“Wild Barack” Ready To Duel McCain on Taxes
SPRINGFIELD, Mo - At his first event with everyday American voters since returning from his trip abroad, Barack Obama evoked a distinctly American icon to challenge John McCain on his tax policies.
“I was just reading that Wild Bill Hickock, he had the first duel in the town square here in Springfield,” he said, referring to the Old West gunslinger. “The family legend is, is that Wild Bill Hickock, he’s a distant cousin of mine. I’m serious!”
Obama, who’s also said to be distantly related to actor Brad Pitt and Vice President Dick Cheney, said he’s not sure if the legend is true. “We’re going to research that, because I’m ready to duel John McCain on taxes,” he told the cheering crowd. “Quick draw!”
McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds thinks the proposal is a little ironic. “If Barack Obama wants this so-called duel,” then why did he and his entourage run for the hills when John McCain challenged him to ten town halls?” he asks.
Elsewhere at the town hall meeting, Obama used his rhetorical six-shooter to blast McCain on everything from the economy to energy, accusing McCain of pushing for 4 more years of Bush policies. “John McCain thinks that we’re basically on the right track. He does! He’s said that our economy has made great progress in the last eight years,” he said. “He has embraced the Bush economic policies and promises to continue them. Same policies as George Bush!”
But it wasn’t just McCain’s economic policy that came in for criticism. The Illinois Senator claimed his rival’s entire electoral argument is based not on the merits of his policies, but on making people fear the presumptive Democratic nominee. “For the last 2 months, all they’ve been doing is attacking me, right?” said Obama. “His last ad he was blaming me for high gas prices.”
“Nobody really thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face. So what they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me. ‘Oh, He’s not patriotic enough. He’s got a funny name. He doesn’t look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills.’”
Obama said McCain and the GOP can only hope to make him seem like a risk. “The argument is, ‘I know you don’t really like what we’re doing, but he’s risky,’” he said. “What’s more risky? Going ahead and bringing about changes that we know we have to make in order to ensure our children have a better future, or doing the same things that we’ve been doing over and over again even though we know they don’t work?”
Obama continues to tour the Show Me state today, holding another town hall meeting in Rolla before winding up at a barbeque in Union.

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t wait!! McCain’s got nothing, and even if he does, he won’t remember it!!!!
Nice headline, Fox News. Keep trying.
I can’t wait! McCain’s got nothin’. And if he did, he won’t remember it!!
While Mr. Obama would like the electorate to think he is running against George Bush and John McCain, he’s not. He’s running against John McCain. 4 years ago John McCain had the courage to oppose the president in the Republican presidential primaries. He and Mr. Bush have never been political allies.
Mr. Obama’s claim to be a distant cousin of an American hero is nice, but people should keep in mind the John McCain is an American hero, as was his father, and granfather.
I would prefer a little less WILD. Wish he would have a town hall meeting WITH MCCain.
[...] as “reckless” and the invitation to debate taxes with John McCain. A Fox News Blog is just eating up what he said about Wild Bill Hickok, [...]
mccain is a piece of trash. why would you support someone that beat his wife and is one of the Keating Five felons?
Anyone who believes anything Obama says is mentally challenged. His promises are empty lies. He remains critical of the Bush administration and uses that to make people think his “changes” are the answer to your prayers. Everything Obama offers means tax increases. What Obama offers is far worse than anything experienced in the Bush administration. For that matter, anything Obama offers will be worse than anything anyone living now has experienced.
Vote Obama and forget any constitutional rights; No right to bear arms, no freedom, no freedom of speach, your religion will be of Obama’s choice. The government will own you.
And Obama plays the race card again.
“He doesn’t look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills.”
Yep. All the Republicans are racist. Anyone who doesn’t vote for BO is a racist.
Obama plays the race card again.
“He doesn’t look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills.”
Yep. All Republicans are racist. If you don’t vote for BO you’re racist. If he doesn’t get elected it’s because America is racist. Boo.
http://bensguide.gpo.gov/9-12/government/national/congress2.html
Now if you go to this site you will see that congress is the reason we are in the mess we are in.
The Constitution grants Congress “all legislative powers” in the national government. Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution lists a wide range of congressional powers, including:
Coining money.
Maintaining a military.
Declaring war on other countries.
Regulating interstate and foreign commerce
Congress also controls federal taxing and spending policies—one of the most important sources of power in the government. The Constitution also gives Congress the authority to “make all laws which shall be necessary and proper,” an implied source of power sometimes called the Elastic Clause.
In addition to the power described above, Congress shares powers with the president in matters such as, framing U.S. foreign policy and control over the military. For example, while the president negotiates treaties, they are only put into effect once the Senate approves them. Also, while Congress can declare war and approve funds for the military, the president is the commander-in-chief of the military
So if congress is the one who does the taxing, the federal spending and makes the laws as well as in control of commerce be it here or foreign then who is responsible for what? Oh yeah shift the blame instead of admit it is them. Congress is the reason we have such a bad ecconomy. Also note, two companies are coming back to two diffrent states that offered tax breaks from out sourcing. Why, you might ask, because they can make their product cheaper here with the tax breaks. Then you have Obama with his let’s add more taxes on them. Where do you think these companies will go if he does, along with alot more companies? You should also note that due to the cut in gas usages the fed and state have less road taxes and may have to add anothe 2 taxes, one for the states and one for the feds. But remember Obama does not want offshore or any other drilling nor do the Dems. They say drill on the lands you have leases on while oil companies keep telling them THERE IS NO
OIL. So what we have is a congress run by Dems who have the attitute of my way or no way and in the mean time we, the tax payers pay for it. They do not care that we want drilling as well as everything else because they know what is best for us and we are all retarded or something.
I’m thinking Hillary’s disaffected supporters would have preferred it if Obama had aligned himself with Annie Oakley…

