McCain makes pitch to Clinton supporters
done
BATON ROUGE, LA- Sen. McCain called on Hillary Clinton supporters to cross the party lines and vote for him Wednesday, arguing that he is the most qualified candidate to keep America safe.
“I think that could attract some of Senator Clinton’s voters…who believe that I am by far best qualified to secure this nation’s future,” McCain told reporters a press conference following a town hall meeting in the Bayou State. “I think there (are) a lot of Senator Clinton’s supporters who will support me because of their belief that Senator Obama does not have the experience or the knowledge or the judgment to address this nation’s national security challenges given we are in two wars.”
The presumptive GOP nominee said he can attract Clinton supporters on both domestic and foreign policy grounds–even on the issue of Iraq.
“I believe that there are Senator Clinton supporters who oppose wasteful spending, pork barrel spending in our nations capital. I believe that there are those who want genuine reform, not just talk about it. Senator Obama has the most liberal voting record, the most partisan of any Senator in the United States Senate,” McCain said.
And just as Clinton was asking her voters to trust Obama on foreign policy, McCain argued that he has stronger national security credentials, adding that there are supporters of the NY Senator, “who don’t want us to sit down with (Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad and other tyrants, who don’t want us a to set a date for withdrawal and declare defeat in Iraq.”

McCain is a fool. It isn’t exactly a good thing when he claims to have the same supporters as a women that Republicans genuinely hate!
What are the Republicans doing? Are they so afraid of being controlled by the “fundamentalist right” that they are willing to push a candidate who goes against so many basic Conservative values?
I am a strong Hillary supporter. I will vote for Hillary should she be the nominee. I will never vote for Obama. So, if Obama becomes the illegitimate nominee, I will vote McCain. What McCain needs to do to appeal to Hillary’s people is to talk about Obama’s contradictions that he is a change candidate. That Obama has run one of the most low down campaigns in history; that Obama is nothing more than the embodiment of Chicago politics. Talk about how Obama copies Hillary’s ideas and is all about speeches and not solutions. Talk about how he suppressed the voters of Michigan and Florida and refused to allow them the opportunity for a revote. Talk about how he only wanted 48 states to count and that he would only be willing to count the votes in FL and MI if he were to become the nominee. Find that tape of Michelle Obama with Farakhan where she makes racial remarks about white people saying “whitey”. Attack Obama on his foreign policy experience and how living in a foreign country from ages 6-10 qualifies one to be president. Talk about his elitism and his distain for women. Find out what is making us Hillary supporters mad and make sure we don’t forget it come November. So, if Obama is the nominee, then congratulations President McCain…..

Hillary Clinton is STUNNING!!!
You have just witnessed the greatest political campaign fight in American history. One for the textbooks, and the history books. Hillary Clinton fought her heart out against all odds to win for all of the American people . While at the same time doing her best to prepare Sen. Barack Obama to win in November if he was the nominee. STUNNING!!! WELL DONE HILLARY CLINTON. WELL DONE! Your AMAZING!
Sen. Obama could not have had a better opponent than Hillary Clinton. Nor could he have had a better opponent to prepare him for the battle royal to come against John McCain and the Republicans ahead of the November elections. Hillary Clinton was like a big Mama cat determined to teach her kitten how to hunt, and hang with the big dogs for the fights ahead.
And how about Bill Clinton, Chelsea, and th whole Clinton team. They were magnificent. They really showed their metal. BRAVO! TEAM CLINTON… BRAVO!
And how about YOU! my fellow Americans. I’m so proud of you. And proud to be one of you. You showed what you are made of. And what makes America so great. You never gave up on your Champion Hillary Clinton. Time, and time again you eagerly waited your turn to vote for Hillary Clinton. To pick her up and pass her along down the line to the rest of your fellow Americans.
You never gave up on her. Just as Hillary Clinton never gave up on you. No matter how many times they counted her out. No matter how many times they brutally knocked her down. You knew she would get back up. And you were ready to support her when she did. AMERICA LOVES A FIGHTER. AMERICA UNDERSTANDS A FIGHTER. AMERICA IS A FIGHTER. I’M PROUD OF YOU AMERICA!
