Obama Goes After McCain On the Economy
Obama attacks McCain for voting with George Bush on economic issues, and — as usual in this campaign — turns to energy, blasting McCain forsupporting spending $10b a month in Iraq while the country enjoys record oil revenues. Also includes a new tag line: “The Middle Class First.”
The :30 ad will air in 16 battleground states.
In response, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds write “In the Senate, Barack Obama has voted in lockstep with President George W. Bush nearly half the time, including the Bush-Cheney Energy bill which gave close to 3 billion dollars in new giveaways to Big Oil – a terrible policy that John McCain opposed.”
“The truth is Barack Obama’s plan is a job killing machine that ignores the struggling economy and raises taxes on family savings, social security and small businesses.”

Economy attacks on McCain??? Seems that Obama is just searching for anything to bash McCain for since his leadership as a CinC in global terms are minimal, his judgements are poor, his associations are extremely poor and his desire to tax everything and re-distribute wealth is down right dangerous….and he attacks McCain???? You have not seen anything yet when compared to the aspirations of Obama in respects to the economic strength of the USA…a democratic state that has economic drivers…people who have money who desire to spend it….and yet what does Obama think will occur when you increase their taxes, increase capital gains taxes….and give away their hard earned money to others….you think that stimulates the economy….NOT !!!! Now Obama not only shows his true lack of experience in economic terms but has already shown his global leadership to be wanting…not CinC expertise nor economic ability….the worst of both worlds and the dems see him as their savior….there must be something wrong with this picture. There are so many others who have must more going for themselves other than a nice smile, a good orator and a young look….but it takes MUCH MORE to lead this country and Obama is still searching for it.
McCain is a wreck when it comes to energy. All I hear from him is more drilling for oil and more nuclear power plants. Great, yes McCain I totally want us to keep doing old stuff that screws up our kids future. Got anymore innovative ideas that will lead us into prosperity? Didn’t think so.
Drill here now!

Neither of these two is for a free market. Neither of these two supports Constitutional Currency.
Why are they running for President of the Republic? Because they are members of the same club.
However critical they appear to be of one another, they are because of their different views of the role of collectivism. Similarly, the COMMUNISTS and the FASCISTS hated each other and were critical of one another yet we know that LIBERTY and the REPUBLIC were the only hope. We fought these forces before overseas and now we must fight them here.
Perfect. After McCain last week came out with a statement that, having served on a nuclear power aircraft carrier many years ago, he understands nuclear power, his understanding of basic economics deserves scrutiny.
Perhaps the Bush plan of continuously borrowing money from China to support wars and other processes rather than ask Americans to contribute and sacrifice makes sense to this nation of whiners.
If experience was a true measure ofa candidate, Gore would still be president and Bush would be in West Texas, where he does his finest work.
Good ad. Short, concise and to the point.
Two collectivist globalist arguing over which of these ridiculous approaches is best for the US.
It is like hearing COMMUNISTS and FASCISTS argue over central financial control.
Anyone ever hear of FREE MARKETS?
Anyone ever hear of LIBERTY?

ABOLISHMENT OF CORPORATE AND SOCIAL WELFARE?
Well said. I won’t deny that McCain is no economic wizard, but you can’t pin George Bush’s economic mistakes on McCain. What the economy truly needs is for us to reduce government spending. Were we to cut out some of the more useless departments still left over from the clinton administration it would relieve some of the stress on our economy. That was Bush’s biggest mistake that McCain needs to make clear he will rectify, because you can’t give tax breaks like Reagan and have big government like Clinton. That is a big part of causing defecits like what we have now; especially at wartime.
“and the dems see him as their savior….”
What people fail to recognize is that this is the Dems agenda (at least liberalism). The big scare is that many of the middle and lower middle class are the ones getting hit the hardest. A tax rebate is simply a mechanism to make us feel good about the money we are doling out to others already. Let me keep more of my money in each paycheck and I can start meeting more then the bare min. on my bills. I am not sure that either party gets that… I love my country and my family - right now both are struggling - but the country is not paying for my food and mortgage! And I can not afford to pay more to the country without becoming part of the people who need money from the government.
