Romney Launches PAC

Governor Mitt Romney launched a new political action committee today just days before he is set to spend the weekend at the Arizona home of Senator John McCain.

The Free and Strong America PAC founded by the former presidential candidate and Massachusetts governor has the declared mission of supporting “officeholders and candidates who are dedicated to advancing social, fiscal, and foreign policies that will strengthen America at this critical time in the nation’s history.” The PAC will focus on electing candidates that are committed to “military strength,” low taxes, small government, and “strong families.”

In an e mailed statement announcing the launch Romney said, “America is at a crossroads. If we are to remain a leader in the world, we must be prepared to tackle the numerous challenges ahead of us with the same innovation and spirit that has made us the envy of the world. Together with the candidates we support, and the help of the American people, we can embrace solutions that will create a strong economy, strong families and a strong military.”

The political action committee has already announced several candidates that they will support including John McCain, Representative Connie Mack of Florida -a former Romney supporter, and Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, among others.

Advisors from Romney’s presidential bid are back at the PAC including Press Secretary Eric Fehrnstrom who is now a senior adviser. Peter Flaherty who was Romney’s liaison to religious conservatives will be the executive director and campaign manager Beth Myers is also back as a senior advisor.

The PAC will support conservative candidates now, but will be ready in force by the time 2012 rolls by. There has been talk of Romney launching another presidential bid — the chatter began the day he dropped out of the race.

This weekend he will be traveling to McCain’s Sedona ranch with Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal and Florida governor Charlie Crist. All are widely thought to be possible vice-presidential picks, but the McCain campaign stresses that the weekend is just “social.”

I hope they clean the floor with BO. BO has yet to release his camps people records he already said earlier this year he had no lobbyists, special interest working for him, so why not release the work history of your staff and prove it.

Comment by signs

BO has been given a pass on every questionable thing here is the list.

BO was not questioned on his racial remarks. (typical whites and so on)
BO was not called out on going o a hate church ( look up the doctrine of Trinity it teaches hate)
BO was not asked why he has a fund raiser who actively supports terrorists.(Hatem El Hady)
BO was not asked why he lied about his past ( not poor, Grandparents paid for almost everything he wished for and helped pay his college)
BO was not called out on his numerous book that are loaded with hate. (dreams of my father & ? hope)
BO has not been held accountable of his elite comments about small town middle class people.
BO has not been called out how he started the race card. ( they said a black man could never run for president. & we will prove them wrong.
BO has not been questioned about his community organizer job. ( seems it was loaded with slim lords, ex gangsters, and corrupt officials)
BO has not been questioned about why he would say our flag represents oppression , and he didn’t want to be perceived as taking side. (As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides,” Obama said. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. )
BO has not been asked about why he doesn’t salute our flag. (”And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.” ;)
BO has not been asked why two of his advisers talked with Hamas.

These are just some things that should bother everyone. If someone wins it should be on their merits and record not on race and lies.

BO has been given such a free pass from the leftist media. Its acutally becoming embarrassing now for him. What i cant get over is his voting record. saying ‘present’ instead of a yes or no to things that you believe in strikes me as being very weak and not wanting any baggage in your bid to be president. At least we know where McCain stands. he is not afraid to cross party lines if its an issue he bleieves in. some conservatives dont like this but i think it shows him to be a good person and politician.

Romney is a smart man. Some dont like him but i personally thing he is a very strong character and would make a great VP, and maybe a president in 2012.

Have any of you ever been to the CNN blogs. they basically only print pro-obama blogs, the occasion pro-hillary blog and maybe 1 pro-mccain. they even close the blogs as soon as they are up so nobody else tries to add anything.

Did you all see the story about Senator Tom Harkin from Iowa?

This is not going to help the democrats.

Harkin said McCain’s family history of military service

will make him a bad president. Harkin is catching flak

and rightfully so for an incredibly stupid remark.

Story is on fox news web.

Rudy, everything i’m reading on there now is just from nutter obamabots who do nothing but put hillary down and the trash talk about how stupid her supporters are. I know Fox is conservative but at least it isnt nasty and it has pretty mixed views.

