Bill Clinton Will Campaign for Obama “Whenever He Asks”

President Bill Clinton said that he is willing to campaign for Senator Barack Obama “whenever he asks” adding that they had a “good talk” and that Obama requested the former President’s assistance,

“He said he wanted me to campaign with him and I said I was eager to do so,” Clinton told reporters, “But he is busier than I am on politics anyway so I just told him whenever he wanted to do it I was ready. So it is basically on their timetable. He’s got a lot of things to do between now and the convention of which this is simply one. So I will do whatever I’m asked to do whenever I can do it. “

Clinton came under fire for releasing only a brief statement of support for the Democratic nominee-in-waiting at the end of June stating that he was, “obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States.”

Clinton said he had “given no thought” to whether he wanted to speak at the Democratic National Convention where his wife is expected to give a speech at a prominent time slot.

Clinton was also asked about the recent Jesse Jackson incident where Jackson was caught saying crude and disparaging comments about Obama on an open microphone while he was preparing to tape a segment on the Fox News Channel.

Even though he hasn’t spoken with Jackson, he said that his swift apology was “a good thing” to do and had praise for the civil rights leader, “He was big enough to quickly apologize and if all of us lived on live mics then 100 percent of us in this room would be embarrassed from time to time,” Clinton chuckled, “ He’s a good man and he did what he could to make it right and I think we all know where his heart is on everything involving equal opportunity for people without regard to race and helping poor people in America and throughout the world and I think Senator Obama accepted his apology. I think its over.”

Clinton held the press conference to announce an initiative between his foundation and six drug companies to dramatically lower the price of malaria medications in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. His foundation has already worked to bring down the cost of HIV/AIDS drugs on these continents and the initiative has now expanded to malaria drugs.

The United Nations Special Envoy on Malaria and several representatives from the drug companies joined the former President at the press conference. Clinton also praised President Bush and Congress for passing Bush’s Malaria budget:

“I think it would be a mistake on all of our parts not to acknowledge the fact that the United States Senate has recently and overwhelmingly passed the President’s malaria budget and that we owe a debt of gratitude to the President and Congress for supporting this because it will enable the funds to go out across the world so that even at these reduced prices we will have countries able to purchase the medicines and get it out there to save all these lives.”

Each year 500 million people contract Malaria, and more than one million die from the disease, many of them children.

“The NAACP also released a resolution ( thru ‘racial czar’ spokesperson jesse jackson ) condemning the cover as “tasteless, Islam-a-phobic, mean spirited and racially offensive, although a bit on the funny side”

Money does not make an elitist, It is attitude, If you or B.O. feel that they are better and above the rest, then that is elitist.
I believe B.O. feels he is well above the American voter, and thinks they should be in ‘awe’ of his presence, and swallow anything he spews…
B.O. appears huge in the mirror to himself, and has fraud written on his face to others.
Look close.

Wonderful!!! Two nut cases campaigning together!!! This should be interesting. Wonder who will be jumping out of the cake!!!

Depending on what the defintion of “campaigning” is, of course.

I WOULD KEEP THE WHOLE BUNCH AS FAR AWAY AS I CAN.

Comment by Bill

kathy, two nut cases?

Clinton left office with a 60% percent approval rate and Bush sits at 28%, that’s being nice. Most Americans would agree President Bush is more of a nut case. You’re just scared that Clinton is going to lock the Presidency up for Obama and your failing neo-Con Right Wing agenda will be no longer.

Wow! Slick Bill is at it again! The Clintons do not like the Obamas! A person without sight can plainly see that! Why is Hillary taking her delegates to the Convention? “A house divided cannot stand!”

Bill, as a woman I empathize with Hillary! You hurt her bad with your “womanizing” and the whole world watched and heard! She is not over it. The Reverand was right–Hillary cried becasue she lost–her husband and the nomination! One can read, and see the “tears behind her smile!”

Barack Obama got this far without you and your wife, and they can do it again! Who wants a President who cannot manage her own money–$21 million in debt, and she talks about the Bush administration! Hillary does not listen to anyone! When the Democratic Party told her “enough was renough” and to step out of the process, she would not listen!