Poor McCain has alreayd accepted that he does not know anything about economy. Why beat the hell out of the poor guy? I hope American people are not that dumb that they need to be shown even such an obvious truth. Of course it always amazes me as to who are those 40+% people who say they will vote for him. Who do they want to be the president of this country-a fool! I don’t know; I can’t understand.
Let me get this straight- it is bad when Sen. McCain votes on occasion in agreement with Pres. Bush. However- it is good when Sen. Obama votes against Pres. Bush and in lock step with his party. I thought he was looking to bring CHANGE. Sen. McCain has shown more willingness to go across party lines and work on issues - Sen. Obama has not shown the same- he has voted a straight party line. Look at his actions - they speak louder than words.

Southern Dem:
To quote Reagan: “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”
You talk about democracy but if tax breaks for the wealthy actually contributed to the economy hard-working Americans wouldn’t live in fear of losing their jobs; unemployed people (who truly want to work) would be able to find employment that pays a living wage. Fewer Americans would be living witihout insurance; and more people in the US would enjoy a standard of living that is the birthright of every American.
Obama is not attacking McCain. He is simply stating the facts. McCain has voted for many of the failed policies of BUSH. And in a lot of ways, McCain desires to continue these failed policies.
The attack mode is where McCain finds himself as his campaign has decided they cannot win on the issues.
Let’s see…..under a bush administration we have a housing market in shambles, increasing inflation, record defecits and national debt (fiscal conservatism, huh?), a crumbling school system (see our latest national ACT test scores), and an ever diminishing moral authority role in the world, all the while spending billions of dollars rebuilding Iraq while Iraq itself maintains an 80 billion dollar SURPLUS…………and the difference between John McCain and George Bush on these crucial issues….well, let me quote McCain surrogate Mark Sanford “ummmm…….duhhhhh…ummmmmmm”
McCain has just declared war on the Soviet Union.
To all Obama worshipers, assuming you’re also democrats:
In reference to the messiah who doesn’t know the number 50 from the number 57 and who thinks a middle class family income is $42,000 anually. Who could possibly think this chameleon knows anything about the economy? Possibly an idiot. You need to know that the party of your idol is responsible for high fuel prices. I’ll bet Obama, Nancy Pelose or Harry Reid won’t admit that to the people. No, they want the idiots to remain idiots so no one realizes they are hypocrites and liers when they try to place blame elsewhere for problems in the economy.
Artificial intelligence is no substitute for natural stupidity.
Neither one of these guys knows anything about the economy. Neo-Con economics is voodoo economics, except that voodoo works within certain cultures that believe in it. Obamanomics is bigger spending on programs that we already don’t have the money for plus many new programs we will have less money for after we spend more on the existing ones. Aside from that, raising taxes in a recession is something not even Democrats do.
To pull the economy up by its bootstraps the price of oil will have to come down and stay down. Add to that investment in new technologies that will eliminate our dependence on foreign oil and promote new high tech industries. We will have to bring our manufacturing back to the U.S. Just the other day, China surpassed the U.S. in manufacturing. No wonder, we outsourced our manufacturing to China and we pay them twice by employing their workforce and then buying their goods. We also need to keep more of our agriculture in the U.S. so, number one, we are not poisoned, number two, dependence on foreign sources for food is more dangerous for national security than even dependence on them for energy, and number three, because it’s business that generates dollars. We should be exporting food, not importing it.
There are a lot of other things we should be doing - that’s just a few. Until we revitalize American manufacturing, create new industries and revitalize our agriculture we are going to continue to send our money abroad and borrow it from abroad and that is the heart of the matter, our debt.
As for the housing market and our shambles, the democrats are running the country not Bush and it has all came about in their rule.
The Constitution grants Congress “all legislative powers” in the national government. Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution lists a wide range of congressional powers, including:
Coining money.
Maintaining a military.
Declaring war on other countries.
Regulating interstate and foreign commerce
Congress also controls federal taxing and spending policies—one of the most important sources of power in the government. The Constitution also gives Congress the authority to “make all laws which shall be necessary and proper,” an implied source of power sometimes called the Elastic Clause.
One of the most important implied powers is Congress’s authority to investigate and oversee the executive branch and its agencies, such as the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice. As part of this responsibility, which is known as oversight, Congress summons senior officials to answer questions from members, orders audits of agencies, and holds hearings to air grievances of citizens.
