Britney, Paris, Barack!
Comparing his Democratic rival to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, Sen. McCain is up with a punchy new ad in that questions Sen. Obama’s readiness for the Oval Office.
“He’s the biggest celebrity in the world. But is he ready to lead?” the announcer asks, as images of Spears, Hilton and Obama appear on the screen and the “Obama, Obama” chant from his Berlin speech plays in the background.
The spot, “Celeb,” which makes heavy use of the wide shots of the 200,000+ crowd from the Democrat’s speech in Germany last week, then goes on to rebuke Obama for his opposition to offshore drilling and willingness to raise taxes on a handful of energy sources.
“With gas prices soaring, Barack Obama says no to offshore drilling. And, says he’ll raise taxes on electricity. Higher taxes, more foreign oil, that’s the real Obama,” the announcer adds
The ad is going into the campaign’s regular rotation on national and will play in heavy rotation in 11 states in the Mountain West and Midwest.
UPDATE–Asked to respond to the ad today in Missouri, Obama’s campaign says they believe their Republican opponent is getting increasingly negative.
“You know, I don’t pay attention to John McCain’s ads, although I do notice he doesn’t seem to have anything to say very positive about himself. He seems to only be talking about me. You need to ask John McCain what he’s for and not just what he’s against,” Obama told reporters Wednesday afternoon.

My, my, my, this negative campaigning by the McSame group never ends. Those attacks only keep Obama in the news. Keep it up and we will be continue to question “WHAT DOES MCSAME STANDS FOR??? Because his ads does not address his position, only negativity from his opponent.
I had thought that McSame indicated that he was going to run an honest campaign - flip-flop, flip-flop.
Or, maybe it’s attack, attack, attack, bomb, bomb, cigarette, cigarette, cigarette, gaffe, gaffe, gaffe.
Time for change for a better tomorrow.
Out with the old, in with the new.

Sad, sad, sad, McSame.
Well now we know, the Republicans are just downright JEALOUS!!! Comparing Barak to Britney and Paris!! Speaking of galvanizing the “under 30 group”…you just did it !!! Don’t you know this will be on You Tube and every cellphone nationwide? As…”Barack is Cool..man”. You Republican …KNUCKLEHEADS!!! By the way, did you get Britanny’s and Paris’s permission….I think NOT !!!
McSame should concetrate on his facial moles ..the ones on the big cheeks
Great ad! Obama is a pop-tart! McCain08; Hillary 2012!!
Wow. Highlighting your opponent’s international popularity just doesn’t seem like an effective campaign strategy to me. What a joke.
In the distant future, out of their sheer incompetence and over-use, the Republicans of the late 20th Century / early 21st Century will be known for giving negative campaign ads a bad name.
I actually think this is a plus for Obama. Everyone knows that it’s a McCain attack ad. Hearing those chants is awe enspiring and should make the Obama Camp welcome this one.
And this ad with no factual basis whatsoever, is McCain’s promise of a clean and dignified campaign based on issues?! This is no straight talk express!!
AND now his wife is best dressed as commander in sheath. Give me a break!
What a joke. McCain is a big Joke.

Loving this Ad.!!
No to Obama 08′ and forever
This is truly a silly and petty ad. The McCain campaign really has nothing better o Obama than this? Just because the guy happens to be well-liked? No doubt there are plenty of important issues that McCain could hammer his opponent on. This isn’t one of them.

The negative RNC spin machine is at it again. Everyone come on board the McCain straight talk, fair campaign bus so that we can use what ever we deem appropriate to run over the US voters.
STOP THE NEGATIVE CAMPAINING AND FOCUS ON WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time for a change for a better tomorrow

this is a great ad. This shows how large and out of control Obama’s ego really is! Kudos to McCain!
DELUSIONAL perhaps?
How much more negative and ignorant can McCain’s campaign get?
And all of his followers are an embarrassment to the good people who live in this country.
Why is the RNC elevating Obamo to an ICONIC status???
They must know he’s going to win the WH.
Feel the LUV for our next Pres Barack………
“Obama, Obama” chant from his Berlin speech plays in the background