Hillary said she would accept the VP spot on the ticket if ask. And I am thrilled to hear that. I think it would be crazy not to take her up on that offer. You could not have a better VP than Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton is Sen. Obama’s best chance of winning the Whitehouse in November. And it is essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse.
The American people are in a very desperate condition now. George Bush has wrecked America, and much of the world.
YOU MADE US VERY PROUD HILLARY CLINTON!
WE LOVE YOU…
jacksmith… Working Class
p.s. I really liked Sen. Barack Obama’s speech in Minnesota. I think he just maybe ready now for the Bush Republican attack machine, dirty tricks, and vote fraud machine.
I’ll support you, Senator McCain.
Last night, Senator Clinton stated that she wants respect for her nearly 18 million supporters. Those words were particularly salient, and heartfelt. She also said she wants to know what they think. Speaking for friends, my family, and myself I will shift my allegiance to McCain. I’m convinced many of Hillary’s supporters will not be amenable to her accepting second chair as VP on an Obama ticket. I know I don’t want her to accept the VP slot. My reasoning is simple, and it’s not sour grapes. Obama is not only experientially unqualified, but he has demonstrated extremely poor judgment, revealed disingenuous sentiments, and advanced politically expedient policy positions. In short, he is the very last person I would support for president.
The pundits and DNC perpetual peddling of the idea that Hillary’s supporters will swing their votes to Obama in November is unfounded and patently untrue. There are no circumstances under which I will ever cast my vote for Obama. Virtually everyone I know feels exactly the same way. We are life long, loyal Democrats, but we value patriotism and love of country more than the Democratic Party Obama-based agenda.
I will continue to support Senator Clinton vis a vis my letter writing, e-mailing, and blogging campaigns, because I know she is the strongest and smartest choice. Still, if the worst case scenario is realized with BO on the top of the ticket, I will cast my vote for McCain without compunction.
Hillary was my first choice. Oh well, looks like its gonna be McCain.
I know there are a lot of women out there who feel Clinton was dumped on by the Media, DNC, Super Delegates and Obama and i agree fully. I just hope she doesn’t join Obama on the ticket to help him win. She would be a lock in 2012.
I’m one of those who will vote McCain. Obama doesn’t have what it takes and he hangs with radicals.
I’m with you President McCann.
McCann 08
Don’t settle for 2nd place Hillary. YOU are the Best qualified to be President…Not Obama. To be his VP would only lower your standards. DON’T go down with Obama….let him go down by himself.
I plan on voting for McCain in Nov. Clinton was my first choice. I’m so disappointed in the way the DNC handled MI and FL. Obama is too liberal and inexperienced for me.

==========================
People who say things like this are what is wrong with the Republican party. (Guessing Jane is a Republican)
Mitt Romney wouldn’t have stood a chance against Hillary. Obama doesn’t stand a chance against McCain. The Republican people have nominated the only candidate who is moderate enough to have a decent shot at the White House. I’d much sooner have a Republican who can reach across party lines and find support from the other side than one who doesn’t listen to any side but his own. That’s why the Obama will lose.
Voted for Hillary in primary.
Voting for McCain in November.
Maybe Hillary should join the McCain ticket?
Disillusioned Dems unite for McCain! Obama is the real Bush third term. Not all change is good - especially the change from far right to far left. Extreme = Extreme so Obama = Bush!
Obama has no good VP choices, and he is too arrogant to ask Hillary. I am sure it isn’t her first choice anyway. She would be great on the supreme court though!
We have more to worry about with an extreme left, biracial presumptive nominee who has marinated in a Black Liberation Theology church under racist sermons for decades and who has very poor judgment in his selection of close friends.
Maybe Hillary should join the McCain ticket?

I’m a Clinton supporter and if she’s not on the Democratic ticket, you’ve got my vote John McCain.
I have and still do support Hillary. If she makes to Denver and makes a strong case then she will have my vote. If Obama is still on the ballot I will vote for McCain.
Sounds good to me.
McCain may want to finish the war but he also has one son over in Iraq and one who may go so he isn’t asking for anything he is not willing to do himself. And he has a better plan for America, it doesn’t include a billion more taxes for all those freebies at the expence of the working class, not to mention running more jobs out of the country by over taxing them.
