McCain Fundraises in Pennsylvania

Wilkes-Barre, Penn.

After holding a private luncheon at the Westmoreland Club, John McCain addressed donors and went after Barack Obama for crafting his Iraq policy before traveling to the country:

“As you know, Senator Obama just took a trip to Afghanistan and Iraq; his first trip to Afghanistan, second in 900 days to Iraq. The first time he ever asked for a sit down with General Petraeus and received a briefing from him,” McCain continued, “First time ever and made his policy speech towards Iraq and Afghanistan before he left, before he left. I’ve been all around the world on congressional trips, usually at your expense, but I usually wait until I get there and learn something and then come back and make the policy speech so there’s a very great difference between myself and Senator Obama.”

McCain is urgently trying to peg his opponent as inexperienced while Obama is on his trip to Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Europe. The Republican nominee-in-waiting has been repeating attacks throughout the week on his rival’s initial rejection of the troop surge in Iraq and pressing that Obama would rather win an a political campaign than win a war. McCain also makes sure to often repeat that the presidency is not a place for “on the job training.”

However, the fundraiser was not all serious. McCain got some laughs while trying to get a bit more cash out of his supporters, making sure to tell them that although he won’t raise as much as his opponent he will stay competitive, “The good news is we now have enough money to run the entire campaign in Pennsylvania. The bad news is some of that money is still in your wallets and purses so please keep that in mind before you leave today. “

I suppose we should be pleased that the good Senator acknowledges that his opponent actually went. And his recognition that his travel is on our dime was a nice touch.

What is revealing, significant and important about on the job training in regard to Obama is that in accordance with Obama’s statement of policy regarding Iraq prior to making his trip to Iraq is that Obama may not consider himself in need of any training at all and all of his preconceived ideas are quite adequate enough.

McCain and the GOP suggested a couple of months ago, to put it nicely, that Obama go overseas and meet with our generals on the ground to make an accurate assessment of whats going on……. they said he has no place to speak untill he does so……

Now that he is there and embraced by all the leaders he visits and the fact that 80%+ of those countries favor obama over mccain, the republican nominee is probably feeling a little stupid now…

Obama is trying to stick to his 16 month timetable for completely reducing our troop volumes in Iraq and to send, possibly, 50,000 to Afghanistan…….

McCain says any withdrawl would equal defeat because we still have work to do…..We haven’t achieved victory because we dont know what victory looks like and even patreus and his generals couldnt tell what victory is when they were being interviewed at the capital a couple of months ago…

McCain said that he wanted troop levels down by the end of his first term, but now suggests a 2 year timetable or “time horizon” for withdrawl…….Obama’s message has been clear, 16months…….its a tough call for either of them because its difficult to leave that country

Go John!!
We need to send a message to Israel and western europe–America, if required to bear most of the financial and human burden of the war on terror–will insist on setting the rules/objectives.

It’s time our industrialized allies stepped up to the plate with people and money in the war on terror rather than sitting on the sidelines and ridiculing our leadership while the reap the benefits of American sacrifice.

Obama is a ignorant nerd–and Israel, Germany, and France will play him like a cheap violin while they continue to skip out on their own international responsibilities for providing resources and sacrifice to the war on terror.

What do you think B.O. would say to an enemy of America, when he thinks we are not listening?
