Obama Abroad

The Obama campaign held a conference today call to discuss the senator’s upcoming trip to the Middle East and Europe. According to the foreign press, Obama will arrive in Jordan early next week, but until now the campaign has refused to discuss any details of the trip on the record.

Several of Obama’s top foreign policy advisors were on today’s call to talk about the purpose of the trip and with whom the Illinois senator would meet on his trip to Jordan, Israel, Germany, France, and the UK. Included on that list: British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Opposition Leader David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, King Abdullah of Jordan, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and President Chimon Perez, and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

But the campaign continues to refuse to discuss the dates and locations of any of the planned stops, presumably for safety concerns, and will not say where the meeting with the Palestinian Authority leaders will take place.

According to advisor Susan Rice, Obama will exchange views with these leaders on issues critical to national and global security in order to deepen relationships and explore concretely a way to discuss cooperation on these challenges.

Rice added that “it’s important to note that it is not our intent to make policy or to negotiate, we won’t do so. There’s one President of the United States at any given time and we will certainly honor and respect that.” But, she said, the candidate may “underscore” the message to leaders that “stepped up U.S. contribution should be met with a stepped up NATO contribution to the extent possible” in Afghanistan.

The campaign is not calling this a campaign event - even though the candidate will be joined by at least 19 media outlets along the way. “The trip is not at all a campaign trip, a rally of any sort. It’s …a series of substantive meetings with our friends and our allies to talk about the common challenges that we face and the national security dangers for the 21st century,” Robert Gibbs said on the call.

In fact the only speech-like event the campaign will discuss is the much talked about Berlin event, where the candidate will “underscore our shared values and our shared goals” to the German people.

The German press originally reported the Democrat would speak at Brandenburg Gate, which then was quickly made off limits by the German government. Today the Obama campaign would not confirm or deny the latest speculations on where the speech may take place, only that they were looking for a location that “meets our needs and our German hosts’ needs and interests.”

The campaign declined to say how long this trip has been in the making, but said Senator Obama reached out to Secretary Rice about his trip and that the two had “a very productive conversation.” The campaign has been relying on help from US embassies in each of the countries they are planning to visit.

Our only hope is that they will keep Obama in Irag, Afganistan, or Europe. The New Yorker magazine is more honest than we may think.

Why wouldn’t a presidential candidate go into the middle-east visit with a policy plan in mind? Simply put; the more thinking and preparation you take into the trip, the more you get out of it.

Enough already on coverage of obama’s trip. He’s getting more coverage from Fox than the networks. Fox is the only news channel I watch & I don’t need obama every 2 or 3 min’s.

It is nice to read that the campaign (THE TAXPAYER FUNDED MAGICAL CAMPAIGN TRIP) acknowledges that there is only one president. This campaign would be more trustworthy if they didn’t comment on what they will do in a situation before they speak with the people with knowledge-not just political bias.

Oh No! Obama accually cares about the conditions that troops are facing. He Cares about diplomacy. He wants to have peace talks with Iran. Instead of just blowing everybody off and singing Bomb, Bomb Iran (Like McCain). What will we do with a Commander and Cheif that cares about having truthful intel and worries about diplomacy. Watch out and he may be another Clinton. We may become a respectable nation again. Who would want that. I mean why would he be traveling to the Middle East where our troops are dying, when he could travel to Columbia and get somemore campaign contributions. Shame on him.

What this country needs is someone that has a more narrow way of thinking. We need to keep fighting this war in Iraq, doesn’t matter that we don’t belong there in the first place. Doesn’t matter that Thousands of troops have died there, because we can’t loose no wars. They are willing to throw their citizens lives away, we should be too. This is an area that hasn’t had peace in a thousand years. So it is gonna take us at least that long. Doesn’t matter how much money we waste on it. Doesn’t matter how broke our country gets. Doesn’t matter that in just a few years our country will be devided into just two classes of people, The very rich and the very poor. Grudge matches mean more than the lives and livelyhoods of the U.S. Citizens. If you agree with this Vote McBush in ‘08.

It is fine to disagree with Senator Obama’s views on issues but to add such tasteless remarks is wrong and the Fox News website should not allow it. But it seems to be obvious that the Fox News website does not care to censor racist and prejudice remarks about him. Someone should really get on them about this, it doesn’t help their ratings as a news station at all.

Just imagine a highly educated guy, which means some one with a pretty decent academic background, if he continually to pursuing the academic excellence
in the same field, the result of achievement should be admired and praised.
However, if such an ambitious person, with the help of his own party, is luckily turned around and get into the field in which he may have dreamed about for years. Does this a dream come true? Yes, it could be. But the most dangeours
and risky consequence is that he will get lost and mess things up badly, because the lack of experiences and knowledgs in that particular field.
This is exectly what’s going on as Obama being a “rising star” at the current political stage. Yet he has been “acting” and “talking” as an experienced and
know-it-all “future leader”, as wherever he goes, there are so many of those blindly people following him without having any idea of the truth.
His work experiences and knowledges in the advanced admistration/higher executive
field are eventually can be measured as on the “skin-deep” level, to the foreign affairs, his knowledge may be less than a trainee at the local travel agent’s office.
Does this abroad trip can be served as a “crush course” of international relations 101 for him? Well, the answer may be the yes. But the bottom line is that this guy is so hollow inside, the position as a head of this great nation is way, way beyond his qualification letting him to fill in, even he is an intelligent quick-learner, there is practically no “on the job training period” for the commander-in-chief, so that the previous EXPERIENCES is a vital MUST!
He just don’t have it!
Folks, get your wakeful conscience in action, don’t let Obama fooling you any longer!
