Obama Camp on Clinton’s Bobby Kennedy Comment
The Obama camp today took notice of Hillary Clinton’s comment to a South Dakota newspaper editorial board meeting, where she said she would not drop out of the race and oddly observed, “Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June.”
When the New York Post picked it up and called the comment “an odd comparison between the dead candidate and Barack Obama,” the Obama camp responded. “Senator Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign,” a spokesman said in a statement, further escalating the story.
Fodder for at least a few more news cycles.

This is blown out of proportion!!!! Get real people!!!!
Hillary cannot be trusted. She repeatedly changes her approach in her desperation for win at all cost motivation
No, it is not blown out of proportion– we know the Clinton campaign has been waiting for something big to happen that will change the course of the race. I am not suggesting that Clinton hopes Kennedy’s (Robert) fate for Obama. The comment by Clinton just sounds odd to say the least.
Clinton then goes to say that she should stay in the race because “things happen in June.”
I am not sure what the hell she is saying. This is getting too weird for me.
Oh come on, now the media is going to blow this out of portion. If the media wants to blow this out of proportion it is going to back fire on them. She was just referring to an unfortunate event that ocurred during a Primary. Nobody in their right mind can really think that is why she is staying in this race. People that think that way have very twisted minds.
I would never vote for Obama, but Hillary’s Bobby Kennedy comment was way over the line!
Hillary was looking for examples of primaries going thru June…it was not the best choice of example’s but she was in no way making any other point..and she apologized if she offended anyone and the Kennedy’s…but it is a good way to get off the subject of Obama being against Free Trade with Columbia, but willing to sit with Cuba’s Leader….
Apparently, Clinton made the same remark back in March, in response to question why she was staying the race when she clearly has no chance to the nomination.
Her campaign manager including Clinton herself have said that things could happen that may change the nomination though she (Clinton) does not have a clear path to the nomination.
I have asked some young people who are not necessarily politically inclined to analyze the comment– the consensus was Obama needs more security.
I am not suggesting Clinton wants Obama to be harmed, but this would be the second she has made this statement.
WOW CAN YOU GET ANY RUDER THAN THAT COMMENT MADE BY HILLAWITCH, TALK ABOUT A LITTLE ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES……………
second time she has made this RFK assassination comment as to the reason she stays in the race– to correct my post above*
Neither Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama can get the needed delegates to win the nomination…We all know the superD’s are going to “Select” the nominee…she has every right to stay in the race…We all know the Democratic Party is afraid of the violence that will occure should Hillary be the “Selected” nominee..but there are a few who have the courage to stand for who can best beat McCain in GE…So for all those who want her out…she is following the Will of the people who want her to stay in…until all votes are cast and counted…What don’t Obama supporters undersand about that…We don’t care who says she can’t win..that is just propaganda…remeber superD’s can change thier mind at anytime…and Hillary will have the popular vote at the end of this nominatin process….It’s over when Hillary says it’s over…
Hillary Clinton was out of line with her comments, but Obama was just as wrong by using it to his advantage. Both of them have used the deceased Kennedy`s legacy`s for political gain. Sad.
I think it is unacceptable for people to insinuate that the Clintons are hoping that something bad like that happens to Obama. I think people that think that way have very twisted minds. She was just referring to a Primary, but my God Obama’s supporters are way too sensitive.Don’t go on and on with this because it is going to back fire on all of you.

There you go again.
When the comments were read to the campaign, they said such statement has no place in this campaign, and after seeing the full context, they said they don’t believe she meant it for evil about Obama.
So how has Obama used this to his benefit?
SUPER DELEGATES TAKE HER SERIOUSLY!!! WE ALL KNOW THE HISTORY OF THE CLINTONS!!!

