Clinton if it’s really for the good of America, both of them would have given up their differences and tried to work out all the issues by employing Obama’s vision and Clinton’s experience. The fact that Obama chose Biden simply because this guys has the cleanest history and less problems for Republican’s attack shows how egoistic Obama is and what he’s really in for - to win the race, not for the good of America. Clinton is so much more brilliant and capable than Biden. What a poor choice on Obama’s part to choose Biden as a running mate. He just lost my vote for this election
Obama is a FRAUD! This speech - like all the others will be prepared for him - very politically correct and well delivered from the teleprompter. Dress him up in an expensive suite, let him deliver his prepared speech - and the crowds cheer - just like a movie! All FAKE

No matter what the speech is all about …it will still be an effort to use smoke and mirrors to hide Obama’s true self from the voters. I will give him the ability to deliver a good speech and he has some good sppech writers and handlers but the issue is WHAT OBAMA TRULY STANDS FOR….socialism, re-distribution of everyone’s wealth, the fleecing of the treasury for extremely expensive dem pet projects, the degrading of the military (has to occur how else is he going to pay for all the socialism), opening borders…the Soros project and creating an extremely liberal education program for the k-12 grades to “really change” american society for the future of liberalism/socialism. Obama continues to hide his real self with the extreme help from the l;iberal media who think they are journalist when in reality they are not at all objective….been in the tank for Obama from the beginning. In fact…the Obama campaign could be considered the fleecing of the american voters by media induced propaganda.
I really see a man emerging from striving life of many thousands coming out to the world to see the people out this stuggle of the past to a shining and develop region of trust and honest judgement , what magnificient duties he have in store for the people. Barack Obama is the man we want not because he is a black but because duty the people watch from is act and his style will also tell. Obama and his wife have already shown the American people what they are made of. Lies, hatred, racism. Why is that Michelle Obama can call the white people “whities” but we were to even utter the word n—– we would be called racists. I am so sick of the double standard with the Obamas. Of course their speeches will be good, they have a dozen people writing them telling them how to act, what to say. After Michelle Obama stood and said she was proud of america for the 1st time in her adult life, she was told the Dems were worried about her speaking to the American people. She said why didn’t you tell me earlier. All that says to me is now when she speaks she isn’t telling how she really feels just what needs to be said to help get her husband elected. They both are fakes!
Sen. Obama has to be concerned with that comparisons that may be made to his campaign speech in Germany.
This probably wont get through because none of my post do. However, I still wanted to respond to all 5 who have posted. You all are rediculous. No matter what the Obama’s do, you find a way to try and tear it down. If they get elected, it will be one of the best things that has ever happend to America. You can continue to believe what ever you want with your closed minds because at this point your mind is made up and you can vote how you so choose. However, I truly believe that the majority of America is not so blind and and will see this famlily for what they really are. This could take America and the rest of the world into a new era. One that all people of all colors can get a long for the good of the country. Come November 4th, I truly believe that America will elect this wonderful family and we can work together to heal America.

Don’t pass on urban legends. Michelle Obama did not say “whities”. Are lies the only things you can use to hold up your choice for president? All I’ve heard from “your side” about Obama are lies and urban legends disproven by snopes.com, factcheck.org, and all the others. Check your sources instead of believing everything you hear on Fox News.