Congress also holds hearings on matters of general public concern. Sometimes members of Congress conduct these hearings to identify problems that create a need for new laws. In other cases Congress holds hearings to raise public awareness about an issue.
So why isn’t congress doing their job? Oh, yeah that’s right it was the DNC who said they will never work with a republican President. Get a life. We need to put them all out of office asap. Start fresh and move on. The only people that should be left in office are the ones who are actually listening to the people and not using pork and not robbing our country for their own gains.
I am sick of the Karl Rove politics of John McCAin. What a loser he is when all he can do is attack someone like Obama. I have never seen such a dirty campaign since the swift boating done by Rove for Bush against Kerry. I am proud of Obama and feel that this needs to be done to counter the dirty politics by McCAin.
It still amazes me the differences in opinions on FN.com and MSNB.com - but the posts on this story are surprisingly untypical of fox viewers/readers, so kudos to both fox and you bloggers out there for realizing…if it looks like crud, and smells like crud, it’s most likely crud.
My anticipation now is not just for the conventions, but for the debates. Here is where BO can really slam JM in person (which is what most want to see anyway), or vise versa. I foresee a flustered, red-faced JM, simmering to a boil, as his opponent, a perceived ‘newbie’, calls him out on all of his BS. Certainly BO has a lot of BS that could also be called out, so it’s anyone’s game. But the sole tone of McCampaign as of late vs. that of Obama’s (negative vs positive; reactive vs proactive; personality-based, vs issues-based), coupled with the obvious physical frustration of JM (pounding fists, blurting out war-mongering threats, that have caused a ruckus in a foreign country - the pres of Georgia just blasted JM today saying action speaks louder than words), tells me that BO will really p*** McCain off, allowing him to show his true colors. Bill Clinton can give you an idea of what I mean.
Just look at it from JM’s perspective…this young, hip, inexperienced politician from Chicago, with un-American roots and religious ties, is going to tell ME i’m wrong?! And if BO stays true to form, with his cool, collective (some may wrongly label it ‘arrogant’), and belittles JMs points or stances, in clear, consice and truthful (that term seems to fading faster than the Antartic Ice Shelf) JM will fume to the likes that no one has seen since the old Warner Bros cartoons.
Mark my words, the debates will truly show which of these two will be most fit for the job. While I am a current BO supporter (no Hillary for VP please), if JM, can turn the table on BO in the debates, and call him out effectively as inexperienced, I may choose to alter my support - the primary debates only solidified my support, after seeing Hillary go for the jugular. After all, speeches, commercials, and newsbites may give a brief insight into a candidate’s persona, but a face-to-face confrontation, concentrated on the issues, speak much louder, as we will be able to judge raw physical reaction, and tension, which can’t hide too easily behind a catchy theme song!
Either way, 2008 is a great time to be alive and American - this election will go down in the books, no matter the outcome.

What people seem to forget is that neither Obama or McCain are economists. Neither of them can provide a sure fire idea to fix our current economic state. The American people want relief in the short run; hence the new drilling plans and potential build up of nuclear energy. In the short run this is a good idea as the potential marginal benefit can exceed the marginal cost, yet this will not solve our economic troubles in the long run.
The real way to fix our economic state is to change the way our tax dollars are managed and spent. The government needs to be held accountable as to where our tax dollars go. It doesn’t matter who we elect as the commander and chief, we need to vote out the career politicians that have been padding their wallets with our tax dollars. This country wants change? Change the people who are ACTUALLY in control…congress and the senate.
McCain and campaign leaders you are so full of it. Hurts when someone says what is right!!! All the lobbyist you have working for you like Scheunemann. One reason you are so angry about Georgia. Why don’t you say all this? Obama is a better leader for this country than you. Hurts but true! Warmonger McCain.
I want to respond to Sue Hal, who said, “Let me get this straight- it is bad when Sen. McCain votes on occasion in agreement with Pres. Bush. However- it is good when Sen. Obama votes against Pres. Bush and in lock step with his party.”
What Sen. McCain’s spokesman said was, in fact, that Obama voted WITH Bush half the time, which make it clear that Obama has NOT always voted the party line. How could you possibly misread that quote? Only seeing what you want to see?