I just heard the audio on this. For Senator Clinton to say that she is staying in the race because she just might get the nomination outright or if by chance something horrible (as in “assassination”) happens to Senator Obama is classless. You Democrats, you Senator Clinton Backers can have her. She does’nt just annoy me anymore, she disgusts me. Go ahead you

I am sure the pain Kennedy felt was not sensitive, and again, the pain Kennedy felt was not sensitive.
HILLAWITCH IS DESPERATE VERY DESPERATE AND SHE HAS NOTHING TO LOOSE, AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT DESPERATE PEOPLE ARE CAPABLE OF DOING……………….WATCH OUT OBAMA NO WONDER SHE’S SO CONFIDENT.
Everything Hillary and Bill Clinton say is well thought out. They have been in the political spin game for many years, so don’t be fooled by these false apologies. She will no doubt try and fight her way into the VP ticket and start back stabbing poor old Barack in the back “starting on day one”. Already the pundits are joking that if Barack takes her as his VP, he will need a food taster on his secret security team.
To Marco,
If you want to make any comments on this thread, first of all, do not call anyone names that is very low class.
THE POINT IS WHY. OUT OF ALL THINGS WOULD SHE BRING THAT UP…………. EVEN SHE ADMITTED THAT WAS SOMETHING VERY STUPID TO SAY, BUT THAN AGAIN HILLARY IS EVERYTHING BUT STUPID SO WHY ELSE WOULD SHE SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT UNLESS SHE IS AT LEAST HOPING FOR SOMETHING BAD TO HAPPEN ANS SHE’S CONJURING IT WITH HER EVIL THOUGHTS.
I SAID IT BEFORE THIS IS GOOD VS EVIL.
She is just stressed out you guys….Bill needs to handle up on Monica, oops I mean Hillary….
Your candidate has divided this country so much that it will take a miracle to unite the party.
Hopefully this loser doesn’t know something that public doesn’t know. It is blatantly obvious that she wants something to happen to Senator Obama. There are a bunch of other scenarios she could have cited to make that point. I wonder when she apologized to Senator Kennedy if it even crossed her mind to apologize to Senator Obama? No, because that’s exactly what she wants to happen. Hillary Clinton is nothing more than a 60 year old sore loser who can’t even run a campaign let alone a country. She has had Howard Wolfson lieing his ass off of television saying she is ahead in the popular vote. Only by her delusional count that is outside of the party rules. She says we need to count all 50 states and seat Michigan and Florida delegates, but her popular vote count excludes people voting in caucus states. Oh! Well I guess the little states don’t count. But guess what Hillary? If that’s the case, you don’t have 50 states! She is behind in pledged delegates (and not can not close that gap), she is behind in superdelegates, and she is behind in popular vote. SHE LOST. Everyone else who realized they could not win mathematically dropped out: Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd, John Edwards. They did it for the good of the party. This fool hangs around for nothing more than personal gain and hopes that the real winner who kicked her ass will get shot so she can get her “entitlement.” And the message that is sent to kids all over the country is: if you lose, just throw a big tantrum and say the rules aren’t fair and create a big stink until the rules make you win. I hope not, because I don’t ever want to see a Superbowl, World Series, NBA Championship game, marathon, or anything else with that stupid logic. She needs to drop out and go home to ponder how she got beat by the younger black junior senator who started out as a community organizer; not taking up valuable space where the real winners are.
GAIN FOX PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT TAKES TO GET A COMMENT POSTED?
I think some of you are showing more desperation than the candidates. The superdelegates are going to support the candidate that can win against Mccain. That’s why they are waiting untill the primaries are over.
John W. Bush McCain, Obama is a pu$$. Every time anyone makes a statement about him, the crybaby oozes out of him. Just by saying later, no harm done, it still made news, and whenever he makes news on Hillary`s statements, he benefits. Your skin is just as thin as Obamas..
If she had meant to reference the California primary in June of 1968 then she should have said so. There was no need to even mention Kennedy’s name. The reference to Kennedy was cosmic stupidity. (Smartest woman in the U.S. ??? God, I hope not.)
Hillary—- What were you thinking? If your chances were’nt doomed before, they are now. What you said is totally out of line—- even for you! That was very low to say what you said. I am so disappointed in you! I wasn’t going to vote for you in the first place. You have just formed-up my resolve to vote for Sen Obama. If you have any class left in you I would hope that you would have a newspaper print a public apology from you for those remarks. Shame on you Hillary!
All the other candidates that dropped out did not have chance to win at all. The race is very close that is why she shouldn’t drop out.Her supporters do not want her to drop out either..
Well, the truth is my beef is not with Clinton– We need to make sure John W. Bush McCain does not get elected– because he wants to continue Bush-Cheney failed policies.
I voted for Bush but is was a monumental mistake– America cannot afford a third Bush term by electing John W. Bush McCain– not in treasure and definitely not in blood.

