FOX Embeds

Huckabee joins Fox as Contributor

Washington, D.C.-

As the former embedded FNC producer with the Huckabee campaign, it might be a little strange for me running into him in the hallways, or at the Fox News Christmas party, now that former GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee has joined Fox News Channel as a contributor. Here is his statement:

”I have signed on to be a part of the Fox News Channel family. I hope to bring the unique perspective from “inside the dragon’s belly” as well as to try and speak for the millions of hard-working middle class Americans who really do feel that their voices are not being heard. I saw that on the campaign trail and continue to see as I speak to groups of all kinds around the country as well as campaign for other candidates.

I’m looking forward to what I hope will be a very satisfying relationship not only for the Fox News Channel and me, but even more for the people of America.”

And from our media relations department:

MIKE HUCKABEE JOINS FOX NEWS CHANNEL

Former Governor of Arkansas and 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee has joined FOX News Channel (FNC) as a contributor, announced Bill Shine, Senior Vice President of Programming.  Huckabee will regularly contribute to FNC’s America’s Election HQ coverage.

In making the announcement, Shine said, “Governor Huckabee’s campaign experience and knowledge of politics makes him a great addition to our ongoing election coverage.”

I had stopped watching Fox due to their biased and unfair coverage during the Primaries, but now that they have hired Gov. Huckabee, I will be tuning in!!!
Great move, FOX!

Smart move, Huck -Smart move Fox. I look forward to going back to FOX after several months of total disgust at the obvious campaigning on their own for Romney.

Fantastic. Not so sure that Hannity or OReilly represent my views. Huckabee is right on.

[...] going to work for Fox News I like this.  I’m a little sick of hearing O’Reilly and Hannity.  Huck still speaks for [...]

You made a great choice with Mike Huckabee to join Fox news.I love to listen to all he has to say! He is such a good person, he is such an interesting and well rounded person he is a great addition to Fox! Thanks a fan of Fox 24-7

What other former Governor, Senator, or other major elected official is a contributor on air?

This is merely one more sign that Fox News is GOP TV.

Comment by John B

YES!!!! I saw him speak at Cornell Univ. and he had even the Liberals thinking!!! GO FOX!!!!!!

Comment by John Z from MA

I am so disgusted with Fox for its treatment of the Obamas. Your smears are anti-democratic and indecent. And hiring a man who jokes about Obama’s assassination–Shame.

Comment by goodtimepolitics

The problem is Mr. Huckabee will have Obama’s race card played against him and will not be there long! I see that the nice person ED Hill has lost her show because of the Obama’s, she did not say anything wrong!

Mike Huckabee is an awesome speaker. He will be a great asset to Fox News. Congratulations to
Fox News for adding him to your staff.

What a wonderful fit for FOX news. Fair and balanced news and commentary from the right.

Comment by cook

Is it fair to say that for anybody to join FNC, one must be a repulican…..ahh
Huckabee, Rove whose is coming next Bush? No popular dems ! And u call yourselves fair and Balanced…go figure.

Comment by D. Dickerson

I think it is good to keep the Republican leaders in a single corral where they can be watched. As FOX is the mouthpiece of the Republican Party propaganda machine, Huckabee has found an appropriate place to be. No agenda? Fair and balanced? Right.

Comment by Lucy Wilson

The invitation to appear on Fox has been extended to Democrats, liberals, even Mr. Obama, himself. A good question for the Fox News bashers would be, “why do they turn down the invitation?” Hillary appeared with Bill O’Reilly and seemed to enjoy herself…..what are the others afraid of?

Comment by funk

Hiring Huckabee as a politcal commentator? Surely you jest.

I’m done with Fox News - click - next channel.

Awesome, Fox News!!!!!!!! As a former Huckabee supporter, I am thrilled about this! He’s charming and witty, not to mention verrrry knowledgeable and wise, and I know he will be an asset to your team. :-)

I am a registered Democrat who voted for Bush twice! My husband is a registered Republican. We both really liked Huckabee and probably would have voted for him had he been the nominee. Neither of like McCain and dislike him more every time we hear him speak. Obama is our man! Back to Huckabee and Fox! Fox has been trashing Obama and his wife unrelentlessly! Where is all of the gutter talk on McCain? There is plently for the taking! When Huckabee made his horrible remark to the NRA about Obama, that showed me the depth of this “funny” man who should know better than to make suggestions to all of the quacks in the world! Fox will no longer be viewed in our household!