Just say “NO to Hillary” who wanted to count votes in an illegal election!”

…yeah, he has so much time and Hillary will not be eligible to run until 2012…

President Clinton knows how to run this country and he is a Democrate. Obama has what it takes to be president he knows how to relate to peoples needs from what he says he will be a good president. As for Jesse Jackson who is suppose to be a pastor of the church should not judge unless he wants to be judged.

When people who are not liking you offer you their help you know they think you will win for sure.

Bill, I wish you wouldn’t; please, you can’t agree with any of this idiots Flip Flopping. Don’t be a hypocrate Bill.

Comment by Karl

Can you say SHAKE DOWN? There must be something in it for the Clinton’s. They have held out and if Bill does this it will be for financial reasons and not ideological ones.

We are seeing the demise of our capitalist system and a slow and steady march toward socialism.

Don’t do it bubba! He doesn’t deserve your time after they called you a racist and devoured your wife!!!

Look everyone, the Clintons have one thing on their mind: Getting back into the White House in 2012. If you all think for one moment Bill truly likes, admires, and supports Barack Obama, you are sadly mistaken. We know what kind of man Clinton is, someone who is willing to make a mockery out of the most honored position in the world by committing adultery in the Oval Office and then lying to us all about it. Bill, that 60% approval rating you’re speaking of means about as much as the cheerios I had for breakfast this morning and only proves that as a nation, we have drastically backslidden from a moral standpoint.

Looks like Obama did it again - Purchased the support of a REAL politician with the millions he’s receiving from his friends in the middle east.

The man makes me sick. His wife makes me barf.

Go McCain!

Are you trying to get some money from Obama by supporting him? Or to impress Monica?

If Clinton will campaign for Obama, he will have to swallow everything that he had said about the guy and it will confirm what a big fake and liar he is. What’s interesting is Obama is now saying what Hillary has been trying to say. Who is the bigger fake?

Comment by connie e

The Obamas called the Clintons racist. Michelle Obama will claw and dig the eyes of president Clinton with her long finger nails. Now he will campaign for Obama? Both are ridiculous!

Comment by KC

Psssssssssssssst Clinton had a republican congress so of course he looked good. Now Bush is stuck with the in house fighting democrats. Got to love it. While the republicans ran the congress and the country Clinton played hanky panky with the women under his desk.

Comment by Colleen

Rich, I totally agree with you…

Who could have thought that the Clinton’s entitlement machine would prove ineffective against Obama’s gang of goons machine….

Yes, Bonnie and Clyde’s one and only focus is “getting the White House back” really has nothing to do with America or Americans, just that they want it back. Just because…It’s a power thing with them.

As an aside, what on earth did Hillary do for her country during her stay in the White House that would make anyone in their right mind want her to lead our nation? In her role of First Lady, she had every opportunity to make a dent in history. She took credit for Bill’s accomplishments, which we all now know were limited at best. She studied health care for 16 yrs. and came up with a failed Universal plan…right to your pockets with more taxes…

So you folks out there who think that the Clinton’s are being noble…think again. They will do and say anything at this point to get the Hill’s campaign debt paid, Obama elected, then rise again for their claim in 2012. Don’t be surprised to see them write another book while waiting for their magic moment

Comment by Michelle in Des Moines

That is politics. Remember the first Bush who coined the phrase “voodoo economics” and then became VP. No one really pays attention now. Bill said what he thought of Obama in the primaries anything he does now is to appease the left and help Hillary’s chances in 2012. He also understand that there is campaigning and CAMPAIGNING. He can go out and make a few speeches, shake a few hands and then go home. The people attending these functions will be Hillary supporters and they will understand that he is just doing it for Hillary. Why because they are there for Hillary and most plan to vote for McCain. I have several friends who are Hillary supporters. They tell everyone that they are voting for Obama, however they tell me that they are voting for McCain and only telling people that they are voting for Obama so that no one can claim Hillary was the reason Obama lost.
