Paris responds to “Celeb” ad (with Camp McCain reaction!)

Did we really expect her to avoid the spotlight? Paris Hilton is out with her first response to the “Celeb” ad the McCain campaign released last week in which the Republican attempted to compare Barack Obama to the hotel heiress.

Wearing a bikini and heels, Hilton thanks McCain (whom she calls “that wrinkly white-haired guy”) for the endorsement and declares her own candidacy in a video release on the web site funnyordie.com.

“I’m not from the olden days and I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot,” she says before delivering an unusually eloquent explanation of her energy plan, which she refers to as a “hybrid” of the two candidates’ plans. “I want America to know that I’m, like, totally ready to lead.”

Per usual, the always quick McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds is out with an immediate reaction from Arlington.

“It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain’s ‘all of the above’ approach to America’s energy crisis - including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan,” Bounds said in a statement

I’ve gotta hand it to the McCain campaign. If the sky was blue and Obama said so, their “quick comeback” would say that John McCain still believes the sky is purpose but at least Obama got one color right of what combines to make purple.

The day we hear political operatives and spokesperson act mature in political campaigns will be the day hell freezes over.

If there is any truth to this, Paris is set for life.

Paris may not be quite as inexperienced as Obama- at least her energy plan sounds good. She probably isn’t ready to run for president- How about being John McCain’s VP? She could pull in some of the Hillary voters that want a woman in office, and pick up some of the young voters as well.

She is so lame and that wasn’t even funny. Both of these campaigns have no substance so they resort to these kind of tactics. Though this was not endorsed by Barry it is still at his intelligence level.

Paris Hilton thinks she is hot! I am glad she think so. She’s skinny & has a needle nose and if she wasn’t a Hilton she would be nothing. I had to say this after reading her comments over the McCain ad calling him a wrinkled gray haired guy. It was unnecessary for her to start name calling. I am sure her mom and dad would be grayhaired and wrinkled it they didn’t pay for their looks. Grow up Paris!

Hey Becca,
There is nothing humerous about Paris Hilton. She is an embarassment to women. Nothing more than a rich privileged kid.

Comment by don

She really stuck it to the old war monger ! At least she can memorize a line or two.

Comment by tee

One thing I must say, I never expected this type of response from Paris. Too funny! Glad she spoke out. Rather silly of McCain to use her in a campaign ad, but it proves that McCain only campaign strategy is to badly attack Obama. Seems to me, McCain is only making himself look bad. I am not pro-Obama nor am I pro-McCain, but I must say after seeing Paris’ ad the score is now:

Barack Obama – 2
John McCain – a zero

Comment by Cheryl

ROFL! That was like totally funny. At least she didn’t just get all mad and make a public rant like her mama. She recognized the humor in McCain’s ad (which is more than you can say for Obama’s camp) and responded in kind. Good job Paris. I’m gonna like you yet. Darnit!

Comment by georgie

well, it just shows even hilton has more brains than obama! you go girl!

Comment by Republican

Her ad is less juvenile than some of the McCain ad’s. Tucker Bound’s comment is hilarious, it’s as if he never watched the video. Is he running for President or host for the Jerry Springer Show. I cant bear the thought of watching the first debate and how McCain plans to handle his lack of substance.

Comment by Chris

This is great. She summed up McCains energy policy and made Obama look dumber than her all in one ad. LOL. This is rich, she has more experience that Obama.

Republicans are having fun while the america people are struggling with a serious economic situation.
They are demostrating very little concern over the welfare of the working class and poorer forks who are finding it hard to survive.

Why some conservatives as they label themselves. are so ignorant and cynical .. by the way , just saying you are a conservative means you put yourself in a restrained group of ideology.what surprise me is the level of tolerance and ignorane that rants this concept. it is devaluating how people would not take the time to analyze any subject matter without lowing people’s ideas down.

I am delighted that paris hilton’s mother publicity denounced that stupid ad of john mccain’s. I am another voter that used to have a great deal of respect for john mccain but now he look like an old out dated clown being manulipated by the republican party and after george bush embarresed him by talking about that child that he adopted and talked about him so terrible in the 2000 election and totally disrespected him, he comes off now as an old old outdated puppet being pulled and jerked and looking down right stupid .like hilton said people are suffering and he is standing there looking like a fool talking about he is having fun. he needs to go home sit down and at least let a republican with some semblence of intelligence run if we have to put up with republicans. you other republicans really should be ashame for putting that man up there.

Comment by Sad Sack

If you look at all other news outlets…none approached the story in the same fashion that fox has..
FOX chose to attack Paris and Obama, instead of the people who did the ad in the first place.

Then you(fox) try to compliment Tucker Bounds with this comment..
“Per usual, the always quick McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds is out with an immediate reaction from Arlington.”

Where is the impartial view that a news station is supposed to give.

I guess that’s why this site has so few visitors.. 10-20 comments.. wow.