The far left are pretty scary people. they can never admit when somebody does something good, its just bash bash bash. I am no hillary fan but i can at least admit that she’s coming off pretty strong at the moment and is looking much more of a president then the likely dem nominee.

Romney use to be an abortion supporter. McCain doesn’t like Romney.

Under pressure from the conservatives, Romney will undermine McCain.

Why wouldn’t Fox allow Anti-Obama comments? It’s like saying why wouldn’t NBC allow anti McCain comments…

Comment by Louise

I used to listen to Obama’s speeches but now i just cant stomach them. He is an amazing talker when he has a written speech (i will give him that) but without it his true colours come out. he takes so long to get sentences out and is always thinking about what to say. I listened for about 5mins to his Q&A after his speech last week and had to turn over, he sounded pretty bad.

And he is really disrespectful to President Bush and McCain. He never addresses them with their titles that they have rightfully earnt (president and Senator). I cant believe he reacts instantly when something is said about him (or not in some cases), but will bash Bush and McCain repeatidly throughout his services (sorry i mean speeches). he is so arrogant and i pray he isnt elected.

Mitt for VP. what a strong team that would be.

Why arent politicians allowed to change their mind. Times change and so should views of politicians to meet the changes. Obama refusing to admit that his stance on Iran was wrong and will now change his view to accomodate the ‘real’ threat Iran poses to the world now shows how arrogant he is.

Abortion is a touchy subject. In the UK they are having real problems because abortion rates are so high that some teens are having a couple by the time they are 18, being used as a sort of contraception. If Mitt changed his mind on that then maybe he had another look at it and realised that it shouldnt be legalised just yet…..

I noticed that too. The Obama supporters evidently are representing their candidate, Obama.

He changes his identity to blow with the wind. One day a country is a tiny little threat, the

next day they are a very huge threat. One day he is for “unconditinal” talks with terrorist; then he

changes his story and say there will be preparations first.

Comment by KC

Well in his speach about all the changes Obama plans to make you need to watch the news now and take a look at what earmarks or pork barrels cost. This is the first time the president has bothered to say why he veto’s bills. Look at how a $100 billion bill has balloon to $300 billion with pork on it, (earmarks), to get these senators elected again, they are not worried about us or our budget for this country and this is the farm bill, then add on the military bill which was a little over $100 billion also and it is ballooned to over $300 billion with pork add ons and the congress is going to over ride the presidents veto. The leftest liberals refuse to open our oil fields with oil predicted to rise to $12. to $14. dollars a gal. and the congress wants to add another $0.50 tax to that. Then you look at the fact Obama could have made changes when he was in congress and instead he voted present then the bills he did vote for had pork of his own or his “friends” on it. Look at what this pork cost and if you look at the deffinition of pork barrel it is moneys attached to bills to gain campain contributions and or votes. It is for the congress people to gain votes. So go vote a man in who has 107 times not voted for key issues that could of made changes because he is now going to do what he DID NOT do when he should have. Talk is cheap, actions speak. Obama has shown by his very actions that he
talks the talk but he does not walk the walk. It isn’t listening to them talk, some make sence it is looking at the facts.

So the rich got richer, the poor got poorer. My hat goes off to Bush for Veto’ing this, its a shame noone else in the Senate looks at it the same way. DNC did their own sinking of it’s ship. Look at what the Democrats are doing to us now. Spending billions we do not have, Look at how they are blocking us getting our own oilfilds pumping again. Look at the way they ignored 2 states votes and the rest of the states votes are not importatnt. Who is sinking who?

Dems spending billions we dont have - and what do you call the 12 billion a month being spent in Iraq, petty cash?

Voted on and approved by the democratic house and senate. I will however say this money is needed and rightfully approved.

Yes, but what they do not tell you is all the money for the military is tied together - there is no way to cut off money for just Iraq - if you do not approve the moeny, not only does Iraq come up short, but also every base in the world and its civilain work force