Senator Hillary Clinton is a true American legend. I always knew that sexism run deeper then racism in this country and our senator made history by withstanding the highest level of the sexism battle storm Americans have ever seen in the history of the primaries in this country like a true American war hero in pant suit! Perhaps, she lost the battle but I know she will win the war in 2012! I strongly recommend her to stay in as long as she can because Obama with his hollow hope for change is very questionable and I will vote for McCain because I will take four more years of Bush then one day of uncertainty with Hussein Obama.

VALIANT, WAR-HERO McCain vs. SANDBAGGER Obama…
We need a President who is BRILLIANT, EXPERIENCED, and a FIGHTER for all of us.
John McCain is a fighter, and he certainly is EXPERIENCED, with self-sacrificing military service. We can never thank him enough for all that he has sacrificed and done for our country. I respect that he has put country over party.
Barack Obama is smart, but he has NO EXPERIENCE, no military service; he’s a lightweight.
Hillary Clinton is BRILLIANT, EXPERIENCED, and a FIGHTER for ALL the American people. She has the best overall resume and sees the big picture. She knows how to get things done.
If Senator Clinton concedes, I will immediately contribute to the candidacy of John McCain, who is the next best candidate available.
That Barack Obama would throw his hat into the ring to run for Commander in Chief is a mark of man full of HUBRIS!
Barack Obama…Change you can believe in. That’s right! His candidacy will change up to 18 million voters, who want Hillary Clinton to be their President, into Republican voters. There are even people who voted for Obama in the primary, who have had buyer’s remorse now that they see his true heart. Using his church for political gain, Reverend Wright, Pflerger, Ayers, plagiarism, BAD JUDGMENT and so much more. Let’s not forget Michelle, who is proud of her country for the first time in her adult life. Disgusting! She can’t recover from that. She showed her true Reverend Wright heart.
I have voted for a Democratic President for the past four decades. However, I will NEVER vote for Barack Obama–who has lied and cheated his way by tampering with RULES.
Obama’s people eliminated his competition in 1996 when he first ran for the Illinois state legislature. They knocked all three of his opponents on technicalities–invoking the “Rules” argument–sound familiar Florida and Michigan? Then there was his opponent, Ryan, for the 2004 U.S. Senate race–surprise–Obama advocated having Ryan’s divorce records made public to embarrass him. Ryan was the favorite to win, and he dropped out of the race leaving Obama unopposed until Keyes jumped in to weakly oppose Obama. People don’t change.
Obama is a SANDBAGGER.
Obama’s lawyers and operatives did everything they could to diminish the voters in Michigan and Florida. Our important primary votes were suppressed for months and ultimately diminished.
We will have a FULL VOTE in NOVEMBER and those votes WILL NOT BE FOR Obama.
It will be the RULES that will be his downfall. Clinton or McCain in 2008!
I so hope Hillary does not agree to be on the ticket.
Therefore I can vote for McCain!
Barack has no businesss being POTUS!
Sad, very sad.
–p.
Both Obama and Hillary’s platforms were similar. HE won the primary. Only hatred and prejudice would stop a person from voting what closely fits the candidate they initially wanted. Is this the 1960’s or the NEW millenium???…this primary has only re-surfaced the ugly side of America…….I supported him but had already made plans to vote for her is she won because its about the “party”, not the individual……grow up people, or just leave the country….
Yahoo big mac Im hopping on the big mac express former dem
He will have my vote if Obama is my other option. No one tells me who I will vote for, NO ONE. Not a bias media or the DNC good ole boys. If it is not Hillary, than it is McCain for me. I have switched from Democrat to Independent and will damn well vote for who I believe can keep my children safe. That is not Obama
If not Hillary, then I will be voting for McCain. I won’t have to Wonder what his agenda is…McCain puts it All right out there on the table and you Know what your getting with McCain. I don’t want to risk the future of my children and grandchildren on a Risky Change which is what Obama offers. Not all Change is Good. I’ll stick with what I Know.
