McCain: Obama displays ignorance on Iraq
RENO, NV - Accusing Sen. Barack Obama of having “a profound misunderstanding” for the situation on the ground in Iraq, Sen. John McCain repeated his call Wednesday for his Democratic rival to join him for a trip to the war zone.
“To say that we failed in Iraq and we are not succeeding does not comport with the facts on the ground so we have got to show him the facts the ground,” McCain told a group for more than 700 supporters at a town hall meeting in the Silver State.
Obama has visited Iraq only once-on a two-day trip in January 2006 one year before the surge started–while McCain has made eight trips the country since the invasion, most recently in March.
“I’ve been back to Iraq on many occasions…because I think it’s important that if you’re involved in a major decision making, the most vital decision that any President of the United States can make or frankly any elected official has got to be about the security of this nation, and the lives of young Americans who are serving,” McCain said, adding that if Obama visited Iraq he could meet General Petraues and see Iraqi security and political progress.
The presumptive GOP nominee also merged his new attack line on Iraq with a more recent favorite hit on Obama’s plan to hold talks with world dictators like Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinjad.
“Why is it that Senator Obama wants to sit down with the President of Iran, but hasn’t yet sat down with General Petraeus - the leader of our troops in Iraq?” McCain asked.
The GOPer has taken on a more patronizing tone when discussing Obama of late-asking him to “listen and learn” five times during remarks today, just days after he rhetorically patted him on the head at a California rally, stating that, “for young man with very little experience, he’s done very well.”
McCain also for the first time adopted a Hillary Clinton talking point from earlier this year-hammering Obama today for failing to hold a hearing on Afghanistan despite chairing a Senate subcommittee which has jurisdiction over NATO.
“He has not held one single hearing on Afghanistan, where young Americans are in harms way as we speak,” McCain added. “This is about leadership. This is about what America is about but it is also about the qualities of a president of the United States.”
The Obama campaign was quick to respond to the McCain attack by using the new Scott McClellan book that is critical of the administration on Iraq….

What’s new, this has existed for some time…Obama has no clue what is going in Iraq and he does not care. He is more interested in pushing on this wound and hurt America for all it’s worst. Obama desires to enslave the millions in Iraq to the insurgents , religious “leaders” and iran operatives. McCain was born in Panama!
According to the constitution’s 14th amendment:
“persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
To be President according to Article II Clause 5 of the constitution:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
McCain was not natural born but was naturalized and only natural born citizens are eligible to become President.
Maybe he was a citizen when the Constitution was adopted?!

Congress can not pass laws saying people born out of the United States are natural born citizens.

Obama has a profound misunderstanding of many things..unlike Hillary who has the endorsement of generals, etc. This is why it is so critical that the DNC and superdelegates get a backbone and endorse the best qualified candidate to beat McCain, Hillary Clinton.
McCain’s condescending tone is not the best way to try to help Obama become more aware of the progress in Iraq. McCain admits that he needs to learn more about the economy. I would agree because it’s puzzling to me how the United States is going to be able to continue to fund this war.
What’s new…Obama has had his head in the sand about Iraq since the beginning. By leaving in the manner originally proposed he would have enslaved millions….think about that especially for all those who have concerns about what this nation did in the past.
McCain is completely correct. All Obama has done is gone on and on about bush’s failed policy in Iraq when actually the media has just chosen not to show anything good to come out of iraq and will only pipe up when something bad happens.
It doesnt matter how much Obama goes on about he didnt vote for Iraq (he wasnt even in the senate so he can say whatever he thinks his followers need to hear), how it needs to end etc.., The next president has to take office with Iraq at the top of their books and even he has admitted this war wont end the instant he gets in (if he does), he said it will be about 16 months before he can bring troops home. This isnt stopping the war. Are you telling me that McCain wouldnt bring the troops home in 16months if he felt Iraq was becoming secure.
I get my back up whenever i read Obama’s comments about Iraq and McCain.
