Warner On Keynote Speech, VP Speculation

Mark Warner

Mark Warner

Former Virginia Governor and current Senate candidate Mark Warner tells Fox News that, contrary to recent reports that he received a last-minute request for documents from the Obama campaign, he is not being vetted for a Vice Presidential role - and says he hopes he can live up to the high standard the current Democratic nominee set in his keynote convention address four years ago.

Speaking after a joint fundraiser for the Virginia Democratic Party with current governor and VP hopeful Tim Kaine, Warner repeated that he’s taken himself out of the running for the number 2 spot. “I made very clear to the campaign that my decision was to run for the United States Senate,” he said. Asked directly if he’s being vetted, Warner said simply “no.”

In fact, in his remarks to donors gathered at the Museum of Science in Richmond, Warner endorsed Kaine for VP. “While i would hate to lose Gov Kaine, i tell you this much: I could not imagine someone that would be better served and better suited to be the next Vice President of the United States than our friend Tim Kaine,” Warner said. “It’d be kind of cool, we’d have a Tuesday night/Wednesday Night Virginia Extravaganza a few weeks from now.”

Warner was referring to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, which he keynotes on Tuesday - the day before the Vice Presidential nominee addresses the party. Warner said he was contacted about serving as keynote speaker by the Obama campaign about 10 days before the announcement, calling it “a great honor.”

Warner plans to focus his speech on bipartisanship and share a little of what he calls the Virginia Story — “how we got Republicans and Democrats to work together from budget to expanding economic opportunities in rural communities.”

Four years ago, Barack Obama used the keynote address as a launching pad onto the national stage. Warner said he’s just hoping to give a good speech.

“He set a pretty high bar, but on the other hand I was trying to remember back to some of the other keynote speakers, and they either seemed to hit real high or they’re eminently forgettable. So I hope I tend to the latter.”

While he makes that speech I hope he explans to the people how many of the well to do are now buying homes overseas so they can move away from high unfair taxes. He can reasure me about my grandchildren and daughter moving because my son-in-law is tired of paying over $20,000.00 in fed taxes because he has to work over seas and now wants to move my family there too to get away from losing half of what he earns. Because his housing, food, and flights home are paid by the company that is considered earned income and taxed at $14,000.00 a year as well as his taxes on what he actually earns. So an income of $75,000.00 ends up about $55,000.00 or less. Then you have Obama wanting to add more taxes on top of what is already there. So Americans are leaving America and you think you wont pay, guess again.

I wouldn’t worry about living up to Obama’s expectations, Governor.

i was dumb enough to vote for warner a couple of years ago. keep up the high standars of the democrates. HAHA if they are high standards i would hate to see low standards. God help us all if we ever see them. we should all move to iraq. they don’t hide the truth behind elaborate self serving speeches of things they would never ever do if elected.

Obama isn’t going to lower taxes for anyone. He said he wants the Bush tax cuts to expire. Well, that tax cut “for the rich” worked out to 30$ per pay period extra in my paycheck. And, at the time, I was making a whopping 8$/hour. I guess it’s possible that, under Obama’s plan, that would qualify as rich. I have a feeling anyone with a job will be considered rich.

Warner likes to talk about how he balanced the budget in Virginia. I live in Virginia, and we’re a balance budget state, meaning the Governor HAS to submit a balanced budget, no matter what needs to be cut. So, nothing really to brag about. Gilmore balanced the budget, too, and gave us back some of our taxes.

Not that I dislike Mark Warner, I think he did a decent job on most things non-economical. But still, he, along with Obama, are going to fleece us out of 40% of our pay in no time. If not directly, then through windfall profits taxes on corporations, which will only pass that cost onto us.

“And it came to pass” ‘The giant pair of ears with a mouth’ that had been waiting for itself for so

long, finally arrived, fulfilling the prophecy of its coming, made by the ‘one’ who was waiting for

himself.

And he said unto the peoples, I ‘wish’ you to Inflate the tires of the land, and ‘hope’ you prosper.

ruffdeezy, you forgot to mention he will not protect this country that he is a racist that he hangs out with people that have bombed our federal buildings. That he gives two opposing answers to every question because he is nothing more than a schmuck trying to put his wife in a bigger house so she can look down her nose at all the Americans that she has never been proud of until her lying husband was able to fool asses such as yourself into even giving this self admitted coke head the time of day.

Obama will not lower taxes on the people making $250,000. He is going to repeal the Bush tax cuts which in turn will actually be a tax hike on the middle class.
