Multi-tasking during a McCain town hall
OAKDALE, MN — While he was hammering away at the ill-effects of sugar subsidies on the American economy during a conference call with moderate and “independent-minded” Virginia voters this evening, Sen. McCain stopped for a moment when he heard what sounded like a faucet running on the other end of the phone.
“It’s harmful to the American economy and at this particular time we can’t be wasting…that kind of money — it sounds to me like you’re washing the dishes while your listening?” McCain asked a voter who was introduced prior to her question as “Raquel from Centreville.”
“I am,” Raquel admitted, as McCain chuckled.
“I’ve got six kids and I’m trying to buy food for my family and, you know, I don’t understand why I can’t pay the world prices for sugar,” she added, returning the topic at hand.
Despite the fact that the presumptive GOP nominee is campaigning in the Minneapolis area this evening, he spoke to voters from northern Virginia on the phone on what the campaign is calling a “tele-town hall.” Reporters were allowed listen to the call but not ask questions, which included “thousands” of Old Dominion voters, according to a campaign aide.

Barry Obama gets no negative coverage when he stated we must learn Spanish, most of need to improve our English. If there is a second language we should all learn sign language then if time or desire another language.

Ha, I’ve typically leaned away from McCain, but this is an interesting concept he’s using to talk with people. Most people I know can never attend town-hall meetings and debates, but to be able to talk and share ideas with a candidate over the phone while being able to fulfill your role in your family is a great idea and a great way to get your message out to people.

That Cindy spent $175,000 on her credit card last month just shows they both are out of touch. If they felt any real empathy they would hold off this kind of spending when people are trying to figure out how to save their homes, buy food and gas. Its like a slap in the face! Obama’s get it. Michelle paid $30.00 at Gap for her sun dress. Obama’s mother was at time on food stamps. The Obama’s know how the people are suffering because they have also faced hard times. McCain has no chance of being President!

You are so right. We should all apply for food stamps to show solidarity with the poor.
It is completely dumb to bring up how much someone spends of their personal money. If someone gave you a bunch of money you most certainly would not be giving it all away to the less fortunate. It’s easy to down someone when you have no idea what it’s like to be in their situation. Yeah, I couldn’t dream of spending that much money in a month, but I don’t fault someone else for doing it if they can. If you have earned it, then you have earned the luxuries that come with it.

First of all the woman doing the dishes is at home not at the town hall meeting, secondly Obamas’ granny getting food stamps does not put him in touch with the average American, Obama traveled all over the world as a child, the average American child rarely leaves its’ own state, Obama was educated in a foriegn nation as well as the U.S., the averagae American child goes to school in one state and one city. As for McCains’ time spent as a POW from what the men who were there say he gave up a change to be released for another man who was worse off, he kept their moral up with his humor in a horrible situtation, he was a great man who went out of his way to help others, this was what the men who were THERE say about him so get past your liberal leftest point of views that seem to edit things positive about any one but Obama into negitive, while the edit the bad about Obama into positive. If you weren’t there you can not say what happened in that POW camp but the people who were can and they tell it like they lived it so get over it. All you have to do is listen to Obama down Americans for not learning to speack Spanish instead of the illegals and leagal imigrants learning to speack English, does tha mean we should all learn French, German, Italian, Greek, Polish, and Arabic etc for every imigrant that can not speak english? It’s not so dumb when you’re running for president and trying to paint your oppenent as an elitist.
Some guy on Fox a few minutes ago says that Obama has ‘negative’ enthusiams. Fox people are pathetically trying to defend John Mccain’s sorry campaign. I am ROFLMAO. Woner what they’re gonna do after November? Fold up the tents and go off the airways, I would hope.