As much as we think Barack is cute, we cannot gamble are future on him.
Obama I wanted to be impressed I got excited but you let us all down.
More lip service from Obama won’t do it now, he’s self serving publicity is a joke, and we don’t need a joke for a President.
Once again Obama has forgotten that he also voted for even more of Bush’s economic issues, billions of dollars to big oil. The only thing Obama voted against is supporting our troops. If the flip flop fits wear it Obama. I guess that is why he is on vacation in Hawaii, so he can wear the flip flops without being called out on it.
BOP-O-NOMICS? I don’t think this commercial is very hard hitting. It won’t stick. Way to slick. The Obama campaign needs to starting trying to figure out, are people BOPPING their candidate because they like him or not? The online instant Poll at http://www.BOP-O-METER,com is raising more than eyebrows as the numbers on the http://www.BOP-O-METER.com continue to rise. With the conventions around the corner, look for a surge and clarification as whether or not the BOPS are for or against.
Democrats supporting McBush = 0 (ZERO)
Republicans supporting Obama = You can name a few!
That says it all thank you! Only the ignorant and racists support McBush.
Let’s see, Northern Rep…McCain is opposed to earmarks and will veto excessive spending attached to bills…he is in favor of charter schools and school vouchers to allow parents to send their kids to schools of their choosing…he has a sound energy plan that promises to put Americans back to work in oil, nuclear, wind and solar industries…he will not raise taxes on anyone…you can bet he will be on top of the Iraqis’ budget surplus telling them to start paying their way. He has a plan to grow the economy…he has stated these things many times…if you are failing to listen, who is the idiot?
All American….I think it would be better to say “Will Obama’s economic policies make you better off today compared to where we were 4 years ago”…and the answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!! If you truly believe you are worse off now compared to 4 years ago you surely would not adopt the “Obama approach” to salvation….it WILL BURY YOU….there is absolutely no history that you can tax your way out of the issues at hand….TAXATION WILL NOT STIMULATE THIS ECONOMY….oil prices, “changing for change sake”, being in bed with socialism…are not the answers to our issues even though Obama would like to sell you that bridge. Go look at the auto worker who has been layed off….taxation of his assests/capital gains/people’s retirement income…these are the methods to correct the economy??? And you want to tax further those groups who are the engines of our economy…and you also expect them to buy the goods/services to keep people employed….you are barking up the wrong tree. Yes we can improve things from 4 years ago but adopting socailism and income re-distribution is not it ..at all…you are simply sacrificing an attempt to improve things with a failed approach…pure and simple.
Wrong again, NObama !!

ECONOMY, Barack. That’s like money and stuff you don’t understand. Now go back to your miniture golf game. Your ball is still stuck in front of the windmill.
Obama spews a lot of garbage for someone who doesn’t know his alimentary orifice from a snake hole. Not to mention the fact that he is a racist, hypocritical lier. Pretends to know something about the economy when he doesn’t know the difference between the numbers 50 and 57. Oh, my bad. I am thinking about the time when Obama said he had campaigned in all 57 Islamic states. Someone had quoted Obama as saying the middle class family has an average annual income of $42,000.00. Wonder which country he was referring to.
This idiot is criticizing McCain for something about oil companies having record profits when he and his congressional democrat cronies, Howard Dean, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, are responsible for high fuel prices. Dems have blocked off shore exploration and drilling for 30+ years. He pretends to care about the cost burden on the little people. Lier. He spends his vacation in Hawaii at taxpayer expense. The oil companies earn their money by putting a product on the market. The federal government takes in more revenue through taxation and produces nothing. The windfall profits tax that Obama proposes would just be more with which the greedy socialist dems can feather their nest. To hell with the little people.
Apparently those who continue to see Obama as the chosen messiah are living too comfortably or are to ignorant to realize the intentions of Obama (his puppeteers) and the socialist dems. Throw constitutional rights out the window. You will have none. The dems will make you dependent on the government. Taxation will leave you with few if any luxuries. Your tax dollars will be used to feather the nest of your messiah and his servants.
With respect to the chosen one.