Reagan ‘80 / McCain ‘08
mccain is the better than obama,, obama 2008 no no ,,,,,,, the media steal this election from hillary
NOW THEY ARE TREATING HILLARY OK…. AFTER THE MEDIA AND OBAMA HIMSELL TRASH HER .
NOW THIS PEOPLE THINKS WE ARE STUPIDS…… MCCAIN. 2008
WHATS GOING ON WITH OBAMA HE IS A RADICAL…… LIKE HIS FRIENDS
If you are truly a Hillary supporter, then you’ll do what she says and I can promise you she doesn’t want you to vote for McCain.
I am a Michigan voter who voted for Clinton. She won’t get on the ticket with Obama because he doesn’t want her on-just her “help in November”. If Obama is the Democratic candidate in November, Mc Cain gets my vote-first time for a republican!
Dream Ticket 2008: McCain/Clinton. Email John McCain today urging him to select Hillary Clinton as his running mate. Now that would be CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN.
I supported HRC because of her experience and I know she would have been a great president. DNC has treated her in a very disrespectful manner and I hope she does not join BO as VP - he will only use her since he is incapable of leading this Nation. Best result — McCain should think very long and strong about asking her to be his VP — she has shown true grit and would be an asset to the Republican Party and would be a definite asset for Republicans to retain the White House. It is certain that she is a great leader — smart — kind and caring. I will support McCain — never Barak Obama — and I won’t change my mind by election time as those foolish DNC people say will happen.
I love the math equation put up by ‘aware’. Extreme = Extreme so Obama = Bush!
I think I’ve seen that kind of math done before by Hillary with the delegates and GW with the war.
If you really support Hillary you’ll do exactly what the party and Hillary say on Friday. What is so extreme about Obama to Hillary anyway?? They have almost identical stances on everything. I’m tired of all these baby boomers who swear up and down that race has nothing to do with their voting decisions. SHAME! I am proud to have Obama as next President and mark my words…he will be the next President. And to all of you who voted for GW…well, we’ve seen what your genius thinking has done for this country.
I am for Hillary she is the best she proved herself to be a very strong person we can all learn from her fortitude, her strength, she never gave up even maybe knowing she would not win. As a women I consider her a winner. There is still a lot of sexism in this country no matter what color you are. Men still believe that women are not as smart as they are it is in every culture. She lost this race to sexism not because of race. The so called superdelagates are wimps they choose obama because he is a male so one of their own and the women superdelegates choose him because they they are afraid to buck the estabishment maybe even out of resentment and jealousy because she is such a strong female person. My vote this fall will go to McCain. obama is not fit to be president he is all talk and when he makes speeches he preaches just like wright only he uses words that for some unknown reason a lot of American People seem to want to believe. This man has a hidden agenda and it does not bode good fro America McCain 08
This “bitter” “typica white woman” will be voting for McCain. Obama doesn’t like this type of voter.
Somone already beat me to this on another blog. This website is a great on for democrats that feel screwed.
http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/
If Hillary backs Obama I am going to have to vote for McCain.
I am another Clinton supporter that has no problem voting for McCain in November. What the DNC fails to realize is that a lot of people, like me, vote for the person ….not the party. I’m not about to vote for an uberliberal scrub with no resume to run this great nation.
Count me in as one who will never ever vote for Obama and after many years as a loyal dem will vote for McCain. Please do not have Hillary for VP because I will have to still say NO because he would still be in charge. So yes McCain welcome to the white house at least with you we know you and your wife love America and you had respect for Hillary through out this race and you do not have untrustworthy friends. I want Hillary as President but if it can’t be then it will be McCain NOT OBAMA !!!!!!!!

McCain, you just got one more Black American vote.
We love Hillary, and we like and trust you to keep America safe and sound. Not just with the enemy over sea, but safe from all of the enemy right here in this country.
Now that we have joined you McCain, it is time for you to start supporting some of the things that we needed from Hillary. I have given her a tried and true Healthcare Reform plan and I will now give it to you. I will email it to you soon. A plan that both parties have endorsed. Not a communist plan like B. Hussein Osama is trying to push.
