Heaton: POTUS not the right role for Obama
SACRAMENTO, CA - Barack Obama is doing his best imitation of a potential president but will not make the cut, actress and McCain supporter Patricia Heaton told Republican donors Monday.
“As an actor I recognize that our opponent, someone who thinks that if he puts on the right costume and stands on the right set, that we will all believe that he is presidential material but John McCain doesn’t have to pretend because he walks the walk,” Heaton said during her introduction of the presumptive GOP nominee at a McCain Sacramento fundraiser.
Heaton, an award-winning actress best known for her role as Ray Romano’s wife on the hit series “Everybody Loves Raymond,” said McCain is more in touch with the concerns of regular Americans than his rival. She specifically cited the contrasting images Obama in Berlin “giving his blessing in messianic fashion to thousands of adoring Germans” and McCain talking to voters in a supermarket aisle.
“You know what I thought when I saw that photo? I thought, ‘yeah baby, we are going to win this election.’ Because I am in the cheese aisle in the grocery store a lot more often than when I am in Berlin and so are most other Americans,” Heaton added.
Heaton also joked about Cindy McCain’s as a beer heiress and what that would mean for McCain White House parties.
“I was a little bit disappointed in not being able to introduce Cindy as was originally planned, as she is a beer heiress and I’m Irish-Catholic. I have a vested interest in seeing her becoming First Lady so I get invited to those White House keg parties,” she said.
Sen. McCain later told the crowd that his wife is currently en route to the war-torn country of Georgia.

In addition to Patricia being the sexiest woman on the planet, she is right on when it comes to Obama. I have always hated Biden and this just gives me more reason to hate him. McCain is a man of integrity, and Obama is a phony.
Here are some great reads.

It is interesting how little coverage the above stories actually get. Michelle’s salary did double after he became a Senator. Obama was handed legislation right and left to put his name on. He is a slick politician.
McCain is out of touch with ordinary people. He owns more homes than he can count, he thinks the economy is doing fine and he will do anything to protect giveaways to the wealthy. He’’s no maverick and definitely no friend of ordinary people. Barack Obama is right to push back after all those silly and misleading ads McCain ran that lie about raising taxes on the middle class and being like Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears. McCain once said that “Chelsea Clinton is so ugly because her father is Janet Reno.” He is not only not a friend of ordinary people; he is not even a nice person. But political campaigns are all about image and posturing. So the image is what people are being asked to embrace. A little dose of reality might save us from another politician in the pocket of the wealth.
Hmmm… a “celebrity” endorsement…such a coup for talk show circuit McCain
Oh please I know several landlords who own twice as many houses and if you want to get down to it, how many times have you seen Obama actually talk to people like McCain does? How many times have you seen Obama actually listen? Let me see, on the oil and drilling here, which will save our country 800+ billion and open up tons of jobs not to mention lower gas prices, Obama says he will think about it while he knows Palosi is not going to let a vote be done on drilling, and McCain said he is for it as we are in a place where Americans need the savings. On taxes, Obama says he will lower then while he voted no on keeping the tax break for lower incomes and small businesses and college students, McCain voted yes, Obama says he is for more money for college students from low income families, he voted no on upping the money on the Pell grant from $350 to $2500 which would pay for most of the books and classes for low income families, McCain voted yes, on the bill to increase the moneys to finance daycare for low income families, McCain vated yes, Obama voted no, are you getting the picture? Obama talks and promises but his votes tell another story.
Now as for if houses make you out of touch with the general public and so does money, then John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Al Gore,(in which all of McCains homes can fit in his one) , and alot more of the democratic party must be really out of touch as every one of them are much richer than McCain. Also Cindy McCain has been working with the really poor making sure they get medical help and vaerious other needs met here and over seas, She and McCain give more to help others than Obama and Michelle do, and Michelle does not go out and help the poor as Cindy does. Cindy has for year gone to countries where her health would be at risk to help the truely needy. She has been in the lowest huts and she never boast nor does she toot her horn as Michelle and Obama do.
So the ones out of touch are the ones who can never say they are wrong as Obama can not and the ones that hear and see your suffering but prefer to save the bears then save your homes. Not to mention Obama is the one who wants a CIVIL ARMY to control the American people, now ask yourself why would Obama and the DNC need a CIVIL ARMY? But worse than anything is when the DNC cut out most of the delegates who are voting for Hillary to ensure Obama get the nomination. Now that is truely what they are about. That my fellow Americans is called COMMUNISM. When the government decides for you what is best. That describes Obama, Palosi and most of the Democrats.
The democrats were told to lie and say they are for drilling and Palosi is blocking it so you loyal dems will vote the wackos back in and maybe more. So when it comes down to it, because you are too lazy to look up what the DNC in congress have actually done in the last 18 months, which is nothing unless you think national cowboy day is a big issue, we are approaching a dire time for our country and dems are too stupid to see the trees for the forest.
We need more wealthy people in America. Who do you think creates the jobs for ordinary citizens? If you tax them to much, they will go to Ireland or some other place that has less taxes and is more business friendly.
Be careful what you wish for and stop being envious of wealthy and successful people and become one yourself. It takes hard work but in America everything is possible. I have become almost wealthy myself after years of hard work. I am the son of Mexican LEGAL immigrants. If I can make it here, anybody can; but it takes guts, smarts and sacrifice. I don’t need Obama and the democrats taxing the heck out of me. If they do, I will start laying off some of my office workers and spending less money. How will that benenfit ‘ordinary people’. Obama is a joke that has never signed the front of a paycheck.
Ordinary People in this Corrupt State of Illinois for The Most Honorable John McCain our next United States President. The man with integrity.