Amazing words from the epitome of ignorance. Using references as messiah, islamic states oh please who is the ignorant one here.
So if we want to have an enlightened discussion through the use of intellegence then lets do that.
Interesting article today on the true scope of the national debt on NPR today. Mostly very consertive guest (Wall Street Journal, Former Director of OMB under Reagan, and some one else from a national think tank — sorry I don’t remember). All were in agreement that our national debt and obligations for social security, medicare, healthcare in general and servicing the national debt is the number 53 Trillion dollars.
Recommendations from the panel included a major wake-up call that includes issues associated with raising some taxes, modifying some benifits for younger participants, reform of our health care system, reducing all budgets especially defense and eliminating waste.
As Americans we need to realize that the baby boomer generation is not going to leave this country better for our children. We have maxed out the credit cards. This is evident in the recent fall in oil as the dollar becomes stronger and inventories increase; however, foriegn government are lossing patients with the dollar as other world currencies and inelastic commodity based futures and derivatives provide an alternative to the dollar as world monetary reserve. Unless we get a handle on these big issue (healthcare in particularly), the dollar will slide again and be worth less and less.
There is no way out of this issue without higher taxes. Especially given that nearly 80% of all new wealth generated in the last seven years was aquired by the top 2% of wage earners. That means that the other 20% was shared by the remaining 98%. My grandfather used to say, “That’s like trying to feed the chickens by giving the horses more oats.”
I am a small business owner. I take care of my five employees very well. I will be affected by both changes in payroll taxes and income taxes under Obama’s plan. Under McCain’s I’ll probably do better (after all we are incorporated). I am also a college graduate near the top of my class with a degree in information systems. I have two beautiful children who are counting on our generation to fix this problem.
Democrats can’t do it alone. Republicans can’t do it alone. We have got to get passed this 51% ruling posture where everything because driven by party or ideology. When you govern by ideology, the outcome is already know. It is simple - right or wrong.
News break — it’s not that simple. The world is gray, sure there are some white spots and some black ones but they are few.
So if we are going to solve these issues of our time, maybe the greatest threat to America in her history, we have to do it together through comprise in the gray areas.
To the ignorant people here who use terms like messiah, McWar, the chosen one, McLiar — these are the people that would send their dogs on you because you walked on there grass. These are the same people who call you an idiot because somehow you have a different view.
To those people, stop and take a look at yourselves in the mirror. Listen to your words. They are un American, they are pethetic. Look good, because you are the Problem. Your are the true ignorants.

very good add… It really boggles my mind the McCain followers can’t see just how not a maverick McCain is.
He is the wolf in sheep’s clothing. Iraqi’s enjoy billions of US dollars while millions in the US suffer with high prices. Drill offshore???? how about just send us that $79 billion oil surplus Iraq????
Obama is an idiot. Lets tax the hard working folks of this country so I can give handouts to the lazy ones. Not only that, I will steal oil company’s money, which will make your 401k go down, so I can revitalize the failed social security. Soon America will be socialized, and some lazy crack head will get my hard earned money
I think this would be the proper time to point out that large federal aid programs did not get us out of the great depression… WW2 did
Obama is offering nothing more than FDR’s plans, with a little more socialism. Redirecting money from the rich to the poor just means the rich will invest less and will hurt our economy more in the long run.
and KC is my new best friend for pointing out the seldom regarded fact that congress controls pretty much everything about how the economy goes. I was just posting the same thing over on the CNN blogs yesterday and the response I got was, “shut up republican!!” lol
it’s too bad that obama supporters don’t know what to do when confronted with simple facts listed in the first couple of pages of the constitution…
John McCain has no more to do with the current economic conditions than Obama does. Both have been in office during this time, so it seems a bit hypocritical for Obama to claim high ground on this issue.
The reality that most Democrats conveniently ignore, or choose to deny, is that the US economy has done very well under President Bush, with the exception of external factors (i.e. terrorist attacks, corporate accounting scandals, sub-prime lending, energy, etc.). None of these factors was under President Bush’s control, though he did demonstrate superior leadership than the Clinton administration on each issue, most of which were brewing and coming to a head during the Clinton years.
Obama had better revisit reality when looking at his own economic plan.