Yep! But I still want to see Obama’s original Birth Certificate. He can chose any character as his ancestors but why did he show a fake COLB on his anti smear website.
McCain 08 and Mike Huckabee as his VP! We need leaders not want a bees.
hey chuck, where do you get “vote obama and forget any constitutional rights; no right to bear arms, no freedom, no freedom of speech, your religion will be obama’s choice. the government will own you”? what planet do you live on? must be way out in the deepest part of the solar system. the george bush/dick cheney crime family has already done all that. we have less freedom today because of bush policies of domestic spying, rendition, torture, etc. as far as tax increases go, where do you think the money for roads, bridges, and all our country’s infrastructure comes from? the tooth fairy? get real chuck, conservatives have nothing positive or productive to offer americans and their future. it’s all tax cuts for the rich and an elimination of the middle-class threat to the rich power structure. conservatives are all about themselves and their money-grubbing while at least democrats attempt to help those less fortunate than themselves. conservatives would never think of such a thing.
mccain said his campagin would not go negative, he lied.if he’s such a maverick as everyone seems to think he is he should get rid of his handlers and start anew.

I agree, who the hell is this guy?
Also, note, Wild Bill was a circus performer — is Barack from the same line of work? What a clown!
If Barack is soooooooooo eager for debate, he could have taken McCain’s challenge ten town halls ago — but he could not perform like the ballerina he is before cameras and a teleprompter, so Barack chickened out! Now he wants everybody to think he has the testosterone (he must have had a transfusion) to take a real man on. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!
My advice to McCain, ignore Barack’s histrionics. Barack will just do some more pirouettes in front of the cameras and let the news anchors wash his feet before prayers.
Is Uncle Obama truly retarded? McCain will beat the “Black” off of B.H.O. Cannot wait to see the studdering Mesiah get whoop in the school yard. Bring it on kool-aid drinkers.
Are we whinning?

Where can I find the text of Obama’s speech in Springfield today (7/20)?
B & M Obama are not proud of this country, they call the citizens names,
-but- Don’t feel bad for them, if elected they will change all that,
and if your ass or the constitution gets in the way, too bad…
McCain is too old. I am a republican and we should have nominated Hukabbee or Romney. This old man snuck up from behind and captured the ticket. I am disttraught and ashamed. He is past his prime. How is it that retirement is 65 and this guy is clocking over 70 and seeking power. There is a reason for that 65. He will further deteriorate the USA after Mr Bush’s mess up. What is going on here. I am leaving the party. There is a time for every thing. Old men should not lead a vigorous nation. Check out Mozambique and Mugabe. Old men in power think they are god because they feel every thing belongs to them. Unlike younger people who will feel the effects of their handiwork later after political life is over, older leaders assume the have the wisdom when in reality they believe the nation is their possession. McCain is a really bad choice if you ask me and I should not stand with him simply because I am a republican. Nation before party is where I stand.
“Wild B.O.” Ready to Duel….
What a Cartoon…
B.O. could not arm wrestle Rainbow Bright and Win.
I am fed up with most all politicians and their posturing.
Nancy P stood up and said that we now had a Democratic controlled congress and gas prices were going to go down. They were about $2.00 per gallon at the time. No one is holding her feet to the fire. Barrack O, Hilary C and John M are senators. How many votes have they missed while running for higher office? If I skipped doing my job to try to get a more important one, I would not even have my first job. (Note: At least John M. is a true hero and patriot who has served his country “In Harm’s Way” and has bucked the established ways of thought regardless of party affiliation. Hard to argue with that.)
Wake up people. It is all about power and control. We need changes not empty words and promises. Let’s get the tax code eliminated and put in the flat tax for starters. Then let’s do some more to eliminate the abuse and manipulation going on behind the scenes to gain an advantage for this or that group, and start doing what is good for America as a whole!
These are our employees. Control their actions with our votes and voices.
[...] McCain campaign is accusing Sen. Obama of playing the “race card” for stating yesterday that the presumptive Republican nominee was engaging in fear tactics and [...]
SO — How many more famous or well-known personalities is Obama going to claim as a “distant relative” ?? This is beginning to sound ridiculous. I notice he is obviously ‘playing the race card’ by claiming kinship only to white people. I’m always skeptical of ‘name droppers’. Obama may be a really fine young man — I certainly don’t know — but everything he says points to his inexperience. Did he ever take a course in economics? Regarding his reference to looking different to “all those people whose faces are on the dollar bill”….. doesn’t he know there is only one face on the dollar bill ….. that of President Lincoln? –
Hey Shirley
If Obama has such a good plan for energy why does he not put his money where is mouth is and debate McCain. Its because he probably can’t remember what he said last week and is afraid the Old Man McCain might show him up. Drill here Drill now and lower my gas prices so I do not have to park my SUV and Obama wants me to. I don’t need MY TAXES Raised so he can have us rely on alternative fuels- - no Nuclear Plants, No new Drilling for oil, the only thing he has going for him is wind power and he has enough wind to supply each and everyone of us enough power to run our houses for a hundred years by himself!!!!
