Does Biden Know?
WILMINGTON, Del — A day after personally delivering bagels and coffee and joking with reporters staking out his home, potential Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden has been decidedly more standoffish with the press as Barack Obama’s VP announcement grows more imminent.
He’s left the house three times - each time with the window rolled up. His returns have been the same - all except one, when he admonished one reporter (me) to get off his property.
Sitting in our FOX cameraman’s SUV, parked on a small patch of dirt and grass along the street on the same side as Biden’s home — which sits about a quarter mile away — I was the first to see Biden approaching the house in a silver GMC SUV. I hopped out, microphone in hand, to alert the rest of the reporters that he was on his way.
But before he pulled in, Biden rolled down the window to express his displeasure with our parking spot - one that had been used by others since Tuesday.
“Get the car off my grass, pal,” Biden said.
“Yes, sir,” I replied, to which Biden shouted “Now!”
I started to explain that it wasn’t my car and I didn’t have the keys, but the senator wasn’t all that interested. He rolled forward into the drive, where he said a quick “hi” to the assembled cameras before speeding by — ignoring my question about whether he’d heard anything yet today about the VP selection.
Our FOX Cameraman has since moved the car.
You can’t blame someone for getting a bit testy with a gaggle of reporters on his lawn for a few days, but Biden’s behavioral shift encourages some idle speculation. With word that Obama has already made his choice, does Biden already know if he’s in or out? And has he changed his behavior towards the press because of it?
Biden doesn’t strike me as a person who normally is polite, in fact I would bet that he already knows that he isn’t the choice and he has grown tired of playing the “maybe” game with the reporters. His natural self is showing, naturally rude that is and demanding.
Only a Fox reporter would park in someones yard and call it a “small patch of dirt and grass along the street.”
Sounds like sour grapes to me!

Biden is an empty suit. He has made a career out of his blustery speeches, Italian Suits and hair plugs. Nothing of substance BUT he knows it all!

Not surprising that folks from FOX — the often mindless mouthpiece of the Republican Party — would violate someone’s property rights. You guys are too clueless even to be ideologically consistent. Protecting property rights was the concept around which the Republican Party was formed, so it’s quite ironic that you treat them so dismissively by driving onto someone’s lawn & then acting offended that they would order you off. So it’s only poetic justice that the good Senator from Delaware sent you packing….

Want to know if the truck Sen. Biden was driving is fuel efficient? What gas mileage does it get? How come he isn’t leading by example and biking to work, or better yet- walking.- He is setting a bad example for the youth of America by driving a truck. What will the environeoples think?
I do so hope he picks Biden. With all of the comments Biden has made in the past about Obama’s lack of qualifications and wrong-minded ideas about Iraq, on camera no less, the McCain camp will have a slew of pre-filmed ads at their disposal.
Come on now give Joe a break. Harry Reid states that everyone comes to Joe for information so by that guideline he must know everything. HMMMMMMM Italian suites (Mafia), Tony Rezko boy that all seems to fit together.

I will be suprised if my comment will even be posted… what are these shills hidding from? And how much is Obamah and McCain paying you chumps to not mention the other 3 presidential canidates? We do have a Libertarian party, an Independant party, and a Green party that one could argue isn’t taken seriously…. HOW CAN THEY WHEN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COVERAGE. Fare and balanced deception.

It doesn’t matter which republicrat gets “elected.” Both mccain or obama will equally continue to destroy our country along the same lines as bush, clinton and bush have. The question is who will be less nauseating to listen to for the next four years.

Yet another example of Obama’s poor judgment. Is there a woman over 45 that doesn’t remember his sexist behavior during the Anita Hill hearings over the nomination of Clarence Thomas? Do Democrats realize that but-for Biden’s disbelief of Anita Hill and his refusal to investigate further we’ve had Thomas on the court all these years rubber-stamping every one of Scalia’s rants?

McCain is out of touch with ordinary people. He owns more homes than he can count, he thinks the economy is doing fine and he will do anything to protect giveaways to the wealthy. He’’s no maverick and definitely no friend of ordinary people. Barack Obama is right to push back after all those silly and misleading ads McCain ran that lie about raising taxes on the middle class and being like Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears. McCain once said that “Chelsea Clinton is so ugly because her father is Janet Reno.” He is not only not a friend of ordinary people; he is not even a nice person. But political campaigns are all about image and posturing. So the image is what people are being asked to embrace. A little dose of reality might save us from another politician in the pocket of the wealthy.
