I have witnessed the expressions of at least one person that thinks Jimmy Carter was an effectual President. Effectual in the respect that he was a positive force for our country. Mr. Carter was, as judged by history and quite a few of the intellect, a miserable failure as a President.

In many cases it does take time for policy to make it's intended effect. It has been proven a few times that great leaders can endure when they are successful in crafting policy and surrounding themselves with sound minded advisers. The American people can see the fruits of sound leadership when they are given the information they need.

It was Carter's policy that gave us the leadership that exists in Iran today. He sacked the Shaw and left the barn door open for the pigs. He was a dismal failure when it came to the Iranian hostage situation. In fact, he made so many poor decisions, any good ones were sunk by the bad. I remember his administration.

Jimmy Carter has gone down as the worst American President, and that's saying something when you look back to Kennedy and Johnson. Kennedy gave Cuba to Castro by breaking his promise in the "Bay of Pigs" fiasco. I think a lot of people believe we should not have been in Viet Nam. I fall in that category. But the fact remains that we lost over 58,000 American lives and gave in to Pol Pot when he admits they were defeated. That's all a credit to Kennedy and Johnson.

But about saving the oil for our grandchildren. It makes no sense to base our immediate future on that way of thinking. The grandchildren are affected right now by our decisions made right now. It behooves us to take care of them presently in all means available. That means developing our other resources. One problem that faces RD&D though, is having the resources at hand to further that development. Red China is partnering with Cuba to drill for the oil that we are saving. The oil lies between Florida and Cuba and is within our territory. They will angle drill it... but we will save it.

Everyone (mostly) has a position on energy development and we should not be too extreme in our judgment, because their's is different than ours. We should, however, strive to communicate our views in such a manner that it can be received and digested by others. I know that I fail in that category much too often.

Only one foreseeable problem to the McCain plan:

How does he propose to get the nuclear plants, new drilling, and any expansion of existing refineries past the environmentalist wackos that will block them at every turn with lawsuits so that it will be too expensive for anyone to even attempt to build them?

Does he think the Democrats are going to just lay down and agree with him?
That only happens during an election year when they find themselves on the wrong side of the issue

The ongoing discussion about energy sources and needed expansion of all activities should not be a discussion...it should be an action plan....started at the time Bush said ...let's do it....for the security and independence of america. It is simply disgusting to see just how political this common sense approach has become to Obama...to Pelosi...and dems. It is as if an independent...a dem...and a repub has a total different view on national security....and how to make america independent as much as possible from foreign influences by oil supply and demand and other world influences. You would think this is a "no brainer"...have our own supply...convert over to it...decrease the influence of third world upon our nation...keep the money here not going to people who hate us or use our wealth to subvert our way of life. Seems simple to me...do everything..but why ..why does some groups suggest that we as a nation CAN NOT GO NUKE...NO DRILLING...WHY ARE WE ALLOWING ANY GROUP (GREEN TYPES) TO INFLUENCE OUR OWN SECURITY????...Lobbying at its absolute WORST!!! ....and Obama and the dems say there are no influences from lobbyists...total falsehood. These are really simple issues to me but the convoluted pathways used by the Obama..Pelosi..dems to stop this enhansed domestic/economic security process is not just far fetched.....off the wall...but just plain stupid......"save the world"????? Unbelieveable!!! And this represents to party in control of congress??...seems like a "change" needs to occur ASAP.

America will never be independent in todays world until it is "Energy Independent".

Drill for Oil
N Plant
Natural Gas
Coal
Refinery
Solar

Will make us 10 times stronger and the bonus is that we will once again be an industrial power; a pool of labor workers. But then again here comes the unions for their power needs.

And somebody needs to ask T. Boone: "What happens when we run out of wind?" In case you alternative energy freaks don't know it, but there are still days when there is no wind, and cloudy days when there is no sun. . .

If you listen closely, you can hear the wind blowing between T. Boone's ears. . .

Even if Obama's entire Energy plan was absolutely nothing but encouraging Americans to use the proper tire pressure, it would still beat McCain's plan; which by the way is whatever Bush leaves for him in a note on the desk.

Drilling for oil on American soil, and in our soveirgn areas is exactly what we need! Supply and demand is what keeps economics in line for those of you that DO NOT KNOW THIS!!!

Opening up the drilling would create THOUSANDS of jobs for AMERICANS, and help keep the AMERICAN DOLLARS being sent to foreign nations and enemy nations for their oil would help drive us to a surplus. Why would we continue to do what OBAMA ORIGINALLY WANTED TO DO before his FLIP FLOP and keep buying oil FROM OUR ENEMIES and middle eastern counterparts?????

In my opinion American jobs, American securities, and less money to our enemies is a PLUS!!!!!

Sure there is negatives to drilling, BUT there is negatives to eating a hamburger! So get over it you OBAMAmites...

Do whats right for your country and not your party, thats been the problem with democrats for years and years!

DRILL FOR OIL, and DRILL NOW!!!

NObama is a lost cause, and has not a single clue that his electric cars could not be supplied by OUR POWER GRID, calculate that NoBAMA! BESIDES YOURE WIFE IS RACIST!!!

Which brings up another topic........ How can Obama say Mccain and the repubs are playing the race card when its only 2% of black voters supporting John Mccain??? THAT is a racist issue if you ask me!!!

OK, people. A little lesson on economics...More Supply with less demand = lower price. More demand with less supply = higher price. If we drill more, we will have access to a larger supply. Just the announcement of lifting the ban, ALONE, will send the price of oil down. It's not rocket science. I am showing my support of this on my gas guzzler...you should too! Check out

Why on earth would you not show your support loud and clear... the Democrats need to get the message!!!!!!!