I couldn’t stand her and Bill when he was in the White House and they are just determined she should be President because of who they are. I am frightened what might happen if they get in there especially if she were somehow to make VP. For her sake she better hope nothing happens to Obama because she will be ruined forever regardless if she had a hand in it or not, just the suggestion. WOW a women of her supposed stature are you kidding me. She also looked extremely tired and worn out. I can’t stand bullies never could. If he has to, put her in a position that she maybe can accomplish something and is out of his way. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do if she manages to steal the nomination. I do think if the party really and truly want to unite then the remaining delegates need to come forward now and support Obama, I don’t know how any of them can be on the fence when it comes to her. She has been doing nothing but whining lately and pulling out all the stops. The delegates don’t realize they are just as bad as her by holding up this process. Sometimes I think it is on purpose and for political reasons. I could only imagine how she would behave if that happened. I think everyone would be blown away be her furious reaction. Bet me to be a scared adult. What is that teaching your children. Get it together already and support Obama. I really don’t feel there are anymore skeletons in Obamas closest that everything is out in the open. Excellent point RC..but you have to remember that Obama will appeal to Democrat males…there is something very effeminate about the all of them.
Obama spoke up right away, didn’t he???? Hillary didn’t speak out about his church until she was asked what she would do if it were her church. She said she “would get up and leave” and the media and Obama freaked out about that. She didn’t mean she would encourage the whole church to get up and leave. Everyone is so stupid.
Clinton’s comment ought to make her more popular and appealing, right???? esp. considering all of the racist comments Obama says that the media and the people seem to gloss over and the rest of the population forgets from one week to the next. What was wrong w/her comment?
I don’t respond to fools directly.
It doesn’t matter what she says, it will be spun mercilessly.
I don’t care, whatever…Anybody but Obama
No to Obama please
Obama will meet with Abadinijad but not FOXNEWS???????????? and the stupid people aren’t screaming about this????????????
I will not vote for Obama because he does not have the experience to be the President of the United States. I would rather vote for MCCain.I did not vote for Bush , I voted for Kerry , but look what happened to Kerry.

She does not have a chance to win either unless she changes the rules to suit her. I understand the citizens of Florida and Michigan being upset about the rules and the stripping of the delgates. But the rules are something the DNC created and the state party leaders and legislatures are responsible for what happened. Howard Wolfson has been on TV barking about a record voter turnout. That may be so. But what he is not saying is that a lot of people also stayed home because they were told there candidate’s name is not on the ballot and the votes would not count anyway. Some people are trying to make the argument that their Constitutional rights have been violated. Wrong again. The Constitution allows you a right to vote in the general election, but not the primary. The primary is created by a private organization: the DNC (or RNC or Green Party if that is your party). Those groups are free to contract without interference from the government; which has no power to intervene largely due to the contracts clause. Fact is, in most primaries, all of the states do not get to vote, and most of them that have this year, have not done it in years. All states do get to vote in the general election. The bottom line is, there is no fair way to seat those delgates shy of another primary from scratch with full campaigning from both candidates. The numbers as they are do not represent what they would likely be had both candidates fully campaigned in the states and been on the ballot. The party rules are the party rules whether anyone likes them or not. If Hillary doesn’t like following the rules of her party, she shouldn’t have run as a Democrat, and most of all, she should not have agreed to the rules.

PLEASE CNN & MSNBC - I prefer to cast my own vote and so do millions of other Americans. We don’t need your twisting and turning of comments to sway voters to your ‘precious’ obama. For some reason the biassed news media and the political anal-list seem to have a compulsive hunger to see obama elected and our country destroyed.

i think we all know that if obama had made that same statement, the clinton camp along with the media would have torn him to pieces over it. they lit into obama over someone elses comments and dragged it out for weeks. whenever hillary says something out of line, she says im sorry and its all forgotten. but credit to the obama camp for not using it in the way that hillary would.

