Obama’s “Aloha Spirit”
Barack Obama and his family and friends (oh and press and Secret Service) landed in the Aloha State for a week long vacation. But before he got a moment of relaxation in, the candidate headed directly to a rally upon landing in Honolulu. at a park overlooking Oahu’s mountains and the city’s skyline.
“Aloha!” Obama said to a couple thousand cheering Hawaiians as he took the stage at a local park overlooking Oahu’s impressive mountains. After thanking several of the state’s politicians who were on hand, Obama said, “I have to tell you guys – I just want to give you a little secret here. I’m actually here on vacation.”
The crowd laughed and cheered, realizing native son Obama will likely blow out John McCain here in the general election, as he handily won the state’s caucuses. Rather than hold more public events like his welcome rally, Obama said he plans to enjoy the local cuisine, visit his grandmother, and spend time with his family on the beach. He joked, “I’m gonna go body surfing in an undisclosed location,” referring to his last visit to the state when a photographer snapped a bare chested Obama emerging from the Hawaiian surf.
The candidate is also expected to hold a high dollar fundraiser here Tuesday and work on his convention speech.”I want you to know that we’re not here to politic. What we’re mainly here to do is to say thank you,” he said.
Before holding the quick rally, Obama had campaigned in 47 states to secure the nomination and then moving into the general election. This marks his first trip to the state he once called home since before his February announcement. The ex-Hawaiian explained his absence. “When I told my staff, ‘I want to go Hawaii,’ they said, ‘No, you can’t do that.’ They said, ‘First of all, Hawaii is too nice and you’re supposed to be working winning the primary. The second thing is, if you don’t win Hawaii, you’re in trouble,’” he joked.
And despite that, the Illinois senator cruised to a lopsided victory over Senator Clinton. “We have volunteers all across the islands. Everywhere we went, people were getting involved and coming out and they were volunteering and knocking doors and making phone calls. And when the caucuses finally came, we had more people caucusing than we had ever seen caucus in Hawaii before,” he said in appreciation.
While he didn’t mention his Republican rival, Obama did give the crowd a taste of his stump speech, briefly touching on energy, foreign policy, and health care. He also praised the state where he grew up. Obama said that people ask him what he took away growing up in what many consider paradise. Here’s what he had to say about his former home state:
I try to explain to them something about the Aloha Spirit. I try to explain to them this basic idea that we all have obligations to each other. That we’re not alone. That if we see somebody who’s in need, we should help. If there’s a child who doesn’t have a decent school, we should help rebuild that school. If there’s someone elderly, then we should make sure that they have a life of comfort and dignity. That we look out for one another, that we deal with each other with courtesy and respect, and most importantly when you come from Hawaii you start understanding that what’s on the surface, what people look like — that doesn’t determine who they are and that the power and strength of diversity. The ability of people from everywhere, whether they’re black or white or whether they’re Japanese Americans or Korean Americans or Filipino Americans – whatever they are - they’re just Americans. And that all of us can work together and all of us can join together to create a better country.

I find the hyphenations of the different cultures of Hawaii to be interesting as well.
1. Define and separate the different cultures.
2. Talk about their unity.
3. And become the “unity” candidate.
It’s almost too easy isn’t it?

Typical, a war breaks out in Georgia and the only one left in town to answer the telephone is McCain (since Clinton is not allowed to pick up). Luckily defusing the extramaritial affair rumours, personal confession to have us talking when Obama is on holiday, may put all worries aside. Like Bush, Obama values his free time, and wars in former Russia or sex scandales might just keep McCain out of spotlight.

Obama has an Hawaiian birth certificate. Where is real & concrete proof that he was actually born there; hospital records, Dr who attended the event, etc? Has this been thoroughly vetted & by whom? Ostensibly he was born shortly after arriving in Hi, father was Kenyan.

I was watching the news on the John Edwards scandal and I was wondering if the timing of the news release was coordinated with the Obama campaign.

Last night the news was covering Obama’s trip to Hawaii so as a retired flight engineer for the US Navy I went to the Boeing web site FAA web site and ran some numbers.
Obama’s plane is a Boeing 757-200 and the flight if flown direct would be 4243 miles Chicago (ORD) to Hawaii’s (HNL) airports or 6,829 kilometers. The plane had a flight crew of 2 cabin crew ? 17 passengers and about 10 security guards paid for by you and me.
His air craft burns about 3406.9 gallons and hour and flight time ORD to LAX because the plane has not the range to get all the way about 5 hours. Then LAX to HNL another 5 hours I gave him a tail wind normal flight can be up to 6 hours.
With that burn and jet fuel prices at $5.85 a gallon his burn one way came to $99651.825 or 17034 gallons of gas. How much do you use a year? So for him and 17 friends and family and the govt. 10 guards at our pay the round trip is $199303.65 just in fuel costs.
The last point from the Web I got was carbon emissions on the flight over 2,379 lbs of Co2 or 1079kg Co2E equal to 1.079 tonnes of pollution.
My question is my car or 7 passanger van now that I cut my driving due to high fuel prices I figure I pay $71.00 a week or 1846.00 a year. I am sure my corbon foot print is a lot less.If you are pushing everyone to cut back don”t you think he should have taken a comerical flight and just taken all the first class seats? THen he could of cabpained in flight and coming back no-stop flight less fuel less C02 per head. Almost all over seas flights are booked. HIs plane had over 100 open seats.

Barrack Obama is not a legal U.S. natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between December 24, 1952, to November 13, 1986.
Federal Law requires that the office of President requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. Citizen parents. This is what exempts John McCain, though he was born in the US Panama Canal Zone .
US Law very clearly states: ‘If only one parent is a U.S. Citizen at the time of one’s birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for minimum ten years, five of which must be after the age of 16.

Barack Obama’s father was not a U.S. Citizen, that is a fact.
Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was born.
This means even though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (citizen of Hawaii being a territory), his mother fails the test for at-least-5-years-prior-to Barack Obama’s birth, but-after-age-16.
In essence, Mother alone is not old enough to qualify her son for automatic US Citizenship. At most, 2 years elapsed from his mother turning 16 to the time of Barack Obama’s birth when she was 18. His mother would have needed to have been 16 + 5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to be a natural-born citizen.
Barack Obama was already 3 years old at the time his mother would have needed to be, to
allow him natural citizenship from his only U.S. Citizen parent. Obama should have been naturalized as a citizen… but that would disqualify him from holding the office.
The Constitution clearly declares: Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President.
Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, any other information does not matter because his mother is the one who must fulfill the requirement to be a US Citizen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16.
Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the USA for some time frame to protect any citizenship he might have had, rather than living in Indonesia ..
This is very clear cut and a glaring violation of US Election law. I think Governor Schwarzenegger of California should be very interested in discovering if Obama is allowed to be elected President without being a natural-born US Citizen, since this would set a precedent.

Your point about McCain being exempted is also false. Here is what article III of the U.S. Constitution says regarding qualifications for the U.S. Presidency:

Yes, Obama had to release two statements on the Georgian war. The first was his cookie cutter template response, suitable for any conflict right down to those on the schoolyard. Then, after someone found the right chapter in the Cliff Notes for the book ‘Foreign Policy for Dummies’ for him, he was able to release something a bit more specific. While Obama is in Hawaii he would be advised to pick up a certified copy of his real birth certificate (if one exists). The electronic version posted on his website is obviously a forgery.

“Eligible” and “qualified” are not the same thing. If you are basing Obama’s qualifications on Article II of the Constitution, then we have approximately 300 million citizens who are qualified to be president of the United States.