It is Typical for Conservatives, to respond to things they do not want to hear, by name calling and using slander. I am quite used to this. And this is the best you got????? You have made my day!!!!
THANKS!!!!!!!
Who cares if McCain voted for some of Bush’s policies, he’s a rebublican senator. McCain has a very good voting record, refusing some policies because they were full of ear marks, later saying yes when he thought they were better. He said no to drilling off shore when we didnt have an oil crisis, now we are in a crisis he thinks off shore drilling has to be considered (like any sane person). he initially said no to the tax cuts, but then realised that it was worth it. why would anyone think that raising taxes now is a great idea. our economy needs all the money pumped into it by us, not the government wasting more money as you know its never going to reach who it is intended to.
Our economy was booming after 9/11 (even though there was a downturn from the dot.com bust) and housing was over inflated etc., the bubble had to burst and when it does everybody cries wolf and blames bush for all their problems. McCain will sort out our economy (espeically if he has Romney in his administation - hopefully as VP) and he will also be a strong commander in chief with our other problems in the world like Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and now Russia.
Obama is nothing more than a well-spoken mouthpiece for his ignorant puppet masters. When Osama I mean Obama does not have a script he talks out of his arse. I believe if elected it would be a devastating blow to this United States. If anyone has been paying attention whenever he counters his opponents through political ads or statements he takes the same position as his opponents, only a day late. Moreover, if he makes a statement first he usually changes his position after his opponent releases a statement. I hope that common sense wielding Americans will be able to see through the charisma, smoke and mirrors and reailize this man is not good for this country. Bush had more experience governing and look where we are today. I would also like to mention things in this country worsened after a democrat congress elected. Remember “Smoke & Mirrors”.
Obama is slamming McCain for spending money in Iraq?? Seems that Obama voted yea on the recent June 26th Senate vote to spend 162 billion in Iraq and Afghanistan contained the 2008 War Supplemental Bill.

—————————————————————————————————————-
You are right. Obama’s actions do speak louder than words. Considering he has voted REPEATEDLY in favor of the People and support of the Veterans of the UNLAWFUL War in Iraq. You say he has voted based on his party and not willing to cross the party lines. Well maybe you should look at what he has voted for. He has stayed on course with his values. Those values that support the need to make this country Great again. Not a country that criticizes its citizens because they can not afford gas and food. But a country that recognizes that no matter how well an individual does. The country is not great if the masses are suffering. You people don’t understand that the taxes Obama has proposed are on those that CAN afford them, so we can relieve the taxes on those that can’t. Because NO Matter what the Republicans say, Taxes are a Necessary “Evil”. And after all the years of War, in a country that posed NO immediate threat to US, we have to pay a higher tax until our depts get payed off. I personally believe that those responsible for the war and those that Profited from it the most should have to pay the dept. Bush, Cheny, McCain, Rumsfeld. Because each of these had contributed to the lies that were told to the American people. And whether it was through Oil or Haliburton type support, each one had benifited greatly From those lies. And Yes McCain Was partially responsible for the Belief that Iraq was involved with 9\11, When he went on Letterman and told the People that it was THOUGHT that the Anthrax came from Iraq, When there was NO proof or even an informant that supported this belief.
To Michael From Atlanta - I thought it was the liberals job to start name calling as soon as they are called out on something or someone says something they don’t want to hear?? Ahh liberals….some things will never change.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. Obama will run this country into the ground with his socialist ideas on fixing our economy. Great idea to redistribute the wealth in this country to the homeless drug addict on the street. That’s just where I want even more of my paycheck to go. I would love to give more of my HARD EARNED money the unmotivated welfare sucking pieces of garbage with 6 kids driving their Cadillac Escalades who can’t even afford to pay their subsized section 8 rent that equates to $20 a month…. Thanks Barrack you’re truly going to save our economy!
McCain has yet to explain anything but continue a senseless WAR. He has bashed Obama continously. I guess that’s what you do when you don’t have any plans for our country. McCain at one time had my vote, but his constant whining is very annoying. Now I’m voting for someone that has vision. Thanks McCain…..GO OBAMA!!!!!!
If anyone wants to see glipses of the train wreck that is about to occur if Obama is elected President you only need to look to Massachusetts.