CNN has 500 comments from viewers on the same story.
“Fair and Balanced” to who?
I’m sure this won’t get posted, but at least the guy reviewing it will get a “real” view of the company he works for..truly sad.

Wait wait… people are taking anything that Paris Hilton, the drama queen of drama queens seriously? Why is this news? Sure, pretty girl, but as cruel as it sounds I have to wonder if she even knows how to spell celebrity. But, this is also a good example of the problems iwth Democrat Party Candidates at the top, they are the celebrity candidate. Someone saw that someone like Paris who has never taken anything but her own celebrity serious in her, and that the masses were glued to watching people like this for some bizarre reason… case in point, anyone bothering to comment on anything that Paris Hilton said as if this were a credible expert or a recluse expressing outrage at anyone daring to point at them for anything. Quite the opposite really. But, this is the type of candidates that the DNC puts out there, prepacked, image controlled, scripted interviews and Q&A, large evens without answers, stay away from interviewers who might challenge their postion. You half expect a little dog to rip the curtain way to expose David Axelrod or Rich Daley pulling the strings. They are all just like Paris Hilton, media Hogs with high priced media consultants, who spend $400 a pop on haircuts in Beverly Hills, and have a stylist to pick out their wardrobe.

So again… why is any of this news?

Comment by Karyn Bergen

Until Paris Hilton lives a ‘real’ life like the rest of us and worries about high gas prices, the high price of food, and gets a ‘real’ job, what she says and does is irrelevent

Comment by Can see the forest

Paris and Nobama - neither one can claim any great accomplishements. Both without substanance…

Comment by Haha

John McCain’s ad was ridiculus. So Paris Hilton has responded with an equally ridiculous ad. What do you expect?

It only goes to show that McCain (not Obama) will sink to ANY depths in an attempt to discredit a LEADER.

It is NOT ABOUT CELEBRITY. It is about someone who has the ability to inspire people. In the “old days”, we called this a trait of LEADERSHIP.

Sorry McCain, you lack leadership qualities - which include the ability to inspire, the ability to form teams and seek advice from many experts. No executive (president or CEO) has all the answers in his personal experience. In the end, the president makes the decision, but he does not limit the input into the decision.

McCain could take a lesson from all this. This is a different election. It is not about occassionally crossing political lines (based on one opinion - McCain’s), but to seek the best solution using all the resources available (or that one gathers) - and LEAD.

Comment by Sandy

I loved the ad, and I’m an Obama supporter. As far as I am concerned, I hope the McCain campaign continues to run frivilous ads. I hope he continues to attack Obama on personal issues. It’s a win for Obama every time.

So she was able to parrot her adviser. How does that equate to her “getting it”?

Comment by thomas

Cheryl,

The only problem is this is a presidental election. Let’s focus on the issues, and how the respective candidates will address them. We could spend all this time until November demonizing the other side, but will we be better off as a country? In all honesty is Obama the new guy, most certainly. Then you have to think, McCain has been in congress for 26 years and in a way directly reasonable for the failures of congress during that period.

I for one would love to see term limits on congressional seats. The thing is, congress won’t pass a legislation that puts them out of a job. Imagine if the Presidental seat was a life time appointment. We somehow learned that was a bad idea, yet Congress slips by each year patting themselves on the back.

I would think after 26 years of failed efforts, we need to bring in a person that hopefully will bring some new ideas to the table.

This ad was in no way a win for obama. Paris made him look more stupid than he already looks. If there was a choice to vote for Paris or obama, Paris would have my vote hands down! Not to make obama look any worse than he already does, but she did the ad without a telepromter!!!! AND she didn’t stutter or stammer!!!!

Ad was “hilarious”. The “wrinkly white-haired dude” comment great. Both Paris and John McCain got some good press out of this. Unlike the “chosen one” McCain probably got a good laugh out of this. The “Messiah” would of come out screaming like a “banshee” accusing someone of playing the race card. Next time, have J. McCain, Hillary Clinton, Paris, and Brittany do something together. That would be great. Thanks Paris, you gave “my man McCain”, some free exposure. Great job and keep it light.

Comment by wvu2743

Paris’ energy proposal actually makes sense and indicates an “all-of-the-above, oil-as-a-bridge” approach, which is the most logical energy avenue available. She certainly doesn’t support or endorse John McCain but is still touting his energy proposals almost lock-step in the ad, even if she’s not aware she’s doing it. Amazing that someone with such (seemingly) limited intelligence could divine a better energy plan than the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent messiah and leader of the new world order (in his own mind anyway), the lord Barack Obama.

Comment by bigmouthfrog

Personally, I am amazed she was able to memorize her lines. That gives her an edge on Barack who is lost without his teleprompter.

That was a good jab at McCain, but …… Paris was very confused to find out Sen. McCain had stayed at the Hanoi Hilton. “Gee….I didn’t know we had a hotel there…. do they have a pool ??!!”

It’s heroes like Sen. McCain that allow people like Paris and her writers to this free speech.
God bless all US vets.