McCain is such an Idiot
I love that Obama wants to raise taxes in certain areas, so McCain can genericlly say he will, “raise taxes” when McCain will raise taxes on 95% of Americans and Obama will raise taxes on 5% of Americans.
Where in the commercial does McCain admit that his he is going to raise taxes for more people then Obama? He left that part out…
OFF SHORE DRILLING, what a joke! McCain received 1.1 MILLION DOLLARS from the oil companies. Pretty conveinent considering they gave him the money right around the same time that he started pushing for off shore drilling.
The truth is our oil companies already have alot of land to drill for oil on, they just want more. And the fact that off shore drilling will only supply 2-3% of the oil that is already made means that you can see a price reduction in gas of about 2-3%. So I hope you are happy, give oil companies more money, supporting a candidate that does whatever he is payed to do, and ruining our enviroment of tourism and beaches so that you can save about $.10 a gallon in the year 2015.
That is why Obama says NO to offshore drilling, because no one is paying him to force this idea that will not make americans or america any money, but will damage our enviroment.
Thanks McCain, for selling America, and a little more of the enviroment, to the oil companies.
The 800 pound Gorilla in the room (no pun intended), is RACE. In fact if you’re offended by that comment then it firmly applies to you. The fact is, this election is much more about race than many if not most Americans would like to admit. As a white (50 year old) American (and Obama supporter), I see this election as pivotal in American history as well as in race relations for decades to come. If in fact an old (white) Senator routinely spitting gafs, changing positions like most people change socks, tied firmly to special interest, carrying on nothing more than a completely negative campaign and offering no more than 4 more years of failed Bush policies actually wins. Then I respectfully submit that this country remains consumed and concentrated on the color of someones skin rather than the content of Character. And if that’s the case, then “my friends” have we truly made any progress whatsoever? Something to think about
I am not suprised by the new “low” that the “moral” party has stooped to. McSame is old, senile, and a criminal (can you say Keating 5?). Just what this Country needs is more rich, white, Bushies. But I am sure the republicans of this once-great Country will continue to follow this old has-been as sheep to slaughter. The republican party is dead.
My Friend, McCain, so whats wrong with being young and having talent ?? rather then being a door knob (Bush turns and twist you to use you), a ancient stone (nothing new in you) or the trash you are taking out (useless)??
Obama had a great town hall meeting on economy and energy this am in MO. WIsh everyone could have heard it. Again Americans are being “duped” into believeing drilling for gas will lower their prices. It will be 10 years before a drop of oil comes out of new drills IF the oil companies will even drill!!! They are making way to much money now to invest in new rigs. Why should they. They also have over 4 million acres they are not drilling on now. Americans want instant gratification and as Pickens says This Is One Time We Can Not Drill Ourselves Out Of. Listen to Pickens–an oil man. McCain is just lying to a what he and the republicans think is a “stupid” America and they will take anything that seems simple. Get the honest truth. Drilling won’t work. Anywhere!!
McCain is reaching pretty hard here.
He’s pushing more untruths about raising taxes on electricity.
Sour grape mentality suits McSame well. On the other hand, Obama can’t save us either. While the right leads us straight to the abyss, the left bends over and compromises. MaSame will continue the eight years of hell we are going through, and Obama will sacrifice his principles just to get elected. To stop this two party democracy mockery and save our country: http://WWW.VOTENADER.ORG. It’s time for a REAL change.
I feel so sorry for McSame no issues to talk about just throwing mud on others and when you throw mud on others not only you get your hands dirty you loose your ground too.
Yes his ready, and you are not. your time McCain is long time gone. Barack looked great on his trip and we are so proud to call him our future President. You go on your trips and it seems like no one cares. He (Obama)never talks negative about you, you talk negative all the time, and you wonder why the press and the people of America love him!
Senator McCain, Are we acting like a mature adult? By allowing your team to put out these silly ads you are looking unprofessional. Please remember you are running for the Presidency of a great country and the good people want to respect their candidate. Peace and Love
I find it insulting that McCain would compare a presidential candidate to Spears and Hilton. It comes off sounding whiny and tacky. It makes me question McCain’s judgment and less likely to vote for him.
Sen. McCain must feeling the heat to go so negative, so early. It’s pathetic and certainly beneath the media’s image of him. Some maverick.be
Sorry for the misspelling on the previous post–hit the wrong button. Have fun with that.
A desperate old fool and his wife’s money are soon departed. And of course the idiots on the right will just shake their uneducated heads yes.
Desperation McSame
Is a kept old man with a girlie voice whose on the wrong side of every issues (until he flips again of course) who left his children and wife for an adulterated affair with a woman who lied about her age ready not to nap through every important thing to come? Will Republicans sell out America again just so they can save face? Just look the other way righties. President Obama is on his way to save us from your stupid little selves!
McCain must be getting really desperate if he is getting this negative and ridiculous already.
Oh please! McCain is getting desperate!
I wonder why he can’t make news on his own. Every story about him is some kind of attack he just launched against Obama?
Who wants a guy as President who behaves this way? This is a desperate act of character assassination and is embarrassing for Sen. McCain and our country. Obviously, the Senator doesn’t have anything to offer of his own or he’d be spending his time on talking about his own ideas and ideals. Nothing in his ad makes me want to vote for him. And, if his campaign does the same thing as it did yesterday, it won’t buy any ad time for this personal slam… they’ll just release it to the media and the web and get free publicity. It’s just offensive. Our tabloid Presidential candidate: John McCain.
Maybe he has these ideas about Obama because of the change in Obama, after all he went from “we” to “I” , as if he will be the one who does everything. Obama has gotten to the point now where he is me, myself, and I. The liberal news is getting upset over it so I can see where McCain is coming from. The publicity is going to Obama’s head.
[...] UNION, Mo - Barack Obama didn’t let a little rain keep him from ribbing John McCain about his latest anti-Obama ad at a Missouri cookout — ridiculing the McCain campaign for comparing him to Paris Hilton. [...]
Amazing! Seeing as this is a Fox News blog and at this count there are a total of 38 posts…and only 2 or 3 McCain supporters have chimed in with what are meaningless little snipes devoid of any logical defense of the ad. The point is that’s less than 10% posting a pro-McCain position on what is an overwhelmingly right wing forum. Now that is what I call hope!
They’re both bought and sold by the same corporate handlers. I do love the ad though- funny, very funny.
Anyone who is idiotic enough to believe that a vote for McCain or for Obama is a vote for different things needs to be hospitalized. They’re paid off by pharmaceuticals, by oil companies (be it through private or public channels), and by every other special interest group.
If you want change you can believe in, move. Otherwise, you had better understand that only the social issues change. The economy, the bias, the failings, just keep on coming.
GOOD JOB MCCAIN. BRAVO ON WAKING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FROM THE SPELL OF ROMANTIC AND USELESS CANDIDATE!
What a waste of time and money! You have one candidate that inspires people, that people long to see and listen to. You have another who can do noting but take pot shots.
McCain has demeaned himself with his ad. It is childish and spiteful. When someone has to try to tear down an opponent to make themselves look good they look desperate and show that they have noting to offer about themselves.
The truth hurts but this is it:
