An Obama conversion on the road to Baghdad?
done
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — After learning that Sen. Obama is planning a trip to Iraq, Sen. McCain continued to rap the Democrat for a “fundamental misunderstanding of the gravity” of traveling to the region, but added that he is “confident” a trip to Iraq will convince his anti-war rival that victory is possible.
“I certainly was…glad to hear that Senator Obama is now quote ‘considering’ a trip to Iraq. It’s long overdue. It’s been 871 days since he was there,” McCain said at a nearly 30 minute media availability Wednesday afternoon, after slamming Obama on the issue at an earlier town hall in Nevada. “I’m confident that when he goes he will then change his position on the conflict in Iraq because he will see the success that has been achieved on the ground…Presidents have to listen and learn. Presidents have to make judgments no matter how unpopular or popular they may be. So the success in Iraq is undeniable.”
Asked if he would have more respect for Obama’s position on the war even if the IL Senator were to travel to the region but remain convinced the U.S. has to begin troop withdrawals, McCain maintained his unlikely assertion that Obama will ’see the light’ on Iraq.
“The facts on the ground, I’m sure would convince any objective observer. That’s why I say that I’m encouraged that he’s going because the facts on the ground are very, very clear. The statistics are there. Facts are facts,” McCain told reporters. “And I’m confident that he would certainly…recognize that this strategy is succeeding, and we have drawn down troops to the pre-surge level and we will come home with honor and victory and there will be stability in the region and that will make for a long term benefit to the United States and our national security interests.”
In telling the New York Times today that he was considering a trip to Iraq, Obama added that he would likely travel to the region on his own while calling the McCain proposal for a joint-trip a “political stunt.”
The GOPer did not take kindly to that characterization today. (video above)
“That is again a result of Senator Obama’s lack of appreciation of the importance of this issue. My friend, 4,000, more than 4,000 brave young Americans have given their lives. To say that, that my urging a person who wants to be President of the United States to go to Iraq for the first time in 871 days and see the situation for himself and to call that a publicity stunt is a fundamental misunderstanding of the gravity of this issue…and again a lack of judgment about how important this issue…and frankly, I don’t think that people who serve there would believe that a visit to find out the facts by a person who wants to lead the country would be a quote, ‘stunt.’”
Per FNC’s Bonney Kapp, Obama spoke to reporters aboard his plane tonight where he said GOP attacks over the frequency of his visits to Iraq are “diversions.”
“I don’t think that John McCain or the Bush administration have a very strong argument to make about their foreign policy so they’re gonna try to come up with diversions or distractions and not argue the substance,” Obama said Wednesday night.

McCain is reaching………What’s after straws? Air?
“It’s been 871 days since he was there,”
What….is McCain a Keith Olberman fan? Counting down days? Obama watch?
Come on McCain…..you’re more obsessed with Obama than the liberal media……
I’m very dissappointed in Obama’s response to McCain’s suggestion that they take a joint trip to Iraq. Such a trip would be quite unprecedented (to my limited knowledge of such things) and a great way to launch his “post-partisan” presidential campaign. So far McCain is doing a better job keeping the campaign civil than Obama.
According to McCain, Obama has to “go to Iraq” to see any facts. That means the current administration, which McCain supports, is treating intelligence either dishonestly or ineptly.
Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon.
The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates – as CNN points out clearly
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/20/primary.wrap/index.html
If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama
If you haven’t done so yet, please write a message to each of your state’s superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com
Obama Supporters:
Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it’s appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It’s that easy…
Clinton Supporters too …. !
It takes a moment, but what’s a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth !

Obama did not plan a trip to Iraq - Mccain said that Obama hasn’t been in years and may be should go there with Mccain - Obama responded “that could be possible in the near future” - what’s he supposed to say “I’m never going to Iraq”- he’s a puppet and say what he thinks will win him this election and you are all buying it. He is not planning a trip to Iraq - he was forced into making a comment about Iraq and the fact that he hasn’t visited to know how things are going. I hate false advertisement!!
Obama in Iraq. He should feel right at home
obama: stuck between Iraq and a hard place.
distractions????!!!!!!!!
I just heard Obama’s communication director say that Obama “may” plan a trip before November. He also stated Obama felt our troops have more important duties to perform than to be a part of a photo op - and now he’s planning to go???????? Gues he feels a photo op won’t be so bad after all. Talk about someone doing ANYTHING to get elected.

Days since the Want-A-Be-Commander-In-Chief, BHO has visited the troops in Iraq, unreal! You will never hear this on the No Barak Criticism channel. It is hard to imagine the individual who wants to be the leader of this country cannot find the time to visit with the men and woman who make this the greatest country on earth. Now I know the spinners out there will say, he has been busy with the campaign and doing other noble work. Really? John McCain has been there 8 times during this same timeframe! BHO could find the time to visit (vacation) in the Virgin Islands, hang out with his friends in San Francisco, and maybe spend some time in Berkley, seems he found time to do everything but spend time with the troops in Iraq. And now that puppet-boy’s strings have been pulled on this issue; he announces plans to visit this summer! WHAT A JOKE.
This is the most indecisive person I have ever seen, he is a puppet. Just pull his string and he dances just the way you want him too, how funny.
For example:
When pushed about not visiting Iraq – pull the string, now he is planning a trip.
When pushed about his “like an uncle” reverend – pull the sting, and he throws the person who baptized his kids and married him and his wife away like a used tissue! Nice job puppet-boy!
When pushed about wearing the flag pin – pull the sting and now he can’t take it off!
When pushed about meeting with the leader of Iran – pull the string, and now he will decide exactly who he will meet with at a later date, I guess he is waiting to see which way the wind blows!
And why we are on the subject of pulling his strings…when is the Junior Senator from Illinois going to release his medical records? There were cries for John McCain’s and he released them, (the person is in great shape by the way). Why no records from BHO? Is he hiding something? I mean we all know he was a smoker for well over 20 years, maybe he has a health issue he doesn’t want us to know about? Whatever the reason, it looks ridiculous when you are in your 40’s and push to have your 72-year old opponent release his medical records and you don’t. I am not worried however, I know a few tugs on his string and the puppet will be dancing!
All of this is very humorous and I enjoy sharing it with you all. The only thing that is not funny is that so many people are oblivious to this person and are willing to blindly follow their new messiah. It reminds me of Jim Jones and what happened in Guyana, and how his believers followed him with the same blindness. And no, I don’t think BHO is a cult leader, it is just sad when the people are incapable of seeing the king is naked.
It is doubtful much conversion of ideals will result from BHO’s trip to Iraq. He’ll likely not have substantive meetings with executive leaders there. Clearly…he’s trying to sway the youthful military vote (so this will be a schuck and shake jam session)–and hopes to add a bullet to his very weak national defense and foreign relations resume.
McCain will continue his comments because of the fundamental difference between the Republicans and Democrats. Keep in mind that he would be saying the same thing if Hillary were the candidate!
The Republicans have had 8 years to get this right and they have failed! Our major objective was getting Osama Bin Laden - when we entered Iraq our attention was diverted and remains so to this day! George W. Bush’s legacy will not be helped by our involvement in Iraq!
I have not heard Sen. Obama say that he didn’t intend for are pull out or end in Iraq
to be less then honorable ; Unlike how it began.
I am not aware nor have I heard it mentioned that Sen. Obama (if nominated/and then elected) has plans for anything but, an honorable pull out or end in Iraq. Being different then how it began.
The first thing I thought was: way to go, Barack. Way to demonstrate your so-called bipartisanship. You can’t even stand up in front of our troops and show a united front for those who are fighting for YOU and OUR COUNTRY. Love the hypocrisy, Obama. Keep characterizing anything that highlights your ignorance as ‘divisive’ (PLEASE learn the correct pronunciation), ‘distracting’ or a ‘diversion’ from your empty mantra of hope/change/unity. And keep clarifying (read: changing) your irrresponsible positions, too. All the media and blind left-wing support will not win you the general election, but hey! Keep on reminding us why we will never vote for you.
go
The far side strip said it best: “What if we gave a war and everyone came?”
Yet our boy Obama can’t decide if Iraq is good or bad from a safe distance? Can’t see the budget sheet bleeding cash for Iraq? Can’t read the Bible with blood leaking out from wars there since the beginning of time?
I can see it now: GOP announces they can take Obama by his leash and make him go to Iraq…
For Obama to say that John McCain is trying to pull a “political stunt” is out-rageous. John McCain goes to Iraq to support our troops PERIOD.
Obama needs to quit with the McCain bashing and “stick to the issues” as he likes to say.
If Obama were the last candidate in the universe, I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR HIM.
I think I’ll go drink a coke, turn on Fox and see what they are all doing today.
Ok, things are getting better. Victory is here. Let’s declare it. The military won this years ago, the politicians keep losing it, and the military has to come in and win it again. This whole thing has degraded into nothing but a political testicular and chest pounding contest. contest. Going to Iraq to visit the Green zone and then do a tour of a market with 200 body guards isn’t going to give Obama any more information than he has or needs. Leave the poor military personnel that have to put on a dog and pony show for these politicians alone. Political visits don’t help. It takes away from doing work our fine soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen really need to do, getting things to a point where the U.S. can get the heck out.
Anyone who believes that a temporary military advantage without political agreement among the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds is a victory is not competent to serve as president.
It would be nice if Obama would go and view the results of the war that should never has been waged and the whole region thrown into tumoil by the Republicans. McCain will be there for 100 years.
Ah, a typical Fox tag headline, “fair and balanced”. Senator Obama can’t go to Baghdad with Senator McCain. On McCain’s last visit it took the better half of two divisions, several armored columns, most of America’s air reserve, and the remnants of several Shia militias just to ensure that Senator McCain was safe in the market he decided to visit. With Obama along for the ride, they will need an additional 400,000 infantry. More, if they add to their press pool or visit a mosque. Besides, Joe Lieberman and Lindsey Graham are tied up until November and John doesn’t go anywhere without them. Good news! The White House has just announced it has released Scott McClellan to go with them, but only if they forgo the infantry, armor, and air cover. Karl Rove is one clever guy.
I used to like John McCain but that has quickly deteriorated. I detest his comments, constantly voiced in a seething manner, that make him look like a guy who is going to explode any minute. I don’t know if it is real anger or acted but it scare the hell out of me. Like we need more of THAT in the world.
And I hate his constant condescending usage of “my friend” or “my friends”. I can’t believe I ever supported him. The first republican who tells Karl Rove to “take a hike” might…MIGHT…get me back to the conservative fold someday…but I won’t hold my breath.

This is why Hillary is the strongest canidate for the Republicans for the general election.
Poor obama and his diversions and distractions,he never answers any questions! he justs diverts and distracts from them. idiot of the year, msnbc, nbc, and cnn get fools of the year award!
DEMOCRATS FOR HILLARY/McCAIN UNITE YES WE WILL !!!!
The dangerous situation in Iraq is due to this administration’s policies! Scott McCellin, former WH press secretary and longtime member of the Bush inner circle, has just released a very telling book outlining the Administrations outright use of propaganda and manipulation of facts to convince the American people that Iraq posed an emanate danger to our security. Much of the so called intelligence presented as evidence to go to war was largely proven to be exaggerated or false.
John McCain seems to have bought into this dangerous line of thinking hook-line-and sinker. He also seems to not fully understand the roll the US invasion is having in strengthening Iran. I think this shows a lack of clear judgment, and for all Sen. McCain’s bluster about who to and who not- to talk with… Although I respect his service to this country, I think he is the one with a “lack of appreciation of the importance of this issue”
Like it or not Fox News readers, the GOP is in trouble in 2008:
1. Bush, Republican popularity at all time low
2. Support for war in Iraq, at all time low. McCain says he will “Win” the war by 2013…..
3. Very recent shake-ups in McCain’s campaign inner circle. 5 or more out due to lobby ties, one main staff member/adviser recently quit because he promised himself he would not work against Obama’s candidacy.
4. Recent republican party concerns about McCains lack of clear organization in his campaign and worries that he is not at all using his head start efectively .
5. Obama now has more than 1.5 million individual donors and almost one million dedicated volunteers- the GOP cant touch those numbers.
6. ‘Vote for Change’ voter registration drive, will ultimately add millions of new voters to the map.
7. Barack Obama is not John Kerry, he will hit back hard against republican and 527 attacks and has begun doing so in an effective way.
8. “Obama Organizing Fellows” a large dedicated group of professional volunteers already deployed to and working on the ground in ‘Battleground’ states. McCain does not have the organizational set up on the ground that he will ultimately need.
- Obama!! Yes We Can!!! 2008
Is this the same McCain who was talking about US Generals riding around in unarmed Humvees?
Obama already knows we are winning Iraq. He can not and will not admit it however.
How could he justify winning to the rest of the Democrat losers?
What would a joint McCain-Obama trip to Iraq accomplish, if not a political stunt? Obama should go to Iraq, but I’m sure he won’t be persuaded that all is now hunky-dorry as he’s being hustled around in a flack jacket with a huge security detail. What solace is there in that? McCain may think his staged trip through a Baghdad market is enlightening, but for a normal person, helicopters buzzing overhead and throngs of machine gun-clad security brutes is anything but a sign of progress. McCain needs to wake up and smell the coffee. November 4, 2008 can’t come soon enough!
“And I’m confident that he would certainly…recognize that this strategy is succeeding, and we have drawn down troops to the pre-surge level and we will come home with honor and victory and there will be stability in the region and that will make for a long term benefit to the United States and our national security interests.”
John McCain is living in a fantasy if he thinks there’s ever going to be “stability” there.
Obama has never said anything about success or lack of it, his position is simply that he’s going to begin pulling the troops within his first year in office. If what McCain says is correct, that there is so much success, then pulling the troops shouldn’t be a problem. IN this case, if there is so much success, why doesn’t McCain join Obama in calling for the wrapping up of the war and the removal of troops?
If victory is so obtainable then how come it hasn’t come sooner?
The stunt Obama referred to was a joint trip to Iraq with McCain, as McCain had suggested.
One can make arguments about when and how to withdraw troops from Iraq and what will be the consequences of doing so. McCain speaks with conviction on this issue. When you get down to the most important decision a president can make, whether to send troops to war, he becomes quite mealy-mouthed, and changes the subject to criticize how the war has been conducted. Until he better addresses his own reasons for supporting a preemptive war to begin with, how he judged or misjudged the available intelligence, and what he felt would be the consequences of war, his criticisms of Obama’s judgement ring somewhat hollow. It is insufficient to state that if the war had been conducted his way, we would not be in this mess.
If Obama goes with McCain — the good things our troops have accomplished will have to be reported.
If Obama goes with his “DNC Pals”, they, along with the “biased media” will make everything go in Obama’s favor!
He has lied throughout this campaign. He has too many ties to terrorists and anti-Americans.
THESE ARE BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S “RACISTS” COMMENTS:
FROM “DREAMS OF MY FATHER”:
“I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”.
FROM “DREAMS OF MY FATHER”:
“I CEASED TO ADVERTISE MY MOTHER’S RACE AT ABOUT 12 OR 13, WHEN I BEGAN TO SUSPECT THAT BY DOING SO I WAS INGRATIATING MYSELF TO WHITES”
AND THEN THIS SCARY ONE:
FROM ‘THE AUDACITY OF HOPE, “I WILL STAND WITH THE MUSLIMS SHOULD THE POLITICAL WINDS OF WAR SHIFT IN AN UGLY DIRECTION”.
A SMILING FACE AND STUPID “NON-ANSWERS TO POINTED QUESTIONS”. HE USES ANSWERS LIKE, “OH, IT’S JUST MORE OF THE SAME OLD POLITICS.” THIS IS JUST A VERY SMALL SAMPLE OF WHY HE SHOULD NOT BE PRESIDENT. HE DOESN’T GIVE REAL ANSWERS BECAUSE HE HAS NONE.
HE IS JUST A SMILING FACE WITH A PAT SPEECH AND THE REST IS HOLLOW.
BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA AND HIS TERRORIST, ANTI-AMERICAN COMRADES WILL DESTROY AMERICA!
HE’S STEALING THE NOMINATION BY NOT COUNTING THE VOTES IN FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN.
NOW HE WILL ALLOW THE “DELEGATES” TO BE SEATED FOR FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN — BUT— HE WON’T LET THE “CITIZENS’” VOTES COUNT! “WE THE PEOPLE” DON’T COUNT BUT THE “DELEGATES” DO?????
WE NEED TO VOTE FOR NEW MEMBERS IN CONGRESS. THE ONES WE HAVE DO NOT LISTEN TO OUR VOICES.
MCCAIN OR CLINTON IN 2008!
when will it work
McCain, besides boldly stating that he defends and wants to continue GWBushs policies, abandoned his independent (Republican) principals, his constituents and his conscience in 2004 when he threw all of his support behind Bush and proceeded to strongly back whatever Bush-Cheney offered. That was likely done for the promise of support and the powerful and influential, both overt and covert, backing of McCain in 2008. No way can McCain present that he is anything but self-focused and offering just more of the same!
The thought of having a woman for president is appealing when thinking she could offer more sensitivity and compassion, likely more insight and intuition and even more conscience and the absence of a male ego … but just not Hillary as she demonstrates none of those qualities, as with Hillary it is really just all about Hillary. She displays the same sociopathic personality as GWBush does and is simply arrogant, obnoxious, aggressive, self-focused, divisive, dishonest and then belligerently does/says whatever she feels will benefit her without any conscience, hesitation or guilt … and she has an ego bigger than most of her male counterparts.
Whether Barack is the best there is or not, I don’t know … but … he is obviously the best of what we are offered!
People are still dying daily because of this. It doesn’t matter if it’s Americans or not. An American live is not 1 ounce more valuable than an Iraqi life. The sad part it the damage has been done. If we leave now, there will be a dozen terrorists groups just waiting to take it over. So I guess it’s 100 years of some sort of military in Iraq. *sigh*
Seeing both of them there together, whether they agree or disagree is less of a political stunt in my view. Why not informally debate the war situation on site? What’s wrong with a fact finding joint tour instead of a photo op?
It’s simply amazing how John McCain continues his attacks on Senator Obama by taking Obama’s words out of context. This to expected, politics as usual, instead of a clear fresh approach to honesty and reaching out to the american people and the world. It’s time for change and improving our postions throughout the world. Why would Senator Obama even consider making a trip to Iraq with someone that is in direct opposition to the change we are all looking for………..the answer is clear………he wouldn’t and has not considered going on a joint trip; which in fact, is simply a publicity stunt for McCain’s politics as usual. Look at the current administrations foreign policy, which is the same as McCain’s, not the distractions away from it. The people want change not more of the same…………there’s the real “WAKE UP CALL!”
If reduction in violence is a measure of “success”, then there have been recent successes in Iraq. Violence levels are down. Much of the violence was not attackers versus US military, which has remained steady or increased silghtly, but attackers versus the citizenry. So why has that second form of violence dropped?
Most of the violence against the citizenry—and why so many have described the situaton as a civil war—was one ethnic or religous group attacking another. Specifically, the majority group in a neighborhood, town, or city was cleansing itself of the minority group. I call it microcosm violence.
The end result is that after 5 years of local cleansing, there is in fact far, far less “work” that needs to be done to cleanse an area of whatever undesirables. Iraqi society is now far more segregated than it was prior to the US led invasion.
Guess what the next step is? A period of “macro-cosm” violence will follow the next phase, “midi-cosm” violence. This escalating phases of violence are what McCain fears. And he fears that it could all too easily spiral far out of control with the US caught in the middle of a deeper and farther reaching conflict.
Obama sees these interstitial moments of low violence as opportunity to get the people to settle their differences at a negotiating table instead of a war room. It was just these sort of moments that brought cessation of violence in Vietnam and Korea. Can it work in Iraq? I have no clue.
If obama was realy against the war like he is alway,s saying, why is alway,s voting to fund the war? I think that obama has no back bond, because he would have voted against funding the war, and would have help bring the troop,s sooner, obama just all talk, but will do nothing, just talk for obama, and talk. Vote Hillary or McCain but no obama
I found it to be rather comical that Obama said the following: “I will talk to our enemies to find out what their true intentions and aspirations are so we can better understand them. People like the leaders of Iran.”
To my mind, if a country declares itself your enemy and an enemy to an ally, what the heck is there left to know. Maybe Obama can get them to unveil their battle plans.
Of course Obama doesn’t want to go to Iraq with McCain, because “I don’t want it to be a political trip”, he failed to add, “a political trip I can’t control and spin to my advantage”. Don’t think for a second that it’s going to be a trip that shows the positive side of the turnaround that has happened in Iraq.
It will take 20 years for Obama to recognize what the truth is in Iraq, and then it will take someone else to explain it to him, just like in his association with Rev. Wright.
When McCain went to Iraq, he spent most of his time in the secure Green Zone. When he ventured to the marketplace he wore a bullet-proof vest and was surrounded by dozens of troops to protect him. The next week, terrorists killed many of the merchants in that marketplace.
Mission Accomplished?
And while they are counting the days since Obama visited Iraq, let’s count the days since McCain bought the propaganda intelligence and voted for this unnecessary war.
Mr. Obama,
Please don’t play into the hands of the Republicans. You were in the Senate hearing when Petrasus gave a detailed account of the situation in Iraq. Don’t allow them to dictate what you must do. Be strong, listen to your heart and thoughts. We see the situation everyday and hear how our troops are become sucidal from this terrible and Bush want to be great War. McClain is simply pushing Bush’s agenda. It’s not the American agenda. Being a war hero, does not make you smart about war or what’s best for this country. I appreciate what he did then, but this now and we are living in different era. Fighting is not always the answer to every situation. JUST BE STRONG AND DON’T BULLIED BY THE REPUBICANS. STAND STRONG IN YOUR CONVICTIONS. YOU REPRESENT ALOT OF VOTERS AND WE WANT OUT!
question?
Has Bush been to Iraq to behold the war he started? Then why should Obama, just to prove a point to McCain?
I don’t trust this invitation to iraq, it sounds like a trap to me.For all we know his competitors want him to go so something terrible happens to him, if he must go i urge him to take all necessary precautions and then some to ensure his safety. Obama is allready a very important figure to many of us and we cannot afford for anything to happen to him.
Be safe obama.
“I don’t think that John McCain or the Bush administration have a very strong argument to make about their foreign policy so they’re gonna try to come up with diversions or distractions and not argue the substance,” Obama said Wednesday night.
Question for Barack Obama:
How can they have an argument of “Substance” (something you lack) with you, when you know absolutely nothing about what is happening there? When you two get to debate over this, will you just sit dumbfounded like you always do…or will you answer that the Bush administration failed? Where would the substance be in that?
He won’t go to Iraq. Even if he did, don’t you think he’s already written a speech about his trip there? Maybe he’ll tell us about his uncle.
Obama is NOT qualified - especially on foreign policy issues - what a joke!!
I wish BO would be taken over there and left there for good.
Sen. Obama may be running against the current Clinton, but he faces the truth just like the previous Clinton. Calling McCain’s comments a “Political Stunt” is “Spinning” facts around just like good old Billy! The wanna-be “U.S. Commander-In-Chief” has not visited the most active area of U.S Military action without personally visiting it for over 2 years??? He should have been smart (or experienced) enough to just visit Iraq without adding in the “stunt” comment. I would suggest he try running again after a couple of decades of “seasoning”, but he probably would only be better with spin then with useful experience!
Dear American Voters,
Hon. Senator McCain and Obama, besides each having many attributes and characteristics. The critical differences in my professional, political, and personal opinion are as under:
1. Presidential “Temperament and Integrity”.
2. Little Washington “insider Versus outsider” connectedness.
3. Vision and mission for our nation future rather than past.
4. American policies first USA centric than other countries centric.
In my professional opinion one senator has it and the other does not. We need one for our Greatgrand Nation to address our all these challenges with a fresh, clean and new slate.
God Bless America. its diverse people, and our Greatgrand Nation.
Yours truly,

A vote for Barack is a vote for an OBAMAnation!
Maybe Obama will swing by Ramallah and give Nasser Shaer a hug and a kiss
Obama continues to steam roll over the competition on with his message of change… the only thing I have seen him change is his message…
Will somebody change the batteries in McCain, he sounds like a war robot (or at least give him something different to say from time to time). Once they sit down for a debate everyone will see who’s better suited to run the country.
The founder — and defender — of Fox News said he expected Obama to win in a landslide, citing widespread unhappiness with the current administration and his disenchantment with Republican contender John McCain. Murdoch added that after a long career in the Senate, McCain had been forced to compromise too much and doesn’t stand for much. Murdoch even nonchalantly owned up to influencing the New York Post to back Obama in the New York primary.
During the Q&A, I pressed Murdoch — a new U.S. citizen — on whether he would actually vote for Obama in November. He said he was leaning toward it, but would know in the next six months. When I asked if I could call him, he said yes, then joked I could probably just figure it out from reading the Post.
If John McCain believes he has gleaned some keen insight into Iraq simply by walking down a pre-sanitized Baghdad street, talking with a military commander and isolated by a 50 person security/entourage bubble then he is a fool. I’m surprised Obama is now considering a trip as it will also be nothing but a political stunt. Bad move for Obama – looks like McCain has Obama on the run. Kudos to McCain camp for setting a clever trap.
The founder and defender of Fox News Rupert Murdoch says he thinks Obama will win in a landslide because of widespread unhappiness with the current administration. He feels McCain has been forced to compromise after along career in the senate and doesn’t stand for much. He is leaning toward voting for Obama.
Senator Obama…you are a piece of work…what diversions? What distractions? The substance of Iraq is that we are winning since the surge…if you would wrap your brain around that you’d be a lot more believable. You are the one, Sir, with no foreign policy or foreign policy experience. You are the one making statements about sitting down with terrorist leaders with no preconditions, you are the one who is calling the efforts of our servicemen and women a “failure.” Let’s talk about diversions and distractions…what about Wright and 20 years, what about Ayers and what about the Chicago political machine. We have been distracted from those issues by Senator Clinton’s continued campaign, but we will be heard on those issues.
McCain’s support for this ILLEGAL war, yet disagreement about how it was executed, is tantamount to a criminal aurguing about the best way to rob a bank during a heist instead of realizing that robbing the bank is wrong in the first d*mn place! Why visit a place that should have never been INVADED? All the EXCUSES for going to war are bogus.
One final thing… I HATE when people say, “we haven’t been attacked since 9-11, so this must be working”. Jeez, common sense (or anti-terrorism training) would tell you that a large-scaled attack is something that terrorists plan, plot, and strategize over for a very long time. Remember, it was 8 years between the 2 twin tower attacks. This is a game of chess to them, and we think just because they aren’t going back to back with attacks, its working. Give me a break.
John McCain wants to talk about his wisdom concerning Iraq. Neither John McCain or George W. Bush know anything about wisdom in Iraq. They led us into this quagmire and here we set five years on. John McCain has no room to lecture anyone on Iraq, he voted for this war and when changes needed to be made to get us out, his reply was “STAY THE COURSE”. Now America will answer that response, just as they did in the Mid-Term elections. Republicans will be sent packing once again.
Obama should go if he wants to seriously pretend to be a serious candidate. McCain shouldn’t have had to goad him into going! Anyone who wants to be commande in chief should understand this situation. We are a nation at war wih Radical Islam (is there any other kind? Ask the Danes, English, Spanish, Germans and NewYorkers) and we have a presidntial candidate who says inhis book, “if the wind blows in a unfavoable direction, I will stand with the Muslims.” That’s Obama!
Say what????????
No to Obama…..Not Qualified/experienced enough to serve this Great Nation…..
This Nation needs a strong, knowledgeable,…..President….McCain 08