Deval Patrick’s campaign was run by the same person that is running Obama’s campaign.
Both has the same empty campaign retoric like: “Hope” and “Change”. Deval’s big one was “Yes We Can!”
Deval won and now we are stuck with this idiot who’s only goal now is to kiss Obama’s butt enough to get into his cabinet.
Look beyond the empty rhetoric and look into FACTS about Obama:
- Had the most liberal voting record in the Senate
- Has very little experience in national government and forign affairs.
- Sat in that angry, american hating church for 20 years
- Wants bigger government programs that require more money (higher taxes)
I’m not in love with McCain either, but he doesn’t have the above for his resume.
If McCain gets Romney on his ticket. Being from the wackey Democratic state of Massachusetts I saw what a true leader like Romney could do…even with everyone against him in government. America would be lucky to have Romney working for them.
Obama wants to send 824 billion dollars to other countries for humanitarian aid. How does that help the people of the U.S. He wants a government program for basically everything imaginable. He wants to tax oil companies more and people making a good living more. He wants to take the money from the “evil” oil companies and give it to the poor. His entire energy plan is about conservation and developing alternative energy. Do you realize that the oil compnaies paid 3X their profit in taxes to the government? Doesn’t that make the government more “evil” than the oil companies? Alternative energy is a great idea, but last time I checked, we don’t have a solution at this point. He is nothing but a soccialist and all his policies are designed to redistrbute wealth. He wants government run universal health care system. Look how efficiently the government runs things now. I bet their healthcare will be top notch. Just look at Britain and Canada. I am not saying that McCain has all the aswers or that you should vote for McCain. What I am saying is that Obama has all the WRONG answers. Unless of course you are for socialism and redistributing income. A vote for Obama means that you want something from the government for nothing. What happened to people working hard and bettering themselves? Why should someone be rewarded by the government for sitting on their bottom all day while the rest of us have to go out and work our bottoms off to make a good life for ourselves. The more the government gives away for free, the worse off our nation will be. I guess maybe I am just an ignorant American because I only know how to speak English.
WOW I SAY WE DO NOTHING SINCE THE LIBERALS HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS TO ARE ENERGY PROBLEMS…I GUESS IF WE DON’T DRILL THE LEFT WILL COME UP WITH ARE NEW ENERGY HMMM TOMORROW OR 10 YEARS FROM NOW…MAYBE 30YEARS FROM NOW… AHH WHAT THE HELL WE CAN WAIT..
Michael from Atlanta.
Please move to California. We already have more tax and spend DEMOs in Georgia than we can afford.
I hear the Blue Kool-Aid tastes better in Los Angles.
Use your Brain, Vote McCain. Energy plan of Obama: Sell you car, buy a llama.
When did our economy fall in the toilet? When the democrats took control of congress. They promised to lower the price of gas, it has doubled since they took control. You think raising taxes will fix our economy? It will cause the buisnesses to leave this country, that should help the economy a lot.
What you people fail to realize (or maybe do, but just don’t care) is the fact that as American we either pay taxes to fund the goverment and policies of our goverment or we borrow the money and go into debt.
Borrowing the money weakens the dollar, it also weakens our standing in the world in terms of economics. People like southern dem do not understand that.
We currently spend billions of dollars on a war that was a lie (Proven time and time again by republican and demcrats) I say it is a lie and I am not taking sides here!
We could spend that money on people (kids and the elderly) here in America. The McCain argument breaks down to the fact he would rather finance wars and let people slide into poverty then anything else.
On the other hand, dems do not see a justification to spending billions of dollars on a fabricated war, a lie by our president! They would rather spend money on American people!
The choice is your’s: Spend the money by borrowing it and go into debt or realocate funds and spend the money to improve American lives and our road structures!
Wake up people! Obama will drive us all into the ground with his plans to raise taxes and use of alternative energy “plans”. I am not a wealthy Republican by any means; in all actuallity I am hard working ambitious lower class Republican so let me speak for those like me. I am tired of the liberal media thriving on politically uneducated people placing blame for our economy’s issues on George Bush. The president is one man that has limited power as set up by our constitution. Lets see.. four years ago our defecit was cut in half and the unemployment rate was much lower. Why? We had a majority of Republicans in our House and Senate!!!! 2/3 VOTE everyone!! Now we are ran by a majority Democrats. As far as energy is concerned… lower class families can’t afford to buy hybrids and will in the end be penalized for this when oil prices skyrocket due to less people using it. For example, a city is in drought so less water is consumed. The city is no longer in a drought and water prices skyrocket because the business suffers from less product being used. And you think it is bad now? Just wait!!!