John Ondrasik (the singer-songwriter who is Five for Fighting) is one of the most pro-GI people in pop music. And in this video, it shows. You may have heard the song before but this video is new. In the beginning, he goes into a pawn shop to pawn a flag… the pawnbroker is in his sixties, and over his shoulder you see a photo of a young Vietnam era warrant officer with aviator wings and the MOH.
Yes, that’s really a Medal of honor winner–not an actor.

Who does Obama think he is? Hillary has cited these two references to conventions SEVERAL times; yet NOW it’s all about Obama. What a wanker.
She could have cited the Kennedy/Carter primary - it not only went to the convention, but Ted Kennedy wanted the rules changed in order to force the delegates to elect HIM.
Why doesn’t Obama just go back to his father’s homeland and become king - that’s what he wants. What a waste of space he is.
I’m really tired of his low shots at Hillary. Hillary should fire back with just how stupid Obama really is.

OBAMA resign
I am trying to respond to your question, keep getting blocked. I just heard Hillary’s words straight from her mouth. She didn’t say what is being said. She said, that her husband did not win the nomination until June. And that that was also when Kennedy was k***ed. This is getting sillier by the day. I am not a Hillary supporter, but prefer her to Obama.
The person who said, the DNC fears there would be violence if they do not select Obama definitely has some serious issues!
Have it dawn on you that the Superdelegates are Smart, have 20/20 vision and recognizes a good leader when they see one. Anyone can clearly see the success of a well managed campaign. Hillary Clinton’s campaign was doom from the start and it is No Surprise that her campaign is 30 million dollars in debt. She has hired, fired, and rehired and still doesn’t have it right. She voted to penalize Florida and Michigan, and in a previous interview, (when she was leading in delegates), she stated “rules are rules”. At this time, she could have cared less about the voters of Florida and Michigan. Now that she’s behind, it is sooooo unfair. What’s unfair is that, Hillary along with the DNC set and agreed on the rules beforehand, therefore those who wanted to vote in Michigan didn’t because their candidate of choice was not even on the Ballot, and some who didn’t bother to vote in Florida because they knew their vote would not count.
As for Hillary Clinton, right now her Staff and Advisors don’t know how or what she’s thinking and I don’t think she knows either. Today her comments, as her supporters state, was taken out of context. . .. and I can agree the comment may or may not have been taken out of context- merely interpreted in different ways.
When Barack Obama spoke about the people of Pennsylvania’s frustration…..Hillary, not her campaign interpret this comment in the worst way, and promoted it strongly to ensure it was interpreted the way she wanted it to be interpreted. This type of Negativity throughout her entire campaign ruined her image and her campaign and spoke to her true character…….She will do anything to win! They’re in the same Party, and should have ran a positive campaign. We won’t even see this type of Behavior from McCain.
As far as there being Violence, I believe America is beyond that, as I would like to believe we are beyond slavery, beatings, hanging, front of the bus, back of the bus, we’re inferior, all else aren’t etc.!
I believe in Change. Yes we can!

it would not surprise me if obama somehow gets the blame for her words. im not sure what she was trying to say. i do know that the event she spoke of has on place in this campaign no matter how she uses it. one would have to know that speaking of an assasination in this particular race would without a doubt be questioned. perhaps it was an honest misunderstanding but she will just have to ride it out just the same as obama has done this entire race having words twisted.

If the superdelegates was voting for her 2-1, even with Obama big lead I can see why she would stay in the race, but it’s the superdelegates votes she need and she’s not getting it. The superdelegates are going for Obama like 5-1, so it’s crazy that she will stay in the race wasting the hard working poor peoples money that is supporting her while she goes 20 million in the red!
It appears that she either.
1. Wants to hurt Obama as much as possible so McCain can be a 1 term President, which will open the door for her in 2012.
2. She believes something dramatic will happen before the convention that will give her the nomination…. what can it be? It’s certainly not the Florida and Michigan delegates!
She’s up to something alright, only she knows what it is! She has issues and you are about as lost as she is!