Another thing we need that Hillary supporters endorse, a good strong crime bill that would be similar to what we did in the 90s. A strong crime bill will help to keep the Osama thugs in line with American values.
I will soon be writing to you with all of the issues and data that we have from Hillary. Also look foward to our financial support as well.
Thank you for inviting us over to the “Save America” side of this whole thing.

From Hillary to McCain 2008 !!!
i was planning on voting for Mccain. He has a lot of issues. as an independent you really need more substance. he projects the same rhetoric as his sponsor. not good when you hear him fumbling over his words. he is even using demorcrats Change theme. what is up with that ? He
can’t come up with hise own ideas. that is very sad.
really not Good if thats considered his best foot forward..
Just made my first donation to John McCain and it felt good … if the DNC and little Howard Dean do not want Hillary Clinton, then I really have no need to support the Democratic Party any longer. Recommend that all of you Hillary supporters in Florida and Michigan head to John McCain’s web site … he will treat you a little better than little Howard Dean and the DNC did. I know he will count your vote.
Real Democrats “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”
Vote for John McCain 08
“Go Navy” … Go John McCain.
As a Hillary supporter, I am now supporting McCain (unless something changes in the Dem nominee–you never know what might happen). John is honorable, tough and has known what it means to be deprived of freedom, and hence, how precious freedom is.
I guess all the Republicans need to do, is to keep informing Hillary supporters about how bad the DNC treated her.
…Just because I am a Hillary supporter does not mean that she is the best candidate but the fact is with her what you see is what you get.
…Another thing that amazes me, do people get it? Obama keeps talking about change for one simple reason to overshadow the message of experience that he lacks.
…Between me and my relatives 6 Hillary votes are definitely going for Mr. Mccain.
Hillary or Mccain
I am appalled at those who claim to be true Democrats wanting to support John Mccain in November just because their choice of a Democratic Nominee was not the winner. I call that sore losers for sure, and a very divided type of Democrat. This is what is wrong with America…none are ever true to what party they choose in the beginning, and even though you have that choice, which I would never want to step on toes and deny you your choice, I also find this kind of rhetoric very disheartening to the Democratic Party. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for being so superficial in your affiliation with this election. Go ahead….vote for Mccain because Hillary did not win the nomination…then you can keep your mouths shut, and not whine and complain when this Iraq war bankrupts America because you are all too scared to elect a black man to the white house…and by the way I am a white 50 year old female, with a college education, working in a domestic job that pays little….yeah 4 more years of Republican rule is just what I want…NOT!!!!
I voted for Hillary in the primary.
If Hillary isn’t the nominee, McCain gets my vote.
Count me in. I never voted for a Republican before but this year every Democrat I know (and I know plenty) are saying:
McCain 08′
ANYBODY BUT OBAMA.
Democrat for McCain “08″….Congratulations President McCain…
Hillary supporter, Let’s make sure we keep our word and vote for McCain in November. We can’t allow this Country we so love be in the hands of this man that deep down inside has the same thoughts as the Rev. I can’t stand the media on the other networks that are still talking bad about Hillary. It’s seems like to them everything she does is wrong. She was a Democrat just like them and yet they treated her so badly. And now we have all these Obama supporters playing nice. To late, It’s McCain in November.
Obama is getting smarter, he has learned a lot from listening to Hillary but I still will not vote for him. I do not like or trust his friends. Therefore I can not trust him. I also know how he came up in the corrupt Chicago political scene and how he eliminated his opponents so he was the only one left on the ticket. He is a fraud. At least McCain is honest and I feel like I can believe him. I do not like a lot of McCains policies but I trust him to be patriotic and to do his best for my country.
Hoping that Hillary will take her case to the convention, and make her compelling case and get the nomination. Otherwise, I too will will vote for McCain. Obama can’t be trusted, way too radical left for this conservative democrat.
How idiotic can you So called hiliary supporters be. Obama and Hiliary were very similar.. MCcain is the total opposite. If you vote for Mccain your being foolish. Real Democrats stick together.
WOW why have an election? lets all declare McCain the winner.