Too bad we won’t see this story on Entertainment Tonight, Extra, or People.com……these liberal media outlets have endorsed their candidate.
Patricia Heaton is right on many accounts.
Obama is not the first politician to be able to deliver a speech well.
However, he may be the first to never actually write any of the words he speaks.
It is distressing that someone else defines his agenda, decides his positions, and handles him.
Real Presidential candidates do not need handlers, they need staff to carry out their policies.
The frightening thing is Obama’s message of change.
The change he offers actually moves us backwards into the politices of the middle ages.
He views the peasants as needing strong authority over them to make their lives better.
He desires a nation of servants, not free men and women.
In America, we cast off kings and queens and limit the powers of the government.
Obama’s handlers are uncomfortable with these limits… hence, the “change” message.
patricia heaton is the best celebrity you’ve got?
obama is an Arrogant, Radical FRAUD - he will NEVER be electd - the Millions of Hillary supporters will unite with the Millions of GOP’s to make sure he never wins.
i thought you didn’t like celebrities. or is it just actual celebrities you dislike as opposed to this has been?
Big deal. I am sure Senator Obama has actually gone to the grocery store to get groceries whereas Senator McCain going to the grocery store is highly doubtful.
I am also sure that a wealthy TV star does not live in the real world.
OH MY! What a bunch of junk! I suppose that Obama wiht his 4 million dollar mansion is more in touch. Yeah, right. LOl!!!
I have known people who were not wealthy at all who owned several homes as investments. So, I’m not quite sure why so much is being made of the homes he owns. How many? Obviously he does not handle those homes. Those things are probably handled by his wife, Cindy.
I guess he could own seven and Obama could also own 7 but chooses his modest million dollar house instead…but, he is in touch.
I think that sadly, most people of America are out of touch! They listen to a bunch of phony words that are carefully aimed to charm everybody… no substance to them at all, and this is what sways them.
We are in serious trouble in this country because people do not really pay attention to what is going on…they listen to a bunch of flowery words and make their judgments based on fluff.
Sad. But, true. I will be voting for McCain…the one who has not been sitting around writing glowing speeches….but has been actually doing the job.
Ms. Heaton may be a good actress, but what educational background does she have to make this judgement? Why is her opinion newsworthy? If she is the best McCain can do, he is in trouble. When you think about it, what she said is pretty stupid. Does she believe John McCain actually shops for groceries? My guess is neither he nor his wife have done their own grocery shopping since he first chased her around the table when they first met. People as wealthy as they have servents to shop for them.
I would think hers more so than Modonna who moved out of the U.S. and could care less and the Scientoligists actors backing Obama. She is a little more like the regular people out there than the wierdo people.
WHO CARES WHAT ANY CELEBRITY SAYS ABOUT POLITICS.
Their vote does not count any more than anybody elses.
The issue with the number houses is a lose-lose talking point for McCain.
1st. Does he remember or not?
2nd. Does he wish to admit it or not?
3rd. What was he hiding when he deferred the question?
Says a lot about his health and his character, and none of it is good.
I would rather listen to Patrica Heaton than to Babs Streisand or Alex Baldwin.
[...] Fox has more of Heaton’s remarks: As an actor I recognize that our opponent, someone who thinks that if he puts on the right costume and stands on the right set, that we will all believe that he is presidential material but John McCain doesnt have to pretend because he walks the walk, Heaton said during her introduction of the presumptive GOP nominee at a McCain Sacramento fundraiser. You MUST be kidding me! Patricia Heaton? That’s the best you can dig up? Puh-leeze! Who CARES what Patricia Heaton thinks! I liked her as a lightweight actress on a lightweight sitcom, and it appears lightweight describes her political justifications as well.
Thank you Patricia Heaton for not being a typical Hollywood wimp! This lady has enough talent to last. If everyone would speak up for America as she and many others are doing, Obama would be a “Remember that guy, yeah the arrogant ONE that spoke to Berliners but was too afraid to speak on O’Reilly, yeah that’s him; Man we all need to learn from all that” McCain is real. Ricky McDermon in Macon, Ga. 8/27/08 BTW, did you notice how the DNC dissed Jimmy Carter; sent him to New Orleans. REALITY SPEAKS!
It is sad that hate and lies are what politics has come to be about and that people like John McCain get caught up in promoting this kind of talk. Shame on them and you for polluting public discourse and undermining our democracy. Let’s just crown King Karl Rove and be done with it. That way our investments will be safe even as child poverty continues to rise (see the press reports today). Then again let’s forget about problems and just throw mud at each other. Better still let’s all go numb watching Fox News do it for us. Good night, and good luck.
Hi…
Regular American here. I love the way you’ve captured the entire essence of the last 10-20 months to a visit to Germany and a stop in the cheese aisle. I’m curious…was McCain buying brie or gouda?
Face it…Everybody Loves Barack!
Hmm. For first time very unfortunately, I am starting to feel like not watching Everybody loves Raymond anymore.
I do not get these religious hypocrites at all. Those who portray to be most religious are least religious. Patricia, you claim to be religious and all. Explain how you agree to wearing half naked stuff on TV shows. How do you agree to shaping your body with plastic surgery, and not be content with what God gave you. I know you got issues with democrats, and you are well within your right to disagree, but to discredit a good man as an actor is highly dishonest of you. Obama would not have reached where he has if he was phony. Beating a Clinton, a champion of democratic party is no mean feat. You do not have to give him credit, but you got no right to discredit him either. In any case, all I need to now know is where Ray Romano stands, and then may be I am done with him too. Shame on him for casting you. Well actually, no. Not shame on him…