I do not understand how you (republicans) can place the burden on the democrats to balance the budget/deficit, which requires taxation, and yet label them as socialist and communists. We all use highways, schools, police, hospitals, social security, etc.. These are government funded systems that require tax dollars. The republicans have run up a huge debt with the ongoing Iraq war and we need to get the spending in check… that is going to require taxes. No new taxes will lead this country into a worse economic situation than it is already in… let’s vote McCain and see how low the dollar can go!
LOL!. McSame spokesman says:
“In the Senate, Barack Obama has voted in lockstep with President George W. Bush nearly half the time”. Let me see, are the Republicans trying to paint Obama as the biggest left-wing liberal at the same time as they are accusing him of voting lock-step with Bush?! Just goes to show how these guys make up stuff as they go along. They can’t even keep up with their own lies!
Louise wrote:
“Who cares if McCain voted for SOME of Bush’s policies”
LOL! Louise, let me enlighten you:
10% = “some”; 20% = “some” heck even 30% may = “some”! 95% = “almost EVERY SINGLE ONE! Are you right-wing dittoheads really that ignorant?
Obama can pretend to be an authority on economics to socialists, but not to Americans.
He sells you your own fears and ambition for power over others, repackaged as “hope”.
He shares your desires for a future filled with cheap servants and grateful beggers.
He lusts for your adoration, exhaulting you, to fill you with undeserved self-respect and gratitude.
He offers to sell you (the income of) your neighbor’s kids for your vote.
And you buy it, knowing and hoping that this puts your neighbor’s kids into bondage to you.
Your neighbor feels the same way about your kids.
This is the vision of Obama and socialist regimes throughout time.
In exchange, you get warm feelings on how good and powerful you are. Sick.
To James C., Arizona:
Will you be among the list of nominees for Obama’s VP?

Liberals do the same thing. You should see them on the CNN blogs when I make a point. It’s hilarious. I can’t find what you said. If you want a legitimate response repost it and I’ll respond in a normal manner (I am a conservative but never flame.. I like backing up my points with facts, not name calling)
Last i checked Obama is raising taxes on 250k and up. The 42k was a previous bill, and the Republicans LIED in their previous ad saying about 32k, which means they are pulling strings (shocker).
Will the “REAL” John McCain please come forward?

McCain is a wreck when it comes to energy. All I hear from him is more drilling for oil and more nuclear power plants. Great, yes McCain I totally want us to keep doing old stuff that screws up our kids future. Got anymore innovative ideas that will lead us into prosperity? Didn’t think so.
Hey Doh,Doh Tim; how does having enough power screw up kids future; more jobs, a thriving economy? Dumb Dems for Obama. Take away oil which drives the world economy, take away coal which gives you electric and what do you have Dumb ass? You and your kid will go live out in little house on the prairie _idiot!
TMC CHICAGO, I agree with everything you wrote full heartedly. This is the first time I have uttered these words on a FOX blog, Amazing!
THANK YOU for an unbiase opinion!!!
I’m laughing. T. Boone (Nose) Pickett and Nancy Pelosi are in business together. Can anyone say “Pyramid Scheme?”
A whole lot of ignorant far left liberals are going to be poorer after this scam is done.
No, no. Obama is raising taxes on anyone making 42K a year. You need to check your facts.
Why Obama Cannot Pull Away From McCain:… The main reason is that Barack Obama’s record, throughout his career, demonstrates conclusively that he has never been a reformer, that this image of “change and hope” that he projects is really a great lie. In fact there’s never been a single time in Senator Obama’s political career where he did something that was difficult and would cost him politically for the sake of needed reforms and change.”……

I am not a liberal. I am an independent voter who supports OBAMA.
McCain admitted that he does not know much about the economy. I suppose that is why he was against the Bush Tax cuts before he was for them.
McCain won the Republican Nom