I too hope hillary will not join Obama, then she will look foolish after the way he and the dnc have treated her,and lose if she runs in 2012, I think the American people(in whole) will soon realize who the real obama is and would vote for her in 2012.I hope she sticks to her guns like she has been telling us…..
I wish she would join Mccain and not Obama, atleast she will show her strength and disgust for the dnc who betrayed her.

MCCAIN/CLINTON 2008….TOGETHER THEY WILL WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION!
MCCAIN PICK HILLARY AS A RUNNING MATE!
I think a MCCAIN/CLINTON TICKET WOULD BE AWSOME!
I’m a Clinton supporter who will now vote for McCain.
I was against the war and for universal healthcare, abortion rights, and a new foreign policy. But since she lost I’ve changed my mind on these issues. Yes, I know Clinton herfself will vote for Obama, and maybe even be his running mate. But for me, the important thing to focus on is campaign tactics and personality traits. I don’t like Obama.
Plus, the important thing is winning. The future will take care of itself.
If you people think that McCain is better than Obama, you are all sad–Obama is a breath of
fresh air compared to pasty faced old school same, same, same politics!
Obama will never agree to this…too uncontrolled for his handlers. Too unpredictable….Obama could easily be shown up by McCain very early in the campaign…he would have to think on the spot which is not good for him….to inexperienced..Obama is.
Hillary Supporter who is 100% behind Obama. McCain continues to vote against the troops on important legislation while screaming his military credentials. As a 27 year and still serving veteran I’m oging with the party that actually cares about the people in the military and not just the defense industry. It will be fun to watch the debates with flip flop McCain and Barack the next President of the United States
June 5, 2008
Senator Clinton was forced by “this three high-powered House Democrats leaned on Clinton” to end her campaign this week, and she is listening to them by ending her campaign on Saturday, unfortunately for the Democratic Party many of Senator Clinton’s supporters such as myself, are so angry by the way she was treated by the Democratic party and the DNC. Obama will not get my vote and of my friends’s votes because his has no experience in many issues. Our vote will go for Senator McCain, to prove the Democrats that we female voters can not be taken for granted.
Party Unity is a bunch of lies.
Thank you very much.
So… you voted in the primary for Hillary, someone who stands for universal health care, aid for the poor, fiscal responsibility, getting out of Iraq, and a break from the same ol’ same ol’ in Washington.
And now that she lost, you’ve decided to vote for someone who doesn’t care about the poor, doesn’t have universal health care as part of his platform, who wants to keep taxes low while dumping billions of dollars and gallons of blood in Iraq for a decade or more, the guy who, despite rhetoric, wants to perpetuate Bush’s foreign, fiscal and domestic policies.
Yeah, that’s smart. You go do that.
DOES ANYONE HAVE THE WEB SITE ADDRESS FOR THE “HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTERS FOR JOHN MCCAIN?”
INTERESTED IN CHECKING OUT THE SITE. I AM A CLINTON SUPPORTERS THAT IS CONSIDERING VOITING FOR MC CAIN.
THANK YOU.

Hillary listen dump the traitors in DN and convince McCain to take you as VP - Now that would be an winner ticket for sure!!
McCain you have no fire in you ma’man. Get Hillary on your side. I will vote for this combination and McCain I swear that would be the best UNITY message you could give this country.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE McCain/Hillary ticket (boy that would piss both paries - TIME TO START A REVULUTION)
The 2 party system sucks anyway - look at them fighting like dogs and cats in congress; never passing anyting for the American poeple!!
Wait, I forgot they passed to put the white bear on the endagered list so we cannot drill in Alaska - soon we will pay $10 a gallon at the pump - thanks democrats.
LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THE SPOT FOR SORE LOSERS
You’re all a bunch of fair weathered Democrats. I can’t believe any of you think that McCain is a viable option over Obama. Shame on you all. You might as well re-register as republicants.
Why hasn’t Obama been forced to release his birth certificate?
Maybe Fox could find it!
Well, he’s got a lot of new supporters, with more to come I’m sure. This campaign was a farce and the way she’s been strongarmed despite over 17 million votes is disgusting. We voted against Obama for a *reason* and I don’t care if he has a D beside his name, I DO NOT think he is qualified, or suitable, to lead this country.
