Happy Birthday Barack
The 1,500 people who showed up to hear Barack Obama talk about energy greeted the Democrat with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Obama smiled, and joked, “There is no place I would rather be on my birthday than Lansing, Michigan. And I know there’s a cake back there somewhere.”
To celebrate his 47th birthday, Obama hit the gym this morning before flying in his campaign plane to Lansing, where the candidate accused McCain of helping big oil and neglecting the energy crisis during his 26 years in Washington.
No word yet if Obama will enjoy birthday cake today, but the present from three of his closest staffers - senior strategist Robert Gibbs, trip director Marvin Nicholson, and body guy Reggie Love - is “tootling around” somewhere in Chicago according to Gibbs.
The gift, along with Nicholson’s luggage, is in the trunk of a Chicago taxi cab and yet to be located. Per Gibbs, Nicholson took the taxi to his Chicago hotel last night, where the hotel regular was greeted by hotel employees standing outside. As Nicholson shook their hands and chatted, the cab driver unknowingly departed with the goods in tow.
Because Gibbs is hopeful it will be recovered, he wouldn’t reveal what the missing gift actually is, only saying it was of value. Wearing the same suit he donned yesterday, Nicholson too refused to reveal the gift. Last year the trio gave Obama an ipod for his birthday.
Later Obama heads to Boston to hold a fundraiser and will overnight at a Youngstown Hampton Inn.

Barack is only 47 and McCain will be 72. So I think with age, McCain is way better candidate and can take pressure better than Barack.

Excuse me it was Obama that voted to give the oil company money over a million and he is now taking up McCain’s policies of drilling offshore and giving tax breaks to businesses. But that is assuming he doesn’t flip flop and say he is against it again. I can say one thing, his fed tax break for low incomes is a joke, low incomes always get their taxes back and if they have kids about $500.00 more for each one so who the heck is paying the taxes? Oh yeah, higher incomes and businesses. So what tax break will the lower incomes get? So every person out there getting those extra bucks they did not pay in are getting them from companies and higher income workers, it is their money they worked for and now Obama wants more of it to give to the lower incomes. Come on, do what I did get another job and earn your own money. If you want more money get off your butts and go earn it.

This just shows how successful the Republicans have been at demonizing Senator Obama.
However it won’t work this time, just like it didn’t work when FOX news tried to demonize Bill Clinton during his re-election campaign, because when people make unnecesary and unwarranted negative comments about a candidate. It energizes and encourages that candidate’s supporters to ensure that more people vote for him.

Often Senators reject bills they would on the surface support; the problem may be that there was a stipulation(s)/issue(s), re: budget or department (basically pork) that gets tucked more deeply into a seemingly straight-forward bill that ultimately caused Senators like Obama to reject an issue they would otherwise support. This is one of the most frustrating thing about being a law-maker. This is the kind of thing that stops-up the Senate. This is one of the very things Obama wants to change… And how? By inspiring people within the Senate to work together. He can do it! I believe in whom God has created him to be.