Comment by susie

Obama could have appeared on FOX news, but wouldn’t!

Comment by Ci2Eye

This sounds like great news on many fronts.

I always thought he was talented as an entertainer and played the role of court jester well during the primaries but I would never, ever seriously consider him to be President of the United States of America. It was amazing how many people thought being likable and good at delivering one-liners were qualities for running the largest enterprise in the world though.

And therein lies a problem. He has many loyal fans and the McCain camp has felt considerable pressure from those groups to select him as VP. But with this new gig, Huck’s true talents can be fully realized and his fans get to see him cracking jokes regularly on their preferred news source. Plus, it frees the Republican party and Johnny Mac to select a more capable man for the VP slot.

So, this is good news for all!

This is excellent! I am always interested in hearing Mike Huckabee’s point of view. He is such a good communicator and makes people think.

Comment by goodtimepolitics

Just from reading all the comments I see that Mr. Huckabee will be attack sooner than I thought! But I’m sure he can take the heat better than the Obama’s! :)

Huckabee almost destroyed Arkansas, and now he will do the same for Fox.
I really feel sorry for you guys there.

Comment by Shanson

Good for Fox…We need more conservative Christian voices to be heard. Our moral bankruptcy continues to reach all new astounding lows. I hope that Huck will bring a voice of reason and moral guidance that people will tune in to hear.

NObama 08!! The worst ever RADICAL pro-murder (abortion) candidate of death! Stop the abomination of the Obama-nation!

Comment by Courtney

Finally there is someone at Fox News who represents my views!! I can’t believe Huckabee is going to work for them though, after the way they treated him when he was running. Maybe Fox News will start approving comments from Huckabee supporters now.

Comment by Steve H.

John B , of course he had the liberals thinking…Huckabee is a big government liberal. This is a move left for FOX.

I loathe the thought I might have to hear from him regularly for the next several months saying something stupid live on TV. Didn’t we get enough of his pompous, pretentious preaching in the primaries?

Comment by R.F.

First bia/politics now huck everyone I know has the fox cure click on anyone but fox for real unbiased coverage had enough of fox!

Great move to bring Huckabee on board! Brilliant!
Look forward to his “take” on the “fair and balanced” network.
You guys come through every time!
Thanks!

Mike Huckabee joining FOX NEWS - this just makes my day. I supported him for
the President - still think he is the best man. At least, I can now watch FOX NEWS with
some anticipation of listening to a person who is intelligent and cannot be BOUGHT!!!
READ HIS BOOK - if you haven’t already.

Actually, Mike should have his OWN SHOW - and maybe replace the Hannity group!
Who actually listens to them anyway?????!!!!!

Comment by Carol

Fox News is just too boring to watch. It’s just the same story after the same story after the same story, as if nothing of import is happening in the world aside from the latest faux pas of some American political candidate or self-destructing celebrity. Over and over and over and over again….

How innovative–who would have thought it of Fox? An experienced communicator who is insightful, entertaining, witty, kind and unfailingly fair. While I did not always agree with him as a candidate, I always enjoyed watching and listening to him. As do many otherwise highly skeptical viewers, I just LIKE the guy!

Comment by Brian

Are you kidding!?! Huckleberry is the biggest idiot out there! As much as I hate McCain, could Huckabee have possibly been a worse president? He finish 3rd in the race (yes, 3rd if you count the fact that when Romney dropped out, he trailed Romney by nearly 100 delegates, and some of those were even underhandedly handed to him by McCain). Huckabee had idiotic ramblings and did his best to paint himself as a conservative and to tell people what they wanted to hear. I am convinced that nobody would have voted for him if he weren’t a Baptist minister (except for maybe his mom of course). He had a poor governorship in Arkansas at best, and his best insight into politics would be how to be both a minister and a politician and do both poorly.

Please Susan, the only reason Huckabee went anywhere in the primaries was because of Fox News. Romney was dominating both in Iowa and New Hampshire until they started propping up Huckabee as a contender. McCain has always been Fox News golden boy. Look at their other contributors, Fred Barnes and William Kristol from the ” Weak Standard”. They were always advocating a McCain win. So the only way he could is if Romney was stopped. So they made a fire storm out of nothing about Huckabee on Fox News in their political contributions. You were the type of people that said if Romney would get out of the race, Huckabee could make a comeback. Where did he go, nowhere! He could not even win South Carolina. True Conservatives see through class warfare rhetoric amongst other things. In his cute little statement you see the same thing.

