While Obama visits Israel, McCain talks Israel
Wilkes-Barre, Penn.–
While Barack Obama visits Israel today, his opponent John McCain campaigns in this swing state. The topic of Israel did come up at McCain’s town hall, but there was no mention of the presumptive Democratic nominee on the topic. During the question and answer period, a woman asked McCain what his thoughts were on Israel. He believes Israel is facing the most danger since it’s birth in 1948 and mentioned the status of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, but did not say if he thought it should remain undivided:
“I think to start with the status of Jerusalem would be the subject of negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israeli government. My feelings about Israel today that they are probably in many respects under greater threat than they have been since their independence.”
McCain said the danger comes from the increasing Iranian threat, “We have the Iranians developing nuclear weapons. We all know that, ample evidence of that. Unfortunately in the United Nations the Russians will not join with us to enact any meaningful sanctions against Iran,” McCain also mentioned Israel’s enemy neighbors, “We have Hezbollah and Hamas, two terrorist organizations on both their borders. We have some disruption within the Israeli political process itself, but most importantly. I am concerned about their Iranian nuclear build up. Particularly when you have a president who comes to the United Nations and says his country is going to quote wipe Israel off the map.”
The McCain campaign sent out e-mail statements today reminding reporters that it was one year ago during a debate that Obama said he would meet with hostile leaders such as Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ajhmadinejad “without precondition.”

Might I remind everyone that B.O. attended a church for years whose pastor (Who is still loved by that congregation) said that Israel is a terrorist nation. HMMM, I don’t think I would trust this fellow to stand behind his statements on Israel. On second thought ……………………. I would not trust him to stand by any of his statements on anything.
Obama’s idea of peace between Israel and Palestine is that Israel capitulates. He is not WRIGHT for America because he cannot tell friend from foe. BTW, check out http://www.notwrightforamerica.com, a great new website!
Most people are missing the point, if we don’t talk to Iran and just let them be, they will develop weapons and be a threat. We can’t just sit on our hands like we have been for 8 years. Obama is the only one who is taking a lead on this issue.
On Iraq - What is the point of staying there for years to come? The Iraqi government wants us out too.
On Afghanistan - It was Obama who said we need to focus on the effort there. The current administration and Mccain have been saying for many years now is up to NATO to figure out. That is not leadership.
Yeah McCain with Iraq blown up they are weaker… was a nice buffer against Iran, if they ever dared to do anything that stupid…
So bomb bomb Iran is right, but when Iran says some one else should be viped out it is wrong ??
Why is it the “MEDIA” does not simply come right out and
say they fully support Senator Obama for President? This
trip he has taken, with the elite care and has been elite
care he has gotten since starting. Why is it the “media”
doesn’t the media simply say, “Senator Obama is our man”.
I would think some News person would say this whole
system has broken down, when the news media is so bias.
I suspect the Great Obama is shifting his position, as usual, to get the Jewish vote. No more talk of meeting with Palestine without precondition. However, I don’t trust him not to shimmy back if he is elected. Leftist policies and Wright have influenced him for many years. He is saying what he thinks a certain group wants to hear. He will “refine” each policy as needed.
test test
MCCain has hit the low of lows attacking Obama this week. Beware MCCain, the locus are gonna swarm and devourer your flesh!!!
Congressperson.
It Was mentioned on the television tonite that
the approval rating for Congress was 9% ?
It is amazing that 91 out of every 100 American people
disapprove of, or believe that Congress is useless!
What are the elected members of the
‘House of Representatives’ doing?
VOTE on oil drilling in this country - don’t
deliberately cause the American people pain in a lunatic
effort to enhance the democratic election scheme
called “change”.
It is your job to ‘listen to’ and ‘work for’ the American People,
not the agenda of a hand full of self serving anti-American
frauds that are trying to usurp the power, wealth, and
freedom, that made this country Great.
Do your job!
I totally agree with Cam in so far all the media attention has been Pro - Obama. It doesn’t matter to me because I am still voting for McCain. Obama is nothing but talk and people are falling for it.
TY-What are you talking about? The Bush Admin just announced new dilplomatic ties with Iran. Do you read?
Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You can’t believe a word he says because he will say something different to your enemy the next day. Beware of Obama. We will have terrorists attacks here in the USA if he is president. If he can’t debate or answer questions what is going to happen when we get blown up here again. He will run and hide.
While Obama is in Israel flip flopping and double talking, McCain is talking honestly about Israel. No one should delude himself into believing that Obama is a true friend of Israel. He is a hypocrite who knows that without the Jewish vote it would be impossible for him to win in November at to that end he is trying hard to hide his radical views and even more radical friends: Rev. Wright, Ali Abunimah, Rashid Khalidi, and others. His political past is sprinkled with associations with radical Palestinian activists the main stream media tries to hide. How can a guy like that can claim now to be a friend of Israel?
Obama in Israel
Just what do you think B.O. would say to an enemy of America, when he thinks ‘we’ are not listening?
Barbara-you are right on the money. Will Barrack get to use his teleprompter while we are being attacked? Seems he needs it for everything else.
As a Roman Catholic, I would love to visit Israel some day. I have very close Jewish friends over there as well. I fear for their safety, as well as the rest of Israel, on a daily basis. My gut tells me Barrack is just as much a threat to Israel’s exsistance as Iran. McCain has not flip-flopped on this issue, either. He has maintained since the beginning that the Islamic extremests are a threat to our very existance. That, obviously, includes Israel.
Ty has already missed the point!! It hasn’t just been the last 8 years, its been more than 30 years.
Obama is taking the lead alright, leading us into socialism and selling us out to Islamic extremist. You need to learn a little history Ty. Did you graduate from HS. If so when, last year?
I hope the American Jews realize how dangerous Obama is to them.
