Obama on his VP: “I have made my selection…”

Barack Obama was busy deflecting questions on his running mate choice as reporters besieged him with questions at various stops along his bus tour through Virginia.

At a stop in Petersburg, the AP asked Obama when the campaign would make the announcement - expected to come by text message. “Wouldn’t you like to know. Are you a supporter?” Obama joked. “I’m looking forward to getting the text message,” she shot back.

He flashed a grin to another reporter asking if he’d made up his mind.

Later a reporter asked Obama if he had formally extended the offer yet to his choice, he smiled and said, “You’re not going to get anything out of me,” before turning and walking away.

Perhaps realizing the barrage of questions would not let up, Obama finally told the gang of reporters at the next stop in Emporia, VA, “I’ve made the selection and that’s all you’re going to get.”

The candidate was joined on the campaign trail this morning with VA Gov. and likely veep contender, Tim Kaine. After the two met for 15 minutes this morning in a Richmond hotel, the governor would not give reporters any scoop.

Tim Kaine introduces Barack Obama at an event in Chester, VA.

“I’m going to let the campaign speak for the campaign,” he said when asked if Obama popped the question. He did, however, share that Obama visited with Kaine’s staff “to basically say hi to them and thank them for all their hard work.”

Obama returns to Chicago this evening after his town hall in Chesapeake, Virginia.

It’s Chuck Hagel, just wait and see.

I guess Barack got enough text messages from liberals, telling him who to choose. Now he can text them back with the top vote-getter. A suitable method for an overhyped celebrity.

Yawn, Yawn, Yawn.

It does not matter who agrees to be Obama ’s running mate, they will both go down like lead in November or even sooner! Its over, ‘bami!

“Just what we the people need, a president that requires ‘OJT”…

The democrats need to ‘hire’ / ‘appoint’ a VP candidate that could

in the event of B.O. being elected, provide him with “on the job training”

Because as h.cLINTON and millions of others have stated: B.O. is not qualified to be president.

He (B.O.) cannot possibly even know his ‘Senate’ Job - He has hardly ever been there!

_____“We had some great choices,” Obama told USA Today,
adding he was looking for someone
“prepared to be president.”_____

B,O,s own quote: he was looking for someone “prepared to be president.”

It just does not get better than that…

Sen. Joe Biden refunds Dickie And Zack Scruggs’ contributions, these guys are big time lawyers who just went to jail. Is he Obama choice?

Not going to change one thing….Obama is Obama…..a VP person will not change Obama’s views, poor judgements, terrible associations and socialistic views no matter who it is. The VP choice will simply be a smoke screen for his “ideas” and presentation to divert attention away from him…Obama…and it will not work!!!!!

What a buffoon. “I know but ‘m not telling” is a 7 year olds tactic, not a tactic you want to see from a 47 year old presidential candidate. Don;t announce that you are going to announce your VP and then just annonce that you will later announce it. Hypocrit. BO, something stinks.

As the media waits with baited breath, the American people are going about their lives- working to put food on their tables and a roof over their heads, and, almost forgot, GAS in their cars. They don’t need to hear Sen. O. being CHILDISH, IMMATURE and for that fact, UNPRESIDENTIAL.

Comment by Charlie

God help the U.S.A. if Kaine is the Vice Presedential candidate. Just the mere fact of this liberal tax raising idiot running is scary. He and Mark Warner have been the ruination of Virginia.

With all the fare and balancing… why hasn’t FOX touched this story??:

“Obama Sued in Philadelphia Federal Court on Grounds he is Constitutionally Ineligible for the Presidency?” - 8/21/2008

I will be suprised if my comment will even be posted… what are these shills hidding from? And how much is Obamah and McCain paying you chumps to not mention the other 3 presidential canidates? We do have a Libertarian party, an Independant party, and a Green party that one could argue isn’t taken seriously…. HOW CAN THEY WHEN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COVERAGE. Fare and balanced deception.

Obama has said he has decided on his VP but so far isn’t telling. I was definitely going to vote for Obama but this guessing game is annoying. I am rethinking who I will vote for because I don’t want a President who plays childish games. The longer he keeps up this game, the better the chance that I will switch my vote to McCain.

Today is very exciteing! I’m on pins and needles as one might say. Whom-ever he picks will be the right person. I respect his judgement! Obama’s vision for our Nation, is the world I want for my grandchilden. McCain can’t fight nor win against hope and inspiration. Feeling those things by our founding fathers is how our Nation was born! God Bless Obama!

of course he will not let us know. It is giving him free air time for the past few days. Who cares. If the news wasn.t making such a big deal out of this, America wouldn’t be so cought up in it. Anything to raise his ratings above McCains. After all, he is starting to catch up!

I think it would be wise of him to pick HILLARY…..she’s the only HOPE for him. Otherwise he’s gonna wish he could have CHANGEd his mind, after gettin beat down PRESIDENT JOHN McCAIN!!!!

I was a fervant Hillary supporter, and have tried to feel the same about Barack. The fact though, that it is rumored that he did not even CONSIDER her as a VP choice, is like a slap in the face.
I volunteered for the Hillary campaign, I don’t see myself doing the same for Barack.

Comment by Chef David

It makes sense that he isnt telling anyone. That way if he flip-flops on this too, no one will know.

Comment by tapechacek@ameritech.net

Who the hell cares. Am I the only one who’s already heard enough from No-bama to decide he’s not the guy to lead the country? I highly doubt it.

Go McCain!!!

Obama hated the ad comparing him to the stars [spears & hilton]…..so why is he making such a big to do about his selection for his VP. He is a show boat….and I bet he picks someone who will stand quietly in the back ground and let him have his spot all to himself!
Can’t pick Hillary…..he won’t share the limelight with a woman that is for sure!
He might if he were sharing it with a female more rich and powerful than he thinks he is….hummmmmmm…..maybe Oprah????

Comment by ron ballard

Obama says he made his v.p. selection to meet his following criteria; they would be prepared to assume the presidency; help him to preside; and to critic his decisions. The obvious choice to meet that criteria would be his wife.

Does it bother anyone that Obama sat in a church for 20 yrs that was based upon the writings of James Cone the founder of Black Theology? Anyone with an open mind should read, “A Black Theology of Liberation”. It completely explains Rev Wright’s anti-white and anti-America rants. Eye opening for sure.

Obama couldn’t decide so Nancy Pelosi selects Chet Edwards as VP.

Chet Edwards VP as chosen by Nancy Pelosi.

Comment by J. Stark

I’m getting a little tired of Obama waving the VP selection under our nose. He should either announce it or SHUT UP!!! If it’s not Hillary, he’s losing my vote!

Comment by Joyce Flott

Obama should choose Hillary. The American Public chose Hillary. If he doesn’t pick her he definitely will not receive my vote.

Bumper Sticker Could Indicate Bayh Is Obama’s Veep
Company Would Not Confirm Information
POSTED: 1:01 pm CDT August 22, 2008
UPDATED: 4:44 pm CDT August 22, 2008
LENEXA, Kan. — After weeks of speculation and days of intense rumors, the answer to who Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama would name as his running mate may have come down to a bumper sticker printed in Lenexa.KMBC’s Micheal Mahoney reported that the company, which specializes in political literature, has been printing Obama-Bayh material. That’s Bayh as in U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana. Word leaked out about the material as it was being printed up by Gill Studios of Lenexa. The Obama campaign had said it would make the announcement by text message on Friday.Gill Studios, would not confirm information about the material. They would not deny it either. The company president would not comment when asked by Mahoney about the reports. But at least three sources close to the plant’s operations reported the Obama-Bayh material was being produced.Bayh has a reputation as a fiscally conservative Democrat. Bayh endorsed Hillary Clinton and it is believed that he could help the Obama ticket by delivering a key battleground state.Obama has arranged a joint appearance for Saturday with his running mate at the state capitol in Springfield, Ill.

Obama comes off vacation losing ground
Obama loses terribly in his first public question and answer session which shows his lack of resolve and the ability to lead.

This is hype to get the publics focus off his poor performance in public without a teleprompter and that simple yes or no answers are above his pay grade. If this country is attacked again, will the decision on how to react be above his pay grade?
He has accomplished his goal by getting the focus on his VP choice and so he can go into the convention with higher polls.

OBAMA AND THE DNC CHOSE JOHN EDWARDS — BUT HE SHOT HIMSELF IN THE FOOT!

PROBLEM: BUMPER STICKERS HAVE BEEN PRINTED!

SOLUTION: OBAMA WILL CHOOSE CHET EDWARDS!

I WON’T VOTE FOR OBAMA — I DON’T CARE WHO HE CHOOSES!

What is so important about who Obama picks for Vice President, there are none of the ones mentioned smart enough to make up for Obama’s stupidity. He knows a great deal about getting his money illegally or he wouldn’t even think about how many houses the McCain’s own,etc Those dishonest thoughts just wouldn’t even enter his mind. I am an independent who has never voted Republican in my life but there is a first time for everything and I guess 2008 is it.

Obama can kiss my vote goodbye if he doesn’t choose Hillary Clinton. 18 million voters strong. It’s time to put WE THE PEOPLE back into politics. Hillary Clinton gets my vote.

Biden is not the VP choice, it is Chris Dodd…What is everyone thinking? Isn’t it obvious? I have said it all along. Have you heard anything from him lately? No! The last time I saw him on the television his looks improved tremendously–they are grooming him to stand side by side to a very attractive future POTUS.

Call me in the morning!