Ironic that Tim Russert is leaving such a legacy of integrity and now we have Mr. Huckabee who will never even come close to that. I was hoping Mr. Huckabee would find a nice band that would let him play his bass and be happy “soothing the masses.” I have no respect for Mr. Huckabee as a politician or a pastor (or a musician). I seriously doubt that I will find reason to respect him as a political analyst. But who knows………miracles still happen, only I have been praying for miracles to go to the folks in Iowa and others experiencing such destruction and heartache.

I will get back to watching Fox News. I believe that Mike Huckabee is the man to raise our level of civil discussion. I hope this is a good move for Huckabee, but I know it is an excellent move for Fox. You just better treat him right, or else!!!!

Enough about the Obama gun comment. He apologized for it immediately and said it was a stupid statement. He didn’t wait for a poll to come out to figure out the right thing to do. That is the kind of man that Huckabee is. He did not mean the comment to be about Obama’s assassination, it was a silly joke about Obama’s fear of the NRA - who cling to their guns and religion. Why is one of Huckabee’s statements not forgotten when he apologized at least 3 different times and Obama’s anti-American statements are just forgotten when there has been no apology for them. I hope that all you people out there who are so perfect and never say anything foolish sometimes will be shown more grace than you show others, should you sieze to be perfect.

Comment by Joe S.

I don’t approve of Mr. Huckabee going to a news agency, however, if it will improve you folks at fox news, then so be it. Any where Mr. Huckabee is, is an improvement. You people at fox didn’t give him enough exposure during his campaign for the presidency. I thought that was kinda shallow on fox’s part. At any rate, Mr. Huckabee, if you get this, please try and find out, WHY my blogs and comments haven’t been posted in the last 3 months. You see sir, I have been proving to the people of our great country, that you are the right person for us. You would’ve made an excellent President. I know you would’ve. You would have done the right thing for our country, not the politically correct one. These other people out here are just blinded by their own selfish ideas and wants and needs of this world. They don’t realize that, this world won’t be around much longer. There will be a new world in place, and they don’t want that. Time is short sir, as you well know. You and I will be gone before long, and we won’t have to be concerned about the politics of this world. You are good for fox, Mr. Huckabee. GOD BLESS you.

I don’t always agree with the biased opinions on Fox ( Hannith Ingrahm O’reilly),however the people within Fox that team up to make decisions like this one should be rewarded …..There has never been a better move on your part and you are to be congratulated…We will finally hear honesty, and things worth listening to

Huckabee joining Fox. It makes good sense. Yes this is the same Ike that has posted many a reply against Huckabee. I still don’t like the man as a politician, but it makes total sense on both parts. Fox knew they could pick up Huck, since he has proven he will do anything for money. He proved that as a person who told little old ladies that they show how much faith they have in Jesus depending on how large Huck’s salary is. Then as a politician he lived off campaign finance as long as he could. He would have dropped had he been able to take the money with him, but since he already got fined for that twice, he decided to stick it out, even though he didn’t make any campaign stops for the last few weeks. It helps Fox too. Huckabee will bring the same crowd that followed him in the campaign. The same mindless sheep following a man because he claims to be one of them. So Fox gets more viewers, and advertisers will most likely pay more for those viewers because the seem to follow without any independent thought. Those are the type of people I would want to sell stuff to. Just tell them that you will get rid of all their tax problems because you are just like the guy working next to them. Plus Fox might get some comedic relief out of him. I found it quite funny when he got his backside handed to him in the NH debate when he couldn’t answer a simple question about how much he raised taxes. It was pretty funny to hear him stammer about illegal Pakistani workers and then lie about getting a brief from the CIA. I laughed pretty hard at his stupidity when he said the best economic stimulus package was to give Florida a huge porkbarrel project to fix their roads, and then turn around and tell California the same thing a week later. The only big downside I can see for Fox is if he tries to make jokes about shooting the only other candidate for president that was worse than him. And I do look forward to Ann Coulter tearing him a new one because as she states his is a “stupid” Christian for his lack of cajones to stand up to Larry King.
So Fox I applaud your business transaction. Huckabee you are an idiot.
